Welcome And Scripture Focus

SPEAKER_00

Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself, Reverend Ben Cooper, wherever you are in the world. Thank you for making daily prayer part of your life and part of the rhythm of your day. We're praying across the world and across this globe. We're going to stay connected and we're going to jump straight into the beautiful gospel of John, John chapter 14, verse

Releasing The Weight Of The Day

SPEAKER_00

27. Jesus, give me your presence and help me release everything as this day comes to a close. Father, as the hours are starting to move, our eyes are closing. But Lord, we've still got a lot to do. Father, our eyelids are sore, our hands are tired. Lord, we are struggling to pray. It has been a long old day, Jesus. And will you? Thank you that you have. You are carrying us right now. Lord, as we go through the swamp of life, as we go through the quicksand of life. Today, Lord, it has been a heavy walk. Lord, our legs, dear God, are tired. Our arms are tired. Lord, our brains are just completely a mash of everything

Naming The Trouble Around Us

that's gone on. Lord, there's been trouble at work, trouble on WhatsApp, trouble on the text, trouble in the news, trouble at number 10 Downing Street. There's been trouble at home, there's been trouble on the road. Father, all I feel lately is that we are surrounded by trouble. And right now, Lord, we need peace. Lord, can you take away the trouble and switch it for peace? Holy God, that you are, release everything that is causing us drama. Lord, I pray that we will seek ye first the kingdom of God and your righteousness. And Lord, at this hour, I pray, dear God, for release. I pray for stillness and I pray for

Receiving Peace From John 14

trust. Lord, as we lean into the Gospel of John 14, 27, peace, I give to you. My peace, I give to you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled. And do not be afraid. Lord, my heart feels troubled. Our minds are troubled. Our workspace is troubled. The journey home is troubling. Lord, it just feels like there is a lot of trouble. And Lord, I pray that we will focus as we go through the valley of the shadow of death. That we will fear no evil, for you are with us. Your rod and your staff are with us. From the battlefield to the boardroom, from London to Canada, from Canada all the way to America, from America to Australia, from Australia to New Zealand. Holy Spirit, we are praying that we will trust in God and God alone. But Lord, our voice is getting calm. Our spirit is getting calm. Lord, we are going to call the things that are not as though they are. Lord, even though that we are still racing at a hundred mile an hour on the motorway of life, Lord, we are going to speak peace over our bodies right now. Lord, we believe that we are carrying peace. We believe that there is stillness on our heart. Lord, will you calm this heart down? Lord, will you bring this heart to a sensible rhythm and amount of crack beats per minute? Lord, we don't want our hearts to explode with fear and worry and doubt. Lord, we want to walk in your stillness.

Stillness And Trust From Exodus 14

SPEAKER_00

And Lord, we thank you that Exodus 14, 14 is for us. Lord, this is a powerful scripture. The Lord will fight for you. You only need to be still. Father, will you help us to be still? Lord, you tell us through the great book of Exodus 14, 14, that you will carry the burdens, the worries, and the fears and the doubts. But Lord, at this late hour, will you give us stability? Father, every responsibility, every pressure, every moment, dear God, that has stayed with me today, Lord, I'm trying to place it in your hands. I am trying to hand it over. Lord, I don't want to control what's in my hands. Lord, we feel very unsettled. Our thoughts are racing, our mind is away. Holy Spirit, I thank you that you are working, you are holding, and you, dear God, are making a way.

Handing Over Control And Closing

SPEAKER_00

Lord, I step back from myself and we rest in you, Jesus. Wherever we are across the world, may the Spirit of the Lord be over you at this hour. Don't ever give up. God is with you. Join me at the next prayer.
