Reverend Ben Cooper  0:01
Hello, and welcome to our podcast here at Elim church in Swanley. You're joining myself, Reverend Ben Cooper and Leya. And we are so glad that you are with us today. Layer Hello has

Leya  0:11
been a long day. It has been short. They actually showed a delay in this morning. What time? What time you got out the pier this morning. I got out of the pier at 840.

And then, and I rolled into work just before 10 o and then I went to hospital. So it could be with you today. Yeah, we're what we're looking at today. Come on. This normally goes out on a Saturday. We're recording it on Father's Day. And we'll poke it out on Saturday. So everyone, every little Lissa really loved that it goes out on a Saturday because it's something it's like a nice informal chatter that we that's that's really important to understand. But I listened to last week's when I'm on quite heavy painkillers, because I've got a trapped nerve in my shoulder. And I sounded drunk in the last one. So I apologize to him. Too much. Too much alcohol. No, no, no.

I had some really strong painkillers and I took them a bit too close this week. I've taken them like at lunchtime and haven't touched him. Sound gone cold turkey for God. Whoa, whoa, you're healed in the name of Jesus.

Reverend Ben Cooper  1:20
Christ. That would be amazing. Yeah. So it's important. You know, we do some heavy podcasts here. And in the church, you do a lot of heavy discussion. And sometimes it's good just to be nice and light when we're not keeping it alive. We're just keeping it different. We're just different. We're different to what I'm doing. Because I'm new to Jesus. But I'm wearing my Jesus t shirt.

Leya  1:42
Because I'm new to Jesus. I can't go to the deep places are find the Old Testament a little bit scary. Still, often really scary. Yeah. But we're gonna go into both today because I would like to talk to you about communion. Wow. Yeah. Okay. Okay. The reason being is I know that you do a communion, Facebook, and other social social platforms are available to sign up. Oh, yeah. God doesn't do advertisement. Just letting you know. Yeah. But you do the Facebook Live. You do a communion? Yeah. It really touched me when I

when the Coronavirus first struck. Yeah. And I was able to do it at work.

Because I've heard the first time I did, it was quite an emotional experience. If you've heard my previous podcasts, you know, that it took me a long time to get to a place where I felt that I was clean enough to do it. And what I didn't realize was as soon as I turned my heart to Jesus, I was clean, clean. Yeah. Well, you know, it, Holy Communion, breaking a bread. There's so many different terminologies that people use, but we got to remember it was its Christ that put this into being Christ put this into bin. It wasn't me. It wasn't the church. It wasn't the Institute. It wasn't the bishops and the leaders and the priests. It wasn't. It wasn't anyone but Jesus, you can go right back to Exodus talk about the lamb. You know, the

Reverend Ben Cooper  3:17
we're in it. We're in the Old Testament. Yeah. So you can see that God put this in place, I can see that there is an overarching thing. Yes. About communion, in terms of community fellowship Fest in the fellowship of the church is so important, very much talking about Pentecostal day. Yeah. And that fellowship together. What do you put the bread, but the thing that I really liked about it was

Leya  3:42
when I was first struggling with it, I spoke to Chris and said, I'm really your wife and said, I'm, I'm really feeling stressed about this. As a thing. I feel like I'm not fulfilling myself. You're not doing it. Yeah. And you did a sermon on the Sunday when you did the communion. You spoke for a little while beforehand. We probably don't remember. But you spoke about all the different people in the world that would love to do communion but can't do it. Can you talk about soldiers standing at the battlefield taking aside? talks about people in their work bands taking it? Yeah. And when the Coronavirus strap struck, and I was sitting at work taking communion with a can of soft drink. Yeah. And a cracker. Yeah. That made me realize Yeah, absolutely true. That it's true because it symbolizes. It's a symbol. Yes. A symbol. Yeah. It makes us remember it makes us think, yeah, whether that is a wafer that we've got from church wise, or whether it's a Jacob's cracker, no advertising, or it might be a fruit show that doesn't

Reverend Ben Cooper  4:54
advertise or it could be a bit of a nightmare red wine, you know, it symbol. It's a symbol. Yeah.

What we got to remember, it's a symbol and Christ said, Do this in remembrance of me. Exactly. And that's that's so, so important when you're a new believer, and people are talking about blood all the time we spoke about this. Yeah, talking about blood all the time. And they drink in the blank. It doesn't make you think like this.

A conflict. Yeah, it does. Why sacrifice to get this bloody?

Leya  5:25
Tiger. Exactly. And it kind of contradicts what you know about. But I've accepted Jesus into my life or no other. I've allowed myself to walk with Jesus. That's more likely. Yeah. So my choice he chose? Yeah, exactly. He chose you. For an appointed time. I've done that. Because I believe in love. And I believe that Jesus is love and God is love and then come and drink somebody's blood. Come and drink the blood. Don't drink the blood

Reverend Ben Cooper  5:55
of my flesh. That's what the scripture says, Yeah, you're gonna read

Leya  6:03
a believer. That's right, then when you realize that actually is all,

man, this is where it gets deep. Because when you imbibe that when you take that in, when I did first go to Communion, yeah. And one of the kids from the band that I teach, they were the ones that gave me the, and it was like a beautiful experience that it was coming from one of the youth was never in it. That was really nice. And they hand it to you. And you do feel like you are taking in Jesus into your Yeah, yes. into your body. Yes. So it's closer than anyone has ever been or will ever be. Yeah. Yeah, of course. Because I'm literally filling myself. We will go with Yeah, yeah. In any nutritious way. So I'm gaining strength from this. But I felt like I was being washed clean from the inside. For it from the inside inside. Yeah. And I felt like as a result of that it was shining out of me. Yeah. And now when I take it, I feel supercharged. I do. I feel supercharged that yeah, that's what it does it you know it there is no one worthy you know, you people, people praise and certain from different fights will say that you've got to do this got to do that. And you've got to jump through hoops before you can take it and all that is not the case. It's not the case. As we've said before, we've looked at there's a scripture so Ronnie says, As you see, and look who was sitting around the table with Christ on that night, there was no holy gel around that table. Now Satan was waiting in the wings. It was just to get into the earth. So of Judas, because that's what happened. Yeah, as soon as Judas took the song, and he was served by Christ, it says Satan entered into Judas.

Sometimes I feel sorry for Judas, you know, and I had a bit of a bad deal.

Reverend Ben Cooper  7:55
I did a bit of a bell subject Judas, you know, it's a big old subject when you think about it, because not only were many sold Christ for 30 pieces of silver, and then he handed a 30 pieces of silver back, then he went off on committing suicide. So it is rough. It's a rough one. It's rough, but it's all part of the plan and the plan. I know God knows exactly. That we can't grow up there. So community. So what is the Passover? That's what I wanted to talk about past.

Leya  8:27
Because that's in the Old Testament. Yes. So Exodus chapter 12. Verse 12, onwards. I love it when you realize things like that makes me feel like your real reverence. Not just

Reverend Ben Cooper  8:43
just a man trying to follow Jesus is a good memory, Josh. Yeah. Nice. Nice because he's got it tattooed on his end. Bible of Genesis to revert

Leya  8:56
back any any I've got this one the swag. But the thing is, that is where the first mention of blood been something big. An alarm? Yeah. Isn't it the blood of the Lamb of blood of the Lamb? Take? Take a lamb sacrifice it correct. Paint near kosher door seal? He says yeah, take a lamb unblemished lamb lamb. And yes, Jesus. Yeah, yeah. So it's all. So let's look in picture for picture forms. They say the lamb as Christ. And then as you as the scripture says, Exodus chapter 12. It says very clearly there, he gets very clear instruction of how and what to do and eat in haste, sacrifice, sacrifice it, eat all of it, don't leave none of it. You know, it sounds like Madonna kebab shop.

Reverend Ben Cooper  9:46
All of it, then that's where

serious, serious

isn't it true that a kebab is a lamb? Yeah. Now I know

Leya  9:59
quickly

Route two minute just to bring it up today to because I want to show the the similarities between then and now and now. So one of the things that it says in I think it's Corinthians yeah is

about make sure that you eat the whole lamb. Yeah, it says there. This isn't a feast. No, but you've got a face. You got to face separately that that's exactly right. Then you don't have the communion. You don't come and take all of this because you're hungry. Yeah, exactly. Do it because you're trying to get drunk is that it says that isn't in the thousands of yours. between what what God was saying when you when you roast this lamb? Yeah, roast it in a certain way Herbes, it talks about Herbes and all that sort of stuff. It's the face, it's a feast and eat it with your with you. You're sure your your cloak wrapped around you. You're about done tight, as quick and as hasty as you can. So you're reaching it quite like rapidly. But then as you said, because it's a feast? Yes. But then up in the New Testament, it says, Now come on, when you come to this, it is not a feast. Well, it is a spiritual awakening, it is a spiritual rather than what the amount of what you're eating, it changes it can say my face to say something. So the thing that I'm going to say is, what did they do exactly? Before they took the first communion? They had supper faced, they had it before. So that is exactly an example that the the,

Reverend Ben Cooper  11:37
the the bread and the wine does not fulfill your belly as in food. Yeah, but spiritual, because he says Do this in remembrance of me. Exactly. So when you when you come back, and you look at everything that you that, like you said it was a face to face that there is a face that the Last Supper and then after that, Pereira either it was called the Lord's faced Lord's face. So you have the Lord's face, then you have the communion. And in past Cypher, they had the Lord's face, which was the lamb. Yeah. And then the blood. Yeah. Isn't it interesting how Christ God, all the way through the word uses? He uses the environment before the people to to speak to them? Yeah. So he would use animals and he would use farming, he would use fruit, and he would use everything and it's all it's all related to what their eyes could see. Yeah. You know, every everything is like in front of you. So a lamb they're very shepherds are very familiar with and you know, I'm very familiar with all that and cooking and Herbes and everything. Here we got fireworks.

Leya  12:48
Because we're talking about Jesus, Jesus.

Reverend Ben Cooper  12:51
So communion, and the Passover. Yeah. I said that interest me so much the passing over. Yeah. Now, I've said this before, what really speaks to me is that that part in the scripture in Exodus chapter 12, where it says, I will pass over. Yeah, now a fingernail it What do you mean you What? So when I see a sign, and that sign is the blood of the Lamb over your door post and over your windows? The Angel of Death? Well, that must be Satan.

Leya  13:22
No believe it is known as God. Is he? What Yeah, your face when you look at one of the angels who rip from his relation with sources? I will I will pass over man who is he referring to himself? Yeah.

Reverend Ben Cooper  13:38
I will. He says, I will pass over when I see when I see when I will pass over. Yeah. It's very, very powerful. So you've got to look at that. He said, got a judgment. He will he get and the Bible says he gives life and he takes a lot. Yeah. If any take away, give us any take away. So that was so important for them to understand what God was saying. If you do not put the blood of the Lamb over the doorposts and windows of your house, the Angel of Death come visit? Yeah, yeah. That's a frightening prospect is a very frightening thing. Because you look at that, especially when you've just faced it. But then I suppose you're faced in and

Leya  14:24
it's like we were saying last. Last week, we were talking about

the, the angels are saying, we don't have to constantly be praying against the devil, because we will already claim Washington for Jesus. Yeah. So that's where they're coming from. I would imagine that the Christians from that time would have thought, Well, I'm saved. I'm safe. Our faith. Yeah, because I love God, Israel. So you look so Christianity started at the birth of the church that mean Christianity means Christ in me. So that the Christianity birthed at that point before in the Old Testament. That

Reverend Ben Cooper  15:00
Jewish, Jewish Messianic believers and then you go and talk about, oh, we won't get into all that stuff, Messianic believers. But we talked about the children of Israel. That was God's children. And he gave them complete instruction about taking this now. Yeah, that that was a picture of what was going to come in the New Testament. Take the lamb. Lamb is going to be sacrificed. Yeah. And cook it correctly. Do what you do Herbes clear instruction. Nice and juicy, nice and juicy.

Leya  15:33
That my mom does, yeah, put Yorkshire pudding around there.

Reverend Ben Cooper  15:38
Last

Leya  15:39
thing is what do we do on a Sunday? We have a roast dinner what we face?

Yeah, sorry. The Lord's Supper. Yeah. It's a tradition that we take forward is that every Sunday we have fellowship with our families. Exactly. At the end of every church service we get together we we don't have fellowship as we sit and we have a massive feast. None of that. But people are never realized why I was so that person that brings along the treats on a Sunday. They're so kind. Yeah, they're fulfilling. Yes. God, but in it because they bring on food for fellowship. Yeah. If you're looking at, let's go 41 to 47. What's it say? It says that they gladly received the word and were baptized. Yeah. And the same day, they were added on to them about 3000 souls. So this is the day after Pentecost The day after. Okay. So they sat down together and they spoke.

I'm going to paraphrase the Bible. Um, so. Okay, good. And so they sat down together and spoke about the doctrine of worship on fire. Yeah. And they had fellowship, and they broke bread. Yes. And had prayers. Yeah. And that's the thing that gets me it's we communion isn't just about taking the blood. And the bread. Community union is about the fellowship of being together. If you look up communion in the dictionary, yeah. It's one of the definitions is fellowship. And I know that we don't have to talk about measuring things and science in that, but so every time we get together, we have that fellowship. Yeah. I missed that fellowship. I don't know. Yeah, I think that thing of when you come in on a Sunday, and everybody stands up and says, sisters are together and just the feeling of being God's house, is so important to the Bible says never, never give up. It says Never give up. Never give up the coming together and the fellowship with one another. That's really important. And that's what's happening now, though, isn't it? Because because there's a lot this lockdown period, it says, never neglect that. But you can gather in ones and twos and then it's really important and but that's how the early church came together. ones and twos, threes and fours, small amount, and then we exactly see what you're saying about thousands came because of the preaching of the word. I think that's what Peter did, didn't he when faced with the puzzles, puzzles, when faced with them, then they broke bread together. Apparently for a whole day. Which is fruit was a bit more

done. Oh, yeah. Drive Thru McDonald's hadn't been invented yet. So instead, they just broke bread bread. And then he went off to Rome, apparently. But yeah, that's, that's what they say that it started is that very small, small thing and that dealership, and then that fellowship grows into the 3000. And now it's spread all over the world. And

the thing that I find really fascinating about it, is that the most important fellowship, yeah, is me praying.

Praying.

Reverend Ben Cooper  18:50
Speech, yeah. chatting away singing away communication that is communion singing.

Leya  18:57
Because when your choice and you are, you are lucky if I think about it, and I think that God created the instruments. God created the world. God created the music. God has created the oxygen that I'm breathing in, because he has so the fibers and everything form of imbibing him taking him in. He's in all

out through worship. Yeah. And that's why that feels so good. That's why that makes me feel as clean as taking communion. Because the Bible says out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water, rivers, he's the living water, Christ is the living water. You know, he says, Come to me, all of you that are thirsty. So whenever Christ speaks, and he summarizes is always he will refer to food he will refer to farming, agriculture will eat.

Reverend Ben Cooper  19:51
See how they related to what they see in front of them? Yeah, but it's so powerful. Isn't it the way that was done? Yeah. And when you talk about breaking bread, you can eat

The bread cracking, you know that symbolizes the body of Christ being broken.

That's what it's about. You can't get you can't skip over it now that that that is what that is what it's about the breaking of bread, Christ buddy that was broken for each and every one of us. So that's what we're doing Do this in remembrance of me here. So it's very powerful

Leya  20:25
that came from

Reverend Ben Cooper  20:28
your side and blood gushing from the side. You know, it's so powerful the communion is so powerful. It really is. It really is powerful. So, so So where does this come from? It is scripture. It is not given by man man has not give this to me. Christ has put this will God put this in place at the beginning. Exodus, we see where it came from, all the way through, you can see this. So so what I'm trying to say is if God put it in to be in it is God that that says that I can do this. Yeah. It is not up to any human being to say that I'm not worthy to take that. That's their choice, because actually they don't see my heart. And not only that, but even if if you if you repent and you have colon to God, yeah. Anyway. Koshi anyway, penance.

So anyone that's listening to this, you know, there are certain religions out there are certain movements out there that say that you can't take of communion. Because their theological understanding and when actually the scripture says, as often as you come together, Do this in remembrance of me. Yeah. Who's the me the great, I'm Christ. Yeah, it's God. It's God. God's God put us into place. Not the church, not the institution. Not the religious organization. Christ God, the Holy Spirit. Yeah. So if God and Christ as instructed me as often as you come together, break bread take the cup in remembrance of me. Is, is that personal commitment? It is, is that personal thing? And that's what I'm saying about the the singing thing is that nothing can be more personal than that breath in that imbibing in the same way that you imbibe the blood and the bread is that breath in and then laying it out and doing it in fellowship with a choir. Yeah. Or with the kids in the band? Yeah, make sure heart was in the same way that the communion That's right. Yeah. It's very, very powerful. Very powerful. But the interesting thing about the Last Supper is that he says, I'll, I won't take up the vine. Until, until until

Leya  22:45
the marriage. Oh, revelations, we get an ever Yeah, that mention that word revelation. Its first day. So the next time I want to be happy, Okay, the next time that Jesus, the man or Jesus the Son of God, yeah. eats and drinks. Is that his marriage? Yeah. marriage of the Lamb is our bond is when we are in heaven with Jesus is so powerful. So all the way from

Reverend Ben Cooper  23:14
Old Testament, New Testament, Revelation, Heaven, scripture, the bride, the bride.

Leya  23:23
The bride owes the bride and this woman because have not had any mention of the bride of Christ bride, the body of Christ. What is the bride? The church?

No capital T, capital C church, the boy chapters.

Reverend Ben Cooper  23:43
Now we're talking about the bronco we're talking about with Yeah, we're not talking about the institution. We're talking about the people coming back.

Coming back for what for humanity? What is what I know when I'm referring to humanity that that encompasses everybody what we should be saying is coming back for the believer in the Lambs Book and the Lambs Book that would come out again lamb Yeah. Amazing and abs are everywhere in the Bible. Hey, thank God for

Leya  24:13
now, chili sauce. I

Reverend Ben Cooper  24:16
can't wait. I can't wait to this podcast is done.

You know, it is so fantastic. It's so amazing. It's so beyond human understanding. How this spiritual word of god yes, speaks through pictures speaks through fruit poems. Frou Frou always it just speaks he speaks for agriculture. We speak through the fish and the loaves he speaks through the Sermon on the Mount. Ah gosh, it's so big. I just find this though. Huh? Yeah, that's another thing when he when he provides food for everybody. Yeah, and wine at the

end.

Leya  25:00
Everything that I've looked into about the communion is cyclical. I think in the Bible, about the communion, it's like cyclical. Yeah. So if you start at the very beginning of the book, really all the way through,

and then starting again. Yeah, just round, okay. It ties up. Yeah, it's, it's, it's, it ties in on a script, man, the Word of God is beautiful. Scripture says all God's word is God, praise God given God, God has given us this word. So that communion is really, really important to understand that I can be in a field, I can be in a van, I can be on a scaffold, I can be in my office, I can be at home, sit on the edge of the bed, I can be in church.

Reverend Ben Cooper  25:46
I can be in church. Yeah. And you know, ever I am on planet earth wherever I am. And my heart is right here. Because that's what's important. Because if I take it outside of that, I'm taking it for religious reasons and the wrong reason. So wherever I am, and he says, well, there's two or three of you that come together in my name, do this. So it's a clear instruction as often as you come together, in my name song coming in the name of Jesus, in the name of religion, and coming in Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I will on Lord I'm coming to you now and Lord have sinned and fallen short of your glory. But Lord, I thank you but as I break bread, the bread symbolizes your body. And Lord, this cut Lord, this this wyness in this cup symbolizes the blood of Christ. I'm going to take this, I'm going to take it lordan. But there are uncountable people out there that don't take this because the institution is saying you can't. I saw this thing the other day. I was watching them YouTube. I was doing research. Yeah. And there was a whole argument on the from a guy who was a religious guy, I'm not gonna mention the church.

Leya  26:54
And then he was saying that you can't take communion during lockdown, because you can't do it online. Because there's no fellowship. But it's just a different kind of fellowship. That's what it is really, completely disagree. Yeah, me too. completely disagree with that, you know, that is just, you know, the fact that when we do things online, we can all be in our homes, it can go to all over the world. And everybody can, everybody can talk to each other. Yeah, yeah, fellowship is there what's really important to understand is, it's that so what we're saying is, it's if I'm at death's door, I'm at death's door. I've gone around like that.

Reverend Ben Cooper  27:37
Okay. Oh, and if I'm if I've got few hours ago,

what I'm trying to say is if someone isn't there, they're into their life. Yeah. And they are on their own to a degree getting ready for their faces yet. Now the take a soldier take a soldier that is in a war zone, right? Okay, that's better if he's not on it if they are on their own.

So for soldiers in a war zone on his own, no one around but he's got a bit of bread or a bit of drink with him. And he wants to get right with Christ. Are we saying then, that he can't take off that bread and wine because he's on his on his own in the middle of a jungle?

But he's not he's on scot free people. We got free free paper with him. But when you look at what that guy might have been saying what he says, physically? Yeah, you did. He did. What that guy is saying get Is this right? What I picked up from what you said, this guy's saying that is if if you are on your own, you can't take the bread and wine. That's what he's saying. Basically, yeah. So you've got to be with one or two. Yeah.

So that so that, so that squashes everything out of anyone being on their own in a critical situation in a trench under gunfire. God.

I want to take communion, but actually, I can't because there's no one with me. Yeah, no, no, no, I don't understand what the scripture says. For example, making rules, rules about things that you can't make was bad, because there's only one God, there's only one Jesus. Yeah.

Yeah. So what is what that guy's hanging on is the scriptures is, as often as you come together, you guys now, you could take you as just one. Yeah. As often as you'd come together.

Yeah. So what I'd love to know what is biblical standpoint was I'd love to say, Yeah, I'd love to see what that reference was. Because you know, what? What about, oh, there's loads of scenarios where you have an anger Jerry, you're angry.

Mad, holy righteousness, holy anger, Lord, help me, Jesus. Because it's not fair to say that. No, it's not fair to say that it's not fair to say that anybody else has meaning. So that means that would just No, I don't agree with that at all. It's a

Way of technology has been given us by God. Yeah, because he owns the Wi Fi. He owns the Yeah, he was he created? Exactly, you know, and so

but so what we're saying is in the if you use the world of zoom and all that is you're not really doing it properly because you're not in bodily form with me. Yes. So what about the decider? The Apostle I should say, then said sorry, I can't be with you at the moment. But I'm with you in spirit. Yeah, come on. That's, you know, I mean, I can't be with you because I'm somewhere else. But my thought my heart My mind, I'm with you in spirit. I am with you. I mean, I just feel like what negates his entire argument? Yeah. Is that I'm never alone anyway. No, I'm never alone. I'm never alone because I've always felt good because it's always with me. I've always got Jesus with me. Yeah. And I'm glad that he's my friend. Yeah, yeah. Because so you take fellowship where if you take fellowship with your friends Yeah, but not only is it my friend is my king. He's the king

Leya  31:02
he's a great I am and many people can say their friends and take fellowship with their man, you know? Yeah, it's so powerful. Yes, we can do online. You can do you can do on your own. Well, that's the thing that I really loved about when we did it online that time when I was at work, is that I then said, object I've posted a picture of what I'd taken.

And somebody else said I've just done mine with coffee and a cracker and then somebody else said I've done mine we've Yeah, it bred see what we're doing is we are using what we got in front of us Yeah. Is there ever so say there is an argument there where our should use a better word and argument apologetics? There is a big Christian ARV I want you know, there is an area of discussion of that someone comes into church we got a lot of people in church and Amani in church because I'm doing it because I'm traditionally in church. Yeah, why are you taking the bread and wine you know it's there's a heart It's about your heart It doesn't matter who's around you to the man many people are with you. You know if if if you are a true follower of Christ is an individual thing. You're not taking breath you're you are with me but you're not with me. I'm not because I'm not I'm taking it because you're in the same room as me. I'm not taking it with you for HR I'm taking it I've never considered any other person apart from me. Jesus just me and the father in Christ and the Holy Spirit so that is a time of oneness yeah of coming to a communion complete communion with Him Yeah, yeah it's really really important to understand that that we can be at work we can be in the van you can be wherever you want to be you know you can be phase 3000 miles in the heavens about flying in a nice jet gonna die and go this type friend of mine. This is a great

thing I like as well. Still on Sunday. You can do it as often me Yeah. As you come together. Yeah. Now that opens up a new big dog Exactly. So every time we gather because there is that debate about some people only take it every other month every quarter. Yeah. But the take it as often as you come together. Yeah, as often that was often me when you're together. Yeah, exactly. on your own you know, you've only got so much to talk about this much to look about in this area of communion. breaking a bread and taken in the cup is really really important to understand what what does the scripture say to me? How does it speak to me the relevance of this word there's power in the Word of God here. What it says is well is that we have to Terry Tabby, one another? Totally you have to care. It's not just about Yeah, it's not just about

I mean, I'm alone. I'm going to take the thing part of the process is me in the desperate I mean, I've never thought about it before so perhaps our sound come teaching you how to suck eggs. But part of the process for me is the coming in seeing everybody the fact that everybody's kind of love. Yeah. Then you then you have the sermon, which is this discussion that we're talking about in Acts Yeah, that part where you talk about Well usually it's you talking hours but you know

because you've done there are some churches where they don't know they you sit there and you get talked out? Yeah. Oh, oh, yeah. Especially why Hmm, such a difference in there between Yeah. Spiritual word from God. Yeah, cuz you know, it's come from God and you've almost bypassed the person. Yeah, but when someone is been reading from the Bible, just torial

Reverend Ben Cooper  35:00
Yeah, and being a control freak, it's coming from them not saying that they just need to explain that. I'm not saying that reading from the Bible is bad. I mean, when someone just reads it by rote and there's no heart No, there's no. Out of tradition. Yeah.

as a guide, there is no Terry Terry, there's

Leya  35:19
no No, no, no. So it's the point of an also finding humor in the word and yeah, finding the sadness in the works. That's what Tyrion is. It's like Kendrick Chavez. Yeah. cajoling each other along is saying, you know, what's the reality of your life? really caring about each other courses? And then once you've carried that's when you take them because that's what Jesus did. The feasts and Asafa which was actually the Lord's feast. Yeah. So in that they tear it he was looking forward to it. He said, Go on. Go ahead. set us up a table for me Why? Yeah. Even though we knew what was going to happen, of course, he must have been looking forward to and quite sad about that. This is the last time I'm going to be with my friends.

So what are you going to do? Are you going to enjoy that time? Or are you gonna

Reverend Ben Cooper  36:10
so when you look at that, you know me Yeah, man. Yeah, cuz he Well, yeah, cuz the Bible makes it very clear. The man Christ Jesus. Yeah, it makes it very clear. Yeah. The man Christ Jesus. But when I think about that actually makes me quite emotional that the he knew that this was the last time he was going to see his friends. So you know, when he was with his friends, and yeah, what we're talking about there. Yeah. And then he took up the bread and the cup. And they all done that. And then

Leya  36:34
they went off. Yeah. And he said, You couldn't stay awake for me went to the gardener get 70 Yeah. And we know they're not

Reverend Ben Cooper  36:42
black. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, easy. So he was in that place that that room that been prepared, got the lamb and, sorry, taken over the feast, and everything was done with that, because they shared a bowl

Leya  36:57
you know?

Reverend Ben Cooper  36:59
Yeah. And I did the bread as he said, Yeah, one that dips the bed Really? Oh, my can you get a little bit more?

So then they so so that, that tells me that that was strengthen him for him? Yeah. But then also when he went to the garden, the sweat droplets of blood, and then the angels come and ministered to him. And because that is his human side, it's got have been the most bittersweet experience. So he's eating a meal with his best mates. Yeah. And at the same time, he knows when you put your hand in that bar with me.

Leya  37:32
You're going I know that you're gonna be when I already know that you are. I'm letting you know that. I know. That you know that. I know. Yeah, that you know that. I know that I created you. But he's also letting us know. Yeah, he's letting us know that I I knew what was going to happen to me. And yet I enjoyed this face. And yet, I spent this time with these people, and yet I offered them.

I offer them forgiveness, salvation in the form of my blood and my body. When you think about that scripture, the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, as the New Testament writer writes, yeah. But then it also says in john, In the beginning was the Word. and the Word was with God. And the word was exactly God. Yeah. So God came down.

Reverend Ben Cooper  38:20
Oh, man, when you think about as a as a man, as a child, he came to this earth and chose the dressing room of Mary's womb to pop out. Yeah.

And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. Yeah. In the beginning was the Word. and the Word

Leya  38:42
was God. And he No no, you think about that. His plan his plan? I know I know. This is the thing that blows my mind because

God so much stuff the world so much. He sacrificed his only sound. But it was him. It was him all along. It was him. Can you when you think he theologically is

Reverend Ben Cooper  39:04
a fella Mr. teeth out? It's like me, it's just blood.

All over the wall? Yeah. Because when you really think about that, but then also we know that the Holy Spirit, the Son, and God,

I want but free. Yeah, they can't do

Leya  39:23
you're trying to work. When he was at that last supper, he knew exactly what was gonna happen. He know that Judas was gonna do what he did. And yet he forgave him because he gave him the blood. This is the remission of all sins of interest in that Judas was Oh, now that comes back to what we're talking about. Well it all hangs around the same tree fascinates me it's very fascinating but going on now we're not going on No, we're not going on wages chain chain chain. So when you when you look at that, or you look at that there right. Okay, so we got Christ. Yeah. And we got Judas Christ, the Holy One. Absolutely.

Reverend Ben Cooper  40:00
To complete holy purity, and he hands the dish and the barwani.
