Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself, Reverend Ben Cooper. Wherever you are in the world, thank you for making daily prayer part of your life and part of your day. Are you tired? Are you weary? What sort of a day you had? We're gonna just wrestle with prayer just a little bit longer because sometimes that's what
it is. We're wrestling in prayer. It takes everything we got, we're tired and we're weary, and sometimes we don't even know how to pray and we're exhausted. If you ever get like that, I would encourage you to go to the book of uh Matthew, chapter six, and just read the Lord's Prayer. Just read that through because sometimes we're so tired, you know, we get tongue-tied. Like you hear me sometimes. You know, I get so tired, I struggle for the words and the vocabulary. You know, God is with us wherever we are. Prayer is powerful and prayer is changing our lives. God loves you. That's what I know 100% for sure.
Without further ado, we're in Psalm 4, verse 8. This is the title. Jesus, give me peaceful rest through this night. Holy Spirit, give us a peaceful rest through this night. Father, I thank you to everybody
under the sound of my voice. And Lord, I pray, Lord, as we gather for prayer. Lord, as we're on a journey, Lord God, brothers and sisters around the world, men and women together, Lord, whatever our age, whatever our culture, whatever our standpoint is, whoever we are and wherever we're from, Father, one thing is for sure, we belong to Jesus Christ. And I thank you for the four corners of this world, Lord, for the battle stations of this world, to every scenario, from every sunset to every sunrise. We are asking you, dear God, from every rainfall to every summer season, from the summer seasons to the spring to the winter to the autumn hours. Father, we pray that Jesus give me peace tonight. Holy Spirit, it's been a long day at work. The kids have driven me mad. Lord, I am worn, I am tired. Lord, I've just got in the front door and it's all kicking off. Holy Spirit, I pray that you will give us peace, understanding. Lord, it's been busy at work today, Jesus, and I brought work home with me and I can't concentrate. Lord, I'm on the commute coming home, Lord, and I can't
switch out of work. Lord, there's things happen today, Lord, and I can't switch out of that. Lord, my mind is racing, and Lord, it is so late and I'm so tired and I am so weary. So Lord, will you help us right now? Lord, will you take this fatigue away, this emotional weariness? Lord, will you help our mind? Will you sweep for our mind, sweep through our heart? But Lord, we thank you that all things are possible to those who believe. But right now, Lord, we lean into the beautiful book of Psalms, verse 4. Holy Spirit, I pray that we will lie down. I pray that we will lie down, Lord, and we will find peace. I pray, dear God, that angels are deployed around our bed. I pray for those, dear God, that are just barely finding the energy to stand. Those, dear God, those eyes that are starting to close, even though they've got a lot to get through. I pray, dear God, that you will give them divine energy, divine strength, that the Holy Spirit will get them through the rest of these hours of this day. But right now, Lord Jesus, give me a peaceful rest through the rest of this night. Lord, as the sun has descended, as the sun rises, Lord, as the snow falls, as the rain falls, Father, as the wind blows, as the trees move according to the rhythm of the wind, Lord, in their lives. Holy Spirit, Lord, as we bend to the left, to the right, Lord, as we sway to the weather structure in our lives. Father, I pray. I ask you, dear God, that we will lean into Jesus. Whatever weather system is at our house, Father, whether that's fear, worry, doubt, or uncertainty, whatever the four corners of the world looks like right now, Father, as we broadcast out of here, London, we pray, dear God, that you will bless the globe, that you will move through Israel, that you will remove right through the Middle East. Lord, I pray that the love of God, through France, through Spain, right away, dear God, through Australia and Toronto, Father, from the battlefield to the war room, from the war room of life to the prayer room, from the prayer room to the Passover table, to the breaking of bread, Lord, to the lifting up of the sun in the morning. Holy Spirit, I pray, as we, dear God, try to declutter our mind. I pray, Jesus, give me a peaceful rest tonight and let my mind be focused on Jesus Christ.
Wherever you are, don't give up. Jesus Christ is with you. Don't go too far. Carry on this journey. I invite you to stay. God bless you wherever you are. Thank God for your life. I'll see you at the next prayer.
