Good morning, everybody. God bless you wherever you are this morning. It is Thursday morning, the fourth of May. It is 1020 here within the UK. And we thank you so much for the 1000s of downloads, everybody listening to these podcasts that are going out, obviously now we're live on this broadcast on Thursday morning, whatever your day looks like in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, God is with you. And it's # Christian straight talk. And we are coming straight out of the barrel of truth. And we've got Simon and myself with us today, just for the next 40 minutes as we just have a quick little look into the good ol Bible. Many churches have pushed the Bible out. But we're bringing it back in. We want it to be about the Word of God don't with Simon come on
Simon Pinchbeck:the Bible but also been you know, this is this is what what they commonly known as Star Wars days is, you know,
Reverend Ben Cooper:Star Wars Day,
Simon Pinchbeck:May the Fourth be with
Reverend Ben Cooper:you may the fourth they were Yeah.
Simon Pinchbeck:Yeah. Now we're into into the Bible, which is
Reverend Ben Cooper:What's all that about?
Simon Pinchbeck:We're into the red letter stuff today. And it's all Jesus talks about. But before we do that, we just have to say for the next couple of weeks, we're not won't be going out live. Well,
Reverend Ben Cooper:we got a couple of weeks out of recording. So if anybody
Simon Pinchbeck:we've got got a couple of weeks at a managed his pleasure.
Reverend Ben Cooper:And we yeah, we got a couple of weeks where? Oh, yeah, His Majesty's pleasure now. And always His Majesty. Yeah. Now just for anyone that is out there on all those that are out there, you know, there won't be anything coming for the next two weeks of CST got other things going on. Very, very, very busy. Lots of things happening. But, you know, there's a lot of back stuff that we'll be putting up as well. So there's so many podcasts that we have done. So there's a massive back library. So just in the world of Patreon, just in the world of Buzzsprout. Regarding CST, there'll be a couple of weeks of silence to a certain degree. But then we're back in the chairs, and we will be pressing the boards for Jesus Christ again. So do not panic, we have not disappeared when the rapture hasn't taken place. The only two of us that are left, we're still about but we just got other things that have got to be pressed in. And but God bless every one of you, wherever you are. Thank you so much for joining us on these broadcasts on these Thursday mornings, and especially to everybody across the world. And I was looking at the stats earlier on and just showing Simon that we're in 59 nations and we're in 775 cities around the world with 1000s of downloads. Across the board of CST Elian podcast, everything that we do, the live streaming, and in the world rather of the podcast in it is reaching the globe. So thank God to everybody. Right now that's listening to us on Buzzsprout. Apple Music, you know, Apple podcast, all those different platforms that we're pushing this out. Simon, what's the subject today? What are we talking about? Yeah,
Simon Pinchbeck:well, we're gonna be talking about the narrow way or the narrow gate, Ben. And just for anyone's information, we'll be back during the live stream on the 25th of May. So it's just a couple of weeks, just a couple of weeks out. Yeah, but I'm just thinking about this and listen to a few bits. But I don't think as a Christian these days, we can afford to be neutral. I don't think we can afford we can't afford to sit on the fence, Mike Gammon.
Reverend Ben Cooper:There's many gender neutral stuff going on at the moment. You can be what you like the Church says, yeah, we can embrace anything. But the kingdom of God is very, very different in it. You can't sit on the fence
Simon Pinchbeck:on the fence, because the enemy owns the fence and you get splinters in the backside. So we've got, we've got to make a choice. And we
Reverend Ben Cooper:the choice, what is the choice Jesus or the world, Jesus or the world? You know, the church is absolutely exploding in so many wrong ways. At the moment within the West, and especially in the UK. It is now the time to stand up for Jesus Christ because that scripture that we're coming to, and we're turning to the synoptic Gospel of Matthew chapter seven, and we're coming from verse 13, and we're going first 13 probably down to around about 24 Possibly, but it's a beautiful text, isn't it? Jesus
Simon Pinchbeck:but all the way through this, this amazing book. There's questions to be asked you choose choose choose in the you know, sort of Moses said, you know, choose this day. Yeah. Joshua said choose this day who you're gonna follow and he said, you know, As for me, and my house will follow the Lord. And Jesus is there in Matthew seven. And he says he's talking to his disciples is chatting away and he's saying Enter by the narrow gate. Wow, the wide gate and the broad gate is the way that leads to destruction. And there are many who are going by it. Because narrow is the gate. And difficulty is the way which leads to life. And there are few that find it. Now, if you look at the gate to the narrow path, Ben has to be the cross in it.
Reverend Ben Cooper:It all comes to the cross The cross, right? Yeah, it's really clear and it says enter through Jesus says, I am the door I am the way I am the truth I am the Life and Christ is the narrow way. So as a believer as a John three three Bible believing believer, we will find that that narrow way won't get any more tighter or narrow because we're already in but what we'll find is the outside the Broadway, The Last Vegas lights and the glitz and the glamour of the world and even certain areas of ministry and church are going down this wildly woke way I honestly think that the church in the UK is really limp at the moment it is really woke and grabbing
Simon Pinchbeck:just the UK fingers the Western world and the Western world but but here we have been brought broad road and you got to be strong now to stand up and say no, it's like, you know, we we've spoken many times about the salmon swimming up to Yeah, upstream
Reverend Ben Cooper:up the stream you like this salmon and you're swimming against the tide of life. You can't afford to stop you can't afford to take your head out the water you can't afford to go to the left or the right the bears gonna grab you you got to be in the in the middle but you got to be swimming up full stretch, and it comes down to endurance then it comes down to enduring and going through and prayer and going through the narrow but we've been through the narrow but the church and religion is on this broad path to what to destruction a policy
Simon Pinchbeck:so what we're saying then and we'll come on with the church as we always do, we'll come other church in a little while but this is a personal choice when this is a personal choice 100% Yeah, we got to choose and you out there have you listened so gotta choose you know, are you going to stay one way on the broad path or you're going to Enter by the narrow gate and the narrow gate which is the cross and then to go down a narrow path with Jesus it's it's I don't think there's any gray areas anymore as to be black or white and you put your you put your stake in the ground and and say that because you know it makes that statement Ben he says you know Enter by the narrow guide Why is the guide and broad is a way that leads to destruction. Well, he can't make any plainer than that Kenny
Reverend Ben Cooper:No, it's like it's like a writing is like a road in it that the narrow is a small dirt track that is is not really lit up that is a narrow you've got to find it seek ye first the kingdom of God. And the broad way is like the motorways lit up signs everywhere to set
Simon Pinchbeck:it then Broadway, Broadway, Broadway, Broadway orderlies and all the glamour and all the glitz and all of that stuff is in the Broadway which is very attracted to the flesh. burnin
Reverend Ben Cooper:if you look at the gateway to a sheep pen is very small, you know the pen might be large, but the way into the kingdom of God is very small. And we're not saying Christ this small. We're not saying that what we are saying here is very, very clear. is narrow is the way so it is that it is like a spearhead. So our life is a journey. It's like the Old Testament meet in the New Testament at across the Calvary, what we're talking and what the Scriptures are referring to, is the cross that is behind Simon that is the narrow that that is the point that is the spearhead of what we're talking about
Simon Pinchbeck:talking about. Yeah, and you will. Listen, there's a lot of chatter out there. There's a lot of preaching out there that would say, oh, when you get to heaven, there'll be more people there than what you you know, than what we know there's there's there's teachers out there or folks teachers if you like, you know prosperity teachers that will say that. Basically, everyone's good. Basically, everyone's good. They just make poor choices. Well, you know, the Bible tells us different than the Bible tells us the heart is deceitful above all thing. And if you if you remember that, Ben the parable Jesus told about the sower, the sower and he was saying the seeds were Yeah, and there was only out of or differences that felt it was only one that actually bore fruit and when I would say that saved went down the narrow road narrow, fat fell on good. So, Ben when people sit back and say, now you know, I think of the I think the broad the narrow gate is so is going to be loads of this only one in four of people that heard the word exactly that heard the
Reverend Ben Cooper:word one in four. Yeah, we are living in very precarious, really powerful times. And if you are online with it at this moment, you're listening to this podcast, wherever you are, whether in the world of Buzzsprout, Spotify, all them platforms that we're streaming to an online at this moment, we will start to find that religion, and the church will will hide the gate. It will try and hide the gate for showmanship it will try to hide the gate. Because what happens is, when church leaders and congregations go through the gate, it's not about us anymore. It's not about the building. It is about Jesus Christ, but all the time we're outside the gate and we're on the Broadway and you can see many churches adapt in the Broadway look, the lights, the glitz, the glamour, the the backdrops
Simon Pinchbeck:is very tempting for the individual to
Reverend Ben Cooper:because we want to show we want to feed the flesh.
Simon Pinchbeck:I've been into some of these places and and you get your feelings and your emotions tickled. And yeah, it is a feelgood factor there. But it's not about feelings, not about emotions, it's about Jesus and it's about the cross and his rights. And it's not about so you got you know, we've kind of gone in the church. I never thought manner of speaking. But what you've got, you've either got people in these fancy robes and ants and all that sort of thing who love the light of the purpose as you love who love sitting out there who love setting or you got completely the other way where they don't care what they wear, they got no respect got it, it really doesn't matter and they don't care what they sing and they jump up and down. And but you come into church
Reverend Ben Cooper:coming into the Holy, Holy of Holies you come into into the presence of the Almighty God the King above all kings spirits
Simon Pinchbeck:come to be Yeah, lifted, not your feelings. Your Spirit has come to be uplifted. You come in with all the stuff that's gone on in the week. Yeah, to leave it, leave it there, leave it at the cross, we come free and light and not we've said You know, you come into church with that rucksack. And yeah, and that rucksack should be
Reverend Ben Cooper:any cuts it off, cuts it off, and what cuts it off. It is the presence of Christ, it is walking with Jesus, you know, the narrow path, the narrow gate than the narrow way will take you to the cross, it will take you to Christ. And then once we go through Christ, once we're born again, spirit filled, and we enter into this place this, this walk with Christ Jesus. And it's not an emotional walk. It's a spiritual walk. So when we talk about emotions are off the body of the mind. But we are we are spiritual, we are higher than any emotion. So it is our spirit that is saved into the interest of this saved and it's not this flesh this this outside. So it's the inner Simon and
Simon Pinchbeck:that's a great point. And I think, you know, I think we should just go over that again. When because we're made up of free things. Then we have the soul which is our emotions. Yes. Feelings. Yeah. And the spirit.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah, that's right. Now Jesus speaks about it's really clear, doesn't
Simon Pinchbeck:it? Yeah, Jesus talks about, we feed our feelings, we feed our physical things, but the things we eat, don't work with and are solely swayed by emotions. And if you live in on emotions, if your people say follow your heart, please don't follow your heart got to be
Reverend Ben Cooper:careful with what you're saying. If you if you go after God, like what it says like David at a heart after God,
Simon Pinchbeck:what are you going to do when you've got to come to God first don't come to Jesus first on any decisions or any choice you're gonna come to Jesus first. But if you don't, you're gonna be running on emotions and feelings and one day you're gonna feel like that and the other day you're gonna feel down and up and down where Yo yo, no, Pete was speaking to out that you all know people that one day they're down the next day they're up. Yeah, and the next day and we're yo
Reverend Ben Cooper:yoing because of the mind yo Yeah, the brain and the mind and the emotions are trying to control us when actually the spiritual last if we are in the word in the word in the word if we're across if we're in repentance, if we're coming to Jesus every moment, and and we're living our lives for Christ and we're walking with Him. Our body reacts to what we feed it if feed at Coronation Street and EastEnders and the internet and social media I'm going to become a nervous wreck because it's in conflict to what the Bible says gonna
Simon Pinchbeck:do your brain you're gonna, you're gonna be seared with the images and all that or exactly all that sort of stuff we cannot.
Reverend Ben Cooper:What you feed yourself you become you could become Yeah. Honestly, if you take an athlete, you know a lot about this, if you take an athlete and, and someone that is in training for an event that they are, they are enduring, they close everything down, they're focused. Wouldn't it be great if you could get the church to be literally focused like an athlete, as the scripture writer writes, be focused, you know, keep in the line of Christ, don't come out of it. Be careful of your diet. What do you mean careful of your diet? We are referring to your spiritual diet,
Simon Pinchbeck:you got to feed the spirit, the spirit is fed by the word of God been 100% Not if we're not getting into the bubble, we're in trouble because you see, this is where the enemy will come in. He can attack the Spirit because the spirit is yeah. Is from the lowliest it's grafted in well crafted in is that is the spirit but where he can get us Yeah, as, as a Christian, you can get as in the emotions and the feelings
Reverend Ben Cooper:in three areas of the body, the body, the mind, the soul, the thinking, the cognitive processes in the psychological thinking, anticipating the roadmap in our lives, planning hours and days ahead, when actually is Lord, what do you want for me? I want you to go through the narrow gate, what is this narrow gate or what is this narrow path? You know, we live our lives by a psychological process in everything is trying to press the happy button inside of us shopping, live in, you know, this, that all the activities of the world and we're in conflict within our mind, well, we lose our pace
Simon Pinchbeck:it we do lose a piece. And look, don't get me wrong, you know, if you you know, sin can be, I guess in certain areas can be pleasant for a short time, but there's no free lunches, there's always a price to pay so, so there's always a consequence to our to our action. So we would go ever engaging in that broad body for letting it let the enemy come in and, and attack our feelings or pull us down there. And it's happens, you know, and the less time we're in the word less time, we're feeding the spirit, the more we are susceptible to that to the enemy coming in, and using stuff that that he knows is a trigger or button for us personally, yeah,
Reverend Ben Cooper:the flesh button. But when we feed ourselves off the living Word of God, we are feeding, not the physical, the flesh, we are feeding the interest, the inner, each and every one of us to spiritualize, the John three, three, Bible believing believer, the Bible says put the word of God on the tablet of your heart. Faith comes by hearing the message and the message is heard through the word of God. So my faith will increase my, my boldness in Christ will increase my my love for the for others will increase. When I get more in the living Word of God, anger will disappear, pride will disappear, jealousy will disappear. Everything will disappear out of this natural realm. The more I go in and through the narrow gate,
Simon Pinchbeck:because what we're doing, we're giving it all to Jesus. And we were given everything
Reverend Ben Cooper:given your thinking.
Simon Pinchbeck:And you don't make it complicated. It's really simple. Really, it
Reverend Ben Cooper:really is you can look at this gay Canyon, look at it as a gate of salvation. That yes, I go through this, I go through this gateway, I go through this narrow path, this gate, this gate that only one person has the key that can open it. And you can reflect that back to being your heart as well. God has the key to open us up and do this amazing work within us because we can't do it by ourselves because we've got to go to Him because He is the WAY the TRUTH OF THE LIFE. And he is the access to the Father,
Simon Pinchbeck:our Heavenly Father has provided Jesus for us and we lift him up today to him and say, you know, thank you, Father for Jesus because we are Jesus everything with Jesus. We can't get to the Father and without Jesus we can't enter the gate. You know, he's, he's everything Guinea and what He says He goes on to say and this is interesting benek in the next sentence, he says beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by that by their fruits. Very interesting. Yeah. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Even so every good tree bears good fruit, but a battery bears bad fruit and a good tree cannot bear bad fruit nor a bad tree good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown to the fire. Therefore by their fruits, you will know them I mean, that's great advice. Absolutely great advice. So no matter what someone is saying to you, let's see how they're living their lives.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah, yeah, that so when you look at that, watch out for the false prophets, they're everywhere, everywhere. When you look at this at the moment, you can look at many denominations, you can look at areas of life, you can look at certain things that happening across the globe, in certain ministries and religious circles, and you can see the false prophets, you can see that they are not for Jesus Christ, how do you know they're not for Jesus, because they're not preaching the word. Because when you preach it, the preaching and the teaching, and every one of us when we get into the Word, the Word changes us, we are not able to change the living Word of God, the Word of God changes us if the churches, and you see that these false prophets, you know, you don't even need to look at the fruit of their life because we see for what comes out of their mouths from pulpit, and what comes out of the denomination in their heads. They're not for Jesus, they're not
Simon Pinchbeck:producers been And the sad thing is they all lead in many down abroad path,
Reverend Ben Cooper:that they're going down this slippery tube,
Simon Pinchbeck:because it's all about them. Yeah, go follow me. Follow me know about Jesus. I think
Reverend Ben Cooper:when you've got leaders and denominations that say, We are the church, I think that we're that's the that's that is a gate. That is the broad way. Discussion, when you've got leaders and denominations saying, We are the church, if anybody says we are, or I am, or I have built this ministry, I have built this church, I have done this. Suddenly, it's all about the idea and not about him. You know, Jesus, what does he say that beautiful line, I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail. It's not our job, is it to build it?
Simon Pinchbeck:No, not at all. We're instruments. We are instruments and we, but as instruments, we just got a surrender. And let
Reverend Ben Cooper:call you said a word there. The Lord uses surrender. Religion cannot surrender because he has to be in control.
Simon Pinchbeck:That's the thing, you know. And if the Lord says walk away, he would go walk away, Ben, I mean, if the Lord's leaving and so but, but that's in a very interesting book, he goes on to say in the next bit, he goes on to say, Ben, and this is probably some of the most frightening scriptures in the Bible. And Jesus is saying, it's in the red letters, he says, Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven. Oh, god help us fit he does the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, we have we not prophesied in your name, cast out demons in your name, and done many wonders in your name. And then I will declare to them, I never knew you, depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Look at that, that isn't that is probably one of the most frightening texts Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven. So where does it where do we get this from? Again? Jesus says it in John three, three, you can't see it, and you can't enter into it. If you do not come through me, because I am that way. I am the gate, I am the deal. You can't build your church without me. It says many will prophesy in my name. We see that this moment in time. And like you said, there are many ministries, taking people down this wrong path, taking them away from the teachings of Christ, not bold enough to give us the truth to deliver the truth across the pulpit says, Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does what? The will of the Father What did Jesus say in the Garden of Gethsemane?
Simon Pinchbeck:Totally not my will, but Your will be done father.
Reverend Ben Cooper:So the key to this Simon isn't it is find out what the will of the Father is, only can only do that through Jesus. So it's a
Simon Pinchbeck:no brainer, those and fallen before him and saying, Lord, I'm not worthy to receive you only sign a word and I shall be healed and Lord, let me follow Jesus died and let Jesus show me the way and it's a continual. That's what prayer is about is continual conversation, continuous, continuous compliance, continuously, you know, and everything. You know, everything we do, we can bring it bring it to the cross,
Reverend Ben Cooper:our whole life should be cross focused, not on the, on the structure of the cross, not on the elements of the cross, not on the, on the symbolism of the cross, but remembering what the cross represents and what happened at the cross that redemption. And the Old Testament came up to the cross. It's like, you can almost see these old scriptures that everything was at this point, and it was all facing to the cross, the pinnacle, the point the crescendo of this, of this. Christ was holding everything in his voice is It is finished and a man entered into a new covenant and out of the Old Covenant, the new began. So everything is about the Old Testament about the New Testament. It is about Jesus. It is about He is the WAY and he is the narrow gate. But I also believe that when we go through the narrow gate for the first time through salvation, He opens the gate for us. But we're going backwards and forwards. Because it's the road of life, isn't it? Like the prodigal son, we got to come back to him. So we come back. And we go through the process again, the redemption process, Lord, I've sinned, I've fallen short, helped me God today,
Simon Pinchbeck:we fall off the straight and narrow. That's what we do. Yeah. But, but, yeah, it's a continual. Because Jesus said, didn't they? And it's, it isn't easy, because he said, it here is difficult. It's not easy. He says, he says, pick up your cross and follow me. And he says, in that you, you know, you've got people bred to die for me. So you're crossed daily. It's a daily thing. It's a daily walk. And, you know, say, for example, definitely, but right now, we've got in this country that we've got a kingdom who's going to anoint, assassinate, but it's gonna be crammed in a weekend, and you will hear no verdict this week, you know, many Christians going, Oh, we're going up. We're taking tracks we're going up to to Westminster Abbey, we're going up
Reverend Ben Cooper:and we're going to stand up for Jesus, we're going to stand up for Christ. And this
Simon Pinchbeck:is one of them things. Where is this? Is this from you, Lord? Or is it? Are we just thinking it's a good idea to do this? Because these are the people he's talking about, you know, law, didn't we give out all these books?
Reverend Ben Cooper:Didn't we do this in your name? I think this is this is so so awkward at the moment what is happening there within the church within the UK and government and department and monarchy, I think that we are tipping on a very dangerous pin at this moment in time. And I believe with all my heart that when this process happens when this, this narrative comes into full fruition and all this building up when it happens when they actually anoint him. I don't believe it is the real church of Jesus Christ. That is the anointing, I believe it is a religion. And I believe it could be a cultish in many ways. And I also believe that when it happens, we are starting to dip a little bit more spiritually in the UK, there is something happening, I will use this word atmosphere. I don't like using that word because it can relate to certain ministers, you know, that talk about the atmosphere, you can change the atmosphere and all that razzmatazz, which isn't true, but the spiritual forces that are working at this moment in time, I do believe what the scripture says in the last days as it was in the days of Noah. So will it be well what happened then, we had foreign gods we had an affiliation, we had everything breaking out the sons of gods, and we had bow worship, and we had idol worship. And that's what we got. That's what we see at this moment. So when he is anointed, I actually believe spiritually will drop again. And this has to happen. For us to come back to true repentance, there's going to be a very, very unusual day on Saturday.
Simon Pinchbeck:But you know, I was just using that as a as an example of, you know, when I still think is a personal, a personal choice, we might have it a broad road or a narrow route and abroad route rule takers, definitely, all different, different directions. And it is Luke 923. So pick up your cross and follow me and is every all the way through is ministry is he's pointing the way through him to the Father, through him for salvation, through Him for everything that we need, and he is that Jesus is the narrow path. So we got to we got to sew in completely to Jesus Christ and and wherever you go for your spiritual food, food wherever you are. You don't you can't go away from the book. You can't go away on a bike now. You might get it you might have a good preacher, you might have a good teacher but it always comes back to the Word of God.
Reverend Ben Cooper:It can't lead the Word of God can't. If we leave the Word of God suddenly we come in the apostasy church, we become this church that is in revolt, we come to a church and and where we're using this term of a political revolt where we are coming away from the Word of God as soon as we come away from the Word of God. As a church or a denomination, we are in serious trouble.
Simon Pinchbeck:But nobody says in Romans eight 813 And it says just have a look Assam, it says poor if you live according to the flesh, you will die. But if by the Spirit, you put to death that these are the body you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. See, and then it goes on to say you can call out, Abba, Father. But if you're living in the flesh, you cannot be on the narrow path. And if you're living in the flesh, you're living on, on your feelings, and you're living on the broad rather than Jesus says it leads to destruction. Yeah, it's not easy living in this Christianity. But it's a great challenge. And if you're a young person out there, and you're looking for a challenge, then this is what this is the Christ challenge you'll ever have. And for all of us, it's the greatest challenge.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Thank you, Jesus. So what are the main characteristics of a church that is in apostasy is pretty simple. There are two areas that you will find just two areas of the church that's that. That is an apostolic church. That is, it's falling away from what it falls away from the key doctrines of the Bible. That's That's it. That's simple. When the denomination starts to come away from the doctrines of grace, the fundamental teachings of Jesus Christ, and starts to teach its own line of understanding the Bible is the way so there's two two areas, the falling away from the doctrines. And then you come to this place where there's a complete abandonment of Jesus Christ. So they both go together. Well, Paul,
Simon Pinchbeck:some say I've been in. In one Timothy four, he says, Now the Spirit expressly says, the latter days, some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies and hypocrisy, having their own conscience said, with a heart I forbidden to forbidding to marry and commanding to abstain from those which God created to be received with thanksgiving. by those who believe and know the truth for every creature of God is God and nothing is to be refused, if it is received with thanksgiving, for the sanctified by the word of God in prayer. And what he's saying that have been Is that is that you can very quickly have your heart and B see it and be burned, it can be sealed in Yes. And like you're used to like what you said just a few minutes ago, the doctrines of demons. This is not this is not a doctrine of Jesus of the Bible. This is not a teaching of this is a doctrine of demons are leading us astray.
Reverend Ben Cooper:So it becomes an occult, and then you look at denominations, don't you and you can quite easily look at certain denominations. And you can see they've got very cultic practices going on. You got spiritualist churches, you've got the certain areas of Pentecostal movement in tribal ways that they do things where they lift up the pastor as the daddy above all daddies. And you know what we're saying. And so you've got a tribe a tribal way, you've got an occultic way. And when you get to that position, you come away from the doctrines of grace, you cannot come out of what God says if God says it, it's there. The Bible says, All have sinned and fallen short of thy glory. All of us are sinners saved by grace. So it's not so much a lifestyle that you find the apostasy and the apostasy sorry. And, and all that happening, what you find is when the denomination that denomination, the main body, comes away from doctrines that is, and Jude speaks about that in Jude one, all the way through, he very clearly tells us watch out for the Church of the apostates and the apostasy church and be really careful because when they come away from the doctrines, we've got it loud and clear, and we've been happening in the UK and across the globe. Coming away from the word How many of
Simon Pinchbeck:you listen to us or watches? You You won't see us referring to another book? Well, you know, apart from our books, our
Reverend Ben Cooper:books, our books, ebooks, yeah, we are the best go when you start saying things like that we're in. We're in serious trouble. And there are many preachers Simon in there in pulpits that are not believers.
Simon Pinchbeck:That's no different subjects. Probably do a podcast at some time, but but you've only got a look what he's said in the Book of Revelation, Ben. It's a waste of time. The lukewarm church in Revelation 314 It says, unto the angel, the church of the Laodiceans right yeah, says this. He says those things To say the amen and the faithful and the true witnesses and the beginning of creation of God I know your works, right? I know you're I know you're working on escape from the Lord, he's got us got you sees everything. I know your works that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot. So then because you are lukewarm, neither cold or hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth. I will load Elvis. So then he goes because you say I am rich. Yeah, I have become wealthy and I have needed nothing. How many churches have we got doing all this stuff? And people out there is so comfortable because they've got a few quid wrapped around them. They got a nice house, you got a nice car and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked. And that's our Lord. Jesus. That's how he sees them.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah, completely different to how they portray and push it over over the pulpit. You know, two Corinthians, two Corinthians chapter 11, verse 13. And 14 says, for such men are false prophets, deceitful workman. And it says, bringing themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder for even Satan himself is an angel of light. So we have to be very wise. In the Word of God, we got to be literally immersed walking in it, breathing it, eating it, chewing it over, you know, look what the scripture says in, in the book of Joshua. So, so clear, meditate on the word day and night, meditate on the word, the word cannot come away. You can't we cannot come away from the Word of God. We cannot extract ourselves in any way shape or form. But denominations we see there is a big apostasy in the UK at this moment in time, for big mainstream denominations have come away from the doctrines. It's so clear.
Simon Pinchbeck:God says He says in a Paul says in Galatians. And so even if even if I or another person is to preach a false gospel, even if an angel lives to preach a false gospel, I will bring the curse on him. So you guys so you know that's traded on very thin ice there. But you know, he goes on to say in this revelation free says, as many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. So there's a chance but there's a chance because if you open your arm and listen to him and get back on the narrow path, even if you for an interview, he says, Therefore beat zealous he says I'm repent. So sell us for Jesus, be on fire for Jesus and repent of your sin. Behold, he says that I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens a door I will come to him and dine with him and him with me. So there's a chance for everyone.
Reverend Ben Cooper:And how do we do this? It's Jesus. It's Jesus. It's through Jesus to the cross to the Father.
Simon Pinchbeck:And that's that scripture there was a painting you many people will have seen his paintings by a guy called helmet something I can't get me a memory but he's standing at a door Jesus with a light standing at a door and these doors all covered with with IV and things like that. And he's standing at a door and it was this Scripture he was talking about and when he did this this guy this P painted this thing someone said to him Oh you made a mistake the There's no door handle on the door. He said no that's on purpose because he said the handle that a door is on the inside. So we have to open the door and bring Jesus in come on yeah, because ain't all about us. It ain't I'm over here Jesus. Oh, come on. Come come every you've wanted to. You want to be for ages and you know I'm ready for you now No, no, no, it's it's we get on our knees we get on our face and Jesus.
Reverend Ben Cooper:It is you know, Jesus. I think what come it is it comes to that point of just calling out Jesus on nature Lord, like never before. Lord, I'm calling on your name like never before. I need your like never before it is all about Jesus Christ, the King above all kings. This nation is in really powerful times at this moment. We've got a coronation happening. It's scriptural. Everything is breaking out there has always been kings trying to rule the world. But there is only one king that rules the world. There's only one king and his name is Jesus Christ. And we want to encourage you to be Jesus followers to be Jesus followers, not denominational followers. Not preacher followers, you know, not all that sort of stuff. It has its place and it is right. And it's good to follow a great preachers and teachers they're not coming out with sound doctrine. But when the denominations come away from sound doctrine, I gotta I gotta get out of there. I can't be found in these churches. I can't be
Simon Pinchbeck:found in the Churches been because where's it ad placement is now managed by assume you might Eagle don't you read beyond, beyond the pulpit you might, you know, cover your enemy will find it, find it because it says in Matthew 2531 He says, When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all His holy angels with him, then he will sit on his throne. Come on Jesus, all the nations will be gathered before they will separate them one from another. As a shepherd, the shepherd devises sheep from the goats. And they will the set the sheep on his right hand and the goats on his left. Then the King will say to those in his right and Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me food, I was thirsty, and you gave me drink cups a stranger and you told me, I was naked, you clothed me, I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison. And you came to me, Christ God, and so he, it will divide the sheep.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah, he's gonna divide it and the weight and the tear.
Simon Pinchbeck:I was gonna say that, and are you sourcing that? And what would you do with the tears? Or don't, Lord, please, proceed into the burning garden. And we have a situation I think in quite a few churches where you've got a little group of
Reverend Ben Cooper:believers, real believers sitting amongst this certain hosta see church sitting amongst this false prophets, all this sort of stuff? Do you imagine that they're really hungry, that are really hungry for Jesus, and they're frightened of leaving the church because they thought that they had been in that church for so long. They've been in there for so long. But then suddenly, God is opening our hearts and going it's not about the denomination. It's not about the structure, it is about me. And we need sound clear doctrines of grace coming over every pulpit we need serious messages about
Simon Pinchbeck:to be listened to listen to this out there we say this and we've said this time and time again if you if what is being preached in the in the place of worship doesn't marry up with scripture. Yeah, then you have every right to challenge the leader challenge 100% of every right that challenge and if you don't get the right answer, then you know Get out Get on your knees pray the Lord. Is this a place for me Lord, or is there another place for me because brilliant, come on, we got to be in a place that preaches the gospel and what we've seen and even in in in your church, but we've seen a lot of people leaving established churches to come to your place
Reverend Ben Cooper:yeah it's cheaper in the States. It has to be about Jesus and closing this wherever you are at this moment in time we thank God for your lives. You are a child of the living God follow Jesus that's all the advice we can ever give anybody is follow the King above all kings not this earthly king you know we are going to dip again hold Do you seatbelt I'd say do your spiritual seatbelt up get ready for a bumpy ride but we got to endure this we got to run the race God will give us the get the crown the prize you know he we will get to that place but we got to be enduring. We are going to debt is like a roller coaster. We're at the at the highest point in the moment. Do your seat belt up because when they anoint him and everything that goes out we are going to dip again. But God will carry us through to dip
Simon Pinchbeck:it gives us the strength then it will give us the strength Hey Miss Son, Jesus Christ. And we've it's not about a robes. It's not about reputation. It's not about about the pulpit. It's not about it's about Jesus Christ and and His teaching and His following. So we'd invite you out there, you know, just to have a little look and see ya while you're watching online and what you're where you're going to worship. And it's a time when we got to question everything, where we're at what we're doing what we're seeing, and stand up for Jesus and what we just what we just leap out just to remind you that the for next couple of weeks won't be here. We were back here on the 25th they'll still be loads of pasta last guy to jump on if you wanted to jump onto the normal podcast. But we'll, we'll recess in a couple of weeks, but it's been great to be with you again. And don't forget, Patreon.
Reverend Ben Cooper:We're jumping on the Patreon exclusive content, all that sort of stuff breaking out on there.
