Reverend Ben Cooper:

Oh, good morning. Oh, we feel it today, wherever you are today across the world. Good morning. And thank you for joining us. # Christian straight talk straight out the barrel of truth and we are living in really glorious times God is with us. He says I will never leave you nor forsake you. But wherever you are, we thank you so much for sharing all these downloads across the globe. And whatever your timezone may be in the world today. Just remember, God is for you, and he's not against you, but we are living in n days, we are living in the circus. And it's not called Billy smart circus anymore. It is called the Church of the UK.

Simon Pinchbeck:

No, no, we're not going to know about the church. And we've been

Reverend Ben Cooper:

no, Surely not. We're not going to use the Bible while we watch that. Oh,

Simon Pinchbeck:

well. Yeah, that's that'd be unusual what happened there? Good morning. And welcome back to Christian#Christians straight talk. And you mentioned something there have been you mentioned a word that you'd spoke about a word of God, then you use the word and God said you never leave us or forsake us.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

No, he, the word con, the word, the word is the way forward all joking aside, you know, we have a little giggle now and then and I really believe and the Psalms a sign that God is raising up a remnant in these last days, just to purely preached the word of God without any error, but we are seeing now another denomination yesterday, just assign themselves to the ticket of same sex marriage. We've got all this stuff breaking out around us, we've got you know, you've got everything breaking out around us. There's so much the Bible, the Bible is what we need to hold on to the word of truth. So if you are a believer, if you're in a denomination that is coming against the word of God, this is really serious. The Great Apostasy, the great falling away, we are seeing the great falling away. But this is a time of really working out your salvation with fear and trembling. And Assam has got bought a great title to the table this morning. God's word is enough. And that sums it up beautiful.

Simon Pinchbeck:

If we could end it there Can we went down by by? No, but God's word isn't up. And, and you know what Ben was looking at stuff and the Bible, which is God's word, he talks about God's word, wow. 1317 times in the Bible. So he taught the Bible which is, which is the word of God talks about the Word of God all that many times and and so we got pay attention, and we got your pay attention. This is see, Ben,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

we're in serious times.

Simon Pinchbeck:

You know, you, you can't be 95% faithful to your wife, can ya.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Now you can't, it's either one or the other.

Simon Pinchbeck:

It's your either it all in 100%, or you're not at all. So you can't take a little bit his

Reverend Ben Cooper:

book and be completely

Simon Pinchbeck:

and say, well, we'll take this bit, we'll believe this, but we will lay this bit out. You can't do that. Because it's all it's all or nothing. It's all or nothing so but it's the sovereign Word of God who is not

Reverend Ben Cooper:

see there's there's a difference in there between believing it and living it. I believe it. But then my lifestyle has got a complete turnaround, doesn't it. But the Bible says we're all sinners and fallen short with glory. And it is by grace that we have been saved. So I think we're living in a church culture where we're frightened, to be honest, because of the leaders and certain people in church will, will really judge us for lifestyle choices. Every one of us makes bad lifestyle choices, even if you might be the greatest preacher and teacher. The battlefield of the mind and the flesh we are what we can't get away from all the time we are breathing is that we are human beings and human beings beings have a thread of failure and sin in the skin. Because it is corrupt. The Bible tells us that. So when we say the God's word is enough, God's word is enough. It saved us. It says free it gives a hope. Just give us a future. God's word has given us salvation. So lifestyle choices. And the Word of God is is so critical. So I've said something I've done something. I shouldn't have done it. But I've got forgiveness for it a word of God.

Simon Pinchbeck:

Totally the thing is when the Bible says that it says it when it when it talks about the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians. It talks about beef For he gets to the fruits of fruits talks about the fruits of the flesh and, and what it says those who practice those things, won't see the kingdom. So that means, but practice means you're doing it day in day out without conviction, lack conviction.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

So I might sin, because of a lifestyle choice. But I've been convicted through the power of the Holy Spirit. But God knew I was going to make that sin. But what I'm trying to get to the point of is, is no one is perfect. But the church is trying to make perfect people, when it's impossible when he rather than being honest and preach the true gospel, because the word is enough.

Simon Pinchbeck:

It totally and and we said it last week, you know, I would suggest that the majority of people who call themselves Christians are going to church or the church goers are living a lie in church. So you, you can go into church. And we said it, you know, praise the Lord bless and only favor and go out with the same rubbish you came in with.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Because I'm living a lie, because I'm frightened to tell anybody and the lie. It no one else can see the lie, but only God because His eyes are seeing everything and throwing me. So I'm not being faithful to Him.

Simon Pinchbeck:

But you know, the church won't preach that the Church wants to tell you that God sees everything you do the church, we're gonna come under that in a moment. But so you're frightened of judgment. Yeah. In front of judgmental people that all around you are frightened that you don't fit into this perfect place. But

Reverend Ben Cooper:

no family, old Labrador?

Simon Pinchbeck:

Yeah, you know, all the time when we do these things where we get fillers to open up on on for a few hours. The most things that they say is they look across and go, even if it's a leader or whatever, they go off what you add it all together. But yeah, you're just as smash as what I am and that and then that's freedom,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

because you're able to speak freely, without being judged. Yeah. And so lifestyle choices. Every one of us makes ridiculous ones. You guys on the other side of the table are probably just all good and got it together. But the more I want Jesus, the more I realized that Lord, I need you like never before.

Simon Pinchbeck:

The thing is with when you have got a thief, when you are walking with Jesus, then I was speaking to my son yesterday, and I was talking, we were talking about actions and consequences. And when you got when you're walking with the Lord, are you more inclined to think about the consequences of your actions. So he should do? Yeah, yeah, consciously. What's the consequence? And if I do that, if I follow this, this thought through, yeah, if I follow this thought through and what because

Reverend Ben Cooper:

that, that that's a good place to be because then you're coming under conviction.

Simon Pinchbeck:

And here's the thing, I have many men that come and speak to me that they can't speak to their pastor, they can't speak to their bishop, they can't speak to people in the church, but they'll come to me and and go, Man, a common theme is, you know, I've got a little girl at work who's who's taken an interest in me and he's married. He's got kids, grandkids you know, I need help. And I said, you do need out because what's the consequences of you following that route? The consequences, my friend as you you will lose everything because I know Yes, yes. You take you to the cleaners. You take your pants down, and you believe in in a caravan somewhere. Yeah. We have a bit of artificial grass, on the bike to get to

Reverend Ben Cooper:

dress up rent to be gone. Yeah, think of

Simon Pinchbeck:

the consequences.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

And that's, that's every action, isn't it? That's everything. Anger, frustration, being judgmental, being unforgiving. cause huge is huge. And it how many people are sitting in, in churches, all of us and many of us in church, remembering things of the past holding on to stuff you know, might be physically living a clean life with no little bits and pieces going on. But deep down we've got this root of anger and frustration and guilt and, and all this stuff bubbling under the skin that no one don't see, but God sees everything.

Simon Pinchbeck:

And what you said that you made. And I think you know, we bring this this is a root user wrote a lot of stuff. Yeah, definitely that needs to be sorted and we'll do it we'll go in depth on this and another podcast because it's very, very interesting and how we can bring this out. But normally what happens is the church will deal with I don't want to go off tangent here but the church will deal with the weight that comes out and

Reverend Ben Cooper:

what we can see

Simon Pinchbeck:

what Yeah, so someone will go yeah, I'll just want to confess to my own group that I've been looking at pornography. Alright,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

and they all went, thank god what site you look at

Simon Pinchbeck:

probably probably, you know, or I'm just a click away brother, you know, praise the Lord, he's, you know, but unless you get there's a route to that further route, you'll be back to it in a couple of weeks. And

Reverend Ben Cooper:

the thing is though Simon in it, the more we talk about everything, the more we get free, oh, bring out it's a great, amazing speech freedom, isn't it?

Simon Pinchbeck:

Because the enemy wants to want to think you're the only one and yeah, and you're in a dark place. And yeah, oh, don't you know,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

the church or the church or reject me? Because it's not so much that we worry about what the world will say is it? It's about the holy huddle, or if they only know if they really know, the world, we don't even think about the world doing.

Simon Pinchbeck:

Let me tell you to two examples here. You know, I've done lots of men's meetings, men's stuff. Yeah. We was always doing a Men's Morning somewhere. And and the guy who was on the ministry team, the prayer ministry team, you know, he had one of them white text, and identified him as a prayer warrior. Sandals, he came up to me very brave, and he's happened in my uses. Can you pray for me? So I'm doing and watching pornography two or three times every couple of weeks, which probably means he's doing it every day. But it was brave. You need but he was on the prayer ministry team.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

All joking aside, yeah. When you start to speak, the route starts to get the acts of the word swung. Yeah, when you don't speak about it, even if you speak it in a in a light way, if the only way that you can speak about anything, is by making a bit of a light hearted joke, is that's the way that you're dealing with it. But but as you start to speak about any subject that you're just entrenched in the Word of God, the sword starts to cut through, it starts to cut through, keep talking about it, don't be ashamed of it. That'd be a shame Be bold.

Simon Pinchbeck:

Another time when I was doing this talk in this big men's conference up in the Midlands, and you know, we're challenging fellas and after time just before you go get a bit. Yeah, I don't know what they grab, you know? Whatever. Yeah. Large cigar Oh, and fellow was on during the, during the soundcheck Yeah. came up to me and the guy who were there, he went to bed, as you said, and it was very brave. And he said, fellas, I'm the to admit to you that I was watching pornography last night. And he knew that he was coming in the shadows, Christian conference. So that's very brave in it. Yeah. And

Reverend Ben Cooper:

the more you talk about it, whatever it is, unforgiveness, addiction to gambling addiction to shopping, even people don't realize how bad that is addicting, addictive things it can be any app can be absolutely anything, you know, control or you might be a control freak. You might be trying to control it. You when you start to talk about all this stuff. No. Controlling when you start to talk about the word God, and you start to push the word over. It is done. It's a word is

Simon Pinchbeck:

done. And look, I listened to a bit of a guy called Jordan Peterson he skis. Yeah, many people who is someone who says he's pretty good. It's very insular. And it's all about you. But one of the things that that I caught that I thought was pretty good. Was Was that whatever you do, you know, get away of it. Right? Whatever you do, you die. And he mentioned lying. And so he said, You'll never get away with a lie. You may think you have. But you might,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

you might because you're sewing and you think you do your sewing.

Simon Pinchbeck:

And we're going to talk about that in a minute. Because words are like seeds soon. So yeah, so you are sowing salad. And that lie. Somewhere down the line is getting watered. If you're getting bigger, it's going to come back. Backside will come.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

What we can't get away from it is when we talk word word is power. The Book of James says the smallest muscle in the body but that does the most damaging or the most uplifting. You know I've experienced that this week on the end of the religious tongue of a few people. And it is damaging this the church coming at ya religion coming at ya, that the words are Arrow's

Simon Pinchbeck:

words are huge, and we're getting some great material for our podcast because here's the deal, right? Words are like seeds and what is the seed do? It replicates its own data. So if you're if you're sewing lies, yeah, it's just gonna replicate your line and you're

Reverend Ben Cooper:

big and it's anything isn't it? Wherever you speak, you actually become

Simon Pinchbeck:

you speak you become whatever you say you become you are

Reverend Ben Cooper:

because it's inside out of your belly and motivational speaking. This pipe ourselves up

Simon Pinchbeck:

to say 500 pound an hour for

Reverend Ben Cooper:

a trooper Grover, you say you're there in a poem need to be? Well,

Simon Pinchbeck:

whatever comes before the Yeah, yeah, whoever comes after the I Am is what you become. So be very careful what we speak and the words we speak to each other, especially the words you speak to your children, very careful because their seats, yeah, and just say and that seed when you tell your child will do no good or land will land, and it will get watered by every other negative thing that said to that child during its life. And so we end up Yeah, I see the end product when we give men in their 40s and 50s living lives of little boys and men's bodies, because they have never been able to get rid of a rope, a root of words that have negative will

Reverend Ben Cooper:

grow, it starts with a tiny sea starts as a tiny seed, and then go deep and deep and deep. It's like a vein isn't it? When you look at a root when you dissect a root, and you look and you're all these tiny threads come off it, to pull a root out of the ground takes some serious, serious effort, and seeds. You know, we speak words over one other and Simon has brought this you know, God's word is enough, the word is enough. And it is really critical that we keep in the Word of God. Now in the Gospel of John, chapter one, verse one, it says In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God. And the Word was God.

Simon Pinchbeck:

The Word was made flesh when it when the word was Jesus, the Word

Reverend Ben Cooper:

is Jesus. First to have John chapter one. He was with God in the beginning, in the beginning was the Word. The Word is everything, the word is everything, and the word is enough. So Word of God.

Simon Pinchbeck:

When when I, when I say that people, when they ask me advice, will mighta give up ice, but what I say to people, you know, start the day by saying some scriptures, just a magic formula or anything, but you're getting a word of God in to you. Get some scriptures, you know that you remember that? You know, because any better speaking the Word of God than speaking gossip and nonsense, you know, because believe me, you know, the enemy or mica, make a goal for your mind. As soon as you get out of bed or before we go,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

definitely. This is why we're in trouble in the West, spiritually, because we're not in the spiritual book, women, we take bits out and we do what we want. And we make up our own churches. And we make our own understanding of it when there's coming back to what we've always what we say, and you can't get away from this, that it's about doctrine. It's about clear doctrine, the doctrines of grace doctrine, there's the fundamental points of Christianity, the birth, the death, the resurrection, and everything that goes along with the Word of God, creation, how many ministers are out there that don't even believe in the creation, Genesis, if I don't believe in creation, it rocks everything else, because Genesis is the foundation of my belief, God said. So we come back to that that word again. Word, Word, Word. God said what? For you to say something, you have to speak a word. And God said, Let there be light. And there was there is power in speech. So he spoke it, and it happened. So if you speak to me, your words affect me my words affect you. So if someone's coming against me, then words are going to penetrate me. And they're going to affect me. And they like what we're saying. Yeah, they're gonna affect you. So they're darts their arrows.

Simon Pinchbeck:

And this is a key in our spiritual wall. Because if someone's speaking out bad against you, yeah. Whether or not they're in your presence or not, yeah, we have to we have to combat that with a word of God. Yeah, totally. And and don't you mentioned to someone earlier, Ben, you know, don't think you can get away with stuff. Don't think that no one sees anything because let's look at what Evers for me 11 to 13 says Benny says, the word listen to this the title. This is in the New King James. It says the title of this little passage is the word discovers our condition. Oh,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

I'm gone. You're on your own.

Simon Pinchbeck:

Hebrews 411 It starts it says Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. And then it goes on 12 It says, put a word of God is living. It's powerful, and it's sharper than any two edged sword. This is the Word of God, piercing even the division of soul and spirit. So whatever whatever you're feeding your soul, it's it's coming for it. Right? And of joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts intents of the heart, so the Word of God, so, and there is no creature hidden from His sight, not one. But all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom you must give account. So don't think, in the quietness of your own home behind whatever you're doing behind the screen or whatever you wherever you are, you're safe, because it says, Hey, you mind,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

it's not only Boris that's watching. It's not only the powers, you

Simon Pinchbeck:

won't get away with it,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

you won't get away, get away,

Simon Pinchbeck:

get away, you

Reverend Ben Cooper:

ain't getting away of it. And what I love Simon, it's before I've acted in a sinful thing. It was already now to the cross, a Calvary, you've already gone is already gone. So there is nothing new under the sun. God has seen everything. God knows everything. But the church tries to make you feel dirty and gritty and murky for certain lifestyle choices that people choose. So we have this this holy huddle that is very insular and very occultic. But God's word is liberating. God's word is free it isn't

Simon Pinchbeck:

it God's most liberating and freeing. And here's the deal. This is a magazine. So if we read the Bible, Ben with the Holy Spirit, is revelation. Dynamite is revelation. Without it, it's just information. So if we read it, and we'll come on to it a little bit with an open heart, and but you know what the Bible does? As it says, Here, the Bible reads us. Exactly. God's word reads us. So we're reading the Bible, and it's been revealed to us. But as we're reading it, the word discovers our condition, the word reads as Stan it,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

it does. So the word knows us, the word reads us, the word went to the cross for us. The word saved us the word is our salvation. So when I put all this together, I have actually nothing to worry about. Because before I act, it was now before I think it was now even though that there may be an act that actually progresses into a physical or verbal failure. God loves us. And He saved us and set us free. And the Word of God with the power OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, cuts through and deals with the same on a daily base on a moment and God, God will break and God is moving through the entrenchment and the concrete boats that many of us have got.

Simon Pinchbeck:

And don't forget, will reiterate again, the word is Jesus. Jesus, you know, don't when you're raising this stuff, every page in the Bible has got Jesus in it.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Every page, I am the living word. I am the light of the world. I am the good shepherd the seven items.

Simon Pinchbeck:

So is the deal, right? Ben? Why aren't churches preaching the Word?

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Money? We will lose

Simon Pinchbeck:

money by preaching the word of God. Because frightful a lot of us in the Western world. Yeah. So your Word of God is not enough. Now, we want more we want to be entertained when we go to church, don't we?

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Because Because Because entertainment makes money. Money makes music music makes revenue.

Simon Pinchbeck:

You know, years ago used to sit on a wooden, a wooden pier, we're now hating we're now eating and the word of beasts and you'd be uncomfortable and that wouldn't now you've got cinemas seats, anyway. Lean back back. Yeah. And you're nice and

Reverend Ben Cooper:

comfy. Got a waitress coming around giving you pop calm and you want your nice ice cream with that, sir.

Simon Pinchbeck:

Nice pastries. Nice coffee. Nice, lovely. No, don't challenge me a day.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

I just want to I want to feel good. Your own electric chair and I

Simon Pinchbeck:

want to be entertained. I want to be go to the third slot. Go to the theater. You know, we're putting a little act put on little skit. Yeah, we'll go we'll give you that kind of guy. Good. Where's the word?

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Where's what? What word when we add the word.

Simon Pinchbeck:

So wisdom of pastor today, brother. We'll just put the Bible to one side. And I'll give

Reverend Ben Cooper:

you a TED talk.

Simon Pinchbeck:

And we're talking about you.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

I know. I love it. When you pick me up. Please pick me up. Make me a God and what it

Simon Pinchbeck:

may have been this week and you will back this up is that? You know, all of a sudden, I'm speaking to people from Pakistan and India, over there. Lovely, lovely people. But what I want to use the word of God,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

all they want is the Bible. They want the word Bible. So again, let's remind ourself the Bible is Jesus. Yeah, Jesus is salvation. He is the rock he is Jehovah God Jehovah Nissi, Jehovah shalom, he is everything. When I get the Bible, I have everything. That's

Simon Pinchbeck:

what I want is a Bible. So they don't want you to put on a little play. No, they don't want to see a little show. They want the Word of God. They want the word, they want Bibles, that's what they want. And in the West, we've lost that because the word of God ain't enough now for us, and, you know,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

because we're lost. It's the church is lost people will be absolutely, because the church in the drum is embraced paganism, society and humanism. It's not

Simon Pinchbeck:

standard set up and gone. That's wrong. That's wrong. That's actually embraced everything.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

As soon as we start lifting up a person, we start to become an occult. When we lift up a person, when we lift up a finger, when we lift up symbolism, when we when we start putting things in stained glass windows, and we start worshipping buildings, we become just like the Israelites worshipping

Simon Pinchbeck:

idols. The problem, the big problem, Ben, I think, golden Cavs just you know, and so you think about Lisbon, because I think we've got too fat in the West, we've been sitting and being spoon fed stuff. And we haven't been encouraged to go out and actually lead an exciting Christian life. So we get to the stage and I was talking to a pastor this week, who said, who said about the other person whose congregation who had been in church for many years who said to him, I don't get emotional anymore about a crucifixion because that's been there seen it done it so many times? Oh, well, I would say he's not unusual. I'd say a lot of

Reverend Ben Cooper:

people like that. Because it's been watered down.

Simon Pinchbeck:

And because it hasn't been preached every day reason you need to know that what Jesus done for you every single day, you need to know what a father done for you every single day. That's what brings us back to our own personal garden Dan it but that's what brings us back to a place where we go on I'm not worthy. I'm nothing lord, what you'll be because what you've done for me your everything. Oh, you everything I know, you don't just think about it once a year now on Good Friday, and this fellas just gone. And I get emotional anymore. And that that epitomizes what the West is like, you know, in a lot of places. Obviously we're generalizing. And that's for sure. But but a lot of churches you walk in, and

Reverend Ben Cooper:

okay, let's analyze this a minute. If I don't get emotional, about the blood of Jesus, I don't even know if I'd be saved.

Simon Pinchbeck:

And that's the other question. Where is your salvation? Where

Reverend Ben Cooper:

do I sit? If I look at that cross, and don't really get drawn into what when I clearly I it makes me absolutely want to crawl under the carpet to think that Christ gave His life for a sinner like me to give me a hope and a future to have bloodshed to be whipped and to be beaten. It actually makes me want to run that it's more than a motion. But it's

Simon Pinchbeck:

it makes me want to grab this fellow and shake him and beat him to the core. And it makes me so angry. Because this is this is our Savior to what he's done for us. And this is our father what he's done for us.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

And that's why we're in a mess. Because the church doesn't recognize the cross. And it is I think,

Simon Pinchbeck:

I think you said something there been something there. That's right field. Why God word isn't enough for a lot of places because it doesn't recognize across the cross has been taken out of many churches and I

Reverend Ben Cooper:

know a church, as I've told you, not very far from here, that has taken the cross down and put the telly in the place. That you are because because we want to sing happy, Christian, worldly, paganistic trance in songs and lacrosse offense. And the cross makes me think of Jesus when I want to get into Kundalini spirit and everything is love and happiness.

Simon Pinchbeck:

It it brings about certain words of Spurgeon, you know, when he said, you know, he said is that the time will come and he was talking these days, you know, when the church won't be sheep led by shepherds, it'll be goats led by clowns, and this is where we're at in the West, you know, so the

Reverend Ben Cooper:

church. So the responsibility of where we sit spiritually isn't the world. Obviously, it's the church. And the reason that we are so thin, thin in the church spiritually is because the church hasn't preached across. Sorry, it doesn't know the cross. It doesn't Understand the cross.

Simon Pinchbeck:

So we didn't understand the Crosman it doesn't understand the word of God. You just it's the cherry pick bits out of it done yeah,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

it's the same as replacement theology doesn't it when you look at that I'll rubbish that's come out and all that and hyper grace and all that. When you take the cross out, you don't have Jesus. Not so when you take the cross out of church, when you take the cross out of of your life, when you take the cross out of the teachings and the preachings, you don't have Jesus, because Jesus is the center. The cross, what is what actually is the cross, the cross is the fulfillment of Christ come into this earth, breaking and fulfilling in one fulfilling the old covenant and bring in the new covenant. So the cross is the center. It's a must now because without the cross,

Simon Pinchbeck:

yeah, you're absolutely spot on. It is the fulfillment Nabis distantly. That's why That's why our father gave us Jesus Yeah, to go to the cross, die on the cross for us and, and rise again to defeat it. And as you said, all our sin is then nailed to the cross. So if you're not preaching the cross, you ain't preaching. You're preaching different Jesus, you're preaching the Jesus, which you're going to tell everyone is full of love and everything, which is fine, but you're not preaching sin. You're not preaching repentance, and you're not preaching acceptance of the cross, where you're not preaching the gospel,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

redemption.

Simon Pinchbeck:

Redemption now the cross

Reverend Ben Cooper:

is is is the visual, the visual, the physical. It's not the power of the tree. This absolutely fascinates me. When I look at that cross on the wall at this moment in this studio, when I think of the cross a Calvary, how did that tree get there? God planted that seed God knew that seed would one day be the cross that would grow into the tree that his son would go no, no. It's it's so God's seeds there. I think God, God knows everything. So even the cross of Calvary, the timber, the carpenter, the person that made it, everything about that cross God for new and God created that cross, because that cross was timber. He created the earth he caught He created all the living beings He spoke the world into being. So when we talk about the church, not looking at the cross, you're not only are we talking about salvation, but we're also looking at creation, is everything at the Cross creation is at the cross. Totally. So if I take the cross out of the teachings, I take out everything, the birth, the death, the resurrection, and creation.

Simon Pinchbeck:

And you know what you're putting in its place, man, me mean, managed by, listen to the spin. This is the go to Romans 1016 14 through to 16 says, How then shall we call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe him? Of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent as it is written? How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of these who bring glad tidings of good things? And he goes on to say, Paul goes on to say, in 16, listeners, he says, but they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah said, Lord, who has believed our report, So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, wow. So faith comes by hearing. And hearing is through the word of God. So we call it Where is your faith? If you're not reading the Bible, where's your faith? What's your faith grounded on? Where is it coming from? If your lotion read the Word of God, you're putting your faith in the man in the front?

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Yeah, humanism. The chairman is the church is full of humanism, and he's embraced it. It's not new word, this word humanism. He hasn't come around by that funny little bloke that heads it all up. It's got humanism has been around because it's idolatry. Worship is worshipping a foreign god is worshiping a human. It is washing a statue it is worship, worship Him, humanity, humanity over God. So it's been around in the Old Testament, humanism. Humanism isn't a new thing. It has been around. It is just what we have and what we've seen in the Bible. So the word of God so if the Church takes the cross out, it takes everything out. It takes creation, the birth, the death, the resurrection. It takes n times out because the cross it is the visual symbol to for us to remember that everything is at the cross,

Simon Pinchbeck:

everything's at the crowd. Can we then look and say, he's got no meaning? How can we say that? Because I had to resign to someone, if you're feeling that no one loves you, if you're feeling you're down, you're feeling not accepted and looked across, because that's what he's done for. Yeah. Can we say that if we've taken it out of the equation? Because, yeah, friends

Reverend Ben Cooper:

and wires across got to be empty when I look at it, because he's not on it

Simon Pinchbeck:

is not on it. No. And that's, you know, in certain religious, religious circles. He's on it all the time. And he

Reverend Ben Cooper:

because man wants him on it.

Simon Pinchbeck:

And a whole lot of people were in a crucifix with Jesus on still, but he's not on Macross Aziz, whether the

Reverend Ben Cooper:

angel say, Why are you looking for the living among the dead, he's not here He is risen. Jesus said, I am the Way the Truth and the Life No one comes to the Father except through me. Colossians says, Jesus is the image of the invisible God.

Simon Pinchbeck:

So you see, this is interesting, because I've been saying to a few church leaders, recently, I've been saying, well, whatever you goes on your church has to be reflected. Because if someone decides, you know, some of our mates decide that they you know, they're searching, and I stepped foot in a church, would they think it was weird? And a lot of times been? They would, because how would you step into church and see someone waving a flag doing cartwheels laughing? uncontrollably, or whatever was going on? Here? Yeah. Then you're gonna go, oh, this is weird. So arms, and they're saying to me, yeah, but you know, these are Christian people. And after we, I've just thought to myself, well, you hit me on the way down here. And then the Lord, kind of just quick for me to say, just just preach the word, just given my word. So if you're just preaching the Word, and someone comes in, for the first time, and Jesus said, in the back, you know, God, Cena goes direct, some Gods put it on. Just come sit at the back and listen to the word, listen to the word.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

And they're not talking about Jesus, within one minute of the building, you exit the building, because he's not in the build, because he's not in the building.

Simon Pinchbeck:

It's like Elvis has left a long time.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

He's gone. He's gone. He's gone. Oh, man, I

Simon Pinchbeck:

remember. Remember, shouting out someone shouting out, praise the Lord and someone going up to him and gone. We don't do that in this sort of I found Jesus. He said, Well, you didn't find him in here.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

It's down where we're supposed to wear the last dark.

Simon Pinchbeck:

But but that's the deal. And we, we should be, we said it in previous podcasts. And we have to reiterate again, that everything comes back to the cross, you said it, you said it, you went through it, categorically. And it is the truth. The cold gospel is, is the Crossroads through the whole gospel,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

all the way through redemption. What is at the cross, I honestly believe I really believe this with all my heart, that if the church would just preach the cross with without, without trying to jazz it up, because you can't. This is such a deep thing. Without putting all the bells and the whistles like it tries to do everything and trying to make it softer. You know what I'm saying? If if the if the cross and salvation is just preached as the, as the Gospels tell us, and as as we are taught to preach the fire and the power of the cross of Calvary, that's what the world wants and needs. A sort of world he doesn't want a nice 75 inch screen with Bethel music coming over it

Simon Pinchbeck:

certainly 50 Okay, that's passes. But you're absolutely right, because it's not our responsibility. Now that words accepted as it is our responsibility to deliver deliver the word. So it's a postman, wherever, just a messenger delivery messenger, but a very serious message and it's up to the Holy Spirit, then, you know, that the Holy Spirit The Lord says to God, in that book, we just really you know, it was split soul and spirit site, right bang, and, and suddenly you'd be Yeah, yeah, I am living wrong. I am a sinner, and I do

Reverend Ben Cooper:

and your local round across and everyone will be smiling because every Adi is the same, All have sinned and fallen short of His glory, there is only one righteous one but true. And his name is Jesus. So everybody, whatever label and title we have been given in the world of what we call a church, it is meaningless. It has no eternal value. Because it's about the blood. So as the salvation and redemption is the leveler to everybody in the church and the world, we are all looked at the same by God, we have all been saved the same by God through the blood of Christ. It is the same process but the church wants to put you know, do a Christmas tree on it, it wants to do all manner of things do it light it all up, but actually miss missed it. It's Miss

Simon Pinchbeck:

missed it. So they want to do everything. To entertain, they want to everything's got to be done to entertain even the worship. We can't

Reverend Ben Cooper:

talk about blood of Jesus, there's children in a building. We can't talk about the blood. It's, it's a bit too brutal. We can't talk about creation because we got that person over there as a scientist, and they believe in evolution and call it an archetype. Well, cool. Eight and a half live in a nice postcode.

Simon Pinchbeck:

Do you know what it was interesting? I was doing a talk few years ago. And I was out out in Norfolk somewhere and I was talking about creation. Yeah. And vicar, who was in got up and walked out.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Yeah, I couldn't. I couldn't believe that. Yeah, yeah, I'll get over that. Yeah, even that vicar that come up to me in the middle of this church. And when I don't quite believe in the birth of Jesus Christ. No Fault. No, Lord, a Rahman some substances here or this is just not real. I can't believe the church is signed to me in the caller. The clergy is saying, don't really believe I've struggled to believe or don't quite believe that happen. That Immaculate Conception, and you're thinking, what actually hope have I got?

Simon Pinchbeck:

And what opens this congregation guy if he's just if that's the sort of nonsense, he's going to preach in it? So we said, so you've got the Bible. Yeah.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

But But in that,

Simon Pinchbeck:

unless every word is true, then it's not it's not God's word. Is it? Just, it's not? If we're gonna, we're gonna put man's interpretation on it. Yeah. Then we're in trouble.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Do you know why I believe as we finished it, while I really believe the church won't teach the preached across the Calvary, because as soon as the preacher and the teacher starts talking about the cross, a Calvary, what does it actually do? It knows them to the cross. Yeah, that's, that's one of the issues as well. Because suddenly, it breaks the preacher down really? Yeah, it breaks the teacher down, it speaks first to the voice piece that is delivering it. So when you deliver the real cross of Calvary, it makes you look at what you as a rich, and the sinner side by

Simon Pinchbeck:

side takes the focus off of you than it does because it's all about cross.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

And what does God say? I will not share my glory with no. The cross is either the cross or nothing. So the church in the UK is in a very, very thin place, isn't it? If it doesn't preach across the cross the cross Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, the Word the blood, redemption, salvation, Grace, mercy, the coming of Christ the the end days, the creation if we don't have all these fundamental word and sermons, it's not about Jesus.

Simon Pinchbeck:

It's about a different Jesus. And we're gonna, I'm gonna tell you about a different Jesus and Jesus that will, you know, what? changes make a mold, pretty much and we know that that's not the man who went to the cross spin and and will also watch gets gets preached his is, oh, I can't believe a loving father would send his son to the cross. Back

Reverend Ben Cooper:

on the button. Yeah. I can't believe you do that.

Simon Pinchbeck:

Well, you can't believe in your little human brain. P shaped brain you can't believe. But twist it round and think it's the ultimate sacrifice, the ultimate sacrifice of a father giving his son so that a world will

Reverend Ben Cooper:

be John 316. The word is enough.

Simon Pinchbeck:

That word is enough, God's word is enough

Reverend Ben Cooper:

what a great title Simon has brought. And I will change my word and what a great title God has put on Simon's heart to bring to each and every one of us today. It has to be the cross. Because at the cross is everything creation, redemption, salvation, justify everything is at the cross, freedom as across. God bless, have a great day, you can find us on many social platforms, please have a read of the book, no one coming out very, very soon, and you are saved. But honestly and really, respectfully. From the very bottom of our heart, we ask, if you are a church leader or a preacher or a teacher. We would just like to say this, please join with us and preach the cross of Calvary. Because that's where it is. God bless you we respect and we understand what's going on within the UK we we are not saying that we are above everything and all that. I've realized in for these last days that I am the least of the least of the least, but because of the cross. I'm on my way to glory in God

Simon Pinchbeck:

bless the Lord. Amen. Hallelujah. Break out the ammunition.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Come on. Let's go. Let's put the tele on

Simon Pinchbeck:

It's powerful. It's powerful. It's been powerful a day and the word of God is enough. Get the word of God inside. Amen.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Amen. God bless. Thank you Simon.
