every single, you can trust the Bible because it's 100% true, and self-help books have an end, and other texts that are interesting and that they add value to our lives, they have an end to how much you can use it. 00:07:36.500 --> 00:07:42.000 But the Bible is 100% true and 100% accurate, and so we can just rely and trust on it. 00:07:42.240 --> 00:07:45.379 Crave this pure spiritual milk. 00:08:06.600 --> 00:08:18.620 And then it mentions in Hebrews 5, it talks about you guys should be, well here, we'll look at it right here, this author, we don't know who the author is. 00:08:18.699 --> 00:08:21.399 We think pretty reliably it's not Peter. 00:08:21.899 --> 00:08:24.379 It's almost certainly not Peter. 00:08:24.459 --> 00:08:26.079 I guess we don't know for sure. 00:08:26.220 --> 00:08:33.740 But an author, and I understand it was written, we think probably about the same time, maybe a little bit after 1 Peter. 00:08:34.759 --> 00:08:42.480 But it just says, in fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. 00:08:43.019 --> 00:08:44.740 You need milk, not solid food. 00:08:45.419 --> 00:08:56.080 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness, but solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. 00:08:56.779 --> 00:09:13.840 Therefore, let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from accident lead to death and of faith in God, instructions about cleansing rights, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment, and God permitting, we will do so. 00:09:15.299 --> 00:09:29.480 So when she says crave pure spiritual milk, this is communicating that we need to crave a full understanding of what scripture teaches, specifically about some of these doctrines that it talks about. 00:09:29.480 --> 00:09:42.960 And these are ones, this is a majority of the reason why we have a study series at all, that if you want to be a member of the church, we want everyone to be members, but if you want to be a member of the church, we got to go through some studies to make sure we are on the same page with some of these things. 00:09:43.000 --> 00:09:52.179 And so much of what we're doing is unlearning a bad Christian doctrine that's been built up over the course of our lives, excuse me. 00:09:53.120 --> 00:09:59.480 We have to look at repentance, we have to look at faith, we have to look at cleansing rights or this general term of baptisms. 00:09:59.740 --> 00:10:02.360 We have to look at laying out of hands. 00:10:02.559 --> just looked at craved pure spiritual milk and you can see that there's never, in order for a baby to be fed, he needs, he or she needs the mom or they need somebody at least to feed them, right? guys, there's a lot of youngish parents like where you put a baby on a schedule and you feed them. 00:11:09.779 --> 00:11:13.159 And I think the direction from out of the hospital, as much as they grow in this understanding of which maybe it's doctrine or maybe it's just this desire to consume what the Bible teaches in a, in a pure way. 00:11:59.980 --> 00:12:07.840 And I can trust that it's accurate and it's true in, in all of this though, we need to pursue truth and sound doctrine. 00:12:07.960 --> 00:12:12.639 You know, it's really interesting this, okay, cool. 00:12:12.639 --> did, then we'll, we, we can, uh, comment and talk about, or maybe there's just, uh, but if you'd sit, I think you'd realize there's like a general feeling of this inside of the life of a Christian and that there is, there are accusations work with me here being made about anybody who says, I'm a Christian and I follow what the Bible teaches, uh, right. 00:15:47.509 --> 00:15:48.350 There's pretty bad job of, of communicating these difficult things in a way that doesn't draw judgment, but actually brings, brings favor to, uh, to, to our, our teaching. 00:16:42.789 --> 00:17:03.568 Um, you know, I, I was just thinking for myself, some of the things that, that I, as a preacher, Christian preacher, maybe conservative Christian preacher, you could, you could call me, I think you might accuse me or I can be accused of hating homosexuals. 00:17:09.150 --> 00:17:29.029 But what I would say is a gay person better feel more love inside of this church and more hope and more and more, uh, feel more heard than in, than in any other group or area that they could be in, uh, as they interact with me, as those who are homosexual, they better feel a sense of love and a sense of worth just are a bit accused then, but this, this accusation, we have to, we have to take it like what, what, what Peter is saying is if you feel this accusation, go ahead and show them by your good deeds, then removal of the tumor for about eight weeks where we were just kind of waiting to, I had to wait to get tested basically to see if my, my blood markers or whatever, the tumor markers in my blood had gone to normal levels. 00:26:21.119 --> 00:26:25.859 And if they went to normal levels, it would mean no chemotherapy or radiation or whatever. 00:26:26.000 --> 00:26:29.140 There would be no treatment outside of just continual testing. 00:26:29.140 --> 00:26:41.759 Um, but if there was some kind of, you know, they, they found some tumor marker or there was something that, that escaped basically, or they got somewhere, then they would have, you know, prescribed some kind of, uh, some kind of treatment. 00:26:42.240 --> 00:26:46.240 And I, I remember feeling resolved to do whatever was necessary to kill the cancer. 00:26:46.359 --> 00:27:01.740 But I, I also remember there being like a silver lining of sorts that I, I connected that my mom, in some way that if I would have to go through chemotherapy or some kind of radiation or whatever, I'd be able to connect with my mom. 00:27:02.200 --> 00:27:03.400 She's, she's in heaven. 00:27:03.519 --> 00:27:08.220 She's, she's, she's passed away, but I'd be able to connect with her and some of her suffering a little bit better. 00:27:08.539 --> 00:27:13.619 And my relationship with her in some inexplicable way would, would should be an encouragement for you and me then, because that means when we're suffering and if we use it to connect with God and we use it to relate, when somebody says something bad about you, you
