My friend, my brother, my sister, wherever you are, we are gonna pray today for peace and stillness. Do you feel agitated today? Do you feel lost today? Do you feel that there's no purpose? I gotta pray with you, and you're gonna pray with me. Maybe you're too tired, maybe you can't pray, maybe you don't know how to pray. Sister and brother, I want to urge you right now to get into prayer. When you're driving, when you're commuting, come on. Will you jump in with me today? Will you jump in the scrum? Let's get down and let's get mucky and let's get dirty on the rugby field of life. We're
in the Gospel of John 14, 27. Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. Father, I want to emphasize on that scripture there. Lord, I want to tell my heart and I want to tell all the listeners' hearts. Do not let your hearts be troubled. Do not be afraid. Lord, that word is a big word to me, afraid. Lord, that is a gliof of a word that I have a challenge of, of being fearful of. Because Lord, when we're out on the road, it feels lonely. Lord, when we're out, dear God, it feels lonely. Even when we're in a crowd, even when we're in church or ministry, we still feel lonely, Lord, and we can feel afraid. Lord, we don't even need to be in an office on our own. We can be in a massive environment and still feel lonely and still feel afraid. Lord, you tell us that you don't give as the world gives. Lord, you tell us that you give peace. Lord, you tell us in the Gospel of John 14, 27, peace I leave with you. Lord, please deposit this peace that will literally smash the devil's worries.
Father, in the name of Jesus, we're exhausted. We're worn out. We're on the treadmill right now. And Lord, we're running so fast our laces are coming undone. Lord, we're scared that we ain't gonna be able to stop this machine. This treadmill, dear God, has got a mind of its own. This world has got a mind of its own. Lord, this treadmill
is driven. Lord, and it's so fast, the treadmill of life. Lord, and I don't have the stamina and I don't have the pace to keep this going. Lord, if I stop and slow down, Lord, I'm gonna crumble and I'm gonna fall. But Lord, you tell us, Father, to keep walking. So Lord, I ask you, dear God, that you will keep the listeners walking. Lord, that you will keep them moving on the treadmill of life. Lord, that they won't give up. And Lord, you're telling us, do not let your hearts be troubled. But Lord, I've got to be honest. Sometimes I don't know how to stop worrying. I don't know what to do. I'm just a human being, Lord, with many idiosyncrasies, with many buckets of troubles around me. But Lord, on the treadmill of life, Lord, this machine of this treadmill, Father, it's just going at such a pace, and we can't keep up. Lord, we've got fatigue. We've got spiritual fatigue, Lord. We're exhausted. We can't keep up this pace. Lord, we need you to open the door. Father, pull the plug on this treadmill. Lord, I can't reach that plug because Lord,
I can't stop running. But Lord, only you can pull the plug for me. Lord, you've got to pull the plug and slow this machine down because Lord, I don't have the pace and I can't keep it going anymore. Lord, help us to calm. Bring calm to our hearts, Lord, in our workplace, in our families, in relationships, in home, in life, in ministry, in church. Father, we believe that Romans 8.28. Lord, we believe that Romans 8.28 is for us as well today. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him. Father, we might be lost. So we might be in Cape Town. We might be in Australia. We might be in Auckland. We might be in New Zealand. We might be in Afghanistan, Iran. We might be in London. Wherever we are, we need you, Jesus.
So Lord, we pray against conflicts, emotional storms that are raging so fast. Lord, calm those storms down. We need peace. Leave us this peace today, Lord. And Lord, we pray that you will settle anxious thoughts. Lord, we're praying for rest during sleepless nights. We're praying for stillness of mind and emotions. We're praying for calm with internal storms. We're praying, dear God, for clarity when we're troubled. We're praying for reassurance in uncertain hours. We're praying for the Holy Spirit to quieten our hearts. We're praying for release from mental exhaustion. We're praying for confidence in God's working power. We need the supernatural power of God. We need the love of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. Today, Lord, we want more Holy Spirit. Today we want more of the God of Israel. Today we want more of Jesus. Father, we want more of the deity, the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. Lord, we
need supernatural intervention in our lives. And today, Lord, we call it down. Enough is enough, Lord. And we come to you right now. Lord, we don't want to keep going through the fiery furnace. We're tired of the trials and the tribulations. I want the joy of the Lord. And sister and brother, I pray that the joy of the Lord will be your strength today. My name's Reverend Ben Cooper.
