Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself, Reverend Ben Cooper, wherever you are in the world. Thank you for making daily prayer part of your life and part of your day. We're crisscrossing the world. Come on, under the sound of my voice. We are tired, we are weary. How are you? Whatever is happening in your life, never ever give up.
Jesus Christ loved you. We're jumping into the great book of Psalms, and the title of this prayer is coming out of Psalms 37, verse 7. Jesus, teach me to be still and release control as this day comes to a close. Holy God, Jehovah Jirah, Jehovah Nissi, Lord, we lean into you right now. Teach us to be still and release control as this day comes to a close. Father, wherever we are scattered across this world, we believe in miracles. We believe in the power of the word of God. And Lord, it's been a big drumbeat today.
Lord, it's been fierce at work, it's been fierce on the roads, it's been fierce in life itself. Lord, I'm asking for peace. I'm asking that your love and your grace and your favor will just come down over our lives like fresh rain. Lord, we want to feel the love of God and the mercy of God just like fresh spring rain. Lord, we're tired and we're weary. Lord, we've got evening fatigue. Lord, we need stillness. Lord, we feel restless. Will you help us, Lord, as we come to the end of the day? Lord, we need your grace and your mercy and your favor. But Lord, we lean into Psalms 37, verse
7. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him. Father, I am not a patient person. Lord, I live my life on adrenaline and I should be living my life on faith. Lord, help me to slow down. Help us to wait patiently for God. Lord, I do not want to run ahead of you. I do not, dear God, want to go too far out in front of you. Lord, I want to be walking behind you. I want to be a Jesus follower. So right now, Lord, I pray that I won't go in my own strength and wear myself out. But Lord, I will go and you will teach me to be still and wait for the love of God. Holy Spirit, we know that the love of God is over us always, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. But Lord, when we feel that love, when we feel that step, dear God, of your presence in our lives, Lord, I pray that we will have the faith to take that leap of faith right now. But Lord, I don't want to run in my own adrenaline and my own strength. Lord, I want you to take control of me. I want you to control my mind, my body, and my soul. Lord, I don't want to run ahead of what you have. Lord, I don't want to be guessing of what might be. Lord, I want to know what might be because I'm in faith and I'm learning to be still in the Father's heart. Lord, I want to hear the Father's heartbeat. Lord, I want to be still in the scripture. Lord, I want to rest in your presence. Lord, I thank you that you are giving us stillness.
And Lord, help us to let go of the drama in our past. Our present and right now, holy God, wherever we are, as we criss-cross the world, Father, we thank you that we are broadcasting out of London all the way to Ghana, all the way to Vancouver, all the way to Israel, all the way through the Middle East. Father, we pray, dear God, that your love will be around Asia right now. Father, we pray for the Americas, Lord, Latin America. We pray for every continent, every tribe, every color, every language, every tongue that you will bring us together. Lord, and I ask you, give us evening stillness. Father, take the stress from us. We're tired, we're weary, but Lord, all things are possible to those who believe.
Wherever you are right now, don't ever give up. Let's lean into Psalms 37, verse 7. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him. Wherever you are, don't ever give up. Come on, jump with me to the next prayer.
