Thank you to everybody on Spotify and Buzzsprout or many other platforms that we are using to push the Word of God out and today we are in the persecuted church and also Amazon music and Alexa and so many other great technic technology, technology areas that we're using. Excuse me, I'm getting tongue tied you can guess that this is not edited that is not scripted. It is straight out of our hearts. So you will get the bells and the whistles you will get the slabs of tea you will get the cups hitting the desk you will get all the noises from an ordinary recording without any editing. You're here Yes, alive and well. And we are straight into the persecuted church. And we just pray Sandra that God will carry you as you do the studies and the research because there can be some heavy things that can be heavy. situations that we read isn't heavy literature, sometimes it can weigh down way down on the heart, it can be quite heavy. But good morning to everybody across the world wherever your timezone is wherever you are, Sondra, let's go we've got a bit of a recap. Okay, and we're in

Yes, so. So yes, there are some hard things happening. But um, as ever, there is a balance. And you know, we know that many things are going on behind the scenes. You know, God is at work. And there is a there is good news. And I want to bring you that because I've been asking that we pray about particular things. And now I have some updates about that, and, and some breaking stories as well. So we'll recap on Syria first. So the last time I was doing this, I talked about Syria and Iraq, and about hope for the Middle East. And we looked at the centers of hope. And Pastor Edwards weren't particularly there and his interview. And that was very encouraging, although there's great difficulties. And we found out what was happening with Noah, who was a boy at the time of the troubles and is now a teenager and is a shepherd. And so we looked at all those things. But one thing we particularly looked at was the prayer map on the mobile. And I said that there was going to be a standing strong conference in Nottingham, which I couldn't get to. But I did join in online, and it was very good. And they particularly focused on this prayer mobile app and showed everybody how to do it. And you can see all the lights lighting up. But one of the main highlights that well, in fact, there were two really, but some that really just you know, the reality just hits me was that there was somebody to do with Afghanistan. And it was so dangerous, that they had to have an actress. They didn't have her voice. They couldn't show her. But she was actually at the conference, this lady and they were praying for her. She was at the conference in the background. Those people in Nottingham actually had, you know, contact with this lady and were able to pray for her. But they showed us a video and they asked her questions and she just said how it is and it is it is very, very bad in Afghanistan. It's it is just well you know, beyond words, you think about North Korea. Well, that's basically if they think you're a Christian, they'll shoot you know. It's yeah. Our brothers and sisters are in dire need. There's very little food. And the situation is you know, very volatile. Yeah, yeah. Um, but, but they are still there. And God is looking after them. And as often, brother Andrew prayed that those things that need to be hidden would be hidden. So when the authorities come, and they don't see things. And so like the blind eyes, as you said, the Gospel may be blind to, you know, believers. And they still, you know, their desire, this lady was saying is that, you know, they would be able to share the gospel with people in the villages and where they are. And she also talked about those who've had to leave, and the difficulties there, and she was talking about somebody who, you know, some operation and they weren't well, and they tax and leave, and just the trauma of that, and just the missed treatments of people who've left, that they're still not safe. And some families have lost loved ones, they don't know where they are, they don't know whether they're alive or dead. But they're holding on they're holding on. And so it was very raw, it was a very good interview, I mean, you know, is online, the whole of standing strong, if you want to have a look at it, and find out, you know, but this lady wasn't downhearted. She was quite upbeat, she said, you know, we know the cost, but it is still, you know, Jesus is our shepherd, and we will follow him. And, you know, so, so that was very powerful. And then Bishop, the bishop from a rack, who we knew as, just as a young, fresh a pastor, and, you know, he was the one who was ending up looking after all the children. And his so he was just flung into this ministry. You know, a quite a young Well, yeah, I mean, I suppose I think he must have been in his 20s. At the time, I'm just looking to see if I can find the bit in here. About him. His name was a picture of him. See? So Father, Daniel, yeah. So Father, Daniel, a church leader in Iraq, and is now Bishop. And he's, you know, so he's the leader of a whole lot of churches in Iraq, a lot of responsibility, a lot of responsibility. And part of that has happened, because the many leaders have, have had to flee. And but he stayed. And so, but he was just saying about, you know, things that we do do have an effect on them. And he was saying that, you know, that they may be able to forget about what ISIS did. But they won't forget those who stood by them in those days, and those who prayed. But he also said how Miss guided words in the West, regarding the country, the leadership, and Islam itself, has a has a really big effect on them. And he was saying to be careful how we say things and to be wise about how we say things because he was saying that when certain things happened over here that comments were made about Muhammad. They they burnt down churches over there, and they particularly persecuted the Christians. So he said, you know, just to be aware of how, you know anything done here, if they are seen as being an instrument of the West, and they will be persecuted because of anything said. Yeah, yeah. So Abbas hit a you know, still saying, you know, they're standing strong. And he said, you know, the church is growing it's very small. But he said that perhaps small isn't that

important there, Sondra the smallness is growing. And even when you look in the book of Acts, isn't it? The Church, the biblical church was small, it was powerful, it was growing under persecution

as powerful. And as you said, there's quality. That's correct. So these people have been through so much. And they know what what faith is. And they know, you know, how they've had to rely on God for everything. And so said, you know, they continue, you know, that open doors, they're grateful for what open doors are doing, again, with the Center for hope, and trauma, healing projects, and leadership training, which is very much needed, as he said that, you know, so many leaders have gone disappeared. And so they're wanting to train up young leaders. And, you know, they really need really that help. So they were very powerful, you know, messages from these people. And it's always when you actually see the person, you know, even though I couldn't actually be there, but they're talking to on the screen, and they have first hand knowledge of what's going on. So that was a very powerful thing. So I recommend that if you have opportunity, you go and have a look at it. And there was some very good prayers. We prayed, you know, for them. So that was the first thing. So we had they had open doors had their conference standing strong. And soon after that, there was announcement that brother Andrew had gone to be with the Lord. Now, brother, Andrew was the founder of open doors, and he was called the Bible smuggler. And so he's died at old age at the age of 94. And gone to be with the Lord. Wow. And there is a lovely piece on here. About him. Yeah. And, you know, he, they asked him about what would you want on his gravestone? And he just says, the best thing that you can talks about different things, but he says, to be called a disciple of Jesus Christ. Wow, is the thing that I want to be remembered for. How powerful so yeah, so he died, surrounded by his family, and mazing amazing, amazing mercy. But God did as he said, he was just there. He did what he could, he said, and he was 65 years, 65 years. So nobody imagined that within 60 years, it would embrace millions of crushed Christians across the world, and so many Bibles that he smuggled. So maybe another time I look at that a bit more his Yeah, and I'm going to be getting involved with another online event, which is a Thanksgiving a memorial for brother Andrew on the 20th of October. So if you put that that's it next week, the week after, isn't it? It is yeah, um, yeah. So that was another big thing that happened. And then

But obviously son will do a lot more on this as time goes by. Because what what a what a servant, a true servant you can follow his life through. There's a lot of stuff on open doors, about brother Andrew. Yeah, no, I mean, I've read, you know, the Bible smuggler and that's a book that's available and they are giving that away. You can, you know, ask ask for for a copy of that book. I think I'm not sure whether they're asking people to give a donation or something. I'm not sure, but it might anyway, you might need to pay for it. Yeah. And but I think they were trying to ask people to buy something, give them away. And so yes, so that's something Think. And then another story that broke was in Iran. And this got on the news. You might remember about a young lady who died in custody because she hadn't worn headcovering we directly. And so open doors have a thing on how that's affected Christians and how they're responding. And so they say Massa was detained by the country's morality police for wearing improper hijab and fell into a coma on the 13th of September, while in police custody, she died in hospital three days later. Article 18, a charity dedicated to the protection and promotion of religious freedom in Iran says it stands in solidarity with the bereaved family, in a statement issued alongside the Council of United Iranian churches. And the past theological Center article 18 said, We, like many of the people in Iran have protested in the city streets with unparalleled courage following her death, consider the imposition of the mandatary hijab on the people of Iran, representing a range of religious ethnic and cultural identities, an obvious violation of human rights and demand an end to this and other discriminatory laws. We and then they were saying we are all masses, the women, life freedom are among the slogans, brave women and men of Iran are holding up, saying, you know, it's highlighting the oppression of women and the injustice. And as we know, we've talked about this and how there was a declaration made. So we don't know what this lady believed. They don't say that. But they just say that Christians are, you know, supporting, and, and, yeah, the case unveils a broader issue of Iran's gross violations of international norms of freedom of expression, women's rights, and freedom of religion or belief, which affect many religious groups in Iran, including Christians. And that was another thing that I noted on the broadcast and made me think about what the Bishop of Iraq had said. And that was because they were talking about Farsi speakers. And they were blaming Christian groups for this trouble. So whether she was a farsi speaker, it's just something I picked up on one of the news channels, and I thought, oh, here we go. So as you see, it, maybe had nothing to do with with the church. But they blame any anything that is seen to be rebellion. Anything that is seen to be trying to be Western is blamed on the church definitely blamed on the Farsi speakers. Because the thing is, they don't want people speak Farsi. So that's seen as a rebellious Wow. Yeah. So it just made me think about what the bishop said and how he said, you know, things can be really can be related, and then how persecution can occur because of an unrelated incident. So, so yeah, it's

interesting what's going on, isn't it? Yeah, he's talking about leaders earlier, wasn't me. And how we're seeing across the world that very quickly, there are a few godly leaders that have been almost extracted from the earth. And there seems to be something very different happening, doesn't there. So now is a time to pray because persecution is heightening. Persecution is getting stronger and it's not it's not a woe is us. But this is this is a biblical fact. In the end times what to expect so we should be joyous, enduring, finished the prize finished the race, you know, so we are living in very power. We are really privileged people to see what we are seeing and to see godly men and women, their lives taken into glory and what God has next. Even within the UK, there are enormous things happening in structure and there's a shake across this nation. There is a persecution and there always has been but now it's getting stronger. So brothers and sisters for when you look at Brother Andrew, I've got this on the screen at the moment, a Bible smuggle and let's get Bibles in. Let's get Bibles back. When you look at when you look at Gideons, which is formally what's formerly known as Giddins Neris. Good news for everybody. The struggles that they have getting Bibles in, Come on church, let's get a Bible Well, let's let's make it our, our vision and our prayer that we get Bibles back into the UK, especially the UK. You know, we're talking abroad, we're looking Sandra looks across the shores all the time, which is right and true. But I also do believe that for any believers that are in the UK, we've got to get Bibles back in the schools, back in the universities, we got to get Bibles on the desk of your workplace. Even when we look at the coin, and I'm diverting a little bit, but because we're looking at I'm looking at Brother Andrew, when we looked at our coin, beautiful servant of God, whatever way you look at that, she was a believer, yes. And when we look at her funeral, it was Bible Bible, Bible, Bible, Bible Bible, verse after verse after him, song, everything, there was no other interaction of any other faith, it was Christianity, straight down, straight down a spine. And I believe God has given this nation an opportunity from that, because there was 5.7 billion people, three quarters of the world, I believe, watched a Christian funeral. However, we look at that, whatever way you look at the church, the church delivered a message, and scripture, and I honestly believe the UK has an open door, forget the pan, an open door, to get the Bible back in the UK. And I thank God for the Queen's life, a servant, whatever way we look at that strip, strip, the monarchies all away from that, but she served and God placed on this earth. And I honestly believe on her funeral day, God was speaking loud, loudly through the media through every area, that Christianity is alive, and well. and powerful. And the UK church stood up. So so a bit of a digression at this moment in time, but as we're looking at while I'm looking at Brother Andrew on the screen here, and open doors, Bible smuggling, I believe that there should be smuggling going on in the UK, getting Bibles back into the workplace. So brothers and sisters, let's get Bibles, even if we take a Bible in, pull it out of our bag and leave it on the side and just leave it and just walk away but get Bibles into schools workplaces. Get let's get the Word of God into the structure. Sandra's sorry about that?

Yes, no, the truth is true. Very important that them that people have the truth, and they have the opportunity to read it. And, yeah, so Christians in Burkina Faso are calling for prayer. Because there's been another coup just recently. And now this is very serious. And it's saying it's in the wake of spiraling Islamic militancy. And last Friday, 30th of September, residents woke up to gunfire close to the main military camp. Wow. And a blast was heard near the presidential palace. On Sunday, the President Paul Henri Dahm ba resigned to avoid further violence, and somebody else has to as somebody else from the military is taken over. So another leader and so due to this, there's instability. And they're saying in the midst of this instability, the militants are using it to their advantage. And their aim is to establish caliphate and Islamic state ruled by Islamic law, Sharia there's no Muslims are to be in the area, right okay. Right. So it would be Muslim only. Have so the one that is the saying Christians in the country are facing an existential threat. When there is chaos and disorder they flourish and, and further their aims. And this is what is happening now with the current unrest that's an observer on the ground. The current crisis has created a humanitarian catastrophe another one. The UN has highlighted suffering of serious hunger crisis over 630,000 people on the brink of starvation. And this has been exacerbated by a blockade by militant groups to prevent aid distribution, really, yes. So the militants control over 40% into the country. A similar scenario is taking place in the east, Christians represent nearly a quarter of the population and they are slowly being uprooted as Islamic radicals attempt to take over. One communist said, There is no room for Christians in the militant dream of Caliphate, Christians are deeply concerned and we should be to an Islamic takeover is terrible news for all of Africa and beyond. Wow. So they're saying, please pray about the political instability, and that the security forces will, you know, be able to counter the growing extremism. And the Christians in Burkina Faso, Faso will be kept safe from harm and have all their needs met. And that God will use the church in Burkina Faso to draw during this crisis to draw others to Jesus. So that was brought to my attention by my sister in law last night. She seen the email I hadn't because I've been at work. So I looked at it afterwards. And I thought, Oh, yes, I need to mention this. Yeah, definitely. So then I've been looking at India, and keeping a watch on things. And now on the first of September, the Indian court did have a preliminary hearing. And they have requested further evidence of the violence. And they have given the government two months to gather this evidence, and the case will be heard again, on the sixth of December. So Christians and other groups are asking and praying and saying, Please pray that the evidence is gathered fairly. And an accurate portrayal of the extreme persecution faced by Christians is shown. And the evidence will be gathered diligently, and nothing will be hidden. And so when the court, you know, convene on the sixth of December, and they will have all the facts that they need, but it's good that they took note. And that, you know, that something is being done, we pray that this, this all shink door opening is gonna open even wider, and the truth is going to be known. And they need to, you know, think about that, because there have been other courts saying about the fact that this is meant to be a democracy. This meant it is a democracy, but it's not acting like one. So yeah, so we just pray that there's more good news on that, but I thought I would bring that to you. So lots of things there. Right. So the head of China aid was over here or still over here. Actually, he was speaking somewhere in London yesterday. But he was actually near where we are. And I unfortunately, I couldn't go I had another event happening. But yes, Bob Foo was over here. I have heard him. Yeah, I have heard him before. And he has an amazing testimony. He's been in prison. He was in prison and escaped. Escaped through a window. Yeah, well, no, he was in prison. Then he was, I think he was released. Then they taught then he got word that a bit like Paul, he was going to be re arrested. And if he didn't leave the city before, you know, he would be you know, it'd be too late basically. And he managed to escape with his his family, and he has sought asylum and He now lives in America. But I mentioned at one point that he's also been harassed in America, there was a smear campaign on him and saying that they were misusing funds and, and getting involved with the Hong Kong business and everything. So what's here is about, you know, the treatment of prisoners, and it is dire. I mean, at the moment I'm reading, tortured for Christ, which is the Yes. Oh, it's one of my favorite things, I have to need to read my booklet Yes. Yes, I need to read this. And that is about the the guy pass. What was Wurmbrand? Richard Wurmbrand, who is the founder of release International. And so yes, I am reading his his book. Yes, Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, was imprisoned for 14 years in communist Romania, in the 1950s 1960s. And in 1968, the year I was born, he inspired the founding of release International, which today continues his ministry to serve persecuted Christians around the world, in the name of Jesus. And he says Christians, Christian love is always universal. With Christians, there is no partiality. Jesus said that the Son of God rises over good and evil. So that's the sun that comes up in the morning, rises over the good and the evil. The same is true about Christian love. I've been reading this book. And he's he tells you about some of the tortures that happened to him and happened to others. And he says there are more that he can't tell because they are so bad. And I am now reading about the sorts of things and when I was reading it, I was thinking, Oh, my goodness, this is North Korea. And this they have developed, what was going on in Romania is now what they how they're torturing in North Korea. Well, now I've read all this about the prisoners and faith and they are doing the same. It is it is it is horrendous, it is just unbelievable. And even now, they are not talking about it all.

I mean, of course they can like it's like

it's it's just it is just shocking. You know, what they're going through butts, butts butts, but the back come people are become Christians. Despite everything, and and like you were saying about the Word of God, you know how precious it is? Yeah, I mean, I was reading my devotional extreme devotions. And it was about a time in England, when Christians were burned at the stake. And it was talking about having the the Bible because at that time, you could only read it in Latin. Yes. And if you were found with it in English, anything like the Lord's Prayer, you seem to be heretic, I presume. I mean, you were just arrested. And then you were executed. And it was talking about this widow who had a scrap of paper in her in her pocket. And on that was the Lord's Prayer. And she was with a group of people who had all been sentenced to death. But because she was a widow, she was granted a pardon. But as she was led away by the guard, there was a rustle of paper. And the she was found to be holding because she thought she was going to die. She had taken the Lord's Prayer and it was found in her coat and she was burned at the stake for that. And, you know, just thinking about, like, you're saying, you know, the preciousness of the Word of God and just appreciating what we have. And this is a living word. And all the way through this, this looking the eye, looking the tiger in the eye, it is all about, you know how the Word of God sustained these people who were Christians, or became Christians, and then suffered torture, and some were martyred. And some have escaped, miraculously amazing. And next time, I will talk tell you about one man. And while you know, I was reading it at work in my lunch break, at stop eating, and I just thought I couldn't, you know, just Yeah, I couldn't read it all, actually, because it was, yeah, I had to get myself ready, I'm focused on my work. And I would have been a bit of a state going into class if I'd read any more. But But cod just enabled these people 40 days or more they were on the run and and the things that happened to them. So I'll just say just one. Now, and this is Chen. And he was a human rights lawyer, who was discredited by the Chinese Communist Party, because they've discredited all human rights lawyers know. And he had the audacity, the Chinese authorities felt to represent those despised by the state and was warned that if he carried on with this work, he would be forcibly disappeared. So he says, it wasn't so much that worried me, but the threats to my family, they forced the local school to borrow my children so they could not get an education. And we were forced to move home several times under pressure from the authorities. This is not an isolated case, this is going on with lots of Christians. And this Dong hyung was treated in a similar way. He says that he, you know, was quite young Christian in his faith when he took on this human rights thing. And it was because of because of coming to faith that that's how he got involved. And he says the scripture that helped me the most during these difficult days was Psalm 23. The Lord is my shepherd again, again, and again, this Lord is my shepherd. And he says, Christians are held on charge of states of state sub version, a catch all charge us to target anyone the authorities believe is challenging. It's not what it's about challenging the state's authority, such as church leaders, two weeks after being warned that he would be forcibly disappeared, chan and his family were able to escape from China by fleeing to my Mr.

is like going from the frying pan into the fire, but lo was there and God rescued them. And God has helped them. The Good Shepherd has looked after them, and because he is telling his story, he has escaped, and he is telling his story so that we know it, so that we can stand for the others. And those that we can write to, you know, that we write letters to to, you know, prisoners. And I mean, this is one thing. You know, like we said, Open Doors is Bibles released international Bibles started with prisoners. There, their focus is on help to prisoners, because of the fact that Richard Wurmbrand was as a prisoner and knew all about the suffering of prisoners. And yeah, there's still the Bible, obviously. So yeah, so it says that are that well, no, it's a different person. So yeah, I'll leave it there because this the same so much, but thank the Lord that Bob Foo was able to come and, you know, talk about these things firsthand. And, you know, pray that, you know, those meetings were well too ended and then the ones that he's still to have will be, and that people will really grasp what is going on. And that, you know, there will be more voices raised and the Lord will just lead us into how to, you know, pray and how to support says on the July the ninth 2015 In the days following following the crackdown. 200 lawyers and human rights activists, a significant number of Christians were rounded up, they were tortured, and their families were persecuted. From that point on almost all human rights lawyers in China have been disbarred. So it's been going on since 2015. So yeah,

wow. Yeah. Absolutely. Sandra has been speaking, I've been just put some stuff regarding the persecuted church on the socials and that and just pushing stuff out that we do also read in some of the literature we got in front of us online. We are certainly living in in times, if if, if a Christian is looking around for revival, the only place you're going to find revival is in the persecuted church. Not in attempt me in not on a transatlantic aircraft, somewhere where you've got pastors pushing for cash for themselves, you will find revival right in Afghanistan, North Korea, Somalia, Libya, Yemen, Eritrea, Nigeria, Pakistan, and that is Iran and India is number 10. So I've just read out that the top 10 rankings of 2022 of the World Watch List and what Sandra has been saying, we are in n times, UK church, open your eyes. This is this is beyond you look at the leaders we got in this nation. Our Lord, you know, I've got to be careful. Gotta be careful. But today is a good day, because we have been looking, looking at the persecuted church standards brought loads to the table. And Sandra is really gifted in this ministry. And thank God for a life of God has given her because Sandra has been brought to this earth for the End Time harvest for the persecuted church and the work that she does and the years and years of being faithful, faithful and little faithful in little. So please, brothers and sisters as we lift up the world, for persecute the church, before the Lord in prayer also lift up Sandra as well as and all those missionaries and everybody that's involved in the persecuted church. And what saw Sandra brings and drives with the gospel but Bibles. You know, this is a big thing. Bibles within the UK Bibles within the UK let's smuggle some Bibles in in the workplace. Come on, let's get some Bibles on the desk, get some Bibles in your CEOs office, get some Bibles. Leave some Bibles in the staff room, just leave them, you know, just just drop them, leave them. Just put them there. Come on. Sandra, you brought a lot to us today. And it's been really, really refreshing. And we thank God for your life. Sandra, is there anything that you can just finish up? Well, I mean, you know, what, the, the release International, the, the Scripture that they put for thinking about these Christians who are imprisoned today for their faith is carry each other's burdens. And that's in Galatians, six, two, and that's what we're doing in in bringing all these things to your attention, that, you know, where we're, we're sharing the burden, and we're bringing it to the Lord. And you know, because they're in need, and we pray, you know, as I say, for the workers, who offer pastoral care to those in prison, to the churches and the families of prisoners of faith, who are distributing support to them and food and encouragement, you know, so yeah, praise God. That's, so that's the thing. So says, Yeah, Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Oh, amen. So that's what we needed to do.
