Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself, Reverend Ben Cooper, recorded live here in London, England, where the world gathers for five minutes of faith, love, hope, and strength. If you've got a prayer request, whatever your hour, whatever your time zone, hit us in the studio, which is info at dailyprayer.uk. That is info at dailyprayer.uk. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, wherever you are. My name is Reverend Ben Cooper. We should know that by now. And wherever you are across this beautiful Maltese of a world, God is with every one of us.
Come on, there are some crazy things happening on the news, especially live here in London, England, and I think we know what we're talking about. The Lord God is moving in mysterious ways, and right now, God is calling us to prayer. We cannot lock on to what the world is doing and what the world is saying. We've got to be focused on Jesus Christ. This is the time where we've got to take our head out of what the world is doing and we've got to be focused on Jesus. If you're on the commute run right now, if you're at home cooking for the family, if you're just living life, whatever you are doing, I pray that the love of God is over you. But we will not worry and we will not panic about what we
see on the news. We've got to just step back for a moment, draw breath, and say, Lord, get me in the rhythm of the word. We're going to pray and we're praying out of Psalm 91 verse 14. And it is Jesus, hold my heart firm. When evening brings, its quiet weight upon me. Jesus, hold my heart firm. When evening brings, its quiet weight upon me. Father, I thank you that you are a rescuer, you are a protector. And Lord, we thank you for Psalm 91, verse 14. But Lord, when we look across the world and Lord, we watch the rhythm of social media, we watch the news channels, we listen to the radio, we see what's happening, dear God, with our eyes around the world. Father, I pray that we won't get in a fear posture. But Lord, that we will step back, we will breathe, and we will say, Jesus. Holy Spirit, Jesus. Holy Spirit, will you carry me? Because Lord, what I see across
the world is quite scary. And Lord, what I listen to is quite scary. Lord, I don't want to get into the rhythm of being in a fear position because of what the world and the news is saying. Lord, my life is heavy enough, let alone carrying the weight of the world. So Jesus, right now, will you declutter my mind? Lord, we've had a long day at work, a long day at school, a long day at home. We've had a long life, actually, Jesus. And Lord, we've come through battles. We've come through trials and tribulations. Father, we've come through the valley of the shadow of death. We've walked through the valley of Bacchar for years and hours. Father, we've carried, dear God, luggage. We've carried people. We've carried situations. And Lord, we got to leave it at the cross because Lord, we got fatigue. Lord, we're tired. We're emotionally worn. And right now I pray for this late-day fatigue that it will go. Emotional weariness. Father, I pray that you will give us divine comfort wherever we are. Lord, if we're on the commute home, Lord, if the sun is rising, if the sun is setting, Lord, if we're resting, if we've just got in the house and closed the front door and we've thrown ourselves on the sofa. Lord God, if we're crying, if we're laughing, if we're at work, however the rhythm of our life is, Father, we just need you. Father, we need you as we look at the world,
we watch the way of the world, the waves of the world. Father, the the waves that come crashing in, the news channels, the fear, the worry, the doubt, what we're hearing live here in London, England, out of the news channels across the nation, Father, in every nation, every tribe, every tongue. Father, there seems to be such an unsettling move at this moment. And Lord, we need the rhythm of God. And Father, whatever battles, whatever rhythms, whatever tribe, whatever tongue, Father, wherever we are, from the four corners of the world, all the way right here, from live London, all the way to Chicago, all the way from Chicago to Canada, from Canada, dear God, to America, from America all the way to Australia, dear God, right out in the outer Hebrides. Father, let the Spirit of the Lord come, Jesus, wherever we are scattered, however we listen to my voice, whatever platform, whatever rhythm that may be, Jesus, we believe that you are with us. So God, hold my heart firm. When evening brings its quiet weight upon me, Lord, we don't want the weight of the evening. Lord, we want to leave the work troubles at work. We want to leave the church troubles at church. We want to leave life troubles outside of our lives. And Father, we want to get home. We want to be on that commute. We want to be, dear God, in church, in a peaceful position. Holy Spirit, wherever we are, from the battlefield to the boardroom, from the boardroom to the Passover table, from the Passover table to the shopping trolley, to the scaffold, to the work situation, to the shop floor, wherever we are, God, I need you. Whatever happens around me right now, Lord, I need your comfort. You tell us that you are the God of all comfort. And will you comfort us in our troubles? The Bible says in 2 Corinthians chapter 1, verses 3 and 4, as we pedal out of this prayer, the God of all comfort comforts us. We're in trouble. Lord, we're in trouble. We are in trouble, Jesus, and we need our God.
May the Spirit of the Lord be over you at this hour. Whatever you are doing, wherever you are, get into the word of God and let's get to the cross of Calvary. Holy Spirit, bless the listeners wherever they are scattered around the world. May the God that we serve be with you. See you soon. Don't go too far.
