Invitation to Home Communion

us on ? Buy Me A Coffee just three pound a month on rbchristianradionet Now , without further ado , let's do something completely different .

Speaker 1

Today , wherever you are , I want to get you to grab a little bit of bread and a little bit of wine juice or a bit of grape juice , whatever you've got there , because we're going to break bread together and welcome to communion at home . It is simple . This is straight out the studio . This is not edited , this is not fine-tuned in any way . You can hear a bit of noise in the background , but I'm going to break bread . I'm in the studio on my own , but I'm not on my own because you're with me . So the Bible says , where two or three are gathered there . I am in the midst

Breaking Bread Together

Speaker 1

. You know . This is the beauty of Jesus Christ . You know , are you in a church and what does the church look like that you're in ? Do you break bread at every service ? Because we should be doing that at every service . We do this here in this church every service , every uh live stream , every time we meet , you know , we break bread together and we just take at a cup . We don't make this great long religious service . What we do , we just do it according to the word of god . Jesus said as often as you come together in my name , do this , this . What are you doing , jesus ? He's getting a piece of bread and he's getting the third cup on the table , the Passover table , the cup of redemption . You know we are redeemed and let's come to the cross together in the name of Jesus .

Speaker 1

Maybe you haven't broken bread for a long time . Maybe there is something in your church , in your life , maybe there's something that is telling you that you're not worthy . That is

Taking the Cup of Redemption

Speaker 1

a lie . You are worthy . None of us is worthy , and you understand what I mean , but you are worthy . I am worthy because of him . That is why we are worthy . You know , none of us will ever be worthy enough to break bread and take it a cut without him , but with him . Maybe you haven't broken bread for a few weeks . Maybe you haven't had communion for a few weeks . Maybe you haven't taken another cup for a few weeks . Maybe church and religion has put you off . Maybe the priest or the minister has said you can't do this . That is not scripture .

Speaker 1

I need you right now to grab some bread and a little bit of grape juice and sit down and just spend this time with me me and you and god , as we get close to the cross . You know god is calling you and god is calling you by name . Right now , wherever you are , we , we're going to break bread . I've got this little piece of bread in front of me . I'm in this studio in London , in England . I'm on my own . You know I'm going to break bread and I'm going to take it a cut , but I'm not on my own because you are with me . Wherever you are , you are with me . You know we're in this beautiful kingdom of God , so let's break bread .

Speaker 1

Father , as I come to you , lord , maybe I haven't broken bread for a week , two weeks , a month , three months , six months , lord . Maybe I haven't broken bread for a really long time , jesus , but I thank you that time is irrelevant to you because you're just calling me to come to the cross today . And , lord , we break bread as the body of Christ . And , father , we thank you for this bread . It symbolizes your body that was broken for me at the cross of Calvary . And , lord , I just reflect in the scripture at this moment

Closing Blessings and Farewell

Speaker 1

and , father , I thank you that I am a sinner saved by grace and as I break this bread , together with my brothers and sisters around the world , I thank you that I am holding bread and I thank you for this bread because that's all it is . God is just bread and I thank you for this bread because that's all it is . God is just bread . And yes , lord , it is just bread . Whoever you are now listening , this is just bread , but it's what it symbolizes is the power . So , lord , I recognize that this bread symbolizes the body of Christ that was broken for me . So , lord , right now , I thank you that your body was broken and as I take this bread , I thank you that my sins are gone . In Jesus' name , amen .

Speaker 1

Let's take this cup , let's gather this cup . You know this cup . It's just wine , it's just grape juice , it's just Ribena , it's just a red coloured substance . That's all it is in the cup . But it's not what's in the substance of this cup . It's what Jesus said about the cup it is the redemption cup . So , come on , come on , my friends , wherever you are , come on , my brother and sister , let's break bread together . Now . We've broke bread , now we're going to take it a cup . Let's take it a cup together right now .

Speaker 1

Father , I thank you for this cup because it symbolizes the blood of Jesus . It symbolizes redemption . And , lord , I'm a sinner saved by grace , and I'm not worthy . I'm not worthy in my own , but I am worthy because he is worthy . So we are worthy . So those , lord that haven't taken a cup for a long time , lord , bring them into the fold , bring them into the sheep pen and let them know , lord , they're okay .

Speaker 1

So , sister and brother , wherever you are , let's take this cup now , the third cup on the pass over , not the first , not the second , not the fourth , but the third cup on the Passover table . And that third cup represented redemption . You are redeemed , I am redeemed . Let's take this cup . Lord , will you bless me ? Will you wash me and cleanse me in the blood of Jesus , from the crown of my head to the sole of my feet , in Jesus' name , amen . You know , it's that simple . It is so simple . Welcome to Communion at Home . Daily Christian prayer podcast . So simple . My name's Reverend Ben Cooper , your five-minute connection with God's word and his presence , recorded here in London , england . May God bless you wherever you are and once again we will see you tomorrow . Never give up . God is with you , god bless .
