And the title of this prayer is coming out of the book of uh Psalms 23, verse 1. Jesus, be my shepherd. Jesus, be my shepherd and lead me into a quiet rest tonight. Holy Spirit, Lord, help us to close the lid of the laptop of life today. Holy Spirit, help us to close that lid and to rest our heart, our mind, our body, and our soul. Father, I pray that you will be our shepherd. Lord, that you will lead us in paths of righteousness.
Lord, it's been a fierce day at work. Lord, we can't find a place of rest. Lord, we bring we've been bringing our work home. Lord, on the train we've been thinking about work. Lord, washing up with thinking about work. Lord, doing what we need to do with the children we are thinking about work. Lord, work is overtaking our mind. And I pray for those that bring their work home in their mind. I pray that you will clear
their mind. I pray for those at the 11th hour that are looking at the news channels, that are listening about the shipping lanes. I pray, Lord, that we will take our eyes off of the shipping lanes. I pray for those, dear God, that are looking at the forecourt right now, at the diesel and the petrol, that we will take our eyes off of the petrol pump and off of the forecourt price. And Lord, that we will look at Jesus. So Father, from the forecourt to the washing up, dear God, to the children, to the work rhythm, I pray that we will take our eyes off of everything that is disturbing us right now. And Lord, I pray that we will focus on Jesus Christ. And as we come to you right now, Lord, at the 11th hour, from the four corners of the world, Father, as we broadcast out of London, all the way to America, all the way to Canada, all the way to the Philippines, all the way to India, we are praying for breakthrough.
But Lord, take our eyes off of social media. Lord, our eyes are fixated on so many rhythms of the world. Lord, we don't want to look on social media and get locked in. Father, we don't want to look, dear God, any longer at the laptop of work. Lord, we don't want to listen to the rhythm of the news. Lord, we don't want to keep talking about the forecourt pump price of diesel and petrol. Lord, we want to lock our vision and our eyes onto Jesus. So Lord, I pray that, dear God, that the word of God through the book of Hebrews 12 will give us insight. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author, the perfecter of your faith. And Lord, you tell us through the beautiful book of Psalms 23, verse 1, the Lord is my shepherd, I lack
nothing. Lord, give us deep rest tonight. Holy Spirit, help us to trust in our God. You are the Lion of Judah. You are the great I am. And Lord, as the eyelids of the UK come to close, Lord, we're weary, we're tired. Lord, we're falling asleep with the laptop on us. Lord, we're falling asleep, dear God, with the phone on social media. We're falling asleep with the news channels on. Lord, I pray that we won't surround ourselves with the weight of the world, but we will surround ourselves with the word of God. So Lord, I pray that we will fall asleep with the sound of heaven in our heart. Lord, you are the good shepherd and lead us into a quiet rest tonight. Father, from the battlefield to the laptop, from the laptop to the commute home, to the washing machine, Lord, to every scenario of life. Lord, we need you in our hearts. Lord, I pray that you will, dear God, always remain our shepherd, because when you're our shepherd, all things are possible to those who believe. Wherever you are at this hour, from the rock face of life to the climb of life, to the ballroom of life, to the skip of life, to the dance of life, to the battlefield, to the battle fatigues, to every nation, to every tribe. Whatever you are doing right now, I pray that we will realize that Psalm 23, verse 1, is for every one of us. Jesus, be my shepherd and lead me quietly into rest tonight. May God bless you.
