We've got 15 minutes , so , without further ado , let's open up the word of god and we are going to the book of psalms 119 . Psalms

Speaker 1My soul . This is what the scripture says in verse 28 of psalm 119 . My soul is weary with sorrow . Oh , that sounds a bit strong , doesn't it ? For this hour , verse 28 , psalms 119 my soul feels weary with sorrow . Strengthen me , according to your word . I love that . I love that scripture .
Speaker 1When you think about this scripture , psalm 119 , verse 28 what a beautiful start to the hour . My soul is weary with sorrow . You know , that reminds me of the Lord , jesus Christ , when he was in the Garden of Gethsemane . It says my mind , my body , my being is overwhelmed with sorrow . The Bible says that Jesus was known as a man of sorrow . So it's okay to have the sorrow , but what I cannot allow is the sorrow to have me . It's okay to have a bad hair day , let's put it like this . It's okay to find days a little bit awkward and a little bit tricky in certain areas of life . Sorrow is a very interesting word . So when we look at it through scripture , jesus had sorrow . The Bible says that he was a man of sorrow . But this writer , the writer of Psalm 119 , verse 28, .
Speaker 1David , king David . When you look at David's life , if you want to study a character , a great character to study is David . You know a great study , devotional time looking at the life and the character of David . What a man and what I mean by that . What an unusual character he was . He experienced every scenario under sun . He went for every situation under the sun , but God never left him . God strengthened him , god challenged him , god stripped him back , but David came through . So whatever is going on in your life at this moment in time , you will come through . Maybe this morning , maybe this afternoon , maybe this evening or whenever .
Speaker 1You're listening to this devotional podcast , maybe you feel very sorrowful at the moment and it says my soul is weary . That's a lovely word , isn't it ? God , dear Lord , that's a lovely word , isn't it ? God , dear lord , that's a powerful word . Weary lord .
Speaker 1I often feel weary when I analyze this time , this text . You know , and the times I'm feeling weary . At this moment in time , I'm feeling run down . I'm feeling that maybe a little bit exhausted . Are we spinning too many plates in the room of life ? Have we got too many things going on ? Have you had a busy day ? Has it been a church day ? Is it a work day ? Is it the evening ? Is it the morning , is it the midday ? What is the hour where you are ? How are you feeling at this time ?
Speaker 1Now ,
these scriptures give me a little bit of a spiritual boost . To be fair , to be honest with you , because you know the church the church in the West , the church in the west , the church in the uk especially doesn't deal with the the nuts and the bolts of real life situations . It doesn't deal with sorrow , it doesn't deal with fear , it doesn't deal with anguish and worry and uncertainty . It seems to dress things up and it wants to make everything okay by not dealing with the situation . But I want to tell you now , if you feel sorry for , if you feel doubtful , if you're feeling weary and tired , the Lord is with you . You've only got to look at the great story of Jesus Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane . He says my soul is overwhelmed with sorrow . Jesus , this is Jesus . We're talking about Jesus . You know who I'm talking about . We're talking about the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords . And he was in the garden of Gethsemane . He said to the father if it is possible , take this cup from me . You know , jesus wanted to swerve it . I call it the 50-50 garden . He wanted to swerve that .
Speaker 1So in this devotional time this morning , as we're going to come to some prayer right now . Let's pray that , if we are feeling weary and we are bogged down with sorrow , that the Lord will strengthen us according to his word . Father , we come to you on this day , lord , on this hour , this moment , wherever we are across this world , and , father , we pray that the fire of God and the love of the Holy Spirit and your presence will strengthen us . Lord , will your word ? Yes , your word will yes , your power will yes , your love will . Father , we ask you right now , wherever we are across this world , that you will strengthen us and encourage us and your word will lead us by your spirit , by your spirit , lord . So today , lord , in this prayer time , lord , I come to you as a Bible-believing believer , lord , and I ask you , father , that you will strengthen each and every one of us , that the love of God will take away the sorrowful feeling , the weary feeling , the doubtful feeling , the fury of uncertainty . Lord , there are many theories , you know there are many theories out there , and tonight , today , this hour , wherever you are , I pray that the Lord will strengthen you and the Holy Spirit will lead you and the God of Israel .
Speaker 1Through this prayer time , holy Spirit , will you strengthen us , lord , will you bring us to a place of freedom , because I want to be away , lord , from feeling weary . I want to find a place where I can stand strong on the gospel of hope . Lord , I'm tired because work is wearing me down , life is wearing me down . Fear , lord , the lack of Father . Will you help me to deal with the lack of the thought , the anxiety , the worry , the uncertainty ? Lord , I know what the Bible says , but through this prayer time , will you help me to live by faith Because , lord , I don't want to feel sorrowful , I don't want my soul to be overwhelmed . Lord , I need you to strengthen me according to your word .
Speaker 1So , lord , through this prayer time , strengthen me according to your word , carry me according to your word , carry me according to your word . Father , let your love just be wrapped around my brothers and sisters across the world today , that they will feel the love of God , the Holy Spirit , the power of God in their lives . That they will feel the refreshing wind of the Holy Spirit just against them right now , encouraging them , driving them , healing them , releasing them . Spirit of the living God , will you make a way where there is no way , your word to strengthen us , your word to guide us , your word to heal us , your word to take us to new pastures , new beginnings . Lord , as we pray together right now , across the world , maybe at the beginning of the the world , maybe at the beginning of the day , maybe at the middle of the day , at the end of the day , wherever we are now in the time zone of life , will you , lord , god , strengthen us according to your word , because each and every one of us needs strengthening , each and every one of us needs a fresh infilling , each and every one of us needs your anointing , each and every one of us needs the leadingointing , each and every one of us needs the leading of the Holy Spirit . So , lord , will you come today , lord , and strengthen us , meet us where we are .
Speaker 1Lord , our practical needs are needing to be met . So , lord , you tell us that you supply all our needs according to thy riches and glory . And , lord , we need you to meet these needs . We need you , father , to meet these needs . Lord , and as we come to you , lord , father , we thank you that there is power . In the name of Jesus , lord , and as we rest in the arms of Christ , lord , as we trust you , as we lean into you , father , we thank you that the love of God is over each and every one of us . And , father , we are blessed and highly favoured , wonderfully and fearfully made . And today , lord , let the love of God strengthen us , let your power enrich our lives . Today , lord , wrap your arms around my brothers and sisters , wrap your love around them , wrap us up .
Speaker 1Today , lord , because there are many of us that are weary and we're frightened to talk about feeling weary in the church , because , lord , we're frightened of what people might say , because , lord , we seem to be given this understanding that we've got to be super human beings , super duper Christians . But , lord , I just feel weary and , lord , I just want to rest . So , so , lord , all those that need rest today , all those that need guidance today , I thank you , lord , that you're guiding them , you're strengthening them , lord , that your love is over them . Lord , you tell us come to me , all of you that are weary and heavily laden , and I will give you rest . Jesus will give you rest . Do you need rest today ? Wherever you are across this world , the love of the Father will give you rest .
Speaker 1So , through this prayer time , I pray for the Bible-believing , spirit-filled , blessed and highly favoured believers on this Christian devotional podcast that they will feel the presence of God's rest . I want to feel your rest today . I want to be strengthened in my innermost being . I want your word to take full control of my life , in the name of Jesus . I want , dear God , to feel the Holy Spirit , lord , burning in my stomach . I want , dear God , your word to come out like rivers of living water . Lord , I need to be strengthened . My bones are aching , my body is weary and I need your word to strengthen me because , lord , I've tried everything else , I've looked at everything else and I'm sorry , lord , I put your word aside .
Speaker 1So , father , bless us today , wherever we are . Lord , we thank you that you are meeting us today , lord , that you are meeting us today , lord , you're meeting our needs according to thy riches in glory . So , father , strengthen us , carry us , let there be healing over our lives , father , and let us feel your power , let us feel your anointing , let us feel your love , your mercy , your saving grace , lord , spirit of the living God . I come to you , lord , and I offer myself to you at this hour and I say , jesus , strengthen us , carry us , melt us , mold us , lift us , but strengthen us by the living word . Amen . May god bless his word .
You know , wherever you are , let's read this scripture again psalm 119 , verse 28 my soul is weary with sorrow . Strengthen me , according to your word . Isn't that a beautiful scripture to start this hour , to start this moment , to start this day . Wherever you are , to think that the word of the Lord is going to strengthen you , let's call on the name of Jesus today . Let's be really faithful in our words , let's really speak power over our lives , whatever it may be that's needed and required in your life . I pray that the fire of God will give you the faith and increase your faith , and , for myself too , that we will speak words of faith , words of wisdom over our lives . The word of God will strengthen you because the word of God tells you that he will strengthen you . The word of God has to strengthen you because he has said he will strengthen you .
Speaker 1So how do we get the word of God to strengthen us ? We say very simply Lord , I need your word to strengthen me today . I need your word to carry me . I need your word to lift me . I need your word , lord , to be wrapped around me . I need your word , father , to set me free .
Speaker 1So , holy Spirit , wherever we are , let your word be like living water . Let your word , father , refresh our souls today . Let your word refresh our spirit today . Let your word , lord , lift us and elevate us and carry us and anoint us . Let your word , father , speak directly deep into our spirit . Lord , Come , lord , you are worthy of all praise and we lift up in the name of Jesus .
Speaker 1But , lord , I need you in my life . Do you need Jesus today ? Do you need the living word to strengthen you ? Do you need the power of the Holy Spirit ? Let's be braggadocious , let's be bold , let's be strong .
Speaker 1Let's stand on the scripture today and say yes , lord , your word is going to strengthen me . I'm not going to be of sorrow , I'm not going to be of doubt , lord , I'm going to change my thinking , I'm going to change my vocabulary , lord . I'm going to speak words of faith , lord , because I don't want , lord , negative words to bring me down . I don't want negative words to hold me back . I want to speak words of faith in the name of Jesus . So I come to you today , lord , and I say yes , lord , by your power , by your word , by your strength , by your anointing Lord , through this unshakable daily Christian devotional podcast . You're changing me , lord , not because of Pastor Ben , not because of Reverend Ben , not because of Ben , but because of God . Your word is going to strengthen me , so strengthen all of us today , wherever we are scattered across this world . Father , we need you and we're calling on the greatest name in heaven and earth . So , wherever you are today , let's take stock of the scripture . Let's read it one more time .
Speaker 1The Bible says in Psalm 119 , verse 28 , my soul is weary with sorrow . Strengthen me , according to thy word . The word is with you . The word of God is inside of you . Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world
