Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself, Reverend Ben Cooper, wherever you are in the world. Thank you for making daily prayer part of your life and part of the rhythm of your day. We are together across this globe. We are staying connected and we are in the book of Isaiah 40, verse 31.
This is the title for this afternoon prayer. Jesus, renew my strength as I continue and do not grow weary. Lord, we are not gonna grow weary, but Lord, my legs are a little bit wobbly, my mind is a little bit tired. Lord, I've got a bit of fatigue at this moment, and through this afternoon, Lord, we are asking, Lord God, that you will renew our strength. And we come to Jehovah Jairah, Jehovah Nisi, Jehovah Shalom. Lord, at this lunchtime, Lord, at this early afternoon, in the late afternoon, Lord, I pray through the busyness of life, through the frantic way life is, I pray right now that we will find peace. Lord, I ask you right now that we will just feel your love and
your grace. And at this very second in time, that the Holy Spirit will descend on our lives and we will find that we have a fresh awakening, a fresh strength at this hour. Lord, at this afternoon prayer, Lord, we pray that we won't give up. Lord, I pray that we will focus on the Lamb of God, that we will focus on Jesus Christ, that we will just say, Jesus, give me strength to continue. Lord, I am feeling tired through this prayer time. Lord, I need you to strengthen my heart, my mind, my body, and my soul. Lord, this endurance prayer, Lord, we come to the cross and Lord, we thank you for the great book of Isaiah 40, verse 31. For those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Father, we thank you that the word of God is poetic. I thank you that the word of God is spiritual. I thank you the word of God just hits that rhythm of our heart. Lord, as we read that, that beautiful devotional time as we gather around the world. Those
who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. Father, as the children are coming home, Lord, as we're getting ready for the last part of the day, Lord, as we're getting the food ready, Lord, we're finishing the ironing, we're finishing the cooking, Lord, we're getting ready for the children, we're getting ready for everyone coming back to the house. We pray for the homemaker that is working behind the scenes. We pray for those who are at work, that are tired, that have had a real bad, heavy run of life today. We pray for those that are getting on the bus, Lord, that are making their way, dear God, to the next destination of their lives. Lord, we are praying, God, strengthen me right now. Lord, give us endurance.
Father, we thank you that the battle belongs to the Lord. But you tell us those who hope in the Lord, I pray that my hope will rise in the valley of adversity. I pray that my hope will rise, dear God, out of the bed of uncertainty. I pray that my hope will rise right now, at school, at home, at life. Lord, through this afternoon, I ask you that we will find strength, that you will renew our strength in you, that we will see the goodness of God. We will feel the favor of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Father, from the battlefield to the field of life. Lord, as we crisscross the globe, Lord, as we lock in together, Lord, from the shopping trolley, dear God, to the cooker, from cooking the food, dear God, to the washing, to the ironing, to the rhythm of life. Father, as we commute, as we crisscross this world, Lord, as we stretch out from London all the way to America, from America, dear God, all the way to Los Angeles, from Los Angeles to Australia, from Australia to Lisbon, from Lisbon to Chile, Brazil. We are praying, Lord, for a great awakening. But Jesus, strengthen me as this evening continues. Strengthen me as this afternoon continues. Strengthen me at this rhythm. Lord, as we are crossing over from the afternoon to the early evening. Father, I pray right now, wherever we are, through this afternoon prayer, that the love and the grace and the mercy, Lord, we will never give up, Jesus. Because those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not
be faint. The Spirit of the Lord is over your life. From the battlefield to the boardroom, to the Passover table, to the barber shop, to the nows and the pedicure. Wherever you are, the love of God is with you. Even when we're doing the ironing, washing and cooking, whatever we are doing, let's just remind ourselves Jesus Christ loves us.
