Today's episode is about guides and a few ways to connect with them. Spirit guides have been part of various spiritual traditions and practices across cultures for centuries. They are often described as beloved, nonphysical entities that offer guidance, support and wisdom to individuals on their spiritual and personal journeys. Today, we'll explore the concept of spirit guides, their roles and a few practical methods for connecting with them. Spirit guides are thought to be higher dimensional beings or manifestations of Divine Wisdom that assist individuals in navigating their life. They can take various forms, including guardian angels, believed to be personal protectors. They could be ancestors, deceased relatives who offer guidance or based on family wisdom, pass on knowledge. They can be Ascended Masters, considered to be enlightened beings who are no longer in the physical form, or animal guides, spirits that embody animal characteristics and offer insights. You can refer to my series on animal medicine, A through Z, last year's series of podcasts for more information. The concept of spirit guides is prevalent in many spiritual and religious traditions. You can find them in indigenous cultures. They often involve animal totem totems and ancestral spirits. In Eastern traditions, quite often it's Ascended Masters, including entities of enlightened beings in Buddhism and in the New Age spirituality that emphasizes personal spirit guides and their roles in individual enlightenment when it comes to connecting with spirit guides. The first step is probably developing an awareness first of their presence, and this involves meditation, because meditation can help quiet the mind, and It can become more Attuned to subtle energies, raising your vibration is one of the things that meditation helps with. You might try journaling, keeping a journal of dreams and intuitive insights that might form a pattern related to spiritual guidance. Probably one of the most important things is to set intentions so clear intentions are important for establishing a connection with spirit guides. And what I mean by clear intentions is you want to clarify your purpose. You have to understand why you want to connect to spirit guides. Are you seeking guidance? Are you looking for protection? Are you looking for wisdom? Are you wanting to improve the quality of your life? So it's important to state clear intentions, verbally or mentally, express your desire to connect with your guides, making it very clear and then very specific as to why you're connecting. Meditation is a powerful tool for making that connection and then visualization, where you imagine a serene space where you can meet your spirit guides and can visualize this place vividly and invite them to appear. Another thing you could do is a guided meditation. You can use a recording or a script designed to facilitate connections. There are multiple, multiple spirit guide connection YouTubes out there. And then in your daily life, start paying attention to signs. Spirit guides often communicate through subtle signs, and the biggest one is probably synchronicities, where you notice a coincidence or a pattern in your daily life that seems meaningful, or it could be something that you've asked for, like, please show me a heads-up penny, if such and such is what I should do. Please let me find feathers in unexpected places if I am supposed to take such and such a path and then pay attention to gut feelings or inner nudges that can guide your decision, intuitive feelings, or sometimes I call it that still, quiet voice that that voice that you get that repeats itself without emotion, and you know it uses language that isn't yours. Pay attention to those gut feelings or inner nudges, and, of course, engaging in spiritual practices, regular spiritual practices can strengthen your connection with spirit guides. There are many rituals and ceremonies that could honor your spirit guides and invite them in. And then energy work like practices such as Reiki or chakra balancing, or my favorite is healing touch, of which I am certified in, that can all help align your energy with that of your guides. Then, like anything in life, you need a good, strong relationship, building a meaningful relationship with the spirit guides, and that involves consistency, making connecting with your spirit guides a regular part of of your spiritual practice, and then trust develop trust in the guidance You receive, even if it doesn't align with your immediate desires or expectations, even if it seems like something that's really out there, trust your spirit guides and see where that leads. So connecting with spirit guides is a deeply personal and transformative process by rating your awareness, setting clear intentions and using perhaps meditation techniques and journaling, paying attention to signs or even asking for signs and engaging in spiritual practices all along, building a trusting relationships, you can develop a meaningful connection, whether through cultural tradition or personal exploration. The journey to connect with spirit guides often will give you profound insights and support on the path of personal and spiritual growth. So let's just take a minute to quickly go through a short meditation of calling in our personal spirit, guide, our guardian angel, which is usually the easiest one to come forward, because it has been with us since birth. Perhaps you had an imaginary friend when you were growing up and found out later that that is your guardian angel. You might even have a childhood name for that guardian angel. I know I wanted to name every single baby doll I had, Laura May and as I grew out of the doll phase and now into adulthood, I have realized that my guardian angel likes to be called La Baz. It's kind of close to Laura Mae, but the energy of this guardian angel is still consistent with my childhood friend, so just a little aside there. So let's begin by just finding a quiet place where you can just clear your mind and get comfortable. Take some nice deep breaths, and let's breathe through the mouth. For a change, breathe in the sweet nectar of life.

You can even swallow it and feel it go down your throat and down into your heart like a sweet nectar or sweet honey, swallowing sunshine, swallowing the joys of the present moment, and then breathe out however you wish, back out through your mouth, or it can be through your nose, and visualize that all negativity, toxin and debris are all being pushed out of your body and are falling onto Mother Earth to be recycled into something new and beautiful again, through your mouth, Breathe in the sweet nectar of life. Feel its warmth and thickness, be swallowed and go down your throat, into your heart, swirl around and go down into your ribs and into your stomach, then breathe out negativity, toxins, debris and diseases letting them fall into Mother Earth to be recycled and one more nice mouth, breath, swallow that sweet flavor of life, sweet syrup or nectar of living. Let it go down into your throat, heart, ribs, stomach and hips, and then breathe out anything that isn't joyful, anything that isn't part of the sweet nectar of life. Breathe that out …any negativity, any toxins, any debris and send it away from your body and let it trap down into Mother Earth, like light falling rain to be recycled and now in your mind's eye or imagination, scan your body for any areas of tenseness, any stress that might be in for instance, your shoulders, your center back, your hips of your knees, perhaps your wrists or hands, and wherever there's discomfort, tighten those muscles. Really, really, really tight, and then breathe out and loosen those muscles. Do this a few times until that area of pain is released. You can use our previous technique and blow that pain away from your body on an out breath, and in your imagination, watch it gently float onto the floor now behind your closed eyelids, and in your imagination, there's a movie screen behind your eyelids. And in this visualization, there's a beautiful, comforting feeling…a. mist. Perhaps it's tinted a little bit with pink or magenta. The color of the mist is personal. It's yours. It's the mist that beyond your guardian angel waits for you. So visualize it in full Living Color, and as the mist lifts, there's a beautiful garden, and your guardian angel is sitting very peacefully on a garden bench among these beautiful blooms, the angel is welcoming you to come over and sit on the bench. So move there, almost like floating and sit beside him or her. Take a little bit of time to feel their energy meld with your energy, feel that nurturing and caring spirit, and take some time to ask questions. What would you like their guidance for? How would you like to meet them in the future? The same way. How would you like to receive their messages, perhaps signs or symbols like feathers or butterflies or hummingbirds or pennies, or would you like to be able to turn on your car radio and have the lyrics of the first song the message to you? The restriction is only as restricted as your imagination. Let it be creative,

and thank your guardian angel for being your personal protector and guide, suggest ways to connect in the Future or repeat this particular procedure we've just done.
