Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself, Reverend Ben Cooper, wherever you are in the world. Thank you for making daily prayer part of your life and part of your day. Honestly, we thank God for you. Come on, we are tired, we are weary. It is the 11th hour and we are so exhausted. Come on, let's ask God for deep
rest, surrender, and security. Let's try and surrender ourselves to Jesus. The title of this prayer is coming out of the book of Psalms 121, verse 3. Jesus, hold me securely and carry me into deep rest. Lord, carry us into a deep sleep and under your care, holy God that you are, hold each and every one of us secure right now. Father, under the sound of my voice, I pray for the brothers and sisters, whoever they are, wherever they are. Lord, whatever day they've had today, I pray, Lord, whatever life they've had, Lord, I ask you, Lord, that we will just close our eyes and Lord that we will focus on the cross. And Lord, that you will take away every area of our history. Lord, we ask this prayer of you right now. Lord, our history is coming up to
our present. Lord, we don't want our present and our future
to be distorted by what was. So Jesus, hold every one of us secure. And Lord, we thank you, Lord, that our history has gone, is going in the name of Jesus. Lord, we want to feel the love of God. Lord, we want to have a peaceful sleep. Lord, we want to stretch out on the bed tonight. Lord, we want to get nestled down under the covers. Lord, we want to rest and we want to sleep. Father, we don't want to pretend to be asleep. Lord, we don't want to work at being asleep. Lord, we want to know that our Redeemer lives and because he lives, we can face tomorrow. And Lord, because you, dear God, are alive and well, Jesus, I thank you that angels have been put to flight over our lives. Lord, I thank you for Psalm 91. I thank you for verse 11. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all of your ways, to lift their up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against the rock. God has commanded heavenly hosts, they have been released, they have been deployed because of you. And God is carrying you. And I pray that through this unusual hour, God is protecting you while you sleep. God is around your house. God is around your bed. God loves you unconditionally, and the Spirit of the Lord is over you. But right now, Jesus, hold us securely tonight. Holy God, take us into deep rest tonight. Father, let us sleep at a level we've never slept at before. Lord, but help me, help every one of us to surrender our worries to you. Lord, we bring every historical event, the good, the bad, the ugly, and Lord, we try and leave
it at the cross. And Lord, I'm not very good at doing this. Lord, sometimes it's a battle to let go of the suitcases of history. Sometimes, God, I can't get the rucksack off of pain, of hurt, of doubt, of fear. Lord, I need you to get the heavenly scissors out and cut the straps of this rucksack so it just drops off of my back because the history is weighing me down. Lord, it's making me lean forward. Holy Spirit, we want to stand up strong and Lord, we want to walk in righteousness. But Father, we thank you that your love is over every listener wherever they
are tonight. I pray that peace will descend, that the love of God will fall like summer rain over your lives, that the sun will shine in your heart, that your heart will smile, and the presence of God will carry you from this hour to the next level, from this day to the next year. God is with you. From the battlefield to the boardroom, from London to America, from America to Brazil,
wherever you are, all the way to Madrid, the love of God is over your life. Come on, join me at the midnight hour. Don't go too far. The Spirit of the Lord is over you.
