2025 Ep. 322 Revival: No Holding Back Pt. 4

One City

Revival has many definitions, but there’s only one that we’re prioritizing for this series. Revival is hosting the presence of God. This series will define all that’s wrapped up in that statement.

Hosting the presence of God is much more than intellectual statement. It begins with an encounter with God, grows into a relationship, and remains unwavering through the highs and lows of life.

Hosting the presence of God requires all of us. It is a “no holding back” relationship with Jesus. It’s so much more than being a good church person; it moves pass casual and convenient to committed and courageous.

This fourth message in this series addresses the issues that block worship in our lives. Worship begins and ends with your relationship with God; yet our relationship with others can interfere or even block our relationship with God. This message looks at the story of David’s wife, Michal, from 2 Samuel 6:16-23.

David is returning to the city of God with Ark of God, yet the scripture says Michal despised David in her heart. That’s just the beginning of the hurt feelings and harsh words in this story.

Michal had many legitimate reasons to be hurt, but she chooses her hurt over her healing. Ultimately, all of us have a choice. Hurt is normal in a fallen and broken world, but don’t let your hurt cause you to miss the Healer.

Are you going to run TO God or FROM God in your hurt? When we worship through our hurt, worship of the Healer releases healing. If you wait on perfect circumstances to worship; you’ll never worship.
