Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself, Reverend Ben Cooper, wherever you are in the world, thank you for making daily prayer part of your life and part of your day. We're on this journey. We're gonna stay connected. Doesn't matter what's happening in the world, doesn't matter what's breaking out in certain areas of the health issues that are on the land at this moment. The love of God is with every one of us. Come on, we're gonna pray together. Father, I thank you for every listener across every nation, every tribe, every color, every language. Father, wherever we are, Lord, we need the rhythm of the Holy Spirit. And Jesus, we pray. Let's pause a moment.
The title of this prayer at this unusual hour at 3 a.m. is coming from the book of Philippians 4, verse 6. And the title is Jesus, calm my anxiety, calm my anxiety and give me peace. Holy Spirit, calm my anxious thoughts and give me peace. God, calm my heart tonight. Holy Spirit, we come to you and Jesus, calm my anxious thoughts and give me peace.
Lord, we stretch out and Lord, we need anxiety to go. Lord, we need this restlessness to go. Lord, and help us to surrender. Lord, I find this so difficult, Jesus, to surrender my heart, my mind, my being, my thoughts. Lord, how do I do this? Lord, this is a wrestle that we have, Lord, especially at these unusual hours. Lord, the wrestle with my thoughts, the wrestle with anxiety, the wrestle with panic, the wrestle with doubt, the wrestle, dear God, of the scrum down of life. Father, we pray from the battlefield to the boardroom, to every scenario under the sun. Lord, we need peace. Lord, help me not to be anxious. Help me, help us, dear God, to find a restless place. Help us, dear God, to rest. Help us to find this place of rest. Help us to find a place of surrender. Help us to find a place where we can just lay everything down. Lord, we don't want to be walking in this restlessness. We don't want to be sleeping, dear God, with this restless spirit. Lord, we don't want to be going to bed with anxiety and mental health issues, worrying about health stuff, worrying about finances, worrying about family, worrying
about friends. Father, we pray for anyone in the circle of our life that is not well right now. We pray for anyone that is suffering with mental health, anyone in hospital, anyone, dear God, that is in prison, Lord, that is at home, palliative care. We pray, dear God, for all these areas of health. We pray for worry. We pray for finances, Lord, all these trigger points that make our anxiety rise. And Lord, give us a restless spirit. And Lord, help us to surrender every situation to you. And Lord, it is so easy to say it, but Lord help me. Lord, I even give myself anxiety, Jesus, when I don't know how to give you my anxiety. So Lord, as we stretch out across the world, Lord, as we broadcast from London, Lord, as we stretch out right the way over to Mexico, Spain, Lord, South Africa and Australia. Lord, as we stretch out, Father, from the table of life. Father, I pray for everyone that is under the sound of our
voice. Jesus, we come to you, Lord, right now, and we need Philippians 4, 6. The Bible says this about you. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. Father, help us to present our request to God. From the battlefield to the boardroom, to the field of life, from every wrestle to every area of uncertainty, God is with every one of us. Whatever situation you're going through, don't ever give up. Father, help us to hand everything over to you. You tell us in Philippians 4, verse 6, do not be anxious about anything. From the battlefield to the boardroom to the field of life. Father, bless us at this hour. Come, Holy Spirit, bring peace. May the Spirit of the Lord carry you at this hour. Don't ever give up. Will you join me for the next prayer? Come with me.
