The Hopecast-Episode 118-Walking Your Friend Through Trauma and Tragedy Part 1 with Kindra McNamee
This changed everything. On an unsuspecting phone call "just to check in," Rachael told Kindra that Micah had been shot. Soon alerts were coming through on Kindra's phone that an officer had been killed in a shooting in Colorado Springs.
Shocked and shaken by the death of her and her husband's long time friend, Kindra stepped bravely into the days, weeks and months to come as a comforter, practical support and battle tested intercessor.
"I knew the Lord had not called me to care for the other family and friends who were affected by Micah's death. My assignment, my anointing, was to be there for you. It was simply to be your person."
"I intentionally, physically, kept my hand on you as you were escorted to various activities. I listened to the Lord minute by minute for His direction in how to support you in this place where I had no wisdom or practical experience of my own."
Listen as Kindra and Rachael talk about sitting shiva in the immensity of grief. Kindra recounts balancing the demands of planning two huge funerals, filtering needs and requests, and setting the boundaries that protected the family.
This episode is a story of a beautiful love between two friends. Tested and tried through death and loss, you'll be empowered and encouraged by the faithful provision of God that enabled them to write new chapters of a healing journey.
