Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself, Reverend Ben Cooper. The joy of the Lord is over our lives. Whatever of a day we've had. What have you gone through today? Good morning, good evening, good afternoon. It is the night hour. We are approaching. It is 10 p.m.
live here in London, England. The sun has set on the UK. It has been raining. It is cold. The weather is atrocious here in London, England. Wherever you are, Jesus Christ is with you. I pray that the sun shines on your life. I pray that you will feel the warmth of the sun. I pray that you will feel the love of Jesus Christ
in your life. We're going to pray straight out of the barrel of truth. We're coming out of Psalm 91, verse 16. And the title of this prayer at this hour is Jesus, restore my joy tonight and pour quiet rest over my
spirit. Father, from the four corners of the world, we simply come to you. Because, Lord, we've had, dear God, a day and a half. Lord, we've had a stretch today. Lord, we're tired. We're weary. Lord, we haven't had nothing to week. Lord, it's been a long old stretch today. We're weary, we're tired, we've got a bit of fatigue. Lord, we need some emotional healing. Lord, we need the peace of Jesus. Lord, we need deep rest. Lord, restore all of our joy. Father, I thank you that the battle belongs to the Lord. But Lord, I don't even want to face the Goliaths of life. Lord, I'm not even interested in going down to the battlefield. Lord, I don't even want to get onto the plains of Jericho and look at the size of Jericho. Lord, I don't want to engage with anything of the world. Lord, I'm tired of social media. I'm tired, dear God, of the news channels. We're tired of the political agenda.
We're tired of, dear God, what's happening in the monarchy at the moment in the UK. Lord, we need the love of God. Father, we're tired of the news. We're tired of the rhythm of the world. And Lord, I want you to pour your spirit into our hearts so our heart overflows. Lord, we want an overflow tonight. Lord Jesus, restore my joy tonight and pour quiet rest over my spirit. Father, we believe in miracles. And from the battles that we've gone through from today, from the commute run to the school run to every area of life, dear God, I thank you, Father, that you are with us right now, wherever we are scattered. For those, dear God, that are laying in bed, bless them. For those that are still driving, bless them. For those that are cooking, washing and
cleaning, bless them. Wherever the human beings are listening to the sound of my voice, I pray that the fire of God, the love of God, the beauty and the majesty of Jesus Christ from the four corners of this world, all the way, dear God, to Israel, from Israel to Brazil. Spirit of the living God, will you touch our hearts? Father, whatever we have battled today, whatever skirmishes we've gone through, Lord, it feels like, Lord, we've been in a battle for the majority of our life. Lord, we got battle fatigue, we got emotional fatigue. We want this joy, Lord. We want to feel joy. Lord, we want our hearts to smile. And Father, we thank you that the joy of the Lord is our strength. And Lord, I pray that we will get in the word of God. Lord, we'll open up that paperback version of the word. We'll turn to the Psalms and we'll read Psalm 91 and we'll get in the rhythm of Psalm. Then we'll turn to Matthew 6. We'll read the Lord's Prayer. Father, then we'll go to the beautiful book of Psalm 23. The Lord is my shepherd. Father, I pray that we will read the word, sitting in the stillness. Father, sitting on the bed, sitting at the breakfast bar, sitting in the calf, dear God, having a cheeky cup of coffee, just reading the word of God.
I pray that the fire of God, the love of God, wherever my brothers and sisters are at this hour, listening to my voice, I pray that you will feel the blessings of God, that you will feel the joy of the Lord, whatever you've gone through today, as the sun has definitely set here in London, England, as the sun may be rising in
your life. Whoever you are, never give up. Jesus, restore my joy tonight and pour quiet rest over my spirit. I'll catch you soon. God bless.
