We're in the book of ecclesiastes , chapter one , verse two , and this is a really , really interesting , uh bit of scripture . But do you feel like this ? Do you feel like this today ? Because I do . Do you feel like everything is meaningless ? This is the scripture we're in . We're in the book of ecclesiastes , chapter 1 , verse 2 . Meaningless , meaningless , says the teacher . Utter meaningless , everything is meaningless . Ecclesiastes , chapter 1 , verse 2 , father , in the name of Jesus , I feel like this today . I feel like Lord . What is the point ? But , lord , through this prayer time , lord , I've got to shake this off . I've got to shake this feeling off today . And , lord , I pray as my brothers and sisters as we lock shields of hope , as we lock shields of faith , as we lock arms around the world in prayer today , on our commute , lord , on the school run . Lord , as we get out of bed right now . Of faith , as we lock arms around the world in prayer today on our commute , lord , on the school run . Lord , as we get out of bed . Right now , lord , as we live life , as we go into ministry , as we're going to the gym , as we're commuting . Lord , wherever we are .
Speaker 0Spirit of the Living God . Why do I feel that everything is meaningless ? Help me , god , give me more faith , give me more hope . Spirit of the Living God , cut the umbilical cord to that word meaningless . Spirit of the living God , give me faith like I've never experienced it today . Give us faith today like we've never experienced it today .
Speaker 0Lord , I don't want to have the feeling of there's nothing worth doing . Lord , I don't want this meaningless feeling . I don't want the humdrum feeling , lord , of life . I don't want the same heartbeat every day . Lord , I want a rhythm of heaven . Lord , I want you to change the rhythm of my life . I want new beginnings . I want the old gone , I want the new to come . Lord , I want to see miracles . I want to see your power . Lord , I don't want to be entrenched in that word Meaningless , meaningless . Nothing is worth doing .
Speaker 0Spirit of the living God , I pray today , lord , that you will give us the understanding of the purpose of our lives .
Speaker 0Why are we here ? What are we doing ? Lord , open our spiritual eyes today and give us the faith to see what you see . Give us the understanding not to look at the world and to look at the meaningless tasks that we are involved in . Spirit of the living God , give us that purpose , that fulfillment that we need . Lord , we want to feel the fulfillment in Christ . Lord , we want to find joy simply in the blessings of the word of God .
Speaker 0Lord , we pray for wisdom today . We pray for the wisdom of God that we won't look at that scripture and think what is the point . Lord , will you help us , will you fill us up ? Today , when life feels empty , lord , I pray for my sisters and my brothers and myself . If I find , if we find that life feels empty and meaningless . Lord , will you take that feeling away ? Lord , I don't want to live like this .
Speaker 0Lord , clarity in God's calling . I need clarity through your word . I need strength to resist the worldly pursuits . Lord , I don't want to pursue the meaningless things in the world . I want to pursue the word of God . I want to pursue the king of kings and lord of lords . Lord , as you told the disciples at the shoreline of Galilee drop your nets , come and follow me . Lord , I want to follow the King . I want to follow Jesus . I've got to follow Jesus . I can't follow worldly pursuits . They're boring , they're empty , they cost money . Lord , they're weary , they're tiring . Lord , I don't want this meaningless feeling over me . I want freedom .
Speaker 0In the name of Jesus , lord , and I thank you for my daily life . Give me my daily bread today . Give me daily bread in the name of Jesus . Lord , help me to find contentment , lord , in the season that I'm walking in . Help me to find the meaning of the calling of my life . Help us to find the calling and the meaning of our life . Father , help us to break out of religion , to break out of the area , dear God , of familiar territory . And Lord , let us , lord , walk by faith . Lord , help us to walk by faith . In the name of Jesus . We need your presence , we need your glory , we need that love , we need that mercy , but , lord , as we just rest in the house of the Lord today , wherever we are , lord , as we have prayed through Ecclesiastes , chapter one , verse two meaningless , meaningless , says the teacher . Utter meaningless . Everything is meaningless .
Speaker 0Sister and brother , let's turn that scripture into hope today . Let's turn that into do you know what ? It is so true , the word of God is so true , and I'm going to turn my life into a purpose , a purpose driven life for Jesus . Go out and follow Jesus , get the word of God in your spirit , get prayer on your heart when you're feeling down and you're feeling lost , don't allow the humdrum of life to tell you everything is meaningless .
