Good morning, wherever you are today you got the chuckles This morning the Chuckle brothers have before you this morning. God bless you, wherever you are today. May God strengthen you and guide you. You know, never give up hope we are living in really powerful spiritual times, especially if you're living within the UK, you're seeing the government switching around and changing. But God is still on the throne. He is the king. He is the Lord of lords and wherever you are today, we thank you from the bottom of our heart here, Simon and myself for all the shares and everything that's going on across the world of podcasting for the 1000s of downloads that are out there with other stuff that's going on and you can find us on so many platforms but we just want to say thank you. Thank you so much for listening to this stuff. Simon we're in
Simon Pinchbeck:Yeah, go on in barely scraping across the mics again with you in in sunny Swanley.
Reverend Ben Cooper:The sun is out. Yeah, the
Simon Pinchbeck:sun is out there.
Reverend Ben Cooper:The trolleys.
Simon Pinchbeck:People are out,
Reverend Ben Cooper:sliders are out, the White Socks are up the tracksuit trousers are tucked in Jesus is alive
Simon Pinchbeck:All in her pajamas, do some shopping. Before we will be getting to come on the text today because we're going to talk again about the 10 commandments because last week, we were 50 minutes in bed, we only covered two. So there's a lot to be going on with and we're gonna get into a few more. But what landed on our doorstep this week been
Reverend Ben Cooper:unreal, absolutely so glorious, and the speed it's happened in it. Yeah, tell us what we got what we got
Simon Pinchbeck:Ben, we got a Christian straight tool, gospel of John, just a very small giveaway. And just open it up. And it's straight into the gospel jumpers an explanation of how you can begin a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Really great stuff. And it's just a little bit about Christians straight talk and, but they're just great little giveaways. And so if anybody wants any of these, we've already put these out on social media on Facebook, and whatever, if anybody wants any of these, just contact as Simon at CES talk.uk. And we'll get some give us your address, we'll get some out to you free of charge for the first for the first batch. Yeah, and, you know, our brother across the table, Reverend Dell, we've got about 50,000. And these
Reverend Ben Cooper:cupboards, they're everywhere. They're everywhere. They're
Simon Pinchbeck:great. We're so two weeks ago, we sat across the table and thought this would be a good idea. And now the suddenly
Reverend Ben Cooper:they're everywhere. Within 14 days, they're everywhere. And I just it's amazing how God moves, isn't it when something when God is is leading you into, and the doors open? how things change? You know, in ministry, there are so many ministers and people building their own platform. When you build your own platform, it is just it's impossible. But the speed we can't actually emphasize and just tell people can we how this has come around so quick and so powerful with I cannot say with no effort. But do you know what I mean with light? Well, within a blink of an eye, it all fits seamlessly, seamlessly and the artwork and
Simon Pinchbeck:the professionalism of the of these books is absolutely amazing. And to get one in your hands. It's it would be it will be absolutely priceless. And to give someone the gospel of Jesus, you've given out the gospel given the Word of God, man.
Reverend Ben Cooper:And that's what the church should have done, done it all this time. How much literature is on church shelving that really does not talk about God. It's about the ministers the leaders, give to the church give this do that when actually the Bible's got dust on it. They when you think about it, the Bible's got dust on a man's literature is flying.
Simon Pinchbeck:Also word in season, Ben, I think you know, wherever you are across the world, you know, shake the dust off your Bible, and
Reverend Ben Cooper:that's what we've done and then we went through lockdown I was led to clearly clearing all the shelves off of everything, you know, all the different ministries and when you start clearing the shelves off, you don't realize what took you actually have What rubbish 1000s of pounds worth of print in trees cut down all over the world to promote to promote a man.
Simon Pinchbeck:So you got rid of all your GQ magazine got rid of all that. Yeah, secret stash. You've got got
Reverend Ben Cooper:a Bible and the church just as Bibles. There's no other Mindwell the only ministry that we have on the shelf is a ministry that we support. And that's Mao's and that's a that's a really powerful ministry in Israel. That's, that's that's the only one that we have. But the gospel, the gospel of John, you know, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, powerful gospels, the word of God. But yeah, like Simon said, it is a move of God. Everything's just going together. But I think what we are seeing is that we knew interest in what some of the brought again, obviously, we've got to push our way through this, as God leads us, but the 10 commandments are needed in life. And well,
Simon Pinchbeck:here's the deal, but they're not resolutions are not new year's resolution. This is a commandment of God. Yeah. And it's God's moral law. Thou shalt
Reverend Ben Cooper:go to the gym. It's not it's not virtual labs on a Saturday night and smoke 20 bags a week.
Simon Pinchbeck:No, it's about get scratched God no, is none of that is it's an amazing point we made you know, if everyone in the old world was to live by the 10 commandments, what
Reverend Ben Cooper:a different place it obey. When what yeah, sorry, even if you look at the church, and the church, stripped everything else away, and just preached on the 10 commandments. What a difference that would be,
Simon Pinchbeck:well, it's a mirror for us it is looking in a mirror and going. And the thing is, the thing is, the Bible tells us that if we break one of those commandments, you broke the
Reverend Ben Cooper:law, the way I'm in trouble again.
Simon Pinchbeck:And we've made me and you and the majority, and I guess many people listening to this this morning, would have broken almost every one of these
Reverend Ben Cooper:to get our bed, before you get your eyes out went right sorry, loud, that's ironed. out this is this is because we're human beings are human. And God created humanity. And God gave us a guide, align the word to follow. But he knew that we wouldn't be able to do that. Then he gives us and he hands over the greatest gift to humanity. John 316, God gives us Christ. What who, what, however, we look at Christ, redemption, we are redeemed. And when you look at this text at Psalm is brought to us it is about being redeemed. Because when you look at every one of them, when you fall in that you get redeemed from that. So redemption is in the 10 commandments, is on the backdrop, it's the on the underside of the text, because when I found one of them, as Simon Says, they all drop off the peg. But what brings me back to Jesus through God unto God through is redemption, redemption. So the whole when you look at that, and you read that, as we know being redeemed to be it means to be brought back to be coming back to what we understand what redemption means. So all of these when I fall from one of these are fallen from all of them. But then I'm redeemed because of the cross because of Christ
Simon Pinchbeck:and through repentance and repentance is is turning away from the wrong stuff, which is outlined lined in the 10 commandments and it's embracing a new way of life and yeah, see, we everyone needs roast and stuff to keep us on track. You know, don't
Reverend Ben Cooper:talk about the cameras on the motorway. I've got 12 disciples and I my license that says that there's a classic example in it I got a little bit fast I've made a few mistakes so there's a penalty it's price there's a price to pay so I think I can't I have to change my driving attitude got to change your attitude I have to change that because if I do any more I mean more trouble
Simon Pinchbeck:because you've never really got that boy racer at your system you still drawing up Excel free Ford Escort
Reverend Ben Cooper:yeah with a wild towel on the back with bras playing the L sound system windows and Dan ran the one way system.
Simon Pinchbeck:The Flying Car locked actually painted on the side. But it is the truth but then you know and Jesus. As we said last week, when when the Sadducees tried to catch him out. And what's the greatest commandment he just hit them back to love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul all your might always struggle and and the second one is Love thy neighbor as yourself. And these four first four commandments are about loving the Lord your God with all your heart, and the second and the last six are about loving your neighbor. So today we're going to get into the third one. Then the third one says this it says You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. Oh the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain and
Reverend Ben Cooper:that that, that is a that is a punch on its own without going. We managed to get through to last week just by the skin of our teeth. But when you look at that you shall not misuse the NIV Amen says, misuse the name of the Lord your God, how much is this used? So think of TV programs blasphemous talk, it's and also it's used in a way of ministry where people are using Jesus's name as a instrument to build their own ministry but push him on the back burner well denomination Oh,
Simon Pinchbeck:that's very interesting. You said that because you know, I was driving here this morning and being a good guy and I was listening to a bit of Premiere price because some of the songs and the amount of songs that just repeated Jesus Jesus Jesus, well, it gets it gets kind of meaningless done it, if you if you're just banging on without any and it's watery. It's not Yeah, there's no power to it. And you're right, what you say there about, about people just
Reverend Ben Cooper:using just using
Simon Pinchbeck:cheese as
Reverend Ben Cooper:a, as a commodity. I use that I use that language because that's what it so when you look at verse seven, it says You shall not misuse, misuse that that opens up a door doesn't it to so much I can misuse it as in blasphemous, getting getting my own way of manipulating people using that name to get money to build ministry. So that how do I correctly use that name? What does it say in in that text?
Simon Pinchbeck:I think, first of all, we've got to recognize the power of that night. The power in the name of Jesus on the power of the name of God, we've got other and we've set we've spoke about this before we've got ever a real reverent fear of the name and the use of our powerful it is iffy because we've come away from that and as you quite rightly said, you see it especially stuff that comes out on Netflix, every film it just TV programs off the wall. So Jesus Christ Yeah, just as and, and OMG. Now oh my god as has become
Reverend Ben Cooper:a catchword and it for you wouldn't you wouldn't use, you simply wouldn't use a, a, another terminal you wouldn't use. There's loads of other words that you just wouldn't use. But Christ Jesus Christ is used in so many places around the world, for a blasphemous purpose. So when you understand what the name is, and we were in signs at a time, when a lot of the church has gone on about revival, we're not in revival, we're in a place of persecution. That's what the Bible says at the time. So to understand what someone is saying is, if I know what that name means, I will not misuse it, you won't miss because I'm in a true relationship. So even if I'm in ministry, I won't misuse it. And I won't manipulate and use use that to say this, this ministry is all about Jesus, when actually, all I want to do is draw some money from you, I'm gonna build my profile, I can build a church. So when someone says, This is my church, or this is my ministry, you're misusing the name of the law, because it's not about you, you are a servant, and you are a slave to righteousness.
Simon Pinchbeck:And it says that, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. Might you do you don't want to get on the wrong side of God? Do
Reverend Ben Cooper:you know? Because right now, it says, In the Old Testament, it says, God says to the Israelites, and the leaders, I will be an enemy, to your enemies. What in the world? It who wants God to be your enemy? When you really seriously look at that text? Now we have a mass percentage of church within the westernized world. Just shout it out there at the moment, God is love. I know his love. But God is coming back to judge the world and the bride of Christ is being prepared not the church as in the way we know it. Because the church misuses a certain percentage of the church, I should say, sorry, misuse is the name of the Lord die God, simply by not teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. I
Simon Pinchbeck:don't teach the gospel, but and, you know, there's lots of other points we're gonna come on to, but just on that point, Ben, you mentioned it, and we sat across the table of talking about the other day and many churches now I don't even have a cross in the church. And a few churches, I've been in a few churches lately. And, and I've looked, first thing I've done is look around west across
Reverend Ben Cooper:west across the school, the cross has to be in every room, because that's what it's about. Everything brings us to the cross. The Gospel of John takes us to the cross, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John Genesis is about the redemption, because it's the fall. So the cross is under the fabric of the text in Genesis redemption, you know,
Simon Pinchbeck:seriously, can you have a church about across? I don't I don't understand. Can
Reverend Ben Cooper:you have a ministry? Without Jesus being the center? How can you have? If you look at the Old Testament and New Testament, what is in? What does it all point to the old when the old started, as soon as it started, it was pointing straight away to the cross. And then from the cross, the new so everything springs from the cross,
Simon Pinchbeck:I think I think you're right. And you bring up a real interesting point. And it's something I hadn't really thought of before. But if you're standing there and going, this is my ministry, Mike, you're in big trouble. Because if it's, if, if you're making everything point towards you, and Jesus said in John 15, five, he said, I am the fine, you are grafted with Lavon, you can do nothing apart from me. But if you start going off, talking to yourself, and putting them in the signpost is all about you and how you've done this. And you sit there and go, I've done this, I've done that. Whenever someone uses I may or my more than, yeah, Jesus, we're in trouble anyway.
Reverend Ben Cooper:You're 100%, right, because when you look at Christ, so many biblical reference, he doesn't talk about himself. He says, I'm here to do the Father's will. So that clearly explains to me in verse seven of Exodus, he knows what the name of the Lord and what not how, and He Knows not how to misuse that name, because he is respectful, not my will, when I'm building my world and my ministry. It's, it's I, and it's the site is very interesting about the seven items in the Gospel of John, I am the bread of life, I am an all that stuff. But man uses that as well. I have built this church, this is my ministry, I am the CEO, if anyone is a CEO, I'd love to challenge CEOs and ministers, why you are CEO of the cross? Because the CEO, there ain't a CEO of the cross. If anyone puts himself as a director of a ministry. That's the worldly terminology. I honestly don't believe I honestly believe it on my heart. There should be no CEO, it should be. It should be worded biblically because a CEO, you will not find a CEO in the Bible. When you use CEO, you're using worldly terminal, and you are a businessman, you are not a preacher.
Simon Pinchbeck:That's and that's the sad part, isn't it? So you know, churches have become
Reverend Ben Cooper:business, corporate, corporate, elite environment. And
Simon Pinchbeck:here's the deal. I read a quote, by as beautiful. Well, I read another quote by Hudson Taylor, yesterday, and it said, the church has got far too many celebrities and not enough servants. And that's
Reverend Ben Cooper:bang on the bottom. So verse seven of what we're talking about is critical. If you know the name, and you don't misuse the name, you will be under submission, and you will be a servant because you won't elevate yourself. Because greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. And the Bible says at the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow.
Simon Pinchbeck:Wow, you just thrown out a scripture there. Philippians two, I think
Reverend Ben Cooper:it's done here isn't it is Latin, in your ministry, it's flattened your life, it brings you to surrender. Wow. So when you misuse the name of the Lord. And this is like, this is a critical thing for the westernized church. If the westernized church doesn't come back to the cross, it's going to help it's gonna help. It's now embedded level that's the that's the other side of the cross. I mean, the left the left or the right whenever you look at that cross when when that faith said Don't forget me don't think he said within a twinkling of an eye, you'll be with me and and the other one went to it. So there's two sides of the cross, it's heaven or hell. That's what we need. And if the church would just pray Look at that. Imagine if the sermons were are gonna calm down because I'm on it that day. Lord, help
Simon Pinchbeck:me it's only there's only Jesus and God our father who's really got any right to say I am. I am, you know, and he says in John 14 Six times away the LIFE and the TRUTH in the Yeah, yeah, no one no one except for me now, I've already was an egotistical maniac or a madman or you know, or he was telling the truth. Now he's telling the truth. Then that name as the is the Greatest Name above all names and asked to be respected, but it's not. It's, we live in a world listen to this. This will shock you, right there. Those last three days I've had my two grandkids is tough that was
Reverend Ben Cooper:like, God this this is endurance it's tough because you're like pole on the boat when he was like being on my ship wrecked completely. I despised of life itself. He said.
Simon Pinchbeck:So not only you know that they take up your time and your you know your time out, but they know you empty your wallet as well. So, so, granddad, Grandpa, you're both angles, you know, but they're very funny and very beautiful. And I got, you know, there's a lot of love there. But my youngest grandson who's very, very bright, very intelligent, little, a little I want to say his name, but he's, he's five years old, right? And he sat there. And he started, he said, he started using the word Jesus, you say, now now go to a church school. Yeah. But he was using it in the wrong context. Really? Because what they watch?
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah, yeah. I'll say, Oh, gotcha. Yeah, and
Simon Pinchbeck:YouTube or whatever.
Reverend Ben Cooper:It's ingrained in their language.
Simon Pinchbeck:So I'd sit down with him and I said, you know about Jesus. He said, Yeah, and he died on the cross. I said, Well, don't use his name. Use some other name. Don't use his name, because it's very precious that and so we had a discussion and body and he was okay. And, uh, my wife says, No, you say, oh, gosh, or something, you know, don't use that. But as young as five,
Reverend Ben Cooper:right, it's been indoctrinated earlier, and these are innocent, and they are innocent. They are innocent little babes. So whatever they're hearing, let's
Simon Pinchbeck:see, says what I'm just saying is, I'm just saying, I'm just saying his own glasses. Yeah. But if you're calling him Yeah, and you don't really need him, then, you know, you're you you're not use the correct
Reverend Ben Cooper:thing. You said a really interesting point, any, I'm just using isn't. So teaching is critical, correct sound doctrine.
Simon Pinchbeck:You're right. So if you're, if it's just a name, then yet, but this is a name,
Reverend Ben Cooper:this is a name above all names. So so that first seven is literally brought us to a point of explosion. First seven, you can't, you have to understand the name. If you know the name, you will not miss use the name because why? Because you love him. But more than that, you know the rough and the the misuse. Now the Bible says God is a jealous God and he will not be he will not be manipulated, he will not be shaped and he will not be mocked. So coming back to this little word coming from the Bible in a minute, guys. This word, the meaning of SEO, I've just flicked it up online. And this is what it means. So someone that whoever is out there that is a minister that puts this over your door. Tell me where you find this in your in the Bible, a chief executive officer, the highest ranking person in a company or an institution. Responsibility, their responsibility is for managerial decisions. So all you are is a manager of a business. You're not a servant. So we are in trouble. If you if you follow a ministry, if you follow a ministry, where on that website on their card says CEO, they are building their kingdom. Job done if you follow someone and they are nameless and faceless, and they lift up the name of Jesus their servants what I know are brought in the word CEO to what we're doing but it's very relevant because a sit that word CEO is lifting up the skin higher than the king isn't it?
Simon Pinchbeck:So if what happens if you call yourself a president you're in trouble
Reverend Ben Cooper:you all these toys, you're in trouble you really are because of this if you really Oh, well Oh, no, no, no, hold on a minute. Titles are dangerous. So I also dangerous because the title bigs me up cannot be the vice president. You certainly can have what nothing? There you go. Because the book of Ecclesiastes is clear. Everything is meaningless. Everything's meaningless except the greatest name now God said I have given him the name Immanuel. What does that mean? God with us?
Simon Pinchbeck:Just on that point, right? A couple of years ago you know they made me the the UK lead in this ministry ministry that came over from Texas and we was and we were cracking on with it. Yeah, but when when obviously COVID Come I looked at random thought I the UK leader know nothing here.
Reverend Ben Cooper:So you're at home lockdown. So in the loads, oh, give it
Simon Pinchbeck:down said You know, I'm sorry. You know, and they they've got someone Let's now but you can't hang on to stuff Kenya, you know, now you've got to you caught right bend you know, we ain't, we're nothing we're nothing
Reverend Ben Cooper:without him with the Bible says you are a son and a daughter,
Simon Pinchbeck:and is a deal with a name Jesus used in the correct way, is the most powerful name above all names in Jesus name. But average man many times to do even, you know fellow Christians go, oh, say that in Jesus name. It's without actually understanding the power in that name, but they have power
Reverend Ben Cooper:in the name. So if a ministry is promote, and I can't use the can't stand what I'm saying is promoting or, or or giving Jesus to the world, that ministry will flourish because you are giving Jesus and it's not really a ministry. Because when you look in the Gospels and what it says about ministry, it says that they sold everything they had, and they gave to the poor they sell. They didn't own anything. So I know
Simon Pinchbeck:I'm a big believer, Ben, right now. I don't think the Lord wants these big ministries. These big ministries are collapsing. Yeah, he doesn't want to shrink in. He just wants a couple of guys with a heart for him
Reverend Ben Cooper:just to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Just to tell your neighbor Jesus loves you
Simon Pinchbeck:is the deal, right? And now we we said last week, and you know, you can't serve two masters. So we were talking about, you know, putting things before cooperative, if you're earning a living is act from a position, then the first thing you're going to worry about each month is where's that money gonna cause me wages. So you ain't gonna worry about a lot or you're not going to put him first you're going to put
Reverend Ben Cooper:the fundraising first, fundraising first. So Simon has made in writing for Simon has made a very interesting point and the way that we bring this to the Bible because this is always in the Bible, is the Bible says there are hired hands and there are shepherds are hired hand we have behind pulpits because they are hired and they are paid a shepherd. A shepherd is something completely different. So when you understand what it says in verse seven, you shall not misuse the name the Lord thy God, the ministry the calling, so we have to bring it to a colon. What are you called to? I'm called to follow Jesus. That's all I'm called to do.
Simon Pinchbeck:You've made a great point because? Because me,
Reverend Ben Cooper:yeah,
Simon Pinchbeck:yeah, me. You made a great point. Because when, if you're using Jesus to bring in a few quid using the name of Jesus to bring in a few quid every month before you've got out of bed, you need a certain amount to live.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah, come to my church, you're in trouble because people relate the word church to Christianity, religion, but you're missing it. So you're right. You are a salesman, or you are a CEO, or you are a director, even you're not a servant.
Simon Pinchbeck:Even Paul, the apostle Paul, you know, the greatest evangelist, yeah, and the grace, He is a tentmaker want to attend. Jesus was a builder, a carpenter, go out and get a job. But when you look at the way
Reverend Ben Cooper:Christ spoke, he did not lift himself. Where did you ever say see him given himself a bit of literature out? If fellas is me, cardio is me Minute, I'm building my ministry. You go look, click on this QR code. And you'll you'll find me to know I mean, all he said was, I'm here to do the Father's will. And he said, a very impacting part of that message. I'm not here to do my will. So what in the world Jesus was your will? He says that three or four times in the gospels, I'm here to do is
Simon Pinchbeck:when I think it's very clear, but I think it's very clear for each another as repercussions for each and every single one of us listen to this podcast today because we can't fulfill any of these commandments without the Holy Spirit. We can't do
Reverend Ben Cooper:it can't do it. We,
Simon Pinchbeck:with the fleshly people in me, yeah. And we can't, you know, we can't. We can't turn it away from that pretty girl over there without the Holy Spirit because the flesh,
Reverend Ben Cooper:you can't leave to scratch Kaaba that can't leave the alcohol you can't leave. You can't leave the gambling You can't leave the addictive social media stuff you can't we the flesh is addicted because the Bible says each man is drawn away by his own lust. So there is something within a human being that will try to draw you away from Jesus Christ, but it can't draw you in because you are grafted in but your flesh is always tight. And the Bible says in Matthew, the spirit is willing in the flesh is weak. That's very clear. But when I know the name, I start to find my life gets easier. You start Yes. Because Because not misusing it is
Simon Pinchbeck:not misused. No, because Judas said, Come to me or those who are troubled, and nebulae and I will give you rest. Now I'm no aminated times have you or I've been been out somewhere. And we've just gone Jesus, I need you. I need You, Lord, help me. That is that is the powerful way to use that. We laugh
Reverend Ben Cooper:at this. And now we laugh at this when I say this, but I literally wake up in the morning, and I honestly save all my heart. Got, please help me, I actually don't know how I'm gonna get through the day without you. And that is, it is my heart cry every morning. I lay there. As soon as my eyes are opened before, I'm literally alert. I'm loadout. Please, I'm just I need your God. And my heart is crying before I'm literally because we know what we have to fight through the day. And if I don't have God, and the Holy Spirit helping me, I'm in serious trouble.
Simon Pinchbeck:Serious trouble, Ben, because all of a sudden, I'm telling anybody that listen, we're all there. We're all there. But I am. Jesus, we need Jesus to get us through the night. Because if we left around devices,
Reverend Ben Cooper:might be a CEO. Because when you look at that, I keep talking about this is around lunchtime. I am and I've been eating the lunch on me. But verse seven, we haven't even moved on yet. We're never gonna move from there. You shall not miss us. So I need to understand as a believer, what does it mean? Who is God? Where is God? Why why is it so important not to misuse his name? What is the purpose of the seven I ns? Why did Jesus say I'm not here to do my will, when actually you're the image of the invisible. So that line alone is so deep and so entrenched in solid foundation in Jesus.
Simon Pinchbeck:And the only way you get to understand that is to get into a closer relationship. And it doesn't happen in your head. It can't, it happens in your heart
Reverend Ben Cooper:now. So if someone was to look at that line and go, You shall not misuse the name of the Lord, die, god, okay, but you're talking about God, but actually, that's Jesus as well. Because the Gospel of John for any amazing comeback to the Gospel of John first one of chapter one in the beginning, in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Bible says in John, chapter 14, verse one, The Word became flesh. Colossians says, Christ is the image of the invisible God. So in that line, Jesus is in that line is in
Simon Pinchbeck:that line totally is in that lines, it is, you know, is his God without misuse. So don't misuse Jesus, Jesus, don't misuse God the Father, and don't blaspheme the Holy Spirit,
Reverend Ben Cooper:but your little grandson was as brought an interesting thing to the table. He because he said, is what I'm told, basically. So who teaches him, the church, hang on a minute, if they now I'm being really skating on thin ice, if the church usual, it's very unusual. Now, if we look across the broad spectrum of church, is the church teaching and preaching Jesus Christ?
Simon Pinchbeck:Well, I said to him, so is locked. Take him for an exam. I said to him. I said, you can talk to Jesus. And that's called pray. And he said, Yes, Crimea. We do pray, we put our hands together and we pray at the end of the day, we see someone and prayers go on quite a long time.
Reverend Ben Cooper:God is speaking through that grant your grandson very clearly. So what does that mean? So automatically, we go the Lord's prayer, Jesus said, don't be like the Pharisees and the Sadducees standing on the street corners for the sound of that, then he drops in the middle of that the Lord's Prayer, then he says at the end of that, and don't be like the pagans that love the sound of their own voice.
Simon Pinchbeck:It's a simple thing in a simple
Reverend Ben Cooper:prayer. So help me Jesus help me Jesus. So your grandson is bang on the button. They're a bit longer than that. I'm only I'm only saying what I've been told. Now. What is the church that I'm gonna go what is a lot of denominations doing? Now only doing what the leaders have taught them to do?
Simon Pinchbeck:So the teachers taught him because he said, we pray, we put our hands together and we and that's great, but you don't need to do that. Do you need to put your hands together? I said, Look, Jesus is your friend. Anytime you're in trouble, you just call out to him and that's, that's when you use that name properly. If more of that is taught, then yeah, we've got we've got Jesus moving out. We've got Jesus moving his momentum with that. Otherwise, we are going to run down this line of, oh, yeah, on that TV program, they just caught out Jesus, and they just used it as an X combination or a curse word. So if we can, if we can teach our young kids and the and, and this falls on parents, to parents and grandparents and anyone with, with, who has a deep relationship with, with young people, you call it just explain to them exactly what the name of Jesus is, and now is taught because otherwise, we're just rolling down that down hill, and this thing is just gonna, it's just,
Reverend Ben Cooper:and that's where we sit in different denominations. So when you look at denominations, that denomination, a big percentage of denominations have slid, they've slid away from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But when someone was talking about teaching children, the Bible says, Teach your child in the way that you should go. So where does the teaching start the teaching starts indoors. If the adults or the Christians are not getting the correct doctrine, it's not going to come through the food line, the chain of, of of all have conversation. But if if the church is preaching the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, if the church is preaching and teaching about marriage, and Adam and Eve and not Adam and Steve, if the church is really preaching the gospel, and the foundational points of creation, if I know what creation really is, and how powerful it is, an eschatology, if I've got the two ends of the Bible, the beginning and the end, then suddenly, I work my way in and where do I work to?
Simon Pinchbeck:Across? Yeah, yeah, no, it's all its
Reverend Ben Cooper:resists, is center, Christ the center. And with that, we find God because Jesus says, Simon said it, the Bible says it, I am the way to I am because he uses the I Am. So using the terminology when when God Himself Jesus was in when Moses was in his presence when he says, I Am that I Am. So when Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth, he's directing humanity to him, but to God, but through him because we got to be sifted and washed in the blood before we go to the Father. It's not complicated, but it's not complicated.
Simon Pinchbeck:And honestly think there's there's doctrine out there that says, it has to be complicated. It wants you to be complicated. But Jesus never made it complicated. Jesus never made it complicated. I had a thing with Billy Graham the other day, and he said, he was preaching at Cambridge University in the UK. And they came to me afterwards and said, You're preaching is too complicated? And he said, but it's very simple. He said, Yeah, the students can't get their head around it that is that simple.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Isn't that amazing? Just crazy in it is too complicated. But it's so simple. We can't get Yeah, because that's where education and the Bible deals with education, education and knowledge puffs up. But the word gives revelation. So when the word cannot be received by education, the word is only received by revelation. So intelligence, intelligent people struggle, because the intelligence and the human mind is trying to always outwit creation. Because it can't seem to grasp that God just said, Let there be light. And there was,
Simon Pinchbeck:this is interesting, Ben, and you've, you brought me to this scripture that just reminding me and this just because we're going slightly off track, but it's not off track. It's, it's where we're going because it's the knowledge and it's from Jeremiah 923, and 24. And he says this, he says, this, says the Lord, let not the wise man boast of his wisdom. let not the mighty man boast in his mind that not the rich man boast of his riches, but let him move bows boast in this way that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who exercises loving kindness, justice and righteousness on Earth for our delight in these things because the Lord, don't boast in yourself. Don't use the name of yourself, don't see yourself boast in Jesus.
Reverend Ben Cooper:So what am I I'm a servant of the key servant. Imagine seeing that on ministries. When it says who we are and what we do. I am a servant of Jesus. Someone tell me or text me where that says on a ministerial page. I am a servant of Jesus. You can't get a bigger colon. You can't get a bigger, bigger up, big up, then actually say, I am a servant of the king. But we use worldly terminologies and we misuse the name of the Lord die God, building our own kingdom.
Simon Pinchbeck:Totally, we totally.
Reverend Ben Cooper:So how do I, as a believer, not build me up, but build Jesus up and not misuse the name of the Lord?
Simon Pinchbeck:Well, quite simply, you put him first. And so first you get to know him. You spend time getting to know him, then spent and don't. And don't go out of your way to build your own kingdom up you any kingdom as to be built. And that's to be we listen. Bofors they are not perfect. We've all run down different routes where we thought this would be gone indefinitely. And we ended up spending a couple of Bogdan we on, on on things that we've
Reverend Ben Cooper:misuse when
Simon Pinchbeck:when you put judges for Christ, and let him open the doors for you. He look what happened to these little gospels. In two weeks, we got 1000 of them sitting in your, in the boardroom now.
Reverend Ben Cooper:It's just beyond. So the misuse of the name null or die god, I've got to understand what the name is. Why he's been killed? This, there's so much in this, there's so much in the misuse of there's so much in that, isn't it? It's like, it's so
Simon Pinchbeck:much in your thinking. But if, if, in your answer, again to the question you add we get around that is to understand the power of the nine. So if we understood the power name of Jesus, we will understand the power of the nine. Use it you won't miss you. If you aren't blaspheme. Yeah. You won't take it. Because you're in a conviction. Yeah, you're right, you because you understand that that name is so powerful, and it can help you help us out and it can be with us. And we never want to compare away from it. We want to be with Jesus, we want to be following Jesus, we want to keep our hands to the plow, and follow Him and not look back. So important is so important if we if we don't, very quickly, yeah, I mean, look, you've only got to be half a degree out
Reverend Ben Cooper:just just a tiny speck at the very beginning, and your
Simon Pinchbeck:massage, and you've missed it. And that's a subtleness of the enemy. So the enemy will come in. And how many times Ben? And you you can tell us how many times have we got people, men and women started off in churches, with the greatest intentions, they were loving the Lord. And so all of a sudden, that little thing, self gets in there, it's gone
Reverend Ben Cooper:from a servant, to now I'm a CEO of an organization that is not relevant to the kingdom of God, because I'm, I'm Kingdom building for myself,
Simon Pinchbeck:we're not going to mention any names here, because the Lord, the Lord's men and women, and whatever. But, you know, there was one, one person who led an amazing church, and we saw amazing things happen in the UK. But now he built himself up as an actor, and also our, and also a viewer, Guru and a motivational speaker. And it's all about me, rather than Jesus.
Reverend Ben Cooper:So, for quickness, if I want to follow a ministry, you will find the people that are the servants of the ministry will will not put themselves as CEOs, they will they will be almost disappearing. Because if soon as you crack open that that ministerial page, it has to be about Jesus. It has to be about the Gospels of salvation. If it's not about that. It's about the organization. Very
Simon Pinchbeck:interesting. Things were there at the door. And we Yeah, but things that, you know, organizations, and they have to have leaders, right, and the after leaders and the leaders after my godly decisions, but the lead then then then the fine line comes when you step over to Mark and it comes about you not about G has
Reverend Ben Cooper:to be about Jesus. Yeah. So, so I'm learning a lot. I've made some serious mistakes, and I'm so sorry, God, where I found you, when I've tried to build me, and I've not delivered the gospel. I've not I've preached wrong messages. I've delivered something because I've heard another ministry and I've tried to copycat something else. Are you going to take that statue down? I'm actually not going to paint. I've got someone coming put a goal putting a gold leaf over top of it. I must assault me your facial expressions. Need a bit more chiseling? I've lost is a bit of weight.
Simon Pinchbeck:But no we joke i mean i But but here's the trick. If you've got something where it's all about, I've seen you you can see
Reverend Ben Cooper:all of us do it about me it because it's built in the skin. It's built in the skin. If you've only got a look, you've only got to look at Raya people to go what we don't look at Riot for if you look at Rahab, that the prostitute with the spires, she lied blatantly what fought to save her own skin, she all she was interested in was her family getting out of a situation. And it's funny what a human being will say, when your back is against the wall or your you know,
Simon Pinchbeck:and I love this, we stayed in this moment, the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. And, you know, pride is a massive thing. It's it's the enemy is it brought down the enemy and it brings down many, many people. pride and ego is putting ourselves before unused in stepping on really stepping on the name of Jesus stepping on the Trinity
Reverend Ben Cooper:to to Yeah, that's what it's about catapult yourself to accelerate me to the Godhead. It this is that that is a serious line and I filled it. Well, we haven't we haven't, you know, we haven't even dived into every lever now not the envelope with it. You know, because in that line, you've got salvation. You've got you've got doctrine, you've got forgiveness, you've got you've got everything just in verse seven. You've got so much the more you look at the more you can't you realize that you ain't you ever opened a can of the lid of it? Yeah, it's just so much of it.
Simon Pinchbeck:But all this stuff, these these free, amen. If we've only done the three commandments, and we love the Lord your God, graven image down to the Lord your God, all these all the first those free and the next one, which remember the Sabbath, and we can we'll go into that next week, but, but they're all about getting to know God all about Get to know Jesus and loving him.
Reverend Ben Cooper:And they're all about taking your eyes off yourself. Take your eyes off yourself. And yeah, well, but you're just lift up Jesus, just lift up Jesus to
Simon Pinchbeck:be Jesus, we lift Jesus app to the Father,
Reverend Ben Cooper:Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and everyone else will be added will be added. So whatever your calling is, you don't need to build your calling, because you've been called to deliver
Simon Pinchbeck:what you got to deliver and don't put the pan out or $1 the
Reverend Ben Cooper:website, the Twitter feed for before. Yes, lift up Jesus, just just give the world Jesus.
Simon Pinchbeck:If you're looking for people to give you money, go and get a job. Yeah, get a job. Dr. Tescos. Yeah, delivery driver supermarket delivery things, stack shelves and give the cost and give the gospel out and see where C Corp
Reverend Ben Cooper:will be. So the challenge, isn't it to the world. Give Jesus rather than self and watch him, My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory,
Simon Pinchbeck:are you suddenly up? You don't need to add any more to an app. And to be honest with you, you've summed it up. And we just say thank you for listening to all the people across the across the world who listen to this and don't forget these little gospels. They're just great things just give the gospel. You know, just give we can we can supply you with someone easy for you. If you want some number, get Simon at CES talk.uk And we'll get in contact with us and we'll get some out to you. That's not a problem. We're done. Yeah, we're done. Have a great week. You know, lift up, my name is Jesus and I will see you again next time.
Reverend Ben Cooper:God bless. Perfect. Thank you God
