How does this make week sorry, reflect to each and every one of us as we are just gathering as we are being still as the church is doing, what the church is doing? Performance of the church and everything that's going on through Holy Week and everything. Let's turn to the book of Titus. Yes, we are going to the book of Titus tonight in the New Testament. We are in the book of Titus. And that is sandwiched, that is sandwiched very clearly in the New Testament between to Timothy and the book of fire Lehmann. Let's just turn. The lights are purposely a bit low tonight just to cope and see how we go. So God bless you. Thank you so much. Yes, God bless you, too. I can see you. And thank you so much for your comments. In the mighty name of Jesus, He is worthy of all praise. And as we gather around these mics, you know this week as we see what's happening in the world of the church, as we see what's happening across the globe, as we come together as brothers and sisters, as we recognize of what is happening around. But I just want to ask you right now, the simple question is, and are we saved? Are we saved? That is the question, are we saved? Who are we, in Christ Jesus, in the book of Titus, chapter three, verses three through to verse seven. Now, as we have a look at the Scripture, just give me a moment there, just to put that there. And interestingly, interestingly, Paul is the author of this writing, to Titus, as you look at very clear introduction of who the New Testament writer is here. But as we look in chapter three, at verse three, I would just like to read us just a few scriptures from right through to the end of verse six. So if we look at around about to the end of verse six, as we just gather as we rest in the presence of God, as you get yourself together, very simply, the book of Titus are really, really, really small chapters. Very small book, indeed, three chapters, but really, impact in very strong, very clear, there's no doubt what this is about. But as we look at verse three, in chapter three, I just want to let you know that you are saved, that you are a child of the living God, you are washed in the blood of Jesus, and may God just strengthen you tonight, I keep repeating myself. And that is important that I just keep repeating myself because many are jumping on onto this live stream service at different times from one another. And I just feel it's very important that I just get this intro right as we just gather. So verse three, of Titus chapter three, and it says, at one time, we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived, and enslaved by all the kinds of passions and pleasures we used to live in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But from verse four onwards, as we read in Titus chapter three, and is sandwiched. Titus is put very clearly at the end of to Timothy, and you will find it at the very beginning of fire Lehman, just a short, short reading this evening, but when In the kindness of the love of God, our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of the righteous things that we have done, but because of His mercy He has saved us through the washing of the rebirth of the Renew of the Holy Spirit whom He poured out on us generously through Christ Jesus, our Savior, turn to Psalms. Let's quickly go back to Psalms, Psalms back in the Old Testament, Psalm 62. From verse one truly my soul finds rest in God, my salvation comes from Him. Truly He is my rock and my salvation, my fortress, I shall never be shaken. Verse five of Psalm 62. Yes, my soul finds rest in God, my hope comes from Him. Truly, He is my rock and my salvation, He is my fortress, I shall not be shaken my salvation, and honor depend on God, He is my mighty rock, my refuge, trust in him at all times you people pour out your heart to Him, for God is our refuge. So an Old Testament reference this evening. And also we have a New Testament reference. And also if you were to turn to the book of Acts, I'll turn to this piece of paper that I have in front of me with these tacks on it acts chapter four, verse 12, salvation is found in no one else. For there is no one or no other name under heaven given to mankind by which you must be saved. There is power in the name of Jesus, as the Bible tells us, we clearly understand that salvation is a gift. And if he was just to move on to the book of Ephesians, chapter two, verses eight through to nine, we will see very, very clearly what the scripture says it says, For it is by grace, you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast. Really, really important to understand that it is not by by works. It's not by what I can do, how I can do it, what I, who I am, what I am, or whatever. And it anything may be like that. It is purely by the grace of God by the power of the Holy Spirit that God has saved us. God has given us a hope and a future, and all things are possible to those who believe but salvation this week, as we just roll up as Holy Week is right upon us as everything is happening around us. I think that it's really important for me as a believer, to really remind myself that this week is, is about redemption, it's about salvation is about hope is about future. God is with us, God has decided to save us, God has set us free. We are children of the living God, you are blessed, you are saved, you are chosen, you are grafted into the Word of God, and God is your Redeemer. And right now as we sit here this evening, or wherever you may be, whatever your timezone is across the world, whoever you are, whatever your situation is, around you, and within you and over you, I pray right now that you will really understand, you really understand that you are saved and you are set free, God has saved you. God has given you a hope and a future, through the power off his word. And God is with you in all things of your life. You are a child of the living God. And I pray that wherever you are this evening, that the Holy Ghost will just come and refresh you and restore you because it's important for me to understand, as a believer in Christ that I am saved, I am blood watched. I'm a child of the living God. He is my rock, he is my Redeemer. He is my God and in all things, all things. One thing is really sure tonight is our so salvation is secure in him. So when we look in Psalms very clearly, very quickly in Psalms as I was in just a few moments ago, I've marked it with just a clip there. As you look in Psalm 62. It says, Truly, my soul finds rest in God my salvation comes from Him. Truly He is my rock and my salvation. He is my fortress, I shall never be shaken. Then verse five, yes, my soul finds rest in God. My hope comes from Him. Truly, He is my rock and my salvation. He is my fortress, I shall not be shaken. My salvation and honor depend on God. He is my rock, my refuge. I trusted him at all times. So it's it's clear to me as a believer that what's really, really important to me is that I understand that I am saved. It doesn't matter what is going on around the world. It doesn't matter what is happening through Holy Week through the church, through everything that's happening this week. I've got to just remind myself that I am saved and I am justifying that God has saved me God has sent His one and only Son, and this week through everything was happening from Palm Sunday, all the way through To Thursday evening and go through from Thursday evening to Friday morning, going from Friday to Saturday to Sunday, Resurrection Sunday crucifixion. On the Friday when Christ was crucified, when he was taken when he said it is finished. When you look at everything and bring absolutely everything together, I just want to encourage us tonight and let us know that we are saved, that you are a son, you are a daughter of the living God, you are blessed and highly favored God is with you. If God is for you, who can be against you, but salvation was on us, before we even came into existence. There may be a bit of repetitive speech from me tonight, over the last few days, few weeks. But this is really beating the drum of my heart tonight that that I have to remind myself I have to remind each and every one of us that we are saved, so so powerfully by grace, now if we were to look in Ephesians, look back in Ephesians chapter two verses eight through to nine, it makes a very clear reference for it is by grace you have been saved through faith this is not from yourself, this is not from any other human being this is not by work so that anyone can boast it is very, very clear. The the scriptures tonight are very basic, they are very simple. But they are fundamental teaching points for Christianity, it is not by works, so that no one can boast It is not by what I have done in the church, it is not by what I am doing. It's not by what I will do, or how I will do this or whatever may come of that. I am saved by grace. Each and every one of us is saved by grace, not by work so that someone or anyone can boast. Look at me, look what I have done. But this week's I bring bring back to what we are in this week. The church is really performing religion is really performing in this week, last week and the lead up to Palm Sunday. And everything that's going on were so interested in looking at the biblical the calendar of the sequence of events when we can look at the sequence of events and suddenly reach the crucifixion time. And look at that and actually take our eyes off of what what's really happening. Because it's about salvation. It is about redemption. It's about the sovereignty of God. It is about the mercy of God you know, but we the church, I say we the church, many are so busy away, waving palm leaves all week, waving him in Yes, this is the Savior this yes, this is the Messiah. Yes, this is the King of kings. And this is the Lord of lords. But it's so much more than action and voice. It is about the power that the Resurrection Sunday it is about our Lord, our God our Savior, He saved us He set us free. He's given us a hope and a future but there had to be the shedding of blood. So in the book of Titus, when Paul is speaking and dealing in these short texts, so the short chapters is set at once, verse three of Titus chapter three. At one time, we were foolish to disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions, and pleasures, we used to live in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior appeared, how and when did this appear? What is he referring to? What is the New Testament writer, writing about? He's writing about the appearance of the Living Word, and the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, we will find that in the Gospel of John, we will find that so clear. And let's have a little read for ourselves. Let's have a look at verse four. What does it say? In verse four? It says there, but when the kindness and the love of God our Savior appeared, how could this appear? Because the Scripture says, that God that God is it obviously God is God, God is the Godhead God is the deity, Father, Son, Holy Spirit. But we are also understand that no one has seen God, we understand that the Spirit of God and the God of Israel, let's say is invisible. So if we just use this terminology for a moment, not a good and a very clean and clear way of expressing this, but I think what we need to look at so when we look at that no one has seen God and live, so you can't. How do we box this up? It is, it is so wide. It is so vast it is it is so powerful. So when we look at the scriptures, we clearly understand that this is about God. This is about redemption. This is about Holy Week. Yes, you might bring that into it. Yes, redemption, for sure. Salvation for sure. It's not about religion, putting on a show. It's not about the spectacle that went on before in the performing arts and everything was going on. About It is about Christ. It is about the Redeemer. It is about Christ coming into Jerusalem is about Christ coming to the cross of Calvary, it is about salvation. Because that's where we sit. May God bless you, and and let your salvation be secured tonight and just hold tight to God. This is this is such a difficult press because my mind is escaping me and I'm trying to keep on what God is leading me to and, and there's so much I want to say but it's not about what I want to say. It's about what he wants to say. And you are saved. You are a child of the living God you are blessed and highly favored. You are wonderfully and fearfully made. But verse four of Titus chapter two, it says but when the kindness and the love of God, our Savior appeared, how can this appear? This appeared through Christ Jesus, our Lord, and our Savior, this appeared fruit of Messiah, this appeared for the Living Word, and the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning he was so we are speaking about Christ. Christ is the Redeemer, Christ is the one the ransom, the one sacrifice once and for all. He is our Redeemer. He is our rock, He is our God, He is our fortress, he is our Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah shalom, Jehovah Nissi, he is our peace. He is our guide, he is our Messiah, He saved me and he saved you. This morning I was ever so emotional this morning. Because my body my earth suit in a natural me suddenly realized that this eternal God decided to save me through His Son, Christ Jesus and John 316. For God so loved the world that whosoever shall believe in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. But but my belief could only be triggered, and only be accelerated or quick. And my, my belief could only come around when Christ was presented to me, because I could not present myself to him in any way, shape, or form Christ comes to us it is really, really important for me to understand that Christ comes to us first. He comes to us, he comes to set us free. He comes to give us a hope and a future, he has come that the captives would be free. First, for it says very clearly in Titus chapter free. But when the kindness and the love of God, our Savior appeared, He saved us not because of the righteous things that we have done, but because of his mercy. When you think about the mercy of God, then He goes, Paul writes on and he says, He saved us through the washing of the rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he bought out on us generously through Christ Jesus, our Savior. Now the Scripture is very clear the Scripture is is very clear, no one can be saved, except through Christ Jesus, no one can get to the Father, except through Christ Jesus, salvation can only be achieved and can only come through Christ Jesus, but we understand that there is a gift. Now if he was to look again into Friesians, chapter two, verses eight through to nine, and just see what it says, For it is by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not from yourself, it is a gift from God, not by works so that no one can boast. I can't boast about this, I can't work it through. I can't analyze it, I can't bring it on myself. Doesn't matter how hard I work. My work has no forbearance on the salvation that God has given me that is what is so important. So wherever you are, across this earth tonight, you are saved because of him, you are free because of him, you are love because of him. You are a child of the living God, you are blessed and highly favored. I find this is so important to understand and, and just to sit and to take a few moments out of the busyness of life and just to reflect and, and clearly get a clearer understanding of what the scripture is clearly saying as to saying to us tonight that that we are saved not by not by work so that no one can boast we are we are here because of the power of God. We are here. Because of the love of Christ. We are here because of destiny. We are here because of predestination. You are saved not by your own physical being you are saved not because how great you are in the flesh we are, we are here because of unconditional love. We are here because of the Messiah, we are here because of the King of glory. We are here because of him. And the Scripture makes it so clear in the book of Colossians. That Christ is the image of the invisible God Christ has come to this earth as as the eternal Savior as the King of glory. But this little booklet is just pressed away in the back end of the New Testament. It is such a glorious book the way that it presents things and and the way that it writes the writer Paul makes it very clear in verse four. But when the kindness and the love of God, our Savior appeared he saved us not because of the righteous things that we have done so it's not because of the righteous things and it's not because we are righteous, self righteous not because of the work so that we can boast not because what we have done for ourselves by ourselves not because it is us not because I am a pastor not because I'm a leader, not because of anything to do with that purely to do with the blood of Christ. So when we look at this week, when we see this week, when we understand this week, when we a value this week, when we when we try and work out what is happening through this week, what is so powerful about this week that it is about salvation, it is about redemption, it is about mercy, it is about the sovereignty of God, that God is sovereign, He is faithful to His word, He is faithful and just and he loves you and He loves me, He is faithful to the very end of this age, he will not let you slip and slide into the abyss he will not let us disappear. We are saved, once saved, always saved. There is no scripture that you can find that will clearly support the the loss of salvation. It is not by work so that no one can boast. You know, we are grafted in we have been given this gift of salvation. If anybody was looking for a fresh Word tonight. I apologize. But I don't really apologize if that makes sense. Because I am just keeping in the scripture that I believe God is leading us to tonight, that this is an encouraging scripture, that is not by the righteousness of oneself. It is not by who we know in the world of the church. It is not by by by work so that someone or anyone can boast It is by grace, you have been saved it is by mercy, it is by a power. I'm going to read this again. I'm going to keep repeating myself, I'm going to keep bringing this to the table tonight because this is where I believe God has got us sat at the table tonight literally at the table, you know, the passing over we are celebrating the pass over we are celebrating. We got to try and drop the word Easter we got to try and leave the word Easter out of the conversation and look at the passing over because this is the passing over. This is about the cross this is about Calvary. This is about salvation. As soon as we start using the word Easter as soon as we start mentioning that and we are so trapped in our vocabulary word whatever culture we're in. We are so used to saying the word Easter Easter Easter. Yes we are. But where is the biblical reference? What is the reference of Easter? We will find one slender point where it mentions that when he actually mentions it back in the old texts very very interestingly. But what we will find is the word Passover Christ speaks about the Passover. He doesn't use the word Easter. He doesn't speak Easter. He doesn't say anything about Easter. He is referring to the Passover three times in the synoptic Gospel of Matthew, He makes clear speech, he makes a clear sentence. And he speaks very loud and very clear. He says, Get ready for the Passover preparation for the pass over. We are here to celebrate the pass over it is the passing over of the angel of destruction. It is the passing over of death it is the passing over and the blood will be assigned. So it's really important for me to understand that this is about Christ. The Passover lamb Christ is the Passover lamb. As soon as I start talking about Easter, my mind or my thinking or my process in my logic can disappear into the culture that I've been brought up in into the westernized world. As soon as you start talking about Easter, you start to have a different understanding of where the Bible sits because it talks very clearly about the Passover. He is the Passover lamb it doesn't say he is the he is the Easter lamb. He doesn't say anything like that it says that he is the past Overland. Look what John says when when Christ comes to the to the river to be baptized. Here comes the Lamb of God it talks about a lamb there must be a sacrifice of a lamb. But as soon as we start talking in the language, and we start bringing the formation of words together words or power, words or life words, engages into Arias words engages into love or to warfare, or to upset words engages into so many conversations. Words are a gateway to open doors. Words are power words are our life. That's what is so important about the Word of God we may have have just had experienced trouble with the Internet. We're just trying to reload. It may have just disappeared. I just sent it in the glimmer of my eye. You may have lost The sound but we are here. Yeah, the screen is frozen. We got it. We got it. We're going back. We're going back. We're going back we're live on keep going. We're here. We've disappeared with disappeared. He is the Passover lamb. He is the King of kings.
