I'm back at Amans Table without Brandon and add Parker to the mic. We try and discuss several bourbons that can easily be found on any store shelf.
Check us out on Instagram, TikTok, and X
Welcome to the Bourbon Boys. We're back in Amond Sable. I'm joined by the regulars. We got Amon. Hello. We got Wes. Hello. And Parker's on mic today. Yes, I'm also here. Brandon's not here. We got the new mics, so hopefully this one will go well. This is last time somebody fucked up the microphone recording. Definitely not me. I'm not looking at Wes at all. So today we're doing something a little, well, not different, but we're doing a uh what you can find on the shelf, bottle, battle, whatever you want to call it. Plus, I'd like to do a little something. We got a spitball on the fly. Instead of doing bi bar bust, what can we use instead? Okay. I was thinking smash pass or eh.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_01I don't know.
SPEAKER_03I like the I like the first one.
SPEAKER_01That someone already does that. Yeah, a lot of people do that. I love it. Great.
SPEAKER_03I think it's straightforward. He wants to write the quote.
SPEAKER_01You want to promote the other podcast while you're at it? No.
SPEAKER_03Did you think you're a mascot? I did not. Oh, is that that? He does that? A lot of people do.
SPEAKER_01A lot of people do. That's pretty standard. Alright. So we gotta come up with something different. Um you don't like my Smasher Pass? It's a little controversial. Well.
SPEAKER_03A little vulgar.
SPEAKER_01Have you listened to the podcast before? No. You're just on it. Anyway, we'll come up with something. But what we're doing is bottles that are on the shelf, available, readily available, generally speaking. We have Evan Williams single barrel, which is the only single barrel included. That one's 90 or 86.6 proof. We have four rows of small batch. We have Maker's Mart, the only weeder in the group, Elijah Craig Small Batch, and we have Wild Turkey 101. So we're starting off with Evan Williams single barrel. Anyone have any uh thoughts on something else you should include or something else you wouldn't normally include in this?
SPEAKER_03I would say rare breed, but Rare Breed was the first thing that came to my mind.
SPEAKER_02Well, I guess it depends on what your focus is. If it's just Legacy and Distilleries and their stodter whiskies, then rare breed doesn't fall in this program.
SPEAKER_01Plus rare breed's beer strength.
SPEAKER_02I would definitely add a beam product, which is not makers to it. But otherwise I think we're pretty good. What would you point to? For beam? Yeah. Just beam white label or knob at the base knob.
SPEAKER_01A lot of people mention knob creek as one. Yeah. If you want some taste peanuts. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03As a single barrel, this one is. I'm I'm gonna predict that this is the best one. I think it's gonna be downhill from here. But I do like Four Rose's house character, I think, more. Uh so I'm curious to see how it's a small batch versus a small batch select?
SPEAKER_02Um, not in a long time. You had small batch select last time. But not head-to-head with. Not head to head, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Something else I was gonna bring up while we're drinking this, we almost talked about it last time. Drinking vessels. I don't think we actually got to that last time for podcast. I know this this this panel has a very distinct uh love of nose blaster, blending glasses. That's right. What do you think does what do you think that's the best thing about the nose blender whiskey glass? It's called a called a blender glass, right?
SPEAKER_03It's uh yeah, 1920s blenders glass. And to me, the thing that it does is amplify everything. So for the good and the bad. Like if you have something really high-proof and you put it in there, it's gonna smell like strong. Strong. It's it's not necessarily representative of how most people will enjoy their bourbon or their scotch or whatever.
SPEAKER_02I think it's a good tool to smell different components if you're a blender. I think that's the same thing. That's the exact purpose for it, yeah.
SPEAKER_03How do you magnify the things you're right?
SPEAKER_01What's your least favorite whiskey glass?
SPEAKER_03Ooh, um I hate those ones that are like squat and they look like a little bowl that like pinches at the top and then splays outward again. Okay. I don't like the one because it's double walled. No, it it looks like um a tulip, like a really uh exaggerated tulip. Okay. Is that a brandy glass? No, it's uh bourbon glass. Is it? I've seen it in the bourbon glass. Like the Norland? Moreland.
SPEAKER_02Norlin, N-O-R-L-A-N.
SPEAKER_00My least favorite are glasses filled with ice, especially those like metal ice cubes that you put in the freezer. Like, come on.
SPEAKER_02To each his own, like they say, there's no it's not a Norlin. Wrong way of drinking whiskey, you know.
SPEAKER_01I like Wii glens when I'm trying to moderate what I'm drinking, but I don't think it does a really good job with the smell, with nosing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because everything is just right there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh but yeah, it's definitely good to mirror yourself.
SPEAKER_01I don't like the Kensies because they always get a little bit of whiskey stuck in that ridge around the room.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and then you're not getting the true sample. Yeah. The Wii Glen, you know, you just shake it out and it's gone.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_02It's good for that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. A lot of people come around my house and they want to drink out of wee glens because they don't want to drink too much. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Overall, I think this regular Glen is a good whiskey glass.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02And most people have them. Yeah. Because there's a lot of uh riffs on this. Ugh. Seen this? Yeah. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. It looks like a special. It looks like a like for a pottered plant or something. I think it's a special.
SPEAKER_03Right, it's like a vase. It's a weird vase. What do you think of the whiskey?
SPEAKER_00It's I haven't had the Evan Williams for quite a while, and I'm actually pleasantly surprised. I haven't had this since you guys all started spoiling me about what real whiskey is, and I mean, this is not terrible.
SPEAKER_01I can guarantee you that I will go home and mix this with Code Zero. But for what it is, it was $27.
SPEAKER_03That's another thing to keep in mind, is these are all what under $30 a bottle or right around 30 bucks?
SPEAKER_02Um, right about there. I mean, the four rows of small batches, more than 30. Like 35? Yeah, 37.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Um makers you can get in a bunch of sizes.
SPEAKER_02Makers is uh also in the 30s, mid-30s. Um, the Elijah Craig is probably the cheapest at 28. Well, well, this is 27.
SPEAKER_01That's what Elijah has more proof. That's true. 101's what's that, 28? 27? 101 uh it's pretty cheap.
SPEAKER_02That's a good question. It's pretty cheap. It's under 30, it's probably pretty close to the floor. The 750 is under 30. What do you think of the whiskey? Um, I think it's very good. Heaven Hill 78, 12, 10 mash bill. Look at you bring in the facts. Caramel. Definitely a lot of caramel. Easy drinking, no complexity really, but it's exactly what it's designed for.
SPEAKER_03Is mixing orchardy fruit stuff. Sure. Orchard distillate.
SPEAKER_02It's got it's high malt really for you know whiskey if you think 12%.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. We're using the mic new mic system tonight, too. Four four wireless mics.
SPEAKER_02We'll judge it remove it after the recording is done to see if anything's unrecorded.
SPEAKER_01Well, at least it's it I know it's gonna be recorded.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Whether the the volume of everybody's voice is great, I don't know, but so you did a little dry run on this this time. Uh yeah. Okay. Well, I haven't done it yet, but so talking like this is okay.
SPEAKER_00That's the dry problem. No, don't do that. No, you're kidding to it.
SPEAKER_01Grab it a bit like Shakespearean acting. Yes. Commons tend to be a little bit lower than everybody else. Oh, yeah. I'm soft spoken. Yeah, very. So the next one we're doing is four rows of small batch. What's the proof on that one?
SPEAKER_03Uh, this is 90 proof.
SPEAKER_01So we're up in the proof by four home.
SPEAKER_00So the last time I had this was I traveled a lot, so nothing against things being in airport lounges, because this is one of my favorite airport lounges. At the Star Alliance Lounge at LAX, they were serving this. So that was the last time, and my flight was delayed six hours, the time that I was there.
SPEAKER_02I like this more.
SPEAKER_00So now we put this in a different environment, see if it holds up. There's actually some complexity on the bottom.
SPEAKER_02The nose is better. Yeah. So this one's they blend mash bill A and B both. I was wondering what the what the blend was. Yeah. Um, I don't know which particular yeast recipe, but both mash pills are blended in this. B's the spicier one, right? High rye. Select they have four different yeast strains, right?
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_03What's the price on this? 37? 37. Yeah, wow.
SPEAKER_02I thought if we should do the yellow label instead of this one. But I think this is more representative of roses, really, but yellow label is the one people use to mix usually.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean, yellow label's a step down. Yeah. I mean, makersmarks, that's their base. Elijah Craig, that's their base.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Makersmarks doesn't do a lot of different things, so it's easier.
SPEAKER_01Unless you're looking at their LTOs.
SPEAKER_02Right. Staves and all that. Just throw a bunch of staves in your batch whiskies. Apparently it's bad when Mattingly does that, but it's okay when they do that.
unknownShh.
SPEAKER_02No controversies. No controversies. Somebody posted. I thought that's what this was about.
SPEAKER_01100% truth all the time, every day. That's what this is about. Um somebody posted, I saw somebody posted Old Baldy 1, Old Baldy 2, and Bluegrass Beast on one of the pages for sale, and somebody and my buddy Ford tagged me in it. The first post under the dude who put it up was trash can something 2015 hashtag. I was like, dude, let it go. It's 10 years ago. But that is the provenance.
SPEAKER_02Yes. That is the story behind the right.
SPEAKER_01That's that picture popped up in my memories the other day.
SPEAKER_02And it's your fault anyway. It is my fault. That's what I would like to point out yet again.
SPEAKER_01I mean, for all the m all the business I brought him, I brought him down too a little bit.
SPEAKER_03No good deed goes unpolineable. Exactly.
SPEAKER_00It's just crazy how much work goes into these making them consistent. Like last time I had this, seems very similar. It's got like a cherry nose.
SPEAKER_02Fruity.
SPEAKER_03It is fruity.
SPEAKER_02It's very good. I think Roses does a great job.
SPEAKER_00Plus, they're good at a blended product, and they're also good at making barrels that we love to pick.
SPEAKER_02So that's the age has been slipping lately, but you're right. Which I think will get back to the reverse course, I'm sure, yeah. Same with Elijah Craig. There used to be 12 year single barrels, now they're down to almost eight. Wow.
SPEAKER_01Since we have five this time, why don't we not do barrel uh buy, bar, bust, whatever? We'll figure that out for some other time. We'll just rank them at the end of the day.
unknownSure.
SPEAKER_01Fair enough. Since Wes didn't like my uh controversial.
SPEAKER_02I don't think any of this is bust really.
SPEAKER_03It would be rather controversial to say any of these were busts.
SPEAKER_02Right. I mean, these guys know how to distill and make whiskey. I mean, if you push me, I can pick one. Well yeah.
SPEAKER_01So next we're doing Maker's Mark, which is the only Wheater in the bunch. Wheater. And this one is 90 proof as well. Next one will be Elijah Craig, so we'll step up slightly in proof. And then we're gonna close it out with a bang with Wild Turkey 101. The best for the last. Is is Wild Turkey 101 the 8 year still, is that like available on the shelf still? No, not right now. Really?
SPEAKER_00Wild Turkey 101 is not available on the shelves? 8-year.
SPEAKER_02No, so you always used to be 8-year before the Bourbon Bone. Now it's back. It's a special release they didn't.
SPEAKER_01I thought they were aiming to keep it on the shelf at all times.
SPEAKER_02What's that?
SPEAKER_01I thought they were aiming to keep the 8-year on the shelf at all times.
SPEAKER_02I think the goal is to get back to that.
SPEAKER_01I saw Buffalo Trace on the shelf at uh the big bad wolf down the street. It makes sense. We just got some. Totally won't. I mean ultimately that's what they're gonna try to take that off allocation. Yep. I think that's going to get there first. It's gonna get there pretty quick. Yeah. Somebody called Woodman's the other look the other day looking for Buffalo Trace. And I'm I'm stocking the 50 mls, and she's like, Chad, where can you find Buffalo Trace? I was like, there's a store down in St. Francis that's selling it for $50 a bottle if you want to go there. She's like, this is this is uh she gave the name. I'm gonna put the name up.
SPEAKER_00United, that's another way to find Buffalo Trace.
SPEAKER_03I was gonna say, I did United actually canceled Buffalo Trace for their um for their service. So that's probably why there's more Buffalo Trace in the market. United Airlines?
SPEAKER_02They did Buffalo Trace and Glenn Flash.
SPEAKER_03They got rid of Buffalo Trace. Really? No.
unknownThat's fine.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_03This is different after the last uh This is more just dark cherry to me than even the four roses.
SPEAKER_02That's interesting, isn't it?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03I can't tell you the last time I had a string. Not as spicy. It smells like butterscotch. Butterscotch and cherries. And as much as it can. But I I think this nose is the most friendly so far.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. I like that. I think the four roses, I like the nose better. I like four roses more.
SPEAKER_03That was more interesting, but this is drier like uh if you more widely acceptable. Right.
SPEAKER_01I was drinking the makers mark with Pro Zero buffer sauce last week.
SPEAKER_00It's it's okay on its own, and if you want to make Manhattan through things with it, it's still good, but it's it's one of those that, you know, when you're served it, it's not both it's not bad. You want a glass of whiskey and you got this available, it's not bad. So what's the pricing on makers? The 30s, okay.
SPEAKER_02You can get a handle of makers for 45.
SPEAKER_01This brings back bad memories of my fraternity days. Makers. The night I pledged, like a night I got my pledge, is like they handed me a 175 of makers, and like you gotta finish this for the night. Oof.
SPEAKER_00And did you?
SPEAKER_01I ended up sleeping on couch cushions in the library. You didn't finish it though. I don't remember if I finished it or not. I did almost finish. The fact was achieved regardless.
SPEAKER_02And that's where your body goes, heck no, it's coming right back.
SPEAKER_01I did almost finish a 175 of Kentucky Tavern at a uh formal event in Chicago. I ended up sitting on top of the toilet, projectile vomiting all over the bathroom. While the dude who came with me uh slept with my uh date in the bed next to me. I thought it was good. Nothing but I left my tuxedo coat there.
SPEAKER_03Wonderful.
SPEAKER_00My only participants movie. Like a B B movie. Someone I know drank 240s, which is way worse than any of this. And a loaded revolver fell out of his pocket because he passed out to the couch. Fully loaded, the guy didn't leave without it. That was worse. That was worse than that.
SPEAKER_01That's worse. Yeah, that was worse than my projectile vomiting.
SPEAKER_00Once we caught it on the floor, we handled it all responsibly, but you know, and then waited until the guy sobered up before we gave him his gun back.
SPEAKER_02This is very pleasant. We said a lot of this stuff.
SPEAKER_03You remember those uh the stave projects that they were doing, the the cherry one that we did?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03When we that shit was good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03It was 80 bucks a bottle, but it was good.
SPEAKER_02We still have some, yeah. They've asked us to come down to do pick, but I'm just gun shy on makers right now because it doesn't really fly. Yeah. And it's an expensive barrel. Yes. They're not cheap bottles. That's another thing that's a problem. And I have brandy to buy. Exactly.
SPEAKER_01Onyx and Amber, the mythical pick is supposed to be bottled in a week and a half. Nice.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's gonna be ridiculous.
SPEAKER_01And the Barton 18 is supposed to be at the 11th.
SPEAKER_00That's gonna be the best off the shelf. Huh? As far as the best off the shelf, we know mythical's gonna win. Of course.
SPEAKER_01Except that doesn't make it to shelves unless you're at almonds.
SPEAKER_00Occasionally. Trademark pending on mythical.
SPEAKER_02Um can I do it in 20? I'm in the middle of a podcast. Okay. Sure.
SPEAKER_03Probably less than that. Like 10. I do like filling a good tank.
SPEAKER_01We're moving on to a logic small bag.
SPEAKER_03I don't even know what that means. This is 95. Tank of what?
SPEAKER_02Carbon dioxide. Oh, you're huffing? Oh, he's got a keg. Um people either have kegs or aquariums. Aquariums. What's that? I'm just kidding. I was not gonna answer that.
SPEAKER_01I wasn't gonna dignify that with an answer. I just thought they were huffing up dioxides. They're absolutely breathing CO2.
SPEAKER_02Blow your house down.
SPEAKER_00Logic.
SPEAKER_03The uh 80% of CO2 in the environment's not enough. I need pure CO2. Last time I had Logic?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's lounge.
SPEAKER_03I don't think it's 80 though, but that's okay. It's a lot. It's just hanging out in a cow pasture. That's what I meant.
SPEAKER_01How's that work?
SPEAKER_02I'm surprised he didn't hear that.
SPEAKER_01What's that? I said, how about hanging out in a cow pasture? Would that work too? Same thing as huffing it straight.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. That's mostly methane though.
SPEAKER_01Oh, sorry. I gotta I got my gases mixed up. Different greenhouse gas gases mixed up.
SPEAKER_03Nobody here has any hold on green straight.
SPEAKER_01I'm out on chemistry. That's why I never wanted to be a distiller.
SPEAKER_00I'll just buy the juice already made. Organic macromolecules are very weird.
SPEAKER_01That's what I always say. Never thought that would come out in this podcast. That statement.
SPEAKER_00But all we know is alcohols and carboxylic acids make ex make esters. So we do know that. Esters smell nice. They do.
SPEAKER_02Some of them esters we like. Very good.
SPEAKER_00Doesn't mean you pour vinegar into vodka. Because that will make an ester, but that might not be the ester you want. I don't think it will be. Ethanoic acid, it's a carboxylic acid, so I'm going to eat the organic term, ethnoic. So it's a carboxylic acid. Sure. And then vodka, of course, ethanol.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Should make an ester. At least that's what the chemists always say. I see. Organic chemistry over here. An unclear science. I'm not a chemist, I just play one on TV. At least I'd like to. All our nerds are going wild right now because they're listening to this.
SPEAKER_01The carboxylocks, yeah! I knew if I kept listening, they'd get on this topic eventually. It only took 200 episodes. We're only 275 episodes in. It's a good payoff. Elijah Craig here. This is yeah, this is spicier. So this is our second Heaven Hill. It's a little younger, too. It tastes a little younger. It's the only thing I've gotten a little youth on so far.
SPEAKER_02Is Elijah Craig a different mash bill than Avan Williams?
SPEAKER_01It is youthful. I would assume. They're not like Buffalo Trace where they put the same mash bill in 900 different labels. Sorry.
SPEAKER_02Buffalo Trace has two to play with. These guys have more to play with, though. More to play with. Mash bills.
SPEAKER_01It is the same mash bill, actually. It is? 781210. Just age in different parts of the Rick House, I guess. Probably. Improve. Right. Single barrel versus a batch product. So this is almost this is eight years old.
SPEAKER_02That's a popular whiskey. I remember it was taken off the shelf for Short time because they couldn't keep up regionally. Right. And then it was back, and that used to be, I want to say 20 bucks a bottle at one point. Not a long time ago either.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But the prices are starting to come down again. The downward pressure is real. Thank you, Sazra. You're welcome.
SPEAKER_01That's all my doing. Specifically you. That's a podcast we need to do buzz ball tasting.
SPEAKER_02I can't do that.
SPEAKER_01That'd be a stunning game.
SPEAKER_02You need uh four young people here.
SPEAKER_01I thought I had four young people.
SPEAKER_02I heard it's very popular amongst the TikTokers.
SPEAKER_01It's very popular. Yeah. It's like the top alcohol TikToker. Is it like 12%?
SPEAKER_02I think it's 16. 16%. Alcohol, yeah. That product has been around since 09, I think. Until Sazraq bought it, no one knew about it. It's a caffeine, right? No. No, it's just uh buzz. Colorful liquid that comes in a little plastic ball. Like a tennis ball. Tennis ball. Um buzz ball because it gives you a buzz.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02But so my mind, my mind went to four loco. No, it's not that. That formula. That formula is not cool anymore, I think. It killed a couple of kids.
SPEAKER_00Allegedly.
SPEAKER_01Caffeine and alcohol.
SPEAKER_00Though interestingly, caffeine and alcohol, so if you guys are familiar with the conference DEF CON, the used to be the biggest hacker con, still a hacker con, but things have changed a bit.
SPEAKER_01I think this is the third time you brought this up.
SPEAKER_00They have a competition called Capture the Flag where you have to hack certain things. They hack you back. And for Loco and Vodka Red Bull are very popular because people don't want the jitters over the keyboard, but they want the energy so they can reverse engineer computer code and figure out exactly how to hack that thing. How to hack that mystery binary. And that it was the drink of choice for a long time was either 4 Loco or Vodka Red Bull. To the point that they would even provide that as part of the tournament.
SPEAKER_03So they want the caffeine to keep them alert, and then they want the alcohol to counteract the effects of the colours. To calm that down from the jitter and the anxiety so they can say focus. That is a very funny.
SPEAKER_02I think that's a post-use justification.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02They're excuse.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. It's a placebo effect. This is why I like it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. No, you don't.
SPEAKER_01Do you know the story behind Buzzballs, how it was created? No. It's woman. Woman created, woman-owned. It was created by a lady, I think Texas or California. Okay. She wanted to have a drink by the pool. So she wanted something that was plastic and portable. And that's how she came up with that. She hadn't heard of a cocktail in a plastic cup. She wanted to make her own path.
SPEAKER_02She's a woman in business. If you're gonna give me a story behind a product, at least make it believable. That was believable. I don't believe it. I'm not buying it.
SPEAKER_03She started as a cottage producer. It was grassroots.
SPEAKER_01All she had on hand were tennis ball containers. Are you also gonna be able to do that? So she was making mixed drinks in tennis ball containers.
SPEAKER_02Usually the tennis ball containers, not one ball container. She cut them down. Oh, I see. I see. You have an answer for everything.
SPEAKER_01It's in the playbook. That's how they teach you. Depends on which playbook. So now we're on to Wild Turkey 101, which is the final one in our battle bottle bust. Bigger, stronger, beefier turkey.
SPEAKER_02Funkier. Tastier is the term I was looking for.
SPEAKER_01That's what you were looking for for this?
SPEAKER_02This is my Manhattan whiskey. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01This was my standard batter mix with R0. It's got the turkey proof. You can have a couple. It's lighter than a couple of the other ones.
SPEAKER_02Even the houses are so much more interesting.
SPEAKER_00We'll remember Trevor when he went to Fourth Street Dive. Or Third Street Dive, whichever one it is. In Louisville? Yeah, because they're small turkey. It's yeah. Around 4th Street Live, but it's also 4th Street Dive because the live one is not so good. The dive is actually way better. And then Trevor the Cockroach gave his life next door, the Smash Burger. What are you talking about? Okay. Usually stories need context. But part of the meme. Part of the meme is it gets thrown in there. So it's a meme. A good friend of mine had figured out all the issues in healthcare.gov. There was a really famous hacker conference called DerbyCon. Back then. And so Dave Kennedy was a big whistleblower in the security issues with healthcare.gov. And during his conference, someone had a milkshake across the street, and there was a cockroach. Instead of just complaining and carrying out, they understood accidents happen. So they decided to name the cockroach Trevor. And they built a big memorial. There was a candlelight vigil outside the Smash Burger in Louisville for Trevor the Cockroach. And then later on, Dave was summoned by CNN to talk, and he said, Well, I was actually discussing this with my good friend Trevor over a milkshake and snuck that in. So 4th Street, 3rd Street, if you can sneak in Trevor the Cockroach, Trevor Forget was trending on Twitter for about two months, thanks to a bunch of hackers using Twitter.
SPEAKER_03That was incredibly convoluted. Not that interesting.
SPEAKER_00You asked. I tried to not say that sneak it in. Yeah, but you started telling the story, so you wanted to talk about it. Otherwise, it's a non-sequitur. Exactly.
SPEAKER_01Parker's first time on Mike has been an interesting one so far. He's added the cut him out.
SPEAKER_00You can edit me edit the parts of that.
SPEAKER_01That's enjoyable. 4th Street Live. I spent many a weekend at 4th Street Live when I was younger.
SPEAKER_00I don't even know what that is. That's called How to Mark Up Prices.
SPEAKER_01It used to be the Galleria downtown. It was on 4th Street downtown. Okay. And they put a bunch of bars, like Hard Rock Cafe was down there. There was like Have a Nice Day Cafe. There's a bunch of bars.
SPEAKER_00In the middle of the street, a really bad band is performing, and then everyone raises their prices?
SPEAKER_01They normally have live music in the middle of the road. They cut it off. You can't drive through there anymore. You still have to drive through there. There used to be a gallery I went down there with my mom when I was a little kid. But now it's just all bars and get drunk and party, rub up against people.
SPEAKER_02So the question is, did the cockroach get in the milkshake after the milkshake was made? Or were there pieces of him blended in the milkshake?
SPEAKER_00What I've heard is he came right through the straw. So like, what the hell is this?
SPEAKER_01That's a big ass straw.
SPEAKER_00So it must have been a small cockroach.
SPEAKER_02So how do we know it was a cockroach?
SPEAKER_00They put him down, they cleaned him off, and then they found out it's Trevor. And it's Trevor the cockroach. I'm not buying this story. Okay, well, there's a lot of evidence. We will get it.
SPEAKER_02I feel like the story has been promulgated by one guy. No, lots of guys.
SPEAKER_00Shmookan. Shmook on Shmookan in DC. Please stop messing with the hotel because all of the people. This is incredible. All of their computer screens like at hotels, people make drawings of Trevor and then updated their group policy for Active Directory. So every machine at that Hilton's computer showed with his cockroach the drawing of it. It's like get him to the Greek. Oh I believe you.
SPEAKER_01It's like giving you the Greek when he's smoking the the uh the Jeffrey, but he's smoking the Trevor now.
SPEAKER_02Yes, now the drugs are made after Trevor.
SPEAKER_01Touch the fuzzy wall. Touch the fuzzy wall. Alright. Let's finish this. We're at 30 minutes. This has gone slightly out of the way.
SPEAKER_02This is my favorite of the really alright.
SPEAKER_01Well we won't. You were supposed to rank them and not give away your favorite.
SPEAKER_02Oh, rank them? Um Turkey one. Oh, one to one through five, like okay. Turkey is number one for me. Um Rose is number two, makers number three, and then we have um Singamera four and Elijah five.
SPEAKER_00I would concur with that. I'll concur. And I'll add to that. So Wes and I used to regularly stay at this Airbnb, and we'd a specific spot above the above the kitchen shelves where we hid a bottle of Wild Turkey 101, specifically so when we stayed there again, we knew where it was. No one else knew. That's right. And that was a choice because that's what we get off the shelf over there. So we'll put our money where our mouth is. That's what we hid.
SPEAKER_02See, that's a good story.
SPEAKER_03Way better than relevant. Believable. Exactly. Believable.
SPEAKER_01I'll go a little bit different. I'll go four roses, number one. Okay. I can see that. I'm split on wild turkey and makers. But I do agree with the last two. I think Elijah Craig was easily, well not easily, but it was the least the least likable for me. Turns out the last one. I like the sweeterness, the fruit and candy on the sweeterness. Yeah. I like sweetness. Alright, well, anybody got anything to say to say in closing? God bless Trevor the Cockroach.
SPEAKER_00Trevor Forget. And ShmoushCon, or what was the ShmooCon. Long live DerbyCon. Thank you, Dave, for many years of a great con. Long live Fourth Street Live. Trevor Forever. Third Street Trevor Forever.
SPEAKER_02Trevor Burrus.
SPEAKER_00Okay, Trevor Forget.
SPEAKER_02I want Trevor anymore. TJF Fridays and Hard Rock Cafes. This is how conversations are started now. Trevor.
SPEAKER_01Alright. Until next time, enjoy your pours and enjoy your family.
