Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself, Reverend Ben Cooper, wherever you are in the world. Thank you for making daily prayer part of your life and part of your day. We're praying across this globe. We're staying connected and we are jumping straight into the gospel of Matthew, chapter 11, verse 28.
How are you feeling? What is your day like? What is your life like? What is going on? If you've got a prayer request, please hit us in the studio, which is info at dailyprayer.uk. That is info at dailyprayer.uk. Come on, here
we go. This is the title, Jesus. I surrender fully into your care and rest completely in you tonight. Lord, I love that title, Jesus, but that's a struggle for me, Jesus. Lord, I struggle to surrender. Lord, it's not because I don't love you, it's because, Lord, I live life so fast. So Lord, I pray that you will slow me down. And right now, Lord, I will fall into deep rest and deep surrender to God. Lord, we don't want to be rushing around, dear God, the circus of life. Lord, we don't want to be rushing around, dear God, Lord, like clowns. Father Lord, we don't want to be rushing around the circus of the rhythm of life. Lord, we want to find stability. We want to find hope in the Word of God. So Lord, will you teach me? Will you show me how to surrender fully into you? Lord, please, God, because the church don't really tell me. Religion doesn't know how to surrender. Lord, the world is not interested in Jesus. So Lord, I'm asking you, and I'm coming to you, God, the father of Isaac, Jacob, and Abraham, that at this hour, at this moment, Lord, as we sit on the bed, as we lay in bed, as we're sitting on the sofa, well, Lord, whatever we are doing around the house through the rhythm of life, however people capture the sound of my voice, whatever time stamp it is over their lives, Lord, will you show us how to surrender?
Because, Lord, all my life I've been dragging suitcases with me. All my life, Lord, I've been dragging doubt with me. All my life been dragging fear with me, uncertainty with me. Lord, I've got to let go of these suitcases. Holy Spirit, the grip on these handles are so strong. Lord, help me. Lord, I need deep rest. Father, as we stretch out and we pray right across St. Paolo. Father, Lord, all the way, dear God, to Tunisia, from Tunisia to Portugal, from Portugal all the way to Lisbon and to America and to Australia. Lord, as we hold these suitcases, Lord, as we are at the airport of life, just watching the suitcases spin around and around and around. And Lord, why do I always stretch out for the suitcase? Why do I always want, dear God, that suitcase? Lord, why do I always want to carry that suitcase with me? Lord, I don't want to carry this baggage. Lord, I want to leave it, dear God, in the baggage area. Lord, this is unwanted luggage. Lord, this fear is unwanted. This doubt is unwanted. Lord, and I want to feel your love, God. I want to feel your presence. I want to feel the majesty and the beauty of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
So Lord, we lean into Matthew 11, 28. Come to me, all of you that are burdened and weary, and I will give you rest. Lord, I like the sound of that, Jesus. I like the sound of that, Lord, right now at 11 o'clock in London. Lord, I like the sound of that. Lord, I want to surrender. We want to leave our lives in the care of you, God. Lord, we want to completely trust in you. So, Father, wherever we are at this hour, I pray that we will go into deep surrender. And Father, we will find that we are trusting in you more and more in the greatest name in heaven
and earth. Sisters and brothers, don't ever give up. God is with you. I will catch you at the midnight hour.
