Speaker 0We are going to go to the book of Luke , chapter 22 , 42 . So wherever you are at this moment in time , just go to the book of Luke , chapter 22 , verse 42 . And it's about surrender . I believe that this is probably the most difficult thing for us to do as Bible believing believers , wherever we are across the world , is to come to a place of surrender . So the scripture says in luke , chapter 22 , verse 42 not my will but your will be done , father . We come to you today , lord , and will you help us to surrender ? Lord , lord , I want to lose complete control of my hands to my life and , lord , I ask you right now that , lord , that you will take away my hands , lord , that I will not be in control of my life . But , lord , you are the father of fathers , you are the great I am . So , lord , as I come to surrender today , lord , we pray for each and every one of us . Lord , not my will , but your will be done . So , lord , we thank you that it is the will of the father , that the will of the king of Kings and the Lord of Lords . So , jesus , will you help us today ? Not my will , but your will be done . So , lord , whatever that looks like , father , we are living in a world that is so fast , that is so furious , lord , we're living in a world that is so difficult , lord , to take our hands off the steering wheel of life and , lord , to surrender . Lord , it's going to take everything I've got , it's going to take everything that we have . Lord , to choose you rather than to choose my way . Lord , not because I want to come away from salvation , not because I want to come away from the word of God . It's because , lord , we're living in a world that is so controlling and so fast . So , lord , I want us to surrender to you today ,
so far . So , lord , I want us to surrender to you today .
Speaker 0So , wherever we are , we pray that we will surrender to the will of the father , the son and the holy spirit , and just as christ was in the garden of gethsemane , father , please , not my will , but your will , be done . So , jesus , we come to you , lord , we just lay out across the floor of life and we choose . We choose to rely on your strength , not our own . We choose to follow you , not in our own will , but your will . So , father , may our life reflect the complete trust and obedience to you . So , father , will you pour out your spirit , lord , where I'm weak and where I'm tired and where I'm exhausted .
Speaker 0Father , we pray that the love of jesus christ will be so strong over our lives that we will surrender . We'll surrender at work , we'll surrender at home , we'll surrender our family , our friends , lord , not just each and every one of us , but , lord as a community , as the body of christ . Help us , lord , to let go of self . Lord , where I cannot change , you can change me . So , spirit of the living God , as we surrender to you , today , as we lift up the name of Jesus , lord , as we just rest in the arms of Christ Lord , let this be a day that this is the day that the Lord has made . I shall rejoice and be glad . Spirit of the living God , we open you , open our hearts , lord , will you move in our lives ? Will you , lord , god , throw open the floodgates of heaven ? Will you show us your glory ? You are the king of glory , lord .
Speaker 0So today , lord , we recognize that Luke , chapter 22 , verse 42 , is a place that I need to get to . Not my will , but yours , be done , spirit of the living God , today's the day when we surrender , today's the day when we come to you . Jesus , help me . Will you help us today , lord , remove my fear and replace it with faith in you . Holy Spirit , guide me and make decisions that I will be able to lead right now , in the name of Jesus . Lord , you are a good God and a powerful God and Lord , as we rest in you , spirit of the Living God , will
you just come and refresh us today through this five-minute quick-fired prayer time , in this devotional prayer that we're having today , lord . So , father , in this moment , will you teach me to trust in your timings , will you teach me to trust in your plan ? So , father , we thank you for everyone listening today , wherever they are across the world , but help all of us trust in you and not lean on our own understanding .
