Good morning. Thank you so much for joining us at # Christian straight talk as you join myself and we've got ourselves a young young fit man in the house. Sorry, sorry, Lord, stop lying. We've done the 10 commandments. Simon Good morning you're joining us #Christian Straight Talk whether you're on the world a podcast, whether you're watching this live streaming this broadcast this morning, you know, straight out the barrel of truth. There is a lot of stuff going on within the UK, especially within the church. Can we can we, Lord, can we talk about the church today? There's so much going on. But as you join us on this broadcast, we're just going to ask the question, the simple question, and the title of today is do you know Jesus? Do you know Jesus Simon, good morning we are in it is # Christian straight talk here, streaming through the platforms of Elam and some other areas that we're broadcasting from this morning. And we just want to say thank you to all those 1000s of people that download everything in the world of podcasts in Buzzsprout, Spotify, I heart, radio, Amazon music, and so many other platforms that we are pushing this stuff out from but Good morning, everyone. Yeah, good morning, Ben. Good morning, everyone out there. And yeah, it is Thursday morning in the UK, and is # Christian straight talk and we're straight talk and today as you said Ben on, on Do you know Jesus? Bennis, a real timely thing this, you know, coming on the back? What we find that the church Church of England is discussing, because do you know Jesus? Or do you just know about him? Because it's vital that we know Jesus to for, for our salvation, we need to know him? Don't we've been general. And I, I know because I see it all the time as I go around the country speaking that the church needs evangelizing to which the church needs these people in the church that maybe have been baptized that they go to church every Sunday, but they don't know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Ben, is quite a quite a hard time to be a Christian, I got to be honest, I'm not struggling as a to believe I'm struggling with the understanding of what is happening to the church in the UK, what is going on? We understand the Bible says very clearly, that there will be delusions and lies and but we're looking at the religious order here. And as you said, the title of today and last week was, who is Jesus with last week we will in who is Jesus? And today? It is, do you know Jesus, they both run beautifully together. But I can't get away from that text that we've been talking and looking at for a long, while at the moment is John three, three, you know, the Nicodemus text. When it comes back to that, then it
Simon Pinchbeck:comes back to the deaf? Definitely. I mean, that's John John, free free, you know, you need to be Jesus said, You must be born, you must be born again. You must be born again. Because if you're not, and you're not embraced Him as your Lord and Savior, you're in danger. You're in danger. Yeah. And I was going to start at Matthew 721. Ben, but if you go back a few scriptures before that, and start at Matthew 713, then it really sets the scene for that Matthew 722. Because Jesus is saying, he says this, he says, Enter by the narrow gate for the wide gate and abroad all the way that leads to destruction. And there are many who go in it, Because narrow is the gate. And difficult is the way which leads to life. And there are few who find it now. I think right at this moment in time, or you feel Ben but I think that the church in general is going down the wide road, it's the path. Yeah, the wide path because it's accepting what the world is saying. It's accepting the world. It's a friendly church. It's not only in the world, it's ultra world.
Reverend Ben Cooper:It is and so as you look at the church, and then you look at religion and the statements that are coming out from church and religion, I think we can bring this scripture in at this point, Matthew 15, eight and nine it says these people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me in I mean, they do worship me, teaching teachings as doctrines and commandments of men. So everything is coming off, man, isn't it?
Simon Pinchbeck:Everything's coming out of man. They're ignoring the Word of God complete riches
Reverend Ben Cooper:and the need to be, how can you, you know, if you ignore one polar bubble you ignored a lot in it. But that's right, if you want to take the heat and him out, and the farther out there is no Bible, there is no living Word of God. And we are living in very strong and very powerful times in the UK. And if you are a Bible believing believer, I honestly believe that the years that lie ahead of us in in Christianity in the UK, are going to be times of endurance when we've seen the government not doing anything, as in any area of any thing to do with Christian faith, any other religion, they're pushing it, they're living it, they're lighting candles at the front door number 10 Downing Street, they're doing all types of things for other faiths, but Christianity, they are doing the complete opposite. So we are seriously at the end times. And we need sound doctrine from the church. But after we break the church down like the title today's Do you know Jesus? Who is this Jesus is the church preaching Jesus is the church teaching JESUS IS THE CHURCH bringing it is even in education, look at what our children are being taught at schools, all these strange, peculiar things, but Christianity is starting to be really pushed out, and it has done for years. And the question is, is do you know, Jesus?
Simon Pinchbeck:What the true faith has been pushed out recently another face? So the next question to that is been, you know, which Jesus Do you know, because you can, you can embrace a cheap grace, a cheap gospel current you and you can embrace it, a cheap cheapness of Jesus a watered down Jesus, because it fits into your lifestyle, or it fits into the lifestyle of the world. And I honestly believe that a lot of these leaders in churches and now I've experienced a few and now just go into this is especially in the Church of England, they go into it as a job rather than a vocation. And yeah, and they've, many of them don't even have a haven't got a relationship with Jesus Christ. They need to be saved themselves. Ben. Yeah, that's that's the thing. There's no understanding,
Reverend Ben Cooper:it comes down. Do you know Jesus? Do you know do you know? I mean, your heart do you follow Him? Jesus says, Come on, follow me. And in the Gospel of John Chapter Four, it talks about Christ seeks out his worshipers in his worshipers will be in spirit and in truth, and God seeks them out. So it's about worshipping Christ and surrender. I don't think religion can ever surrender itself because it's, it's about self, it's concrete, it's stone. So religion can never have a relationship with Christ Jesus to have a relationship with Christ. It is about salvation about redemption and repentance. Is the religious order in this nation, talking about sin. It's not is it? It's not talking about Christ. It's not talking. No, it's not talking. Because that is the way to Christ in it. You know, it's the way the Christ is direct to me. You're a sinner. Yeah, we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory to turn away from sin and embrace Jesus as your Lord and Savior. You know, you're right man. When you say surrender, it's a we have to surrender our lives to Jesus. That's what having a relationship with a means. Because then, as we examine this, and we strike talked on, on a new birth, and a new heart, you haven't got any young got the old heart, you've got a new new payment, a new a new birth, and all the old stuff is gone away. You've surrendered it all to him. And you are now a citizen of the kingdom of heaven and not of this world. We are in the world but not of the world. And don't keep going back to the world and thinking, how can I how can we attract more people? How can we make the Bible more acceptable? No, the Bible stands on its own the Bible can the scripture says that you can't add and you can't take away it is very, very clear that I've got a I've got a surrender as a born again believer I've got to come under the Scripture and trust God in his living word. And but it's about understanding who he is as well. But there is I am limited to the understanding because he is supernatural. He is the God of far above all things but through revelation or knowledge, he draws us closer to the scripture to him. But the question goes across the church and do you know Jesus? Do you know Jesus? That should be the message this Sunday morning across every denomination?
Simon Pinchbeck:Do you know Do you truly know Jesus as your Lord and Savior?
Reverend Ben Cooper:And what do you mean by that? Do you know that he's your Lord and your God? Do you know that he's your Redeemer? Because my friends if you're listening that this is deadly serious? Yeah, this is life or death is heaven or hell, it's completely. It goes on a sign. In Matthew 715, he says, Beware the false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruit. You will know them by their fruit and that's, that's powerful. What is their fruit? What are they? What are the works that they're doing? Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit. And every battery bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit. Nor can a battery bear good fruit, every tree that does not bear fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore, by their fruits, you will know them. So Jesus is saying, look, look, don't listen to what I say, Look at what I do it, look, look at the evidence, look at the evidence, look at what's what's going along with what they are saying, you know, and time and time and time again, as you look at religion and you look at the church, we have got a church that is more into social justice more into wokeness more into being persuasive to drawing people in rather than just preaching the gospel straight down the line with no, no left or no right. Persuasion, but just straight down preaching the fundamental truth of Christianity. Because this world wants the truth. This world wants to know who Jesus is they don't want to a soft message they don't want to, well, we're not even given a soft message. It's a it's a message that is not from Jesus Christ, not from the Scripture. And what we need in this nation is brothers and sisters, to rise in the name of Jesus and to deliver the Word of God and to stand on the Word of God but the it comes back to self and it Do you know Jesus? Do you know him? And and how do you know him? Why do you know him? What is it? What is it? Are you Are you do you want him because you love him? Or do you want him for building your own church? Do you want him because you're building a ministry that what what do you want a relationship with Jesus for I want a relationship with Jesus. So I don't go to hell. I want to make sure my name is stamped in the Lamb's book of life. That's why I want Jesus on where's your life pointing to is wondering to yourself, where's your signpost pointing to yourself? Or is it to Jesus back to the point back to Jesus and this next? This next scripture? I had I Jovis witness straight between the eyes with this effort. Yeah, because I go on and on and on down I you know, and I said, Look, Matthew 721, Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he does the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to me that day, Lord, Lord, we were not prophesized in your name. cast out demons in your name and done many wonders in your name. And then I'll declare to them, I never knew you depart from me. You PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS. There you go, you got it. You've got it. You've sat it's all been summed up in and Jesus sums everything up. So, so quick and easy through the Scripture. It's not about actions it's not about so no one can boast. It's not about building your kingdom, you come back to the fundamental fact that you must be born again and you must surrender. It's not about self. It's about understanding that. Who is this Jesus? Do you know Jesus, and when I know him, when I know him, something will surely happen to me is that I will surrender myself to him. And that is the most important thing anyone can ever understand in their walk with Christ is surrender your life to Jesus. Let's not chase our world. Let's not chase Chase what the world is doing, but I've got to find Jesus. There's another one, isn't it finding Jesus in the chaos, but actually, he's already found us is there he's there. He's right amongst us today. And listen to what Ben was saying there if you you know, listen to this out there that it's fake. Its commitment is total surrender to Christ and says in in John 15, five, Danny, Jesus says, he says, I am the vine. You're grafted into the vine, you can do this guy apart from me. That is a lot of guys who who think they can do this by themselves. Yeah, but you can't do nothing. You can't you can't do life without Christ. And I think we're seeing a lot of people go through stress and worry and fear and all the doubts and all the worries, because there's been many people in churches for so so long, and the church hasn't delivered what it should have delivered the most. Message and the gospel of Jesus Christ. If the church would have delivered the message of Jesus Christ, we would not be in this turmoil, the church wouldn't be controlled by the government controlled by the pride. The pride that's out there at the moment the church has the biggest issue that has ever faced its ever life is the gender issue, and the church is leaning into the wrong side of that the church is agreeing with it, the church is being molded by pride and by the government. And we are not seeing I'm afraid to say we are not seeing ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ rising from denominations that from the heads of these denominations and saying, we stand on the living Word of God, God created the heavens and the earth. God said, Let there be light. And there was we are not saying ministers preaching and teaching the fundamental points of Christianity, if we had the fundamental points of Christianity, we would have no issues within the world of the church. But if you are in the church this morning, and you are caught in this drum of the church, I'm I'm quite embarrassed to be honest to say that I belong to the church because people go, you belong to that. You what is going on? What is going on in that world that you belong to, and then I have to say, actually, I belong to the kingdom. You belong to the kingdom belong to the church now but um, but they they put that Tyra brush up our back as soon as they know that the church they look at the church, as this global movement, they just see it as one with a few offshoots. And if you are in a church, and you are a believer, it is so important that we know who Jesus Christ is not knowing what the church is doing, not knowing what the church is going on about, but is Do you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. The thing is, then, do you know Jesus Christ isn't and there's no easy grace, there's no cheap God, there's no, there's no none of this stuff. Because Jesus said himself, he said that he said it. Benny Mark 834 to 37. He said, When he had called a people to Himself and His disciples also he said to them, as he said, whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross. Me, yeah. For whoever designed to save his life will lose it, but whoever desires, desires, whoever loses his life for my sake, and the gospel say will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world but lose his own soul? So these people that are preaching and never differentiate? Series, they danger? Yeah, it's we are at a critical stage in the UK, within the church, the world is doing what the world is doing. And the church is doing what the Church wants to do, and religion, because he goes on to say, but Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Or whoever is ashamed of me and my words, in this adulterous and sinful generation of him, the Son of Man will also be ashamed when he comes into the glory of his Father, with the holy angel. So he's saying, if you're just taking bits here, bits there and using this and calling me You know, Jesus is love and meek, Amman and all that sort of thing where he is love, of course, he's loved. But what he's saying is, it ain't easy to follow Jesus. It's easy. It's it's, it's endurance. Look what Paul says, he says, I recommend man admire, why do I do the things I hate and I cannot do the things that I know that I should do. So following Christ, man or a woman, whoever you are, as a Bible believing spirit filled born again, believer, you will have challenges with your children at school, you'll have challenge challenges in your business area, you'll have challenges at work in every area of your life. If you are a born again, Spirit filled believer, you will have challenges on your shoulders that you never thought you'd have. And this is the time when we need to rise and to stand up and go, I am a believer. I believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ is a really interesting text in the Old Testament. I don't know if we've mentioned it. But if you go to Exodus chapter 10, and you you read about Moses, Moses calls in darkness, Moses caught is that is the code the plague of darkness. And Moses calls in Jesus God calls out to Moses and he says, right, stretch out your hands, stretch your hands up to the sky, call in darkness and Moses calls in the darkness to Egypt. And it says, The Darkness was so dark that they couldn't see each other and darkness that can be felt, but the Israelites had a light in their home. We know that Jesus Christ as the light of the world, but I honestly believe that we are in that sort of position at this moment that there is a darkness that can be felt, but there is a light that is stronger than the darkness. Well, Jesus says in John in the, you know, on the lighter Well, yeah, I am. So Jesus says is the height but what he's saying is you quite rightly said is stand on my word stand on my word. Believe in me know me stand on my word defend My Word didn't say it didn't say and if things got a bit tough Yeah, you could swap it around a little bit Stay, stay in the words stay in the word Simon, is it is that the hardest and the endurance of a Christian to endure the living Word of God and, and we're seeing a part of persecution as well. The churches are not really referring to persecution in the UK, but but there is a persecution within the order of religion. And it's coming through government as well, because Christians that they're not for Christ, it's clear to see that this nation is not for Jesus Christ, you can see that they are coming. Look at yesterday, the leader of Ukraine suddenly pops up out of nowhere. What a surprise. Oh, that's interesting. We've only got 250 delegates sitting in this hole by some slim chance, as funny you just come around the corner, we are seeing one world governments one world order, one monetary system. And this is the time when we are living in n times. We are at n times and the Mickey Mouse church in this nation is just sitting around Synod and around boardroom tables, trying to change the word of God, when it should literally be standing up behind it pole behind their pulpits and preaching the word of God. But we are seeing a blasphemous church rise within the church. We are at a serious state we are we are in a real, real bad position spiritually in the UK.
Simon Pinchbeck:So what we're saying what we're saying to people who listen to this out there that you know, there's sometimes I don't know where you're at, if you are a believer, or if you are in a church then but it's your own salvation. Yeah, that you that you need to make sure that you do you know Jesus on a level that
Reverend Ben Cooper:that is a a spirit, because the Bible says that you will know me in spirit and in truth. It's not a physical, religious relationship. We've we've got to literally come to the cross of Calvary, we got to come to that cross and assignment says the scriptures pick up your cross daily. And we got to lay everything at the cross and say, Father, forgive me, for I have sinned and fallen short your glory. Where is this church across this nation? Putting that across the airways, we have sinned, Lord, we've come away from the doctrines of Christ, we have come away from the Word of God, Father, forgive us, the church, and I will say the church, a mass percentage of the church has blood on its hands, because it is taking people to the gates of hell, the fiery lake, there's no other way. No one can convince me that this, this church within the UK, is completely pressing the gospel for Jesus Christ. So when you brought this to the table today, do you know Jesus? This is for the individual. It's very individual. It's for the individual and for the power of God to move in our lives. Do you know Jesus? How do I get to know him? Actually, he calls us, he draws us. He speaks to us. Do you know me? You get to know him. Through as you karate said, Ben, admitting you're a sinner, confessing your sins, turning away from your sins and accepting Jesus Christ, into your heart as your Lord and Savior, then you get to know him more by getting reading these words, and memorizing the scriptures. Get them under your belt, you will know what they mean your spirit, the Bible says, written on your heart that I said, yeah, the Bible says put them on the tablet of your heart, and out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water. That's the difference, isn't it? rivers of living water, so what you feed yourself, you become if you feed yourself, Christ, and what I mean by that is by the word of God, and you read the Word of God and you pray in and through the word of God, you start to find there is change in your innermost being Yeah, because
Simon Pinchbeck:what you said there is very true because if you're if all of a sudden your test what you're watching on a test what you're hearing test what test what you're seeing, yeah, and if it becomes if it's a stumbling block to your faith, then you've really got to question whether or not you should be watching or hearing this stuff.
Reverend Ben Cooper:That's good. Yeah.
Simon Pinchbeck:Is it does it bless? Does it bless you does it blessing you what you want, you're watching this stuff, and I did this the other week in actual fact, there was a I love westerns and I love you know, through a live westerns, and I was watching something called Yellow Stone, which is on on one of the platforms. And there's a bit of swearing and violence in there, Ben and when I told it to another brother because it's all to do around Dallas Fort Worth, and, you know, I've been associated that place for a number of years. The other fella said, he said, I started watching that he said, but I couldn't. I couldn't continue because there was too much swearing in it, you know. And it may it's sort of configure it brought a convertible
Reverend Ben Cooper:conviction. And that's what happens on the journey of following Christ. Certain things that we might might have been watching, you know, Christ over the over the journey of repentance and justification that stripping us back over that journey, we suddenly realized that we can't watch this, we can't engage in that certain areas of life, certain circles, we don't walk in anymore. So it's does the church know Jesus? Now, Philip, Philip, a cold disciple in the Gospel of John 14, nine, Jesus said, Don't you know me, Philip, even after I've been among you for such a long time, anyone who has seen me has seen the Father? How can you say, Show us the Father? That is how we see religion, isn't it? It does all the pomp and the ceremony. But it doesn't realize and it doesn't have an understanding of the true father. When you look at the church within the UK is this is really important brothers and sisters, that we look at denominations, and the heads of the denominations that are leading these denominations, are they following Jesus Christ? That is the question. Does the denomination follow Jesus? Does it believe in the Scripture? Does it believe in the Immaculate Conception? Does it believe in the birth and the death and the resurrection? Does it believe in creation and eschatology? These are the questions we need to be asking the heads of because if the heads of these denominations are preaching and teaching Jesus Christ, that will come all the way down through and then we will know who's following Jesus. But what we are finding is there is such a sweetshop of religion at the top and anything goes, we are finding that even our children in education are lost. You know, young young adults look at the young men and the young women, if I could say that, this they seem to be lost in society, they seem to be bobbing around on the ocean of life. And that is because the word of God has been taken out of school taken out of of number 10 Downing Street taken out of religion, and what we need is Christ. And I honestly believe Simon, is when the disciples were was on the boat, when there was on the on the on the, on that lake and Christ, they called out to Christ and they said, Don't pass us by. I think that needs to be the cry from the individual, the believer and the church goer, Lord don't pass us by.
Simon Pinchbeck:Well, then the church in general is taken out the anchor, and it is taken up the anchor, and it's floating around. And it's been attracted to everything of the world. And it's trying to fit into the world, so that it can, so that the world will accept Jesus in in the way that they want to accept him. But rather than dropping the anchor on a word of God and saying, This is what we're standing for, that was standing on the Bible. If it did that, then people wouldn't know where they stood right now, I don't think people know exactly where they stood. Because all of a sudden, we're over here, and all of a sudden, we're over there. We're everywhere apart from the word, the True Word of God. And what you're saying is, you might as well not have the Bible, Ben. And just Jesus says this. You know, this nice fictitious prophet. Yeah, the Muslims, even the Muslims respect Jesus. Yes, because they call him a prophet. And so who were Jehovah we described when when did that podcast last week and Jesus? Jesus is the Savior of the world what he's done with the King of Glory he's done for each and every single one of us. When he died on that cross, and we said last week, they weren't the nows that kept in there, but it was a love for us that kept in there. You got a guy that had never, ever sinned in his life, then, yeah, never sin completely pure in Every way, but he on that particular on that when he was on that cross he was covered in sin, completely covered in sin when you
Reverend Ben Cooper:look at the cross of Calvary and what it represents and the power of salvation, the love the love of God, for us, displayed through His Son, Jesus Christ. And then we've got all this going on that we've got religion, clearly, clearly across the news yesterday, even thinking about discussing, is God, gender gender neutral? Do we need to deal with the pronouns the he and the him? How blasphemous is that when you think about that, that shouldn't even be on the table of discussion. God is God. This Bible says God is Spirit. God is spirit. Christ is the image of the invisible God. And if we think the church thinks that it can mess around with the living, Holy Word of God, we have got trouble coming to this nation like never before
Simon Pinchbeck:you you can't go down that easy grace cheap grace route is because of what Jesus suffered for us what He suffered for us you just Oh Lovely Jesus are in a no he suffered, he suffered he went to hell for us and came back yeah, he took every sin that ever was or ever will be. And when you just consider in a person's lifetime, if they just did I don't know 10 Transgressions a day, you're talking about somewhere in the region of uncountable 200 150,000 sins in a lifetime. Exactly. One person, one person, but he's taking that whole thing on across
Reverend Ben Cooper:and humanity and our youth, humanity and church and religion can be very, it's very difficult to grasp it because we live in a world that is very tech that is very physical that is very quick and moving forward in advancement of life. And very physical if we're if it if we don't see it doesn't exist. But Jesus said, where the wind blows wherever it pleases, but you understand that it's the same with with our God and our Christ and our King. If we think that we can mess around with the Word of God, it clearly tells me that this and I'll use this nation and I'll use this terminology, the bulk of the church really doesn't know who Jesus is. Because there are no I'm gonna I'm gonna get myself in trouble as time goes by where are where are the leaders that are really pounding number 10 Downing Street and actually coming to these these churches and saying, Wait, we need we need the word of God. Education needs a word of God. So that the title of today is do you know Jesus? I'd say that the majority of the church in the UK doesn't know Jesus,
Simon Pinchbeck:it doesn't know Jesus, because if it did know Jesus, then we wouldn't be where we are. We wouldn't be where we are. Because we'd realize that when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are no longer Although we live in the world, we're no longer citizens. We're, we're, we're citizens of the kingdom. Yeah, we belong to the kingdom of God belongs to the kingdom of God. And so we belong to a different kingdom, we belong to an upside down kingdom, and we belong to a kingdom that doesn't pacify the world. Now, we stand strong, we stand tall, we let the light shine out of us. And that's what attracts our people to us. And that's where we advance the kingdom, because that's
Reverend Ben Cooper:what happened to Jesus. When Jesus preached, there was no there was no media, there was no Wi Fi, there was no speaker system. When Christ spoke, people are attracted to the word because he is the living word. So when the truth is preached that is attractive to a human being, because we are living in a society where it's just flooded with so much wrongdoing. When you hear the truth, you actually hold on to the truth. And Jesus says, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life No one comes to the Father except through me. So we have access to the Father through Jesus Christ. And as Jesus said, to fill it, you don't know me fill it. I've been with you for such a long time. And that's how I feel we are in even on the Mayas road with the two that was walking with Christ. He hid them, he kept them. They knew that there was something about this man, but they couldn't work out who he was. I think we're at a real critical stage. And this is not putting a downer on this podcast or this livestream. But the reality of it. This is
Simon Pinchbeck:meant to encourage people to be honest with because it's meant to meant to put a complete stop to where the world is going with Jesus where the church has gone with us and Pull it back to, to where it should be going.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Jesus says, Come on, follow me. So when I follow Jesus, I don't need to follow any other earthly figure. I don't need to follow any other system. I clearly understand where I where I sit as the biblical structure of church. But as we look at the church, can we see in this nation that we got the church of x, the church of Pentecost? Because that is the structure of church, isn't it?
Simon Pinchbeck:We haven't got that. And we haven't gotten that Ben, and we haven't. And when you do, accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then no longer do you want to go down the route of the world, but where the world's leading is saying, Yeah, Jesus's love, just just just say you accept Him and you can go back to doing what you're doing before. Well, no, that's not that's not true. That's not the trigger. That's not the trigger. That's the easy way out. God doesn't wink at sin. The father does not wink a sin. He doesn't say, oh, yeah, you know, you've, you've carried on you've, you've accepted Jesus, you've said, you've done and that's fine. Everything's fine. No, no. It's a change of life. It's a new heart. It's a new birth, it's you've got to be born again. That's what he meant by saying
Reverend Ben Cooper:he must be born again. You said it, again. A new birth? Where does this new birth come from? The birth comes from above. So being born again, the simple understanding for the Scripture is that you're born from above. Nicodemus, when I can't go back that way, Jesus. So how can I be born again, you must be born of spirit, and you're born of water. And that can only come from from salvation. So when we get saved automatically, we become born again, believers in Christ Jesus, and there is a change in our lives. And there is a change in our understanding, there is a change within us. And God has called you and God is speaking to you wherever you are, at this moment in time. But the question goes out across the airwaves this morning, do you know Jesus, and that's not directed at certain individuals that's directing it at the religious establishment, that is just doing what it wants to do. Because if you know, Jesus, you wouldn't add or you wouldn't take away. And if you know Jesus, you know the truth. And the truth will set you free. John 832. There is so much in in that one line. Do you know Jesus? His I asked him the bishops asking the pastors asking the leaders asking the the leaders at the top of the denominations, this has been on on our hearts, on our mind and in our spirit for such a long time to actually look at the denominations that wherever you go, and look at the top of that, have the leaders over that? And are they are they followers of Jesus Christ that that is that is the fundamental truth.
Simon Pinchbeck:Look at it, look at that you will know them by their fruits. Are they separated from the world? Oh, no, they're not. They're wallowing in the world. And it's interesting one John 518 19. And, and the Big John leads us to Christ, but a little John's, they tell us that live? Yeah, we're crisis as we know that whoever is born of God does not sin. But he who has been born of God keeps himself and the wicked one does not touch him. And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. So yeah, the whole world if, if you're not truly knowing Jesus, you're in danger.
Reverend Ben Cooper:You really, you really are you're, and what we've got is a is a seeker friendly church, in many denominations. At this moment, we are seeking, you know, is seeking people to pull in and to, to make church comfortable and to make it fit for the lifestyle of the world. You know, but but we need we need the church in the UK to preach Matthew, Mark, Luke and John revelation, Genesis, the blood of Jesus, do you know Jesus? You know, where are all these evangelists? You know?
Simon Pinchbeck:Well, Ben, there's five Gospels in it because Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and as ourselves
Reverend Ben Cooper:we are at we are the gospel world looks at us. The world looks at before it looks at the living Word of God. And then when we say So, where are the Bible teachers? Where are the evangelists? Where are the five fold ministries? Where are these fivefold ministries? Yes, I know, I know from the bottom of my heart, there are great, there are great biblical churches out there, but it's almost they're getting pushed to the side by the shadow of darkness. That is that is over us. And as the Bible believing believers, I'm not saying I've got it right, because I haven't got it right by a long whack. But I'm understanding that where we sit as a nation, that this nation is like the Titanic you It is sinking at such a rate is sinking so fast. And when I vessel of that size goes down and it goes under the ocean, you got to be careful that you don't get caught in a vortex in the in the suction that's left behind it, you got to get away. If a denomination isn't preaching the gospel truth, you got to get away because when it falls, it will fall with a great crash. You come back to the Scriptures again and again. And again. It says very clearly, if you build on sand, when the rains come, you're going to crash with a great fall if you build upon the rock. Very simply, it says when the streams rose and the rain fell, I believe that we're in this spiritual time, where the streams are rising, and the rain is falling, if you build on the rock, your stand if you build on the sand forward for great crash. So the question is, is is the church building on the rock? Which is God? Or is it building on sand, which is everything that the world has to offer?
Simon Pinchbeck:One, there's a shaking coming in,
Reverend Ben Cooper:there is a serious shaking or tsunami
Simon Pinchbeck:out there. And if and if we're not on on that rock, we're going to be shaken off. And and if you go to the first one, John again, he said the test of knowing Jesus is one John two, three, it says Now by this we know that we know Him. If we keep his commandments, he who says I know him and does not keep his commandments is a liar. And the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His His Word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him, He who says he abides in Him ot himself also to walk just as He walked.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Wow. What what I what I what a what a scripture is to stay in the arms of the Savior, arms or the father to walk. Walk as Christ walked. What an endurance. I honestly honestly believe in all the believers out there will actually say the Bible believing spirit filled believers to stand on the rock and to follow Christ and to live like Christ in a nation that is so, so humanistic, that is so Darwinistic that is so judgmental, and it is so for self and it is so for the occultic activity that goes on so much. occultic activity is rife across this nation, the spiritual airwaves are higher, with a cultic, paganism, witchcraft, wrong doctrines of the Scripture. So to be a believer, and to be steadfast in the Word of God, you have got to be a warrior, you've got to be not Yes, you are, you have got to be in that position of. And this is not about physical strength. This has got nothing to do with the physical capability. It doesn't matter how strong we are, and how fit we are in the physical, because that is irrelevant, because this is warfare in the heavens above. This is spiritual. This is not carnal. This is not of religion. There is a war raging in that in the sky above us in that spiritual realm, where the satanic forces at the last two hours in which we live, the spiritual activity on the dark side is heightening. And if I don't get in that word, when I don't know Jesus, there's a wipeout coming.
Simon Pinchbeck:And what what's the war about? What's the war for?
Reverend Ben Cooper:The end of the ages? The wars
Simon Pinchbeck:for yourself? Yeah, that's exactly right. Yeah, war is for every one, they'd be less spirit. And
Reverend Ben Cooper:so why does the Scripture say the battle belongs to the Lord? If there was no battle, God wouldn't have said it. What battle? Are you referring to the battle for your life, even though you belong to me, even though you're saved in your blood, war, sanctified and you are a child of the living God, there is still outside spiritual influences that are going on that the state church and these religion organizations don't talk about the spiritual warfare. They just talk about the practicalities of, of just religion. But there is a battle. But the battle has been won at the cross of Calvary, but I've got to live like Jesus.
Simon Pinchbeck:And believe me, we've been saying it for a long time on his podcast that we are in the biggest spiritual battle since the cross. Seriously, it is powerful and if you don't trust in the Lord, then you trust is in the things of the world and and this one John is really interesting. He goes on to say, Do not love the world, all the things in the world If anyone loves the world, the love Allah for opera is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life. is not of the Father but is of the world and a world is passing away, and the lust of it, but he who does the will of God will abide forever. Wow.
Reverend Ben Cooper:You know, it's about living, walking following Jesus. But do you know Jesus? I think this word this this cry out goes across to the nation. It goes across to the establishments, it goes across to the individual. And I believe Jesus is saying this, do you know me? Do you not Philip? You don't know me fill it. Even though I've walked amongst you for such a long time. You don't know the Father. So even though Christ is walking amongst us, and He says I'll never leave you nor forsake you. Has the UK left Christ has the religion has the order has the denominations come to the point where now we are hearing across the airwaves that they are looking and even debating and even coming to the table of talking about a gender neutral God taken out the he and the him and the pronouns and on all this, we are in trouble. Serious spiritual trouble. If we allow and it will go on, it will go on there'll be a big split. But this is the point I'll tell you what the battle is about to begin and where you've you've got to keep your eyes open. Hebrews chapter 12. Keep your eyes on Jesus the author the perfecter of your faith. This is the been a deep a deep dive today. This has been a deep Convo this is we pray that it's been encouraging you but do you know Jesus that is across every area of life? Do you know him
Simon Pinchbeck:because being encouraged friends because if you know Jesus, Matthew 722 won't come into play because you won't be saying I've done this in your name. I've done that in your name. And Jesus won't say go away from me. Because I never you never knew me. Because really what he wants, he wants you to take Him into your heart. So if you know him in your head, it needs to come down to your heart. You need to know him and your heart you need to confess repent and accept Him in your heart and walk with him. Yes, like Ben says, stand on His Word, the rock of his word. Because it's frightening. The alternative if you don't is that is the wide road the narrow road is it's it's go away from me I never knew you would imagine that. And, and, and he says in the Bible that God wants no one or perish. Yeah, it was all God so loved the world. Yeah, he wants no one to perish.
Reverend Ben Cooper:It's about following Jesus. You know, I respect the church. I understand everything in the church, I get that I'm part of it. We move in it, we understand that clearly. But it's the body of Christ. Are you? Are you a born again, Spirit filled believer? Do you know me? As Christ said to Philip, you don't know me, Philip, if you know me, you'd know the Father to it's very important for me as a believer at the hour of now living in the UK, to say, Lord, I don't want head knowledge of you. I don't want academic understanding of You. Lord, I want to true relationship with Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I want to know that my name is stamped in the Lamb's book of life. I want to know that I'm going to glory.
Simon Pinchbeck:I don't want to listen to any theologian telling me all about you. I want to know you. I don't I want to seek You know, I'll find you have a seat you all my heart.
Reverend Ben Cooper:And Lord, I've got a following. And as Jesus just we're coming to the table in a few moments. So if anyone is with us and you want to join, we're going to we're going to break bread together in a moment, we're going to take the cup, I think the cry out for any believer across the table of conversation to your friend in our churches, are you born again. Because if you're born again, you do know Jesus. But we. But as we know Jesus, He reveals more Jesus to us, and the Living Word and the Holy Spirit. We have the power and the authority of Christ living within us. And the Bible says perfect love drives out all fear. So as you get to know Him more and as he draws you because the scripture says God is spirit in in the Gospel of John Chapter Four. And God seeks out his worshipers that worship in spirit and in truth. We've got a worship in spirit and in truth but if you are a born again, believer, you will worship in spirit and in truth. You will know the truth and the truth will set you free. You're worshiping God, and you will worship in living word. But do you know Jesus that is being asked of me this morning? Do you know Jesus? Do you love me Ben? Do you really love me? Do you love me, Ben? Yes, Lord, I love your die for your Lord. Lord I'd go to present for you, Ben, do you love me? Because when the rooster crows when the football comes on the telly when you earn that fire, Ben, when the football comes on the telly, when the job offer is bigger, when it's a big one, when the Jim's calling you, when when the family holiday is looking great and wonderful, Lord, I'll stay with you no matter what.
Simon Pinchbeck:When that's when the tax returns to you.
Reverend Ben Cooper:I'll know. Lord, help
Simon Pinchbeck:me energy bills due to be paid.
Reverend Ben Cooper:I know you then. That is the question, isn't it? Right, right great disciple. That was at the fire Ben of life, denied him when his back was against the wall. And now, I believe believers in the UK, we are going to start to see persecution. It is going to be very relevant. The word is going to be used more. The Christian in the UK is going to be persecuted. There is no revival coming. There is no revival. There is no more tent meetings. And it's interesting that the evangelists can't even fill the stadiums anymore. They can't even fill the church holes anymore. It's not happening. The Men's Ministry is or are struggling, the women's ministry is are struggling, because the question is, do we know the real Jesus? You know, when revival falls from heaven, will be on the floor. When a holy God comes into this nation. When the rider on that horse comes back. Eschatology?
Simon Pinchbeck:Well that's a danger. Because if when when he does come back, that's the end of tonight, if we don't know him by that time, then it is too late. Yeah. So you know, I would encourage anyone out there who's on the brink at the moment, this moment in time to, to accept Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior, Khan's confessing, turn away from it. And and, and embrace Him and follow Him and follow Him to to our Heavenly Father. And then be born again.
Reverend Ben Cooper:You must be born again.
Simon Pinchbeck:You must be born again. John, free free, and then your truth and the truth will set you free. It's, it's not rocket science, man. It's simple.
Reverend Ben Cooper:And you know what the beauty of it is, it's none of us. Nothing we can do. It's him working in us and through us. We're going to come to the table now. And we're going to break bread. And if you're with us, we thank you for all those on Spotify and Buzzsprout and, and all the different devices, you're listening to this stuff back through. But we're just going to bow our heads a moment. And then we're gonna break bread. You know, God is Spirit, and God is truth. Christ is with you. God is with you at your home now. And if you are online with us on this broadcast, God is with you. If you're at work, God is with you. If you're at home, if you're troubled, and if you're lost in your life, God is with you. And wherever you are, whatever is going on in your life at this moment. God is with you. Because he's everywhere. He's all power. He's all presence. He's all glory. And his love is unconditional. Father as we come to the Passover, remembering the past in over. And as God said to Moses, the blood will be a sign that still stands for today, the blood will be a sign sign of what got freedom from death, freedom from hell, the blood will be a sign that you belong to me. I would urge you as we break bread and take this cup of silent prayers for this cup in a moment to ask God Lord, put the blood over the doorposts of our house. Put the blood over the lintels of the windows, as it was in Exodus chapter 12 and 13 when when God gave clear instruction, because this is what we are remembering. This is not a religious order brought in by the Pope or the bishops. This is of Scripture. And this started off in Exodus well, actually you will find the redemption plan in Genesis chapter one. Very, very clearly fathers we break bread together. Now Lord, we understand that this bread symbolizes the body of Christ. And Lord, I need to know Jesus like never before. Lord, I need your father to work in me and through me and around me. And the personal prayer this morning, Lord, it's strip us back of self. And we recognize this bread is just bread in itself, but it symbolizes the body of Christ. So Father, thank you for this opportunity as we remember the passing over of the angel of death because the blood will be a sign in Jesus name. Amen.
Simon Pinchbeck:Part of his tiniest little symbol of the blood of your Son Jesus Christ and father lit cleanses today It cleanses from all rubbish that's going on in your life and let it be a reminders that we are not of this world we are of your kingdom, and we are separate from this world. And we are covered in the blood of Jesus which protects us and sets us free from from that from the world. And whatever's going on the world, Lord, and whatever's going on in our lives. Let it bring peace to us today. Let the blood bring peace as it cleanses, washes us clean and keeps us in the world but not of the world. In Jesus name. Amen.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Amen. Holy Spirit, we asked you that you will rest again on us a fresh like it was in the day of Pentecost, there was a violent wind call into the book of Acts chapter two. There was a violent wind, a sound that came from heaven. And what seemed to be tongues of fire came and separated and rested on all of them. And the Bible says the Spirit enabled them. God is with you. The Holy Spirit is in enabling you to do what you got to do. The fire of God is resting on you. The presence of the Holy Spirit is ruined your life and and the title of today's podcast and broadcasters. Do you know Jesus? We would urge you to call out to Christ today. Say, Lord, I want to know you more. I want more of your Holy Spirit. I want more of your power. I want more of your glory. I want more of your living word. Strengthen us we pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and wash us and cleanse us and draw us in. And the question again, it just keeps going out it keeps going out from our lips. Do you know Jesus? Simon, would you just just gently bring us down to a place of where we can say God bless to everybody?
Simon Pinchbeck:Yeah, well, we just want to encourage anyone out there is listening to this today to really look in into your heart. And Are you absolutely sure that you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Are you absolutely sure? Because if you're not, then get out of that Gospel of John, look at that, John, free, free look at it. And make sure that you give your life to Christ today and know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and know Him know Him more than you've ever known him. Because, friends, there's a troubled world out there. And if we haven't got Jesus, and we don't know him, or we should know him, we won't have that peace that passes all understanding. So as we bring it to a closer day, we want to encourage you at layer two, to keep listening to what we're doing. We'll be doing another podcast on on the theme of Jesus next week. # Christian straight talk. And if anybody's got any questions or queries or wants any resource from us, then please get in touch and you'll find out how to do that quite easily. So Brent, it's good night from me.
