Welcome to this Thursday night special. My name's Reverend Van Coper. As we gather around the Word of God, we're going to go to 1 Corinthians chapter 11, verse 23 and 26. This is communion at home. We welcome you in wherever you are in the greatest name in heaven and earth. And we want to invite you around the Lord's Supper. We want to break bread together. We want to take out a cup together and the covenant of Christ.
You know, remembering across the nations, you know, we can do this at home. Breaking the bread at home, communion at home, you know, global communion at home. Father, in the name of Jesus, I invite the listeners right now to prepare themselves, to get ready, to get a bit of bread at home, to get themselves a bit of grape juice, a bit of wine, Father God, as the bread represents the body of Christ and the grape juice, uh, whatever it is, ribena represents the blood of Jesus. So, Father, we pray for global community at home right now in the name of Jesus. The Lord's Supper. We pray, Lord, for serious breakthrough right now. We believe wherever we are gathering for this Thursday evening special, for this special night gathering around the Passover table. I pray for those that are gathering with families. I pray for those that are gathering in prayer groups. I pray for those that are being on their own wherever they are. Father, we thank you that we are locking in as brothers and sisters around the world, from London to New York, from New York to Manila, from Manila to St. Paolo, St. Paolo to Sydney, Lord, wherever we are across the world, we pray for those that are joining us right now in troubled war zones. We pray for those, dear God, in the comfort of their homes. We pray for the prayer groups. But right now, we believe that we're able to do this because we're coming under the instruction of the Bible. Lord, we are not coming under instruction of religion, but Lord, we are in the
Word of God. And we go right the way back through Exodus. We go right back to Exodus chapter 12, Lord, of the birth, the per the birth of the Passover, the Passover Lamb. You gave clear instruction for the generations to come to take of the lamb and to put the blood of the lamb over the doorpost, over the lintels of the house. And Father, we thank you that Jesus Christ is the sacrifice, the lamb that was slain. And Father, we break bread together when Christ brought that to fulfillment in the upper room where he prayed with the brothers and he broke bread together and he said, This is my body. I've been eager to do this. I can't wait to do this with you. Father, I thank you that Jesus fulfilled the scriptures. I thank you in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus said, Not my will, but thy will be done. Lord, when he said, If it's possible to take this cup from me, we know that it was the third cup of redemption. He was saying, Take this cup of redemption, because I don't and I can't do this, but whatever your will is. And when Jesus was gathered around the Passover table, he said, This is the cup. This cup is the cup of a new covenant. Father, as my brothers and sisters, as we gather, dear God, in ones and twos, threes and tens, Lord, in large people gathering together wherever we are. Father, we thank you that we hold until 1 Corinthians chapter 11, verse 23 to 6, 26.
This is my body. This cup is a new covenant in my blood. Do this in remembrance of me. Father, we come to you right now and we recognize right now across the world. And Lord, we get this bread. Lord, we got a bit of bread, Father. Sisters and brothers, we got a little bit of bread here, and we got a cup, a tiny cup of uh just ribena. And Lord, I want to thank you that this bread, this bit of pit of bread that we got here, Father, it represents the body of Christ. And Lord, this little cup that I've got, Lord, this swig, dear God, of ribena, it represents the blood of Jesus. And Lord, I want to thank you, Lord, that I'm not doing it because I'm religious. I'm doing it because the good book tells me. So Lord, right now across the world, as we search, dear God, communion at home, Lord, the breaking of bread at home, the Lord's supper at home, Lord, this Passover, this time, this message, we thank you that this global word is for us right now. Wherever we are gathering across nations, Lord, we welcome those to the gathering of the round the table as we gather with gratitude, reverence, and humility. Love, Lord, I pray for my life. Lord, will you will your dear God have mercy on my soul? Lord, I believe that this
bread represents the body of Christ. And as I hold this right now in my hand, Lord, this bread is symbolic to the body of Jesus. And I thank you that your body was broken. And as I break this bread with my brothers and sisters across the world, Lord, I thank you, Father, Lord. I thank you that we are able to do this through the power of technology. I thank you that we're able to do this through the power, dear God, of the internet, through social media. I thank you for these ways that we can break bread together, that we are doing it in remembrance of thee. So Lord, we take this bread right now and we pause a minute. And Father, I thank you for this bread because it symbolizes the body of Christ. Amen. Father, I thank you for that bread. But Lord, I want to thank you right now for this cup of redemption. And Lord, I'm a sinner, but I'm saved by grace. Lord, my life's not right, but I want it to be right. And Lord, the only way it's gonna get it right is Lord, if I keep coming to the cross and I say, Lord, help me. Lord, I ask you for a fresh awakening of the Holy Spirit to restore my life and my energy. Lord, I want to walk like Jesus. I want to walk, dear God, in purity. I want to walk in freedom and hope. I'm so hungry for that, Lord, but my life is blotted with sin, with worry, with fear, with arrogance, with doubt, with uncertainty. So, Father, I need, dear God, those blots gone. Lord, I need those splashes of sin wiped out in the name of Jesus. And Lord, as I look at this white t-shirt I wear, Lord, I see these blots on this t-shirt. I'm covered, dear God, in marks. And Lord, I want these marks to go. And there's only one way, and that is the blood of Jesus. I'm a sinner saved by grace. I'm not worthy of salvation, but he loves us so much. And I want to invite you in right now to hold this cup a moment and just pray this prayer with me. Father, I know, dear God, I'm not worthy. But no one is worthy on this world. Lord, will you deal with my unforgiveness? Will you deal with my arrogance? Will you deal with this bitterness? Lord, I can't carry this anymore. Lord, I don't want, dear God, to live this mucky life. I want to live free. I don't want to live in sin. I want to live in righteousness. Lord, I want to live free from pain and worry and doubt. So Lord, I believe this cup of redemption is for every one of us tonight. And as we hold this cup of ribena, this cup of redemption, as we take this now, Jesus, together or on our own, I believe that you are cleansing me from the crown of my head to the sole of my feet. Wash me now. Cover me in the blood of Jesus. Sister and brother, take your time, take this cup together. Father, cleanse me from the crown of my head to the sole of my feet in Jesus' name. Amen. Father, I thank you for the bread of life. I thank you for the cup of redemption. And Lord, I thank you, dear God, that we are cleansed. It's not, dear God, by work so that no one can boast. It's by grace we have been saved.
So Father, as we clock out of this time together, we thank you for these moments that we've been able to pray together, to stand together, and to feel that we're not alone on this Thursday night special, this global community at home. As we broke bread at the Lord's Supper, the bread, the cup, and the covenant of Christ, redemption is over you, sister and brother. We've made it not because of us, but because of Jesus. He loves you. He loves you so much. He sent his one and only Son. I'll prove it. John 3 16, for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only begotten Son, that whosoever shall believe in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. I pray John 3.16 over your life and the love of Jesus in your heart. Never give
