Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself, Reverend Ben Cooper. Wherever you are in the world, thank God for making daily prayer part of your life and the rhythm of your life. Wherever you are, we're going to stay connected, we're going to concentrate, and we're going to pray. I know you're tired. I know you're weary, but come on, we're going to pray. And this is the title of this prayer, and it is coming out the Gospel of John 14, 27. Jesus, calm my heart and release every burden from this day. Holy Spirit, will you please thank you, God, that you are going to give us calm for our heart and release every burden from this
day. Holy God, Lord, we're worried about the oil. We're worried about the diesel price, the petrol price, worried about the food. We're looking at the shipping lanes, dear God, in a certain area of the world. Lord, we are worried about life itself. And Lord, it is a heavy weight to carry right now. So Jesus, calm our heart and release every burden from this day. Father, as we are waiting to get home, Lord, we're just trying to finish this day well. We're trying, dear God, we need emotional release and we need peace. Lord, as we stretch out and as we broadcast across the world, Father, I pray that you will take every burden from this
day. Help us to close the lid of the laptop. Lord, I pray that we won't take our work home. Lord, I pray right now in the name of Jesus as we come to the cross. Lord, we're still on the commute. Lord, we're at the bus stop, we're on the tube, we're on the train, we're stuck in traffic. Lord, we are tired and we are weary. But Lord, we need calm for our hearts. Lord, we lean into only one place to go, and that is in the Word of God. And you tell us in John 14, 27, peace. I lead with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. Father, I love that scripture. But Lord, will you help me because my heart is still troubled and I do still get afraid. Lord, even though I believe from Genesis to Revelation, even though we pray, Lord, I ask you that you will carry. Lord, as the eyelids are getting tired, Lord, as our eyes are closing, Lord, we need to close the laptop lid on today's work. Father, we need to get on this bus. Lord, we need to get off this tube. Father, we need to get out of this traffic jam. Lord, we need to get home and we need to sit and try and gather our thoughts.
But Lord, we are looking at our lives, and Lord, it is an enormous jigsaw puzzle. And Lord, there are pieces missing. And Lord, I pray that you will help us to work out and what way to go forward. So right now, help us to let go of the day's worries. Help us to let go of the price of the diesel. Help us to let go of the price of petrol, of gas, and electric. Father, I pray that we won't worry about how we're going to feed the children, how we're going to get to work. But Lord, I pray that we will turn our worry into prayer. Lord, instead of worrying, Lord, that we will pray that we will bring all of our worries to the cross. And Lord, that we will have a conversation with you to work. We'll have a conversation on the bus. We'll have a conversation at the kitchen sink. Lord, that we will just call out. Lord, and it might be a battle cry, Jesus. Oh Jesus, help us at this hour.
Father, I pray, Lord, as we stretch out from London all the way to Manila, from Manila all the way to Tokyo, from Tokyo to Asia, from Asia to Australia. Lord, from Australia all the way to East Ambul. We are praying for the love of God and the rhythm of heaven. Lord, we need you in our lives like never before. Father, we love you and we bless you. But right now, Jesus, will you strengthen us? Will you carry us? We are weary and we are tired. Holy God, that you are from the battlefield to the ballroom of life. Father, as we skip through life, as we crawl through life, Lord God, we got to get through life, and life is tiring. Lord, even though we go through the valley of the shadow of uncertainties, even though, dear God, we climb the rock face of life, Spirit of the living God, we thank you for breakthrough over each and every one of us. Lord, lift the stress, lift the worry, lift the fear. But Jesus, calm my heart, release every burden from this day in the beautiful name of Jesus Christ. From the battles of life to the journey of life.
