Welcome to the anxiety prepare podcast as always that we get started not only for you, listeners, but also for myself and my beautiful guest in centering and in grounding. Because it's possible, you've had a long day, there's been a lot going on, and you're ready to become present. And to receive exactly what it is that you need to receive from this time. So taking a moment just to tune into that area of your heart center. And just allowing your breath to breathe in and out as if you were breathing in and out through your heart center. And maybe even imagining that as you do this, your heart is even growing a little bit bigger and a little bit more expensive. Noticing as your heart becomes bigger that your capacity to love yourself, as well as others is also increasing with every single breath. And so the invitation during this time is that as you breathe, your heart continues to grow, so that you are able to hold not only more love for yourself, but also more love for the people in your life as well as humanity and our Earth. So today on the podcast I'm very excited to welcome Christine Agha, she is an NLP mindset coach an evidential medium, which I can't wait to hear more about what that is and energy healer. Christine supports women that struggle with being highly sensitive and feel like their emotions have control over them. For the past nine years, she has helped hundreds of women learn how to master their energy emotions, heal, reprogram their mindset for success and awaken their intuition to live a soul at life. She is passionate about women feeling confident, empowered and showing up in their lives as the best version of themselves. And Christine works with women both in online private coaching just such sessions as well as I just heard that she has a lot of free master classes that she hosts. So that's also really wonderful and being of service and I'm kind of wishing that like I was just having a session with you. Welcome to Lagos. Welcome. Thank you. Thank you so much for being here. So I hear this all the time from my clients that they feel like they're crazy. And then as we get into our sessions as we go a little bit deeper, it's like oh, wait actually There's all these energies around me that are impacting my own feelings. So tell me, tell me all the things What's happening here? what's what's going on? What do you see and the women that you work with?

05:14

So we all have our own energy field, we all have this beautiful our aura around us. And there are some amazing ways that we can strengthen our aura. Often, what happens is that we set out our aura, how strong our aura is depend on impacts our sensitivity to other people. And as empaths, or if you identify as an empath, and you also have this belief, so there's a belief system underlying what's happening in your physical reality. So you are you feel other people's energy? Almost just as strong as your own? Yeah. And then there's this confusion as to well, Is this mine, or is this someone else's, and you'll know, if you get impacted by other people's energy, because you might be feeling really great, and walk into a room full of people and feel overwhelmed by the energy, or just walk into a room and completely feel the mood, whether it's really and it could be really high vibe, or it could be really low vibe, right? And so in that atmosphere, in that environment, you really feel it and you don't just feel it like oh, okay, well, this mood here, you feel it in your body. So sometimes it can create an anxiety for you if it's a really uncomfortable place. So you will feel that things that you might, you know, depends how you experience anxiety. Some people feel like a gut, a gut sensation, some people feel it in their chest, some people feel their heart, right. Some people get that nervousness, and they might sweat. So, you know, there's lots of different ways that we can experience that sensitivity.

07:12

Yeah, so interesting, because I'm just thinking, this starts when we're kids, right? So, it I'm just thinking of all the people that have been diagnosed with social anxiety disorder are just, they're empaths. Like, they're picking up on the social energy that it's not in this bad way. But it's so interested in me, and it's why I started this podcast is because I wanted to have these conversations that are outside of this diagnosis model. Where, okay, yeah, we've labeled it as social anxiety disorder, and therefore we're going to treat it with cognitive behavioral therapy. And this is what we're going to do when exposure and all of that. However, if you're not understanding, if you don't understand that you're an empath, and you're actually picking up the energies of other people, you're kind of always going to struggle.

08:06

Yeah, way. Yeah. And, and, and that comes down to as well. Like really looking at the subconscious beliefs, they're so or Yes, we're, we are experiencing it as a physical reality and experiencing the sensations in our body. And we're experiencing the emotion. And if we can have a look at so it's that whole label as well, even the label of an empath. So some people hold that so true, that they can see. It almost works against them. So it's like they go into this victim mode. And they take and then they allow that label to take away their power. So they don't think I could do about

08:53

it, I just have to feel this way and stay home and you know, put myself in a cocoon. Yeah,

08:59

I just have to live this way. I'm an introvert, I, you know, I withdraw, I need this many hours a day, and then it becomes this many hours a day, and then it increases and increases. And then you isolate yourself because of this belief system. So it's great to understand that there's a reason you know, we all want a reason for why we're feeling a certain way. And so it's great to understand that it's not okay to give it give your power away to that thing. And then allow yourself to be run by that belief system or by that labor, like you said, even with the social anxiety, yes. And so working with your subconscious beliefs and reprogram reprogramming them at that level and understanding, you know, well, how did I get here you don't need to know all of the details, but just like wearing my childhood, might this have started and I am a I'm a believer of psychology and counseling and because I went through this Before I had a look at these different modalities, and what I do know, though, is when you really have the tools to reprogram at a subconscious level. So you could, for example, if you have this belief that I am heavily impacted by the energy of others, you're going to continue to manifest that reality. And it's going to gain momentum, and it's going to get stronger, and the law of attraction is going to attract more of those experiences for you. And now it's just going to become your identity. But those things that you experience are not you. They're, they're just an experience. So if you were to reframe that belief, and I use a modality called psych K, that that rewires at a subconscious level, you actually feel that you can test that after we do that. If you change that to the only person that can impact my energy is me. So then you move yourself into this place of choice where Okay, doesn't mean you're not going to feel it, you're going to feel it. But you have a choice at that point, am I going to allow this to impact me? Am I going to allow these outside and sometimes feeling inside? Am I going to allow this reality to impact my experience? Yeah, or am I going to realize that hold on a second, I'm, I'm in a place of choice. And I can stand in my power. And even though I feel that I can still stand really grounded in my energy, and just allow that to either move through me or wash off me. And that might be a visual practice that you do, where you see yourself in developed in a cloak of protection or a golden bubble. So you can set yourself up before you go out, you can set yourself up every morning, every evening, right? There's lots of different tools that you can use to do that. But also, when you're in the experience, that present moment is the most powerful time. So what am I going to do here? Am I going to allow this to impact my whole evening? Am I gonna allow it to impact my time with my children? And am I gonna allow it to impact this time that I have with my partner? Or am I just gonna feel it, let it go and move on? Because I'm empowered. Right?

12:29

And it sounds like it's that that value based choice versus the feeling based choice of I don't feel like doing I don't feel like being here. But there's a part of me that wants to connect with people that wants to be a part of this environment, or to live my life in this certain way. But I'm letting or these fears that are coming up from the sensitivity are pulling me away from those things. Exactly. Yeah. So So how I just want to hear a little, you know, I'm sure you have a very long story for how you came into this awareness, but was there? Because if someone's wondering, alright, how do I know if I, if I'm this empath, or maybe I just have anxiety? How do I figure this out? I guess, you know, so maybe hearing a little bit about your story would be helpful.

13:29

Yeah. So how I figured it out was like, even though I have the reason or the label now, and I understand where it's coming from, is to really connect with what is happening in my experience, and heal what's happening in my life, rather than continue reading about all these things that other people have experienced. Because in that as well, that can really impact your own reality, too. That can, you know, you can take on like reading someone else's strip, I don't watch the news news, for example. Yeah, because I know that it doesn't make me feel good. And if it doesn't make me feel good, then I have, it's a real, it's an opportunity for me to allow the energy of the collective fee to come into my energy system. And I choose to not do that. So when, about 10 years ago, after my second son was born, he stopped breathing. He was three weeks old, and we had this traumatic experience where I was just holding him and I went over to open a drawer and he'd just been fed. And he there must have been some wind, like wind issues or something. But I just felt him clam up and He's he was going red and my mother in law was turning upside down and blowing in his face. And he was turning blue. And it was just awful. So from that moment in time, lots of things, different things happen. I turned into a nervous wreck. That was the trigger for severe anxiety and postnatal depression for me. Yeah, of course. Yeah. So that was huge for me. And what I started realizing was that I was manifesting all of these physical symptoms, that were an indication that I had some deep work to do around the anxiety around healing, the anxiety. And the set, there were things like I had an episode of SVT, which is a heart condition. It's like your heart palpitations. Apparently 220 beats per minute. Oh, my goodness. Scary. So yeah, coming out of my chest. Wow. And so that was an indication for me to get help. And I went to the doctor, and asked, I just said, I need to see the psychologist, like, I need help. If I feel like, I felt like I was the will all these symptoms. So I was feeling really unfulfilled. I was feeling like, being a mum wasn't enough for me. And that's can be really hard for a mom too. Yes, that guilt that, you know, can come with that belief. Yeah, totally. And admit, and I also felt like I had lost my sense of self. Now that's a really big indication that something else is happening. Because I felt like my entire life, I'd been so invested in what other people thought of me. And so invested in how to be the most accepted person for for different relationships, right? Like be a chameleon. I was a chameleon. Yeah, like, Yeah, I was this person I could draw on. And that's another thing of the impact, right? You can draw on so many different qualities, you can be with someone, and almost feel like a reflection of that person, because you're feeling that person's energies. And it's, it's an amazing ability to build rapport. And really connect with a person. So you might find that you're great at one on one interactions, like you can connect with people at a really deep heart level, because you show up in this like, open energy. And you can feel what they're feeling. And so like this thing that you can talk about, right, like,

17:48

yeah, validation. Yeah. The thing with that, though, when you live like that, for so long, is that you can feel that sense of, you don't know who you are anymore. You don't know what makes you happy anymore. Because you've been so busy making other people happy, and doing things to make other people happy. But in some way, that secondary gain that you're getting from that is that it makes you really happy because you love helping people. Right? Yeah, there's part of you that just really loves being of service and you love making people happy. You love making people smile. And that's a really beautiful quality. It's just not a great thing. If you're valuing someone else more than yourself. Yeah. And you lose yourself in that process.

18:36

Yeah, so it sounds like this idea of balanced care versus over caring about what other people think of you. Because you're right, it's, you're never gonna make everybody like you not. And that's a hard pill to swallow. I think for most of us, especially, you know, those of us that I very much relate to that experience of like, I just, I don't want to make anybody upset, I'll just be really quiet, I'll keep my needs, you know, to the side. And then for me, usually what happens is if there's like a build up, and then it's like, the leader. Great either, right, like so we want, you know, the goal of well being is to honor our own needs as well as other you know, especially our loved ones need so it doesn't feel like this, like oh my gosh, like and I'm so angry and I have to like pull back my power because I've given all of it.

19:40

Yeah, exactly. And it's like this idea of, you know, how long can you give from an empty cup without feeling complete and utter resentment and then turned into anger and frustration and that's when you blow up. Because you just haven't, you know, there's a difference between giving From an you're an overflow, versus getting from this empty cup. Yeah. And so let's look at

20:10

empaths specifically, and maybe you could share your own experience of this of

20:16

now, do you?

20:20

This is not like us, it's not the right word that I want to have. But how can you kind of use other people's energies to fill up your own cup? Like, is there a way like, I'm just thinking like alchemy? Like, rather than coming in that victim place? Like how do you recognize that you're sensitive? And you also want to be around other people? And how can you bring that you know, within yourself so that you almost like you're filling your cup by being with others versus feeling overwhelmed and drained by being with others?

20:57

That is an amazing question. And the simplest answer to that is you don't, but I will tell you what you do do? Because there's, um, you know, there will be repercussions of thinking about it that way, because then you're relying on other people's energy to, to build up your own. Yeah. And probably you've actually been doing that anyway. So there's part of you that like, knows that you thrive in a certain Well, actually, okay. So now that I'm saying that, what you might do, if you are thinking about it that way, is listen to a lot of white noise. And what I mean by that is listen to audiobooks. And listen on a daily basis, even if it's just 10 minutes a day, if you're feeling like you can't get your energy into a great place. What's a great time to do that is first thing in the morning. Because then it sets you set yourself up for the day, you set the tone for the day by listening to that white noise. And so drawn people like Wayne Dyer, or Louise Hay, or people that you know, this is how I see it. Like in my experience, and what helps me I look for people that feel like they have a really pure energy. So they're not trying to shake other people up by, you know, tapping into their pain. And because there's a lot of that out there, right. There's a lot of mindset coaches, and there's a lot of influence influences out there that to get people's attention. They tap and amplify their pain. Yeah. Fear, or fear. And then tell them about the pleasure. Like it's a real self. Right? Yeah. Marketing model. Yeah. So like, if you have a look at people like Wayne Dyer, or Louise Hay, it's very, it's a very pure energy. You're not trying, like very affirmation based. It's very law of attraction. How can we manifest? How can we do it from a place of love? So I find when I'm tapping into those kind of energies, then, you know, the great thing about being so sensitive, is that you can tap into those energies, because you're so open, and it will just lift your energy right up with it. You'll feel that, yeah, that was great. Yeah, that's one way. Now. The second way is, this is everything. And it's perfect. Like, I believe that prevention is so much better than a QR.

23:31

So much. So, yeah. So the way that I look at that, and the one thing that I really believe saved my life, is meditation. And for an empath, this for a highly sensitive person, this is you can, this experience of meditation can be just so fun. Because you in that place, you can really connect to the voice of your soul, you can connect to everything you ever need, internally to fill you up more than you could ever, ever imagine. Or more than anything in your outside world over cord. And if you continue creating a practice, around connecting in through your heart space, to in like a direct line into the heart of Mother Earth, a direct client up into up to this just place of the Divine and like Call it whatever you want. Some people call it soul. Some people call it God, some people call it higher self, whatever it is, right? But the point is that you're connecting to this higher power this it's like you're plugging into this source energy that can give you all of the love this unconditional love all of the support that you could ever need divine support and the great thing about being highly sensitive Or an empath is that you have this almost like it's a natural ability to hear beyond the physical hearing, to see beyond the physical sight like to see beyond what you see visually. You have this ability and to manifest anything you want, because your imagination can be so amazing that you feel it right law of attraction manifestation, like live creating the life that you want, living as the best best version of yourself really comes from connecting to that source, and then visually, and viscerally like feeling what it is that you want to feel. And so we can't really easily because we're not disconnected from our emotions, it might be much harder for some people that have experienced trauma, or abuse, like you know, lots of different other things, because they've created a coping mechanism where they're disconnected, numb from their body and those kinds of things. Sure, yeah. But coming back to that, and coming back into who you really are, and opening up to those, call them intuitive abilities, called them psychic abilities, whatever they are, that's your guidance system, that's all you need. And you feel protected, when you're connecting in every day, the energy and your aura becomes stronger and stronger and stronger. So that you'll find that you'll walk into a room and feel you, you'll feel love and your light will shine into that room, your energy will radiate into that room and lift other people up rather than the opposite. You know, the opposite situation where you're walking in and your aura is not strong and you haven't done that connection connecting and you're not feeling filled up. And then it all that means is you're in a lower vibration. So you pick up on your attract more of the low vibration. Within your station, you really raise your frequency, you raise your vibration, and you increase your luck, like the the amount of light that you hold, quite literally. And so, you know, you'll find that toxic relationships will fall away really easily, even though they might hurt initially. Because people might not grow want to grow with you. And that's their journey. But what you can take, what's the word, what you can look forward to, when you are going through that evolution in that growth journey is that you will start to attract the most amazing relationships with people that are also on a journey of evolution and growth and want to grow with you and support you in ways that you never knew possible. You never thought possible because you had all these other relationships that weren't supporting you. Yeah, yeah. So it's that

27:58

mixture of that belief, that intention, and then also that practice of going within, yes, and noticing that all of these are really self guided, you know, that it's really just looking within to see that you are complete, you are perfect just the way you are And that there's like even if you forget to meditate on one day, and you go and you pick up whatever the like lower energies like it's okay. that happen we all we all do it we forget, we get the I the hardest thing for me is to I have, you know, I have a therapist and have many, many, many tools in my toolkit.

28:44

And I forget a lot of them like, Oh, wait, I have this like somatic tool I can use or

28:50

I can do tapping, and it's just we forget, it's okay. And we can be human. And then what I find is that, like, I will see something on the news that's like, Oh, you should push it like that, again. My leg was like this spiral shell, because I think that's how growth works is that we get on this growth path. We sometimes fall off of it,

29:13

but then we get back on.

29:14

It's like, oh, we're we actually took 12 steps during that time that we were off somehow there's still that magic. So I love love.

29:22

Um,

29:23

let's talk a little bit about what an evidential medium is. I'm just curious about that. So I'm betting that listeners are as well.

29:31

Yeah, so an evidential medium is something I didn't even know that this is what it was when it was happening to me is someone that connects to spirit on the other side. So I will connect with people that you that have passed, crossed over your loved ones and they will come through and I will feel them and I will see them and I will see the energy Have them. And they will show me and normally speak to me because I'm very auditory. So I hear them really clearly. They might tell me their names and they give me enough evidence for you to know that this is who that you are actually connected to that person. So you don't tell me anything, they can pretty much come into a session. I don't know them. Sometimes I do. And that just makes it a little bit more nerve wracking for me. But I can always rely on spirit to give me information that I couldn't possibly know about that person. Like, I've done readings for my mum, and readings for my husband. That just kind of happened. They never planned readings with my family members. Okay, yeah. You know, we'll be sitting, we'll be sitting or doing something, and then their loved one will appear next to them and have a message. And that's what an evidential medium is?

30:56

And do you always tell them? Are there times Could you say like, I'm busy right now.

31:04

Okay, so yeah, that's been a practice. So what you can do is, and this is, honestly, this is all about mindset again, and changing things at a subconscious level, but also setting really clear boundaries with spirits. So I set boundaries around them only coming when I'm in a session. Unless it was really, really important. And in that case, I never just give someone a message, because I'll never I just feel like that's not okay to do that. Yeah. I will always say, Are you open to me giving you a message from someone? And when they say yes, then I'll give the message. But yeah, I have very clear boundaries. And so they don't ever just ever get you cannot long sleeping or anything like that. Yeah, we Okay, really, really respectful relationship with each other?

32:02

Is it the same for your neighbors, too? I know, we have heard that, like women, we just have a hard time setting those boundaries of like, No, I'm not to be bothered during the dinner time or whatever.

32:18

I've got really good we sitting there, I've had to get really good at setting boundaries. So I feel like and that was something that's also something that highly sensitive people struggle with, because I don't want to upset anyone and no one I don't want to say no, they don't know. How does it look? No, I learned that no is a complete sentence. Who knew? Yeah.

32:41

Yeah. But yet so hard? Because it's like, no. And maybe you got like a whole page of like, why you're saying no.

32:55

Like, you look over like your kids. They're like, it was puppy dog eyes, like, Alright, whatever.

33:03

You changed me. So I always ask my guests if they have a message of hope that someone who's listening was feeling anxious, feeling overwhelmed by these big emotions, and they're not sure you know it? Am I an empath? Is that me? what's what's going on here? What would you want to say to them?

33:29

Well, the first thing that I would love to say is that, know that you're not alone, because I think you can really feel alone when you're going through that. There is always support, like, there is support everywhere. And if you just put a call out there, into the universe through a prayer, or just like, saying it out loud, like and when I mean, a prayer is just like putting out there like please, like, I need help. And you'll start to see signs, right? Obviously, there are numbers that you can call if you're in a really bad place or speak to your doctor, if if you really need support ASAP. The other the other real message of hope is that everything you ever need is inside of your connection. In your internal world, it's in your inner world, nothing that you ever need is outside of you ever. That is an absolute illusion. Because once you find that in your connection with yourself in that connection with your soul with your higher self, your soul, your higher self wants nothing more than absolute love. It supports you in every single way. What you want is what it wants for you. And so, like trust your desires, trust your inner, do find ways that you can let go of shame or guilt or anything or doubt around the things that you truly want. Because it's those things one To release the resistance around that, it's those things that are really going to connect you to living on purpose, and living in alignment. Everything that you need is within you.

35:14

That's beautiful. Thank you. So where can people find you if they want to learn more?
