Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself, Reverend Ben Cooper, wherever you are across this beautiful earth, however you are feeling, I pray that you will find rest and you will find peace. God is your refuge, He is your strength, He is your Redeemer. Come on, let's jump straight
in. We're going into the book of Psalms 46, verse 1. This is the title of this late prayer. Jesus, be my refuge tonight and remove every fear as I rest in your presence. Holy God, I ask you that you will cover us in love tonight. And you will be our refuge tonight and remove every fear as I rest in your presence.
Lord, it's been a fierce day. Lord, it's been tough out there in the world. And Lord, we need to rest right now. And Lord, our eyes are tired. The curtains on today are closing. The sun has dropped. And Lord, the noise of the world is still in my head. Lord, it's quiet and down on the outside of my life. But Lord, at this hour, Lord, there is still a noise in my thought pattern.
There is still a noise in my heart. And Lord, I've carried work home tonight. I've carried the troubles up to this hour. Lord, I've carried every situation. And Lord, I pray that you will help us to release it. That you will help us tonight and you will be our refuge and our strength. And you will remove, Holy Spirit, every thought that is intrusive, that is giving us a funny feeling as in we don't feel secure. Holy Spirit, I pray that you will remove those odd and those strange feelings about feeling very unstable in the
world. Lord, we watch the world at this moment on these news channels in this studio. Father, we watch the world, dear God, at war. Holy Spirit, we are watching world leaders playing table tennis with words. And Lord, we don't know what to think. Father, we pray that we won't listen to situational ethics. Lord, that we won't listen to the tribal beat of war. Father, that we won't listen to the what's happening in the shipping lanes, that we won't listen to what's happening at the fuel pump of what they want to do. Holy Spirit, I pray that you will be our refuge tonight and you will remove every fear, and we will be able to rest in your presence as we stretch out across
this world. We believe that Psalm 46, verse 1, is for each and every one of us. God, you are our refuge, and you are our strength. A very ever-present help in trouble. Lord, we need you in our lives, and Lord, we lean into John 3.16, because Lord, there's nowhere else to go. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Father, through the chaotic way the world is spinning, through the carnage that's happening around the world, I pray as we stretch out from London to Saint Paulo, Los Angeles, Venezuela, America, Israel, the Middle East, I pray that we will find rest at this hour, from the battlefield of life to the laptop of life. Holy Spirit to the skip of life, to the dance of life, to the wart of life. I pray that you will give us peace at this hour and we will find rest in Jesus
Christ. Father, bless the listeners in every situation that they are in right now and take us from the valley of despair to the mountain of joy. Father, help us keep our eyes on Jesus, the author and the perfecter of our faith. Holy Spirit, be our refuge tonight and remove every fear as I rest in your presence. Jesus Christ is with you wherever you are across the world. Don't ever give up, whatever battle, whatever turmoil you're going through. Jesus Christ is with you. Join me for the 11 o'clock prayer.
