Reverend Ben Cooper:

Good afternoon and welcome. Thank you so much for joining us here. Obviously it is what is the time we are for 21 We for 21 According to the laptop for 21 Good afternoon, wherever you are across the earth. We thank you so much for joining us today. You are joining myself, Reverend Ben Cooper and Reverend Brian Greenaway. As we get back in we have missed him he is back here. He's a very, very busy, busy, busy man for the ministry. And thank God that we got in for these 45 minutes as he just gives us a recap. And I know there's a few of you that want to get a few more of these podcasts out there regarding my hours, and we will do. But we've got Brian with us. And we're just gonna spend 45 minutes on a recap, looking at what we've come through what's going through what's happening in the world of Israel, through the biblical viewpoint. So welcome, everybody. You can find us on Buzzsprout, Spotify, I Heart Radio, and so many other platforms. And we thank you so much for joining us. So wherever you are today, never give up. There's always hope. So we're in Brian, it's great to see you again. Good to be event. Thank you so much, my friend for coming back. It's been a long time, isn't it? It has been Yeah, quite a few weeks. It's been really, really busy. Come on, let's get straight in where we go in. So we've last time we met we had a good good recap, didn't we? And I think that's very, very relevant all the time to have a recap and to go back over things. But we're just in a very interesting position within the UK, aren't we? Obviously with that great servant, Queen has gone quite a number of weeks to the king is in place. Very interesting. He was talking about some figures and some interesting stuff that's going on around the finance markets. We've got Liz trust today, you've got the government, you know, everything happened in breaking out. But it's a great time to be alive. I think.

Brian Greenaway:

It is. Yeah, it certainly is. And you know, as believers in Jesus, we need to keep looking up and not have the fear because God says He will never leave us ever forsake us it always be with us. And so we can trust that currently we're working, you know, there's a really shaking that or shaking the earth shaking. It's not just the UK. And I think sometimes we can be a bit of focus company, we watch the news, and we think it's just us

Reverend Ben Cooper:

we do its world alone, or even socially. I was listening to a guy yesterday, another area I work in, and he said for the first time in history, the capital market, the big area of funding is almost frozen for a while, because they're so tender of what's happening. There's there's a bit of rumbles of light, what's going on? So we are in a very tender place globally, aren't we? The economy, the famines, the wars, the rumors of wars, everything we are talking about and seen is so clear in the Bible. So Israel is a great place to look at, isn't it?

Brian Greenaway:

It is yeah. Because that's one of our indicators, isn't it? It's one of our indicators. Often the Christian church has said through history is Jesus coming back? And you repeat it? Maybe Peter made clear Second Peter chapter three. And he said that in the last days, it'd be scoffer saying, Where is this coming, etc. But we know the faithfulness of God, you know, in that scripture in particular, in that that chapter, you know, Peter is saying, you know, look, God is faithful. He intervened in history before he talks about creation. Then he talks about the flood. And he says, Look, God intervened in history before he's going to intervene again, he's gonna and we can be sure that as he created the earth as he flooded the earth in judgment before that he will return one day. Brilliant state shocked by that most definitely. I don't know about you. But

Reverend Ben Cooper:

I feel really I feel quite comfortable and at peace, because I've suddenly hit a point in my own personal journey with Christ that this is meant to be this is nothing of the enemy trying to, you know, it is scripture. So where we sit as Christ said, Watch out for the signals and the signs and the points. Yes, that will indicate there's a clear indicator and I think eyes are being opened. You look at the government, you look at the finances you look at even at education, even look at the would you say auto that is a big topic, would you say that we're almost in that falling away of the church? Would you say that there is a stripping back? What what is going on?

Brian Greenaway:

Well, it's an interesting subject, isn't it? And I think you know, what people need to realize that they is history is Israel centric. Yes. Now that's not a popular thing to say. Now it's not because Israel is better but because God has set things up that way, isn't he? So yeah, when you look at sort of global politics and geopolitical issues, God made these covenants with Israel and so that that affects history effects World History. Yeah. And even more so now as we approach the Lord's return. Now even more so so I think it's quite interesting that lives trust said at the Conservative Party calm France couple of weeks ago when there was the conservative friends of Israel, she said, I'm a huge Zionist. Well, everything what? Why Prime Minister going to that? What is a fringe meeting in a way with lots of other senior ministers and saying, I'm a huge Zionist, and we're going to move we're thinking of moving the embassy to Jerusalem. And then there was another minister saying, yeah, we've got some land, let's do it. And, you know, that puts her in the crosshairs of the enemy, because he doesn't like the promises to Israel and where the Prime Minister is a very, you know, it's not any Prime Minister UK is quite an influential country. It's very when she says, it doesn't say, Yeah, I have I have sympathy with it wasn't holding back in any way. It was a very, right you're now in the target. You are now going to be targeting Nadler said that that's to die. Today is the day that she's resigned.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Wow, there's a statement to say from a British pilot Prime Minister.

Brian Greenaway:

Say that sort of thing. It's and

Reverend Ben Cooper:

I'll be honest, I take my hat off to her. No, no, you know what, Wow, Lord, what is going on? But we've seen such a changing of

Brian Greenaway:

the guards. Who what's gonna happen next are

Reverend Ben Cooper:

watching this this show unfold? Isn't it if watching the human reality program? Yeah. And so Brian, it's really good to have you with us today. So we have we are in or we've come from, and we're going to about the feasts. Where do we sit? What is the relevance of the feasts?

Brian Greenaway:

Okay. Yeah, well, it's quite interesting. We just passed Of course, the autumn feasts. Yeah. So just to recap, for those who are new, maybe there are seven major feasts or festivals in the Bible. They're in Leviticus 23. And of course, they appear elsewhere, summarized in Leviticus 23. And so you've got Passover, and then you've got unleavened bread, and you've got first fruits, which are more at the same time. So Easter Passover time, which fulfilled by Jesus says, His sinless death, unleavened bread, sinless death, and resurrection is the fulfillment of Passover, and the first fruits. So all at once they happened within a week, just about a week, those repeats. And he fulfilled them in that time as well, when the three feasts a bit. And then there was shoved OT or Pentecost, which is the pouring out the Holy Spirit when the church was created, in a certain sense wasn't because a Holy Spirit came upon the church. So Jesus said, I'm going away. And they said, we don't we do our way. And he said, it's better because I'll send another because the Holy Spirit came, pouring out His Holy Spirit on those disciples were the birth of the church 2000 years ago, and commissioned the church into the harvest. And of course, these feasts are all have an agricultural meaning as well. Unleavened Bread. Yep. So think that shovel is first fruits of the harvest, so they parallel. And so we had Pentecost, and the church was commissioned to be the vehicle for the kingdom of God, for the extension of the gospel, and it still is now back commission 2000 years ago, it's still applicable to believers and the church today. But the interesting thing is if we follow, so we got those seven fees, and then we come to the autumn fee. So we have Yom Teruah, which is the Feast of Trumpets. Then we have Yun Kapoor, the Day of Atonement. And then we have tabernacles, or the staccato as we call it in Hebrew. So we have the next three feasts, which again, like the earlier feasts are together, they're all sort of quickly one after the other. There's one then as a bracket gap of 10 days, 10 days, or then as soon as your report ends, a couple of days later, we have the Feast of Tabernacles. So you see that pattern, Three spring feasts, one feast in the summer, and three in the autumn. Now, the interesting thing about that feasts, and we just lost last week, we just finished the vision Tabernacles is that this speaks about the Second Coming of Jesus, you know the sound of the trumpet sound of the trumpet, which we see in the Old Testament, but also Paul makes it very clear and others that Jesus will return at the sound of the trumpet. So there's a parallel there with the feast of trumpets and the return of Jesus. That's very significant. And then atonement speaks of His atoning death of Tony digitally with a focus on the Jewish people because you know, that is about their forgiveness, atonement. And then Tabernacles is about him. God tabernacle and with us, so you get there coming down on John, it says, And the Word the Word became flesh and tabernacle to the Greek word is Skinner. And that means tabernacle. So, Jesus tabernacle with us people saw him, he was physically he was physically able to see that's an

Reverend Ben Cooper:

interesting word. You said tabernacle. Yeah. Because one, John, Charlie One, John chapter one, it says, And the Word became flesh and the NIV says, made his dwelling among us saying, but the correct terminology I've never heard what presented it like before, I've never read that way. He tabernacle because that changes to me that makes that stronger. Well in we get that we enjoy this fine wine but but the tabernacle. Now I can relate that. I can relate that to the face that I've made a connection. So I've learned something. They're very important. Hmm, so that's interesting. Yeah, he came down and he tabernacles right.

Brian Greenaway:

Yeah. tabernacled So, and that not only talks about the past, you know, Jesus tabernacle being on the wedding axis, but also it looks at things a revelation and that right at the end of the book, we know the end of the story you can have peace. It says that God tabernacled with them. So that word again? Yes, he is. Yeah, so we're gonna see God are soo believers are going to see God physically, at the end, right at the end of time when it says that they don't need the light of the sun or the moon, wow. Because he will be their God and he will tabernacle with them, same word. So in the same way that the disciples saw Jesus in the flesh, and he says, John says, Enjoy wonder that which we have handled concerning the Word of Life handled the we handled God in a way where this is normally at first physical contact with God, through His Son, Jesus. And you know, he's got to pause. And then when we come to Revelation, we're gonna have that same experience, Jesus is gonna come back, not as meek and lowly, he will come back as Judge, because judge, and then he will, you know, for 1000 years, your reign, and then eventually, when things have been sorted out, the devil has finally been judged and thrown into the into hell, then God will come down himself. I don't dwell with us. Yeah.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

When you think it works? Well, you just pretend that God Himself. So Christ is coming back. But then, yeah, but then we'll make His tabernacle God will make himself known.

Brian Greenaway:

Yeah, we will see him and it will be quite an amazing time.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

There's not I know, you're in a different world of what I am referring to ministry, but I don't actually. And I haven't heard for such a long time in time preaching. Which is quite sad, isn't it? Because I think if in time preaching has been preached quite strongly for a number of years now, I don't think that will be so like, Christians adding rabbits in the headlights of thinking what is going on? When actually if we'd been prepared for the signals and the signs, as Jesus said, and been strengthened, in in the biblical times in which we live, I think that a lot, maybe maybe I've got this wrong, but the possibility that many of us Christians, believers would be maybe just a bit stronger as in light, that what we see is to be expected, and how we feel because there's a strange atmosphere. And is there something wrong with me? Why am I not getting this? Right? There's a lot of unrest and uncertainty. And we see these these big mechanical movements that governments and finance markets clogging and stopping. And when the human eye catches that, and the human ear hit catches there, it does put a shadow through you. And you think, actually, what he's always about. Yeah, so n times, that book of Revelation and about, you know, I think there's a time now where the church needs to prepare, and get this, get this. So what you're bringing today, so I've learned something today, just from that one word alone. Now that has changed and connected me more to the Old Testament. So wording and that the language in which we speak is very important, isn't it? So if we're not careful over we spoke about the word Easter, didn't we? Now, I don't use that word anymore. I use the word pastor. Yeah, so it should be and so that has really changed but for all my ministry, Chris, everything has been it's Easter, it's Easter, it's Easter, but that's a world worldly language. And you've got to be very careful because you've got how that how the world uses that and how I would use that yes,

Brian Greenaway:

I think that's key isn't it? Because I think we don't anytime stuff doesn't need to be controversial No, it doesn't I'm just not as is quite straightforward. It's clearer sometimes be really caught up in you know, this kind of horrors and that and you know, then it causes division now my belief is eschatology in time so you should unite us not divide us so when we correct we should be able to celebrate the fact that Jesus is returning celebrate the fact that he will put things right on wipe away every tear and they no more dying no more crying all that stuff. You know, and that should be something to celebrate not to argue about. Yeah.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Yeah, the four horses what color sign it

Brian Greenaway:

you got doesn't it didn't give us that? So we could argue over it? No, he gave it to give us hope and give us your new

Reverend Ben Cooper:

light. It's interesting what you said he hasn't given us that much detail as in people like to over engineer of the actual process. God said, Christ is coming back. That that's a given. That's enough.

Brian Greenaway:

We don't have to know everything. No, we don't know everything. I mean, does anybody anywhere know everything? Only God does? Well know a few people think that they know everything we're doing, but you don't you're not gonna say oh, let God be God. And I'm Brian. And my, my limited mental capacity compared with him. He's not even worth measuring. And I'm quite happy because that's faith, isn't it? Because we're supposed to be people of faith

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Jesus, and that's been a lot on my heart lately. He said, Just believe yes. Right. And I think you're right. And what we're saying is Just a human. I am Ben, I am Brian, I believe and I don't understand, I can't never understand. Not gonna understand. But it's not for us to get ourselves into this theological depth. And I think sometimes theology can take us down a rabbit hole that confuses us more than actually just going, I'm just gonna play and be ready. So the signs in which we are today we look at Israel, we look at the UK government, we look at America with Asia, we look at Russia, we look at Ukraine, the wars, everything. There is nothing that has caught God by surprise. So when we were talking earlier about that beautiful servant, the queen now we have the King Show, and he was talking about figures and numbers and dates and the relevance of the number seven, you said about seven as in feasts. We know that seven is a biblical number. Sure. No, I'm gonna say something. Was that by chance that there was seven feasts? Is there any reference to why is there seven? Because seven, as we know, is that number that is all number seven, number of

Brian Greenaway:

completion. That is yeah, the seven churches Yeah. So that the seven spirits of God in the Old Testament there are seven is, is a number that you need to look out for. Not that you get carried away by

Reverend Ben Cooper:

because then you get into numerology, and you go too far to try

Brian Greenaway:

to dive in when they were just enjoying. And now that number is significant. I mean, it was, I mean, it's quite interesting, isn't it that our Queen died in her 70th year? Yeah, right. And, I mean, I don't go in for a lot of these things, but it is introduce some method of the Shmita year which is like a jubilee year in a way every seven years the land should be left in the Old Testament should be left fallow to rest to rest to rest, like a Sabbath. Yeah, that sort of thing, which Israel never did. And so after they had racked up many, many years of not doing the Jubilee, amongst other stuff, God sent them into exile. And the land had rest. Many Sabbath threats. You see, they're so good. Okay. Yeah, we're not a covenant nation. The UK is not a covenant nation like Israel, it doesn't have a covenant specifically with God. That is set out in the in the in the earlier testament. But I find it quite interesting that, you know, we'd also been in 70, the year and although she'd been here, it was a surprise, wasn't it to the nation, it was a very big surprise that it was a shock. But I noticed that after she passed away, they had this thing in place called Operation London Bridge had been planned for many years that said that she had to be buried within 10 days of her death. But it was actually 11 days because they moved it to the Monday for some other reason, probably because it was better, I don't know. But on that day of the, when the funeral took place, the king had asked earlier that the royal family observed seven days of mourning. And that seven days of mourning ended at the end of ended at Rosh Hashanah when the Jewish endear at that so yeah, so that is the year before so it was 5782 that was a year so the seven days of mourning ended at the end of the Jewish New Year that Canada I do think is just that's just like to me I'm not trying to dig too deep but again, it's quite interesting quite significant those the sevens fit in with what

Reverend Ben Cooper:

seven fit in with what's happening doesn't a year that's called this meteor so and it's it also it's it can be intriguing carnate the mystery? Yeah, the mystery behind everything. But as you said about the seven things are happening very quickly. You know, there's a lot of stuff happening we we felt like the world was gonna end I did in COVID times and wouldn't need somebody that's gone out the door to a degree. We've got finance crack we've got so everything is so quick, isn't it? We're seeing things week on week, day on day. You know, as we come back to the coin, she was shaking hands, we've lost trust that day. And then one or two days later, suddenly we hear in a nose and suddenly Boris, Boris and Les swap over, you know, and then the king and then this and then that now today, less trust has resigned 24 days 44 days later. So you look you're looking at this, this so much handling in British government we've never seen before. So this is a time for us to really look at what Christ says at the end times. Look at the signal points, the breaking downs, the signs in the skies, the heavens above. So these feasts and these the sevens and it all goes together somewhere in the puzzle in mystery as the gospel is a mystery. If it wasn't a mystery wouldn't be God. He has to reveal this stuff. And I believe we are living in very powerful spiritual times

Brian Greenaway:

when there's another very significant thing is that I remember seeing it a documentary with the queen bee is back and the person was interviewing her. And at that time they brought out to Edmonds crown I think so What's the state crown that sat upon her? Coffee? Yeah. I mean, this crown goes back a long time. I think it was fine in it with the confessors. Coffee. Wow. And they took it out and probably been tidied up a bit since. Polish, but that is the actual crown. So it goes back a long way. Now there was Indische, the crown was bought out by the Crown jeweler wearing his gloves. And the interviewer moved a little bit closer. She went on Oh said you can't touch it. She has no one's allowed to touch the ground except for me. And so I had a little bit research and the Crown jeweler can touch it with gloves. And apparently the Archbishop of Canterbury can touch it as well, because he has to put it on put it on the monitor. Yes. But I noticed that the internment, which apparently if you didn't record it, you can't see now though, the palace asked certain elements of the funeral, because very personal, very can never be seen again on public television. And that was the service in George's Chapel. Because yeah, obviously the king lost his mother who's very sad. And it shouldn't be something we'll be watching every once in a lifetime was but the thing that I noticed was, so you had the breaking of the staff? Yes, people. It wasn't right that it was just cooked. But so and then they took the the crown. Yeah. And the orb and the off off the off of the coffee. And they gave it to the the, the, the he's the rector of the Dean of St. George's Chapel. And he took it with his bare hands. And I said to Elizabeth, my wife, I said, he's just taking it with his hands. I thought No one's allowed to touch it. And he took them from the jeweler, and he put them onto a watch that the church. And I thought isn't it interesting, because what we've seen now is it just shows you the response with the church because the church has now taken those emblems off its and of course, the orb with the cross is supposed to represent Christianity all over the world. So now the church holds on to those symbols of office and the symbols but until they crown the king, so now the church has responsibility. I believe a transfer responsibility between the death of her Monique and the funeral and the crowning of the king is now going to be amazed Miley May. So now the church now many of our listeners, like myself may not be judging us Fair enough. Yeah. And I don't have any connections at all with them. But nonetheless, they are the state church. Whether you agree with that or not, it's up to you. But they have a responsibility that they're connected

Reverend Ben Cooper:

to we can't get away we can't get away from the responsibility

Brian Greenaway:

and not that they're part of the state part of and they are holding this staff of office of the Royals until it's given to them so they carry that responsibility to me It spoke of saying church guys we need to wake up when he did pray. Authority.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

We do we need to think long enough with I don't think we do that enough. We need to pray for leaders. Yeah. You know, very significant times very powerful. And you are right, the transfer in an eye I believe. I don't know if it's just me, but I don't know if anyone else picks this up. That when a coin was taken home the atmosphere was very different. And it feels as if we've gone into a very unusual time was she that anointed because we cuz she had a strong faith. They got a here to keep us to protect us to Goddess, whatever way you look at that I still can't get away that I feel very different. Now that that servant Yeah, that servant, the defender of the faith has been taken home, it feels as if I wouldn't say the protection is gone, because then making me sound like I'm looking at her as a protector, but what she represented and what the authority that she carried, and who she was in the servant heart, she had a very godly lady. It feels as if there's been a bit of an opening of the of, of an of a gateway or have we feel more vulnerable, feel a bit wider. It feels like we're going for a breathing, breathing move like or not because God never leave us nor forsake us. I'm not putting any weight on on a person. But when you look at what we're looking at, and the biblical times it feels as if we're we're very vulnerable. We're very, we're very, very touches with the queen. Now you looked at her there was stability, she was strong, she was a fantastic leader. Now when certain leaders are extracted and God calls them Christian leaders, there is a significant impact. We see that through the Bible when leaders were taken. Yeah martyred though was taken, there was a lot of change. So we are experiencing I don't like to use the word atmosphere because I'm frightened that people might think that I'm using a terminology that is hyper churchy, but it's there's a there's a feeling there's a there's an undercurrent that there is a rumbling of what's next yeah

Brian Greenaway:

and and easily

Reverend Ben Cooper:

easiness so what you got there regarding the feasts and everything is going on and the numbers and the Queen and Liz trust and on what's happening in Israel. We are living in really powerful time. I feel blessed to be alive to see what I'm saying. So what's next on the table do we have in front of you that is very relevant for us to look at to see where we sit. The church is, well, what's the latest? And you're going back to Israel? And a few Well,

Brian Greenaway:

yeah, I've got to exam we've been Israel again. Yeah. Which is good. I think one, that thing that is interesting is, you know, in John, Chapter Four is a couple of things. Actually, the John chapter four, Jesus says, this is the chapter where he talks about the Samaritan woman, and his disciples going back and forth and talking to her. And then it moves on to a general discussion with his disciples about the harvest. And you know, and he says, you know, do you not say they're still four months. And then comes the harvest bolt, I say to you lift up your eyes, to the fields that already wait for harvest, he says to them. And, I mean, I'm not hurting way of saying this. But I thought was quite interesting, that verse because there are four months between the Feast of Pentecost, pouring out the Holy Spirit, and the Feast of Trumpets. So that's four months. So in the agricultural cycle, they are the format's of the harvest. And what would happen in Israel in the times of Jesus than before, was that people would harvest during this time, different crops. And then when the Feast of Trumpets came in the trumpet would sound it would be the end of the harvest time during the harvest. And so, you know, this is going here that parallel there that as a church as the church generally because obviously, the feasts are a seven cycle during the whole year. However, the feasts, if you like, the festivals, they speak of the pattern of redemption, that we are congregation, between the Feast of Pentecost, the commissioning of the church, and the Feast of Trumpets, where the church says, what the law says is that you finished your work, the Lord is coming back, the harvest is over. It's time to stop harvesting, because the Lord of the harvest is here. And so we if you look at the feasts as a whole cycle of world history, we are between those two feasts that were in the four months.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

So we're in that cycle. And that also we're in that on the Queen has been called home within the form. Oh, yeah, with everything from the day of Pentecost to now

Brian Greenaway:

2000 years ago to when the Lord returns is that four month period if you like,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

you're referring to the one redemption as well. Yeah, what kind of redemption, redemption. So it's all very significant of everything that's happening, and how strong and powerful the biblical references are. So we're in we're in a, are we in a quiet season? Is that is that is that season? It's like, what, what's next? It feels it feels quiet, but loud. It feels tender, but Okay, so you're trying to not wrestle with your earthly feelings and go by your feelings of fear and what's happening next and go. Well, actually, Lord, I believe and I trust in you for whatever is happening like today a very, very powerful and a very almost bruising day again for for British politics. Another major thing another we've had, what do we have? We have Brexit COVID, the queen, the King, the all the stuff going on? Again, Boris. And then again today? Another major. Another major mark on? Yeah, so. So the app, I use the word atmosphere, because it's an easy word to connect with. There is a lot of tenderness. So a lot of people that are very strong politically will be looking and looking at the political markets. And a lot of Christians as well, I know Christians that are very politically driven. And they're so if I keep looking at the political area, and take my eyes off what Christ is doing, and through Israel, I could become quite fearful. But if I keep my eyes on Israel, as in you said earlier, the clock Yes, yeah, the biblical clock ticking. And then I look at Thessalonians. I look at Revelation, and the prophecies for the times I can get a bit I can get stronger myself. Because I know a lot of Christians at the moment have very, not disappeared in their faith, but just like, What is going on?

Brian Greenaway:

I know, yeah, we need to be staying in the Word. We asked the key root depth of biblical literacy, I think amongst believers, biblical literacy. I love the way that we're people need to read the Word and be in the word constantly. Yeah, that's what life is.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

And we've said this before now we've podcasts, we broadcasted over this, how relevant to understand what the feasts are, and when they fall and what they're about. I think, I think now as we talk and as this open discussion, honestly believe that we should maybe go back over what you brought before and just do do these fees because I learned something today just through you Just in his conversation, tabernacle tabernacle, Lynn has changed my biblical view, my understanding. Oh, that's a stronger word a stronger word than he made his dwelling among us. Yeah. Tony is good word. But yeah, it's a good word. But it's like that what you told me then what you've brought is, is a very.

Brian Greenaway:

There's another interesting side to it about the face. This is a little more more detailed. So we said about the Feast of Trumpets. Yeah. So it's an interesting feast, because traditionally, it's been held over two days. So this is like the new year. Right? So Young to me is the day of trumpeting Feast of Trumpets, and then more modern days, we call it Rosh Hashanah, the head of the year, the new year now, we have four new years. Okay, Passover, this one and one for the trees. But don't worry about that. This may be us Jewish people in difficult. But anyway, so for this, this Russia center. Now. Now we have electronic clocks. So we know when the months in that sort of stuff now in the time of Jesus, and before then after that, we didn't have electronic clock,

Reverend Ben Cooper:

small bronze. See, now we have electronic,

Brian Greenaway:

but then they didn't. So yeah. How did they know? How does they know? Okay, right. So this is what used to happen was that, particularly with the new year, because this month, when the new year started, was very important to blow the trumpets at the right time for the Feast of Trumpets. So, but the way they were told the month, the beginning of the month would be it's a lunar calendar. Okay. It's not like us. The day starts at midnight, that the deck next day starts when the moon appears. Oh, my goodness. Okay. So how does that work? Well, what they used to do in those days was that they could say that the new year would start when the sliver of a new moon would appear in the sky. Well, this is I had two witnesses, okay. Two witnesses would said they'd seen the New Moon appear, they would come to the temple, on the north side of the temple would be the high priest and his counsel. And they would examine the Two Witnesses together. And they would say to them, first of all, if they're reliable people who have these people where they come from, have they got other reliable people, etc. And secondly, asking them about what they saw. And if the high priests and his group were happy that these were two reliable witnesses, they would say, right guys crack out the trumpets shofar. Let's blow it's the shofar. And that's how it would be decided. So people who were you know what a wise, because they'd have to stop the harvest then would be thinking, right, we're getting near the New Year, we know it's around about now. So make sure we get the harvest and make sure we're ready for trumpet to blow and we down towards because it's a non working time. Now, people who were silly would not be paying any attention, then suddenly they hear the trumpet from the temple. Okay, cool. I think oh, no, you know, I've got my harvest in. Now, if interest interesting, Jesus says, No one Brahma when Jesus was on the earth, He said, No one knows the day or the hour, except not even the angels. Or me says the father only knows. And he says that a couple of tiny golf now, I'm not naming dates. Because that's wrong. And we shouldn't do that. Yeah. However, when later on in Thessalonians, Paul says, You're not ignorant brothers. You know, you understand the times, you shouldn't be caught unawares. So is that, you know, when it talks, when Jesus talks about the sound of the trumpet, and not knowing the day or the hour, I hope you can see the parallel I can, again, parallel between this feasts where they're waiting to spot the new moon. And they don't know when it's going to be, but they know it's going to be soon. And so for believers, we will never know the exact day and the exact time but we know when it's soon we will understand, understand the seas understand the times will see the season, we know the time is short. And so we are ready. We've done everything that God will be faithful servants, we knew everything that God wants us to do not thinking, Oh, I'll sort that out later on. And then suddenly, there have been challenges, you should have put that right. I'm not saying people lose their salvation, although there is an aspect of those who are not believers. But actually, as believers, we should be working hard now. Because we see the signs we see the times we see that his return is near. So there's a parallel there with that feast, when you don't know the day in the hour, and when Jesus says you don't know the day and the hour, a bit post times it bit and he says, Come on, guys, you're not going to be called out. You're not going to be ignorant. No. And you will understand if you watch the times you understand the times you're prayerful you're in the word you will see and understand that the coming of Jesus is very near. That's really

Reverend Ben Cooper:

again again so that to me in picture form, because that's how I learn very easy is that I have that picture. There's lots of pictures out there on the socials of of that person blowing that shofar with the prayer shawl on and that's, to me that's a really interesting because as soon as you I equate it to that thinking that, you know, the blowing of the trumpet, and that's that's so biblically relevant that we got to keep listening. Listening. Wise, yeah, looking at The seasons, you know, and that has fascinated me what you've actually said also about, we've got, now we've got clocks almost. Because when you think about that, that you can't you, you could lose time in fact, couldn't you you could lose like, obviously our time is governed by the millisecond. And everything is so precise. Everything we do is so precise with what they was looking at, there must have been some slight movement, as in because they're waiting and watching. But they're there their whole life, their whole clock. Everything was relying on the lunar

Brian Greenaway:

calendar, your lunar calendar. Yeah. So it gets around their heads is

Reverend Ben Cooper:

to get to hard to understand that I'd like to maybe if you could explore that a bit more one time. But how, how that is so powerful, that you're looking into the heavens, and you're waiting for heaven to move and creation, to to tell you what to do next season, an agriculture that Luna is very, very important to the field of harvest. So you're looking at, you're looking at, and that's what we should be doing for the return of Christ is looking at looking out. Yeah, because yeah, that's the harvest time. Yeah. So if there is such an awakening, at this moment, let's look up. We got to look up because the time is now the seasons, the switching of leaders, the the lack of the misinterpretation of the almost that you can go and do whatever you want, with no consequence, and that this is real clear signal as to where we sit. So what's happening briefly, what we got, like 10 minutes there, sorry, about 10 minutes what's happening quickly in Israel, what what should we be looking at thinking about? What what do you see brewing?

Brian Greenaway:

Right, okay, well, we have another election. Yeah, the fifth elections? It's 19. Yeah, on the first of November, because the government has fallen on various reasons. So who knows, we may have Bibi Netanyahu, as prime minister, some people are dead set against that. We may end up with someone else. It's all because they're looking for a king. And we said to them, if you have a king, he's never going to be that good. You need to look to me. So that's part of shaking, what's happening in Israel. But there's, you know, in Israel, there are issues at the moment. There's problem. There's lots of unrest. So there is for various reasons, not only because we come out to the election, but amongst the Arab people there. There's quite a lot of unrest, and there's been rioting. There's been difficulties from different parts of I'm not blaming No, no. It's just just your narratives with what we say. That's right. Yeah. And there's been quite a lot of terrorism as well. So we've seen this new terrorist group. So you've got, you know, come as in the Gaza Strip, yeah, with Islamic Jihad, and they don't like each other anyway. So

Reverend Ben Cooper:

they fight each other. They've been there almost forever alone. Like that's just normal.

Brian Greenaway:

They voted them in and they never left. So that's what is, and they don't care for their people. And then you've got the fat out of Palestinian Authority in the West Bank areas in Judea, Samaria, that area. So none of them like each other. And then you've got this new one called, I think it's called the company. It's like the den of lions. I think it's a new den of lions new terrorist organization. So

Reverend Ben Cooper:

that's a big tile to

Brian Greenaway:

sort of Hamas and Fatah together, separate themselves out and Israelis having when two soldiers I think were killed last week. So sad. And this terrorist attacks nearly every day, not so much in Israel proper. But in in the fringes of the areas on the West Bank area, and Israel are trying to stop the terrorist cells and then people shooting up the checkpoints and everything. So there's quite a degree of unrest in the country at the moment with all that going on. And the political scene doesn't help it. So it's it's difficult days in Israel for the moment for for violence and everything. And you always wonder whether it's going to move on to something more general. Yeah. And in photography, they call it a general uprising. And then the Bedouin people who have a wonderful heritage within that Bedouin group, and we feature it in our latest November report comes out November, there's a whole feature in the magazine. And Mark was magazine then on the bedroom project that we're doing during the gospel, because traditionally, their tribal people still are not really indigenous because they travel their bedroom, by nature of who they are. But they have been infiltrated by radical Islam, which is not Israel at all, you know, because I live in Israel proper. It's about 300,000 them so. But I mean, that's just a quick skim, but it's in it's in a race report. We're trying to bring the Gospel to Bedouin people. Because it's the gospel is the only hope. Really, you know, we see the unrest. And if you read the book of Zechariah, as you get towards the end of the book, you'll see what's going to happen in Israel. And it's tragic because we know that there's going to be more and more violence. There's going to be a time of terrible persecution where many people will die and That's sad. But that's what the book tells us is going to happen that we're heading to, you know, a time when

Reverend Ben Cooper:

signs, the signs and what you very quickly skim through. The signs are ramping up daily for this process to happen, which is a shame. I know what what what the scripture says. But then you think about this is God's This is God's nation. There seems to be so much violence and so much uprising from day one. It just seems to be normal. But it's been a progressive generation after generation to this big this big.

Brian Greenaway:

Wow, you got the Iran problem because what's gonna happen? They're coming over. And they overspill from the war. Yeah, crane. Yeah. And serious over unstable this alliance between Russia and Iran. And nobody's really got to deal with turkeys doing you know, the other one that what is who is aligning with who he's talking to. And even recently, Russia has had another go at Israel again, because Israel have sided with the as most countries about the Ukraine, everything. And people took them like Gog and Magog and Russia and Iran. Who knows what that is?

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Right? So when you look at Israel, it's tiny, isn't it? But it's like always, he's always got his guns out. It's always like, was protected. It's always protecting itself always got to put how many people are in now what about 9 million people? We've got roughly 67 68 million here. So there's only 9 million and it feels like the eyeballs are the world. We're always the Pfister baiting. We're always coming against this tiny, tiny little nation, but it's still doing what it's doing. It's still going until the Scripture calls what's gonna happen, it's gonna happen.

Brian Greenaway:

And it's very safe that I'd only get the brushes. No, no, no, no, they're in two weeks time.

Reverend Ben Cooper:

Right. And there's another side to that. It's very safe. It's very powerful. But then you see the other side to it, which is the everything we see about is very biblical. So Brian has been so great to catch up with you and obviously we won't see to come back now. But we thank you so much for just bringing this and it's been a great time just broadcasting ever again and to record this podcast. So Brian, how can people get a hold of you? What is the process?
