So that's what I wanted"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":301.44,"endTime":304.05,"body":"to talk about today is the"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":301.44,"endTime":304.05,"body":"importance of the follow up. And"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":304.05,"endTime":307.05,"body":"then you know, some of our"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":304.05,"endTime":307.05,"body":"experiences with, you know, how"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":307.05,"endTime":310.56,"body":"follow up is, has gone, where"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":307.05,"endTime":310.56,"body":"it's become a problem or where"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":310.56,"endTime":315.18,"body":"it's become, you know, something"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":310.56,"endTime":315.18,"body":"that we mastered. And I will not"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":315.78,"endTime":319.5,"body":"profess to be in any way a"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":315.78,"endTime":319.5,"body":"master of follow up. But it wasn't very"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":346.05,"endTime":348.69,"body":"efficient things did fall"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":346.05,"endTime":348.69,"body":"between the cracks. So that's"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":348.69,"endTime":351.36,"body":"what I want to talk about today."},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":348.69,"endTime":351.36,"body":"How do we avoid things falling,"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":351.39,"endTime":355.53,"body":"falling between the cracks and"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":351.39,"endTime":355.53,"body":"still follow up without it"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":355.53,"endTime":357.81,"body":"appearing to be nagging or"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":355.53,"endTime":357.81,"body":"pestering?"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":360.0,"endTime":365.31,"body":"Yeah, well, so I think one"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":360.0,"endTime":365.31,"body":"of the follow up is, because"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":365.31,"endTime":369.42,"body":"you're a project manager, one of"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":365.31,"endTime":369.42,"body":"your main responsibilities is to"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":369.42,"endTime":374.7,"body":"manage the plan. And that's all"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":369.42,"endTime":374.7,"body":"the milestones in the plan"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":374.7,"endTime":377.67,"body":"deliverables in the plan. And"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":374.7,"endTime":377.67,"body":"all the rest of that follow up"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":377.67,"endTime":385.74,"body":"is a big part of the project"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":377.67,"endTime":385.74,"body":"management art. Right. And I"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":385.74,"endTime":389.22,"body":"think, you know, you've got a"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":385.74,"endTime":389.22,"body":"lot of the project management"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":389.22,"endTime":393.66,"body":"tool set is is built around"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":389.22,"endTime":393.66,"body":"tracking and making sure that"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":393.66,"endTime":396.36,"body":"you have the ability to follow"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":393.66,"endTime":396.36,"body":"up, etc. So I think you've,"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":396.39,"endTime":401.37,"body":"you've got a massive advantage"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":396.39,"endTime":401.37,"body":"versus, let's say, follow up"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":401.37,"endTime":404.97,"body":"and, you know, just with"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":401.37,"endTime":404.97,"body":"employees and corporate culture"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":404.97,"endTime":410.76,"body":"or whatever, where we've kind of"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":404.97,"endTime":410.76,"body":"got this the the discipline has,"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":410.79,"endTime":414.66,"body":"has models and tools built right"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":410.79,"endTime":414.66,"body":"into it to help you do that,"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":414.78,"endTime":415.35,"body":"for sure."},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":416.85,"endTime":425.13,"body":"But I think that where the"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":416.85,"endTime":425.13,"body":"art comes in, is less about the"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":425.13,"endTime":427.74,"body":"discipline. I mean, if you're"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":425.13,"endTime":427.74,"body":"not disciplined enough to do the"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":427.98,"endTime":431.28,"body":"job of project manager, then you"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":427.98,"endTime":431.28,"body":"probably need to realize that"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":431.28,"endTime":433.86,"body":"about yourself and maybe look"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":431.28,"endTime":433.86,"body":"for something adjacent or"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":433.86,"endTime":435.03,"body":"something else. Right. Yeah,"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":435.03,"endTime":436.44,"body":"we still love you if you"},{"speaker":"Rod","startTime":435.03,"endTime":436.44,"body":"happen to be"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":437.13,"endTime":441.42,"body":"there. Right? So there can be"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":454.08,"endTime":459.39,"body":"people on your team who you"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":459.42,"endTime":464.49,"body":"assign work to, and you don't"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":459.42,"endTime":464.49,"body":"hear from them for two weeks."},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":465.15,"endTime":469.5,"body":"And you're not the slightest bit"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":465.15,"endTime":469.5,"body":"worried or panicked, because you"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":469.5,"endTime":475.23,"body":"know that, that means things are"},{"speaker":"Dale","startTime":469.5,"endTime":475.23,"body":"moving according to schedule.
