Speaker 1Today's prayer , this five minute quick fire prayer , is coming from psalm 42 , verse one , and the title is prayingaying for Longing Hearts . As the deer pants for the streams of water , so my soul longs after you , my God . You know , brother and sister , are you thirsty for God ? Let's get straight into prayer . Wherever you are right now , whatever your time zone is , we are going to pray together . Lord , deepen my hunger and my thirst for your presence , lord , as we come before you , as we stand on the threshold of another hour , another day , another moment , lord , draw my heart closer to you each day . Lord , we want to go deeper . We're hungry , we're thirsty for your presence . Draw us , each and every one of us , draw us closer to you , in the mighty name of jesus christ . Lord , this is really important to me . Can you please remove the distractions that keep me from seeking you because , lord , as the deer pants for the streams , so my soul longs after you , my god and my king , and we pray through psalm 42 , verse 1 lord , we want to go deeper , we're hungry , we want waters , we want rivers of living water , we want your glory , your presence , your love , your mercy .
But , lord , the biggest distraction that we may have is social media . Father , it's stopping us from getting to you . I know , lord , it has no forbearance on my salvation , but , lord , can you help me to lay social media down and to have more time with you ? Because , lord , social media gets me irritated , lord , it gets me scrolling for hours and , lord , all I want is my presence , to be with your presence , lord . So today , will you help the biggest distraction that we have in our lives ? Will you remove it in the name of Jesus .
Speaker 1But , lord , I want my soul to be satisfied with living water , with your spirit , with your presence . Teach me , teach me to long for you . Teach me , lord , to stretch out for you more than anything else in my life . Heal the emptiness in my heart today
, lord . If any of us are empty , if any of our hearts are empty , lord , will you fill that void , that vacuum , with the love of God . Please , god , heal , strengthen , fill the emptiness in our hearts with your love and your goodness and your grace , and your goodness and your grace and your favor . Lord , keep me focused , fix my eyes on eternal things and not on temporary ones . Refresh my spirit when I feel dry and weary . Let my deepest hunger and desire always be for you , in the name of Jesus . Lord .
