Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself, Reverend Ben Cooper. Wherever you are in the world, thank you that you're making daily prayer part of your life and part of your day. Wherever you are, come on, let's lock in across the globe. Let's stay connected. Let's get
into prayer. Whatever your time zone is right now, we are on a journey, and the journey is prayer. It will always be prayer. It needs to be prayer. Let's not focus on the shipping lanes of life. Let's not focus on the puzzle of life. Let's not focus on the war cry and what's happening in the political agenda. Let's focus on our shepherd, and that is Jesus Christ.
Father, we come to you, Lord, and we pray out of Psalm 23, verse 1. Jesus, shepherd my life and lead me into deep rest tonight. Holy Spirit, shepherd our lives and lead me into deep rest tonight. Father, we stretch out. And Lord, we are tired from the battlefield to the Passover table, from the Passover table to the washing machine,
to the general rhythm of being a human being, to driving right now, Lord, to sitting in traffic right now. Lord, we are tired to sitting on the edge of the bed right now and just staring at the cupboard and the wardrobe and thinking to ourselves, what has my life come to? Holy Spirit, we need a shepherd. Lord, we need you to guide us. Lord, we pray for those that are worried about their families, their friends, their lives, their future. But Lord, give us deep rest. Lord, we need trust. And Lord, help us to surrender. Lord, that word surrender feels so foreign. Lord, that word surrender can feel so tough some days, Jesus. How do I surrender my life to you? What do I actually do, God? How do I do this? Lord, I've got so many things going on. Lord, we're looking after the family. Lord, we're in relationships. We've got trouble at work. Lord, we're trying to micromanage people. We're trying to do this. We're trying to do that. Lord, the laptop is open at 12 o'clock at night. Father, we're thinking about emails. We're thinking about text. We're worried about the petrol. We're worried about the diesel. Lord, how do I surrender myself to you?
And then, Lord, all of a sudden, I hear your voice. I hear your voice through Matthew 11, 28. Come to me. All of you are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Lord, will you help us to get to you? And then Lord, I hear myself saying, God, how do I get to this invisible King? How do I get to this Jehovah, Jirah, Jehovah Nisi? Lord, and then I hear my heart saying, Open up the word of God. So, brother and sister, through this prayer time, open up the Bible. Turn to Matthew 11, 28. Come to me, all of you weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. God is going to give you rest. How do I get to Jesus? I read the scripture. He is in your heart, your mind, your body, your soul. Father, as we stretch out from London, Lord, to the four corners of this world. Father, as we broadcast all the way to Brazil, San Francisco, all the way to Manila, all the way to Madrid, all the way back, dear God, to Ireland and Scotland. Lord, we are praying for this world. Holy Spirit, I ask you right
now that your love and your mercy and your saving grace will carry each and every one of us. God loves you. John 3 16 is over your life, and God loves you. God really loves you. Everything is going to be okay. Let's try and trust in Jesus. Let's read the scripture. Maybe let's turn the TV off, turn the radio off, turn life off itself, and get a Bible or paperback version of the Word of God. Open up the Word, turn to Psalm 91, turn to Psalm 23, and as we close this prayer time, we're in Psalm 23, verse 1. The Lord is my shepherd. I lack nothing. I pray that the Spirit of the Lord will carry you. And Jesus is the good shepherd. And you will go into deep trust and deep rest and surrender. God is with you. Wherever you are across the world, the love of Jesus is over you. Don't ever give up.
