Hello and welcome. Thank you for joining us here at Elim church. You're listening to us at Elim in Swanley and this is Reverend Benjamin, Leonard Cooper. It makes me smile every time I say that, but only when I'm with Simon Pinchbeck. No one else you know I can be really holy with everybody else. When someone comes into town, I'll be real. Yeah. This is me. This is me cap on collars off. Little scarfs on I got a camel parked up outside. Look at that. All the way.
Simon Pinchbeck:scarf come from Ben
Reverend Ben Cooper:market. I'm not lucky.
Simon Pinchbeck:Because often we should pray over there.
Reverend Ben Cooper:It's me. It's my desert scarf wrapped around our neck because I want to be like others don't get in the military ministry.
Simon Pinchbeck:Oh, well. There's a lot of desert. spiritually. There's the desert. The desert. Yeah, God
Reverend Ben Cooper:gave me inspiration. He said then you got to get desert scarf.
Simon Pinchbeck:You got? You got the pot, you know, and you've got the NY hat on it. Yeah,
Reverend Ben Cooper:I've got that. Yeah, I'm trying to get a bit like songs. Yeah, you know,
Simon Pinchbeck:there's a spy.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah, our friends gone.
Simon Pinchbeck:Leo's gone. Yeah.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Can you give me a few quid to get the tape done?
Simon Pinchbeck:Because it all comes as part of the package off
Reverend Ben Cooper:teeth, car, spray on tan.
Simon Pinchbeck:You've got the tattoos? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, maybe he is not quite on your side. But you know, maybe
Reverend Ben Cooper:it can be done in the kingdom all things are possible to those who believe
Simon Pinchbeck:this and know very quickly, or will you say that I had a story of a fella room. Lord promised it come to counter loaded and what happened was he had a bit of a heart attack and he rushed into hospital and there he was lying on the table and he sees that he sees that the light the shining light and he goes up and God's core them and he said God God no, give me he says my timing and God says no, he says you've got another 20 years yet you know so he sent him back into his body and the color comes out of hospital he thinks Oh my no man he thinks I'm gonna he said God's giving me another 20 years so it goes out and he has a facelift at Tommy tacky as order eyebrows down and he has everything everything sorted he has the teeth Danny has a straight out after his last treatment he walks out just crossing the road bank got double decker bus it's in it's dead. And he goes up to heaven and he says a lot of what you should have got another 20 years and costs as well I'm awfully sorry. So if you look so good. I didn't recognize
Reverend Ben Cooper:looks down at the church now guys. I don't recognize Wow,
Simon Pinchbeck:you've kind of message
Reverend Ben Cooper:message going on have some very free. What's the truth isn't a trophy? Yeah, don't recognize you.
Simon Pinchbeck:All the glitz. The glamour that I can't
Reverend Ben Cooper:recognize. Yeah. But Lord I thought that's what the church was
Simon Pinchbeck:gonna live for me. Matthew seven.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Come on. Come on. Let's get this intro done. Right Simon? It's good to see ya, Scott.
Simon Pinchbeck:Great to be back.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah. And we love having you here doing these podcasts. Now. We've gone we've gone on the gun on the screen on the screen. Yes. Great. Yeah, don't take down. We're gonna
Simon Pinchbeck:call this a Power Hour. Anyway. Power Hour. Yeah. We're the home of truth. This is the power hour and this is the truth. And today's what we're looking at we're going to talk about a day is Never give up. Never giving up.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Never give up. Yeah, the word for me Never give up and never given. Yeah. Even when you're tired, exhausted. You think oh, where I never give up. And never give in.
Simon Pinchbeck:Because I reached that. I reached a point. That's where we're, you know, gotta be honest. This week's been great. Last week wasn't so good. We have wachesaw that don't wait. Yeah. Yeah, you just don't know. And, and the thing is, if you press it into the Lord, yeah. Yeah. And he will give you stuff. He will give stuff. He will give you scriptures to encourage you know, and we're gonna come on to that in just a few moments. But I want to kick off with one scripture, Ben gone and this. I've never really looked at his scripture in this way before but it's kind of hit home. It's Luke 962. Let me have it. It says no one, putting his hands to the plow and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God. Ah, she said that. Jesus said that Ray again. No one putting his hand to the plan. And looking back is fit for the kingdom of God. Now, let's just examine that now in in in those days, yeah, obviously there was oxygen and then we have plow beyond yet. Now you had to keep looking forward. Because that furrow is going to be straight, straight as a die that for us,
Reverend Ben Cooper:if you look back, you're gonna get wobbles,
Simon Pinchbeck:you're gonna win that's gonna go all over the place. And it
Reverend Ben Cooper:was so good. Looking back in a church
Simon Pinchbeck:was so good at looking back. Do
Reverend Ben Cooper:you remember the old pastor, you remember, you remember the old days after lockdown, we want to get back to what we was we want to get back. We want to get I want to get back when I get back. Lord, I don't want to go back to what it was. I've got to go forward.
Simon Pinchbeck:I don't want to go back to my old life. Don't
Reverend Ben Cooper:get me out stuff.
Simon Pinchbeck:You cannot put one foot in the world on one foot.
Reverend Ben Cooper:And ankle difficult is that for for men in Christ to follow Jesus to follow Jesus without looking back.
Simon Pinchbeck:We'll look at this. And here's the cost of discipleship and it's a cost. But yeah, there's a cost worth paying. That's the truth. If you go back just a little bit further in that Luke 950, Luke 959 and 61. guy says, I want to follow you but first let me bury my father.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah, I want goodness gracious. I want to follow you. But let me but I'm just gonna. I'm on load.
Simon Pinchbeck:Yeah,
Reverend Ben Cooper:I'm just gonna go back. I just Oh, that is so real for today.
Simon Pinchbeck:What did he say as well? I want to follow you a little bit. First, let me say goodbye.
Reverend Ben Cooper:I want to tell you a little bit. I want to drop the nets, but I want but low back.
Simon Pinchbeck:Jesus said, you know, what did he say? birds have their nests so some foxes have their own. What's a Santa Monica?
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah. What as a son of manga, he borrowed a tomb. He had no earthly possessions. But pastors have nice cars. pastors have nice houses. Jesus said, drop everything and follow me come and live by faith. But Lord, yeah, I've got a nice Amani, so I'll go get blue and get some skinny jeans. Thank you, Jesus. You know what I mean? When you look at Christ. Come on, follow me.
Simon Pinchbeck:When you when you accept Jesus Christ,
Reverend Ben Cooper:it means laying every face your Lord and Savior, laying everything down,
Simon Pinchbeck:laying everything down and becoming a citizen of the kingdom of God.
Reverend Ben Cooper:To be a citizen of the kingdom of God. What does that require that meet that requires to lay everything down of the flesh everything out of the world, and to come on follow the Messiah with nothing that is of the earth, but everything internal, I follow him with my heart. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and everything else shall be added unto the
Simon Pinchbeck:following, following your heart following your loyal citizen of the kingdom.
Reverend Ben Cooper:I gotta follow Jesus.
Simon Pinchbeck:You keep your eyes on Jesus. What was it say been Hebrews 12 two says fixing
Reverend Ben Cooper:your eyes on the offer. The perfecter of our faith. Yeah. But
Simon Pinchbeck:he says goes on to say for the joy. Enjoy the cross. Yeah. To sit down at a handed a father. So here we
Reverend Ben Cooper:are.
Simon Pinchbeck:Here we have right here we have Jesus Christ, right. who became flesh, she became man who came down from the kingdom of heaven.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Down. so low, 14 generations, it says he came down, stooped down so low, He humbled Himself humbled himself.
Simon Pinchbeck:For us. He went through all that. Everything he went through, here, everything he went through, you know, there's not a man done anything near like, like what he's done. For us, to to be ridiculed to be to be die on a cross. But it is low as point. The father that and we've discussed it before, the biggest thing wasn't the death, but was the separation, good. Tommy's Father, and the Father looks at him with all that sin on him on the cross and goes, I can't look at you. I cannot look at myself.
Reverend Ben Cooper:That stops you in your tracks.
Simon Pinchbeck:You imagine your daughter, your son, I can't look at you
Reverend Ben Cooper:can't look at you. Oh, I'm sorry, out. away, turn your face. Turn your back. The father
Simon Pinchbeck:cannot be associated with the sin with the sin.
Reverend Ben Cooper:But for redemption, for the blood for Christ gone to the crust. Humanity has access. Now, now. It isn't the church isn't the leaders. It isn't anything to do with the system at church. I'm a child of the living God. I'm in a kingdom. I'm in the Kings domain. I'm not in the system, a church, thank God for the church, everything. But Lord, I don't want to be associated with the church when the church is not associated with you. I want to be associated I want people to know that when I die, I follow Jesus. He's a Jesus follower. I follow Jesus and there's a follow Jesus you've got to lay everything
Simon Pinchbeck:down you've got to never give in
Reverend Ben Cooper:never given and never give up and never give up. Jesus
Simon Pinchbeck:never gave in. It never gave up we were talking about it just outside I mean it god yeah, the temptation of Jesus out he was a he was a man in the flesh. But for 40 days and 40 nights been never ate or drank a thing. Man, I can't go I can't come go for hours. without
Reverend Ben Cooper:drinking this stuff. You know, the coffee's everywhere on every street corner in it. Yeah, we're going to now cost the Starbucks, you know, these places with drink in
Simon Pinchbeck:the stomach is a strong master. And
Reverend Ben Cooper:he Oh my god. Yeah, we're feeding that God all the time for fading. fading?
Simon Pinchbeck:Isn't is Jesus who's gone 40 days and 40 nights and right at the pinnacle when he was must have been whose weakest in the flesh? Yeah, he's tempted by the other fella.
Reverend Ben Cooper:The less voice
Simon Pinchbeck:voice.
Reverend Ben Cooper:But he did not react to the lesser voice. He came back and he brought the word that fascinates me to think that the the audacity of Lucifer bringing the word to the word.
Simon Pinchbeck:Yeah, bringing the word so the word
Reverend Ben Cooper:bringing the word to the word, trying to get the word to stumble on his own word. And if if Christ had that brought to him, what more is humanity going to be brought to their door? our door? Yeah, what more is going to be brought to the church because the church don't know the word of God or I want to get in trouble for that.
Simon Pinchbeck:This is a massive point. And it doesn't know the word if you're listening is Corrado or this out there because the How did Jesus Jesus defeated? Yeah, that temptation
Reverend Ben Cooper:by what?
Simon Pinchbeck:by the word
Reverend Ben Cooper:of God, by the power of speech
Simon Pinchbeck:by the Rima strike by strike. So there we go in just in just the one of the temptations. He said, turn those lobes as soon those stones into loaves. Yes. Yeah, Jesus surrounds it. Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word Come on, by every word. So you've got the thing is every temptation you've got, you've got an answer for, in which in the word in the word, every temptation you've got,
Reverend Ben Cooper:and it takes almost everything, someone has got to resist the temptation of Lucifer. So Lucifer was in the garden in the creation, Lucifer is with Christ. Now, in the area of the woundedness, the desert experience, and he's tempting, as he tempted Eve and Adam, they fell, crash resisted. He resisted and he brought the word to it just isn't it interesting to to know, if you, I don't, when I say study, Lucifer, but what I mean by that is to understand what his agenda is. When you look in when you're fatigued, you trace him historically, and find out what he was where it came from. He wanted to be worshipped. Yeah, he wanted to be God. He wanted to be equal, and more. What's really important is that he knows the Word of God. In that place. He was quoting Psalms and he was quoting Deuteronomy. He was quoting the word to the word to the word when the word was its fleshly. earthly, lowest, lowest Yeah. So Christ did not raise a hand he did not he could have just written Lucifer right off the face that He just won't
Simon Pinchbeck:Yeah, easily call on the angels because
Reverend Ben Cooper:it is written, yeah, it is written.
Simon Pinchbeck:So I think I think that is not taught then that is not nice, not taurima strikes are not taught a Lagasse's a written word. reamers is a spoken word. And if you use them as a strike, yes, force, they're a force and that is, you know, our weapons of warfare are not
Reverend Ben Cooper:carnal for pulling down,
Simon Pinchbeck:pulling the speaking out. Yeah. And not from our own strength but manner, the strength of Jesus Christ.
Reverend Ben Cooper:That's right. So that makes me think what the scripture says out of your belly. Sure. rivers of living water. But if you are not fed the word you don't know the word don't notice in all times of crisis and temptation and fears, if you haven't been given the word from the church if you haven't been taught the word and you've been taught man's understanding a man have suddenly decided that he's written and he wrote his own Bible. And we're going to use Marwan today and we're going to use my literature. You're not given the word to use the word in your battle. No, no, they say you've got fluffy stuff that is just not not going to do nothing.
Simon Pinchbeck:You know? We're, we're, we're body soul and spirit. Yeah. We feed the body. Yeah, most of us three times a day sometimes.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Benny fortunes.
Simon Pinchbeck:That's why you got so we feed the body, your favorite body food, the flesh?
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah. The soul.
Simon Pinchbeck:The mind is a straight face. We feed it with emotion. Yeah, emotion, feel good.
Reverend Ben Cooper:adrenalin, attract all that stuff, attraction, natural perception. So our flesh has more. Gotta be careful outsiders, but I think we're going to understand what many of the flesh can have more power over the spirit, maybe because the spirit may hasn't been fed.
Simon Pinchbeck:You're 100%, right? Because how do we feed the spirit? Through the Word of God through
Reverend Ben Cooper:the Word of God?
Simon Pinchbeck:And the thing is, if you would just read in this stuff, yeah. And without the spirit. Yeah, it's information. That's why the spirit is revelation. So we need to read it within the spirit. So we need that relationship with it's it's it's not rocket science. Not clearly.
Reverend Ben Cooper:A simple add on that. That is, that is what Christ, he has kept it so simple. Yeah, just come and follow me. Don't try and work anything out. Just read the word. Trust me. Trust me, trust me. And trust me, never give up hope. You never give up Hebrews 11 verse one. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for. The evidence of things not seen. Yeah, since a substance is, is the power. So and the Bible says that just shall live by faith free times, it says that, but the world does everything by side by side by side by touch by touchy feely by by
Simon Pinchbeck:physical reaction, emotional reaction,
Reverend Ben Cooper:everything is done. Like,
Simon Pinchbeck:listen, I, you know, to be careful, but I know people that that just purely live on their emotions. Yeah. And their lives are up and down. They're reacting to their feelings. Yes, you react to your feelings, and you are you never be at peace. And you're one minute down the next, though, as a Christian, we gotta be constantly speaking to the spirit. We have a spirit. Yeah, the Spirit of God, you know, we, as we do the real map of Christ with he has a great saying he said, he says, We drive the Holy Spirit up to a situation and just open the door and let him out.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Let him do his thing. let God do what he's gonna do. let God do what he's gonna do. But we always want to facilitate we want to help we always want to do it our way.
Simon Pinchbeck:Well, this this podcast, these podcasts that we do are a prime example. If we, if we try to control this thing, if we try to keep it if I said if I rang you the night before. So Ben, we're going to talk on this this and yeah, but keep it straight and go we don't want to be moving from this and that what would come out it would just be a lot
Reverend Ben Cooper:of flesh words, a lot of banter in the back.
Simon Pinchbeck:But when we open this up and saw Holy Spirit getting involved there. And like we said before, when we listen to this stuff back ago, I can't even remember saying that now, where did it come from? The spirit goes, just put it on your eyes God, just coming out your mouth, which is, which is why these Remus dice are so important. I would. I would. I would but I love the Lord just if you just I've always said to people really just get a few scriptures. Yeah. And, and memorize them or amount. Yeah, not under your stern but under what Jesus has done for you. And you can declare and proclaim this style area over your over your life
Reverend Ben Cooper:over your life every day. Praise God
Simon Pinchbeck:not in your ocean, but in in because of what Jesus has done for you. You're more than a conqueror because what Jesus has done for you because what he's done for me for you, not for me for what I've done for me, not because of you
Reverend Ben Cooper:because of me because I can't do it without Christ on nothing. You can
Simon Pinchbeck:do all things through Christ but because of Christ strategy you not because not because
Reverend Ben Cooper:of me, not because of you, but the world makes it all about you. And you can go and live the dream you can have what you want. Very darwinistic trampling on each other to get to the top of the ivory tower, you get up to the top of the tower, you look out across the plains and think this is really lonely, that's damaged people on the way through I've upset people I've I've caused serious issues to get to this place. And the office floor at the top is empty. There's no one here but me been climbing the tower.
Simon Pinchbeck:Sadly, we have a whole lot of Christian rhetoric. And yeah, a lot of chrystia men and women that have built a whole ministries on putting you at the center and using the Scripture. Yeah, put you at the center. Yeah. So you can do all things will reverse out of the context. The troll things you can do all things like God shall supply all because you are the center because
Reverend Ben Cooper:it's all about me. It's all about me, you know. And
Simon Pinchbeck:so we've got to remember, so never give up never giving up these scriptures in your back pocket a grain of salt 91 in your back. Yeah, get that in the
Reverend Ben Cooper:society in being treated that you said that if there's only one particular place that you could turn to in times of issues is Psalm 91. Turn to that Psalm 91. And get that in, put it off. Yeah, put it on the fridge read every day you go to the fridge every time you get some chocolate, or some lettuce, you know, fish and I will not keep chocolate in our fridge. Of course we don't. But you put Psalm 91 on your fridge and you get there and you're right at your stand in front of fridge and you read it. Get it in your spirit, but use it use it
Simon Pinchbeck:because it you know Psalm 91 people say you know, it's a great protection. But if you read it, it says it virtually says yes. But if you seek Me and seeking refuge and seek my kingdom and ceasing seek me say to me, then yeah, then you can
Reverend Ben Cooper:prolong life.
Simon Pinchbeck:proclaim everything declared reclaim this over your life.
Reverend Ben Cooper:So what we always say and what the scripture always says is Jesus first. The word First comes first the Spirit of God, Father, Son, Holy Spirit, whatever way we want to look at that and discuss that. I seek the God of Israel. I seek Jesus, I seek the Holy Spirit. You know, it has to be
Simon Pinchbeck:we need weapons don't we need? We need armor and and but but we're not a defensive in a defensive mode. We're in an attacking mode you see if you see. But
Reverend Ben Cooper:you will see the you will see the Israelites with David. Yeah, like when Goliath when Goliath came out every morning and shouted, they ran. You might be true that this is our see the church the church is dressed like King. So you can imagine what that army looked like. They was probably loaded with every weaponry possible. It looked good on the outside. But when the enemy comes, the church run back. Looks good. It looks all look. Yeah, it's dressed is carrying this. It's got this it's got that. But when it comes to the battle, but we understand the battle belongs to the Lord. Yeah. Ephesians we get Ephesians be dressed in a ready. I've got to be hopeful in all things. I've got to press. The battle belongs to the Lord. But the churches look good for generations. But when trouble rolls up, and the government comes to the doors and says close, we back up boy when David ran, ran down, he ran to the problem to about you know, and he said, in beautiful words, you come against me with saw Javelin, and everything you've got I come in the name of the Lord. That is powerful. That's kind of in the name of the
Simon Pinchbeck:loan the name of the Lord. You see in the world. People will come out with stuff out of their mouth. Yeah. fear and doubt and all that sort of garbage will come out of their mouths. What we have got the double edged sword of the Word of God to me on the word the spirit of the of the sword. Yeah. He says in Jeremiah 2329. My Word is like a mighty hammer that smashes rock in the pieces.
Reverend Ben Cooper:When you think about that. Yeah. And we always battleaxe moment. The church is not a feather duster
Simon Pinchbeck:we use my word is Deanna
Reverend Ben Cooper:and we're battleaxe who were for, for breaking down territory for stronghold. busting doors open. You know we are his instrument, we should be loaded with Word.
Simon Pinchbeck:The enemy wants you to sit back in your lazy boy chair giving in giving up. He wants to take out as many as many Christians as he can.
Reverend Ben Cooper:And how did he do that? Very simple, simple the way that he does that. He takes the word out of everything, of culture out of life, he uses the law to strip the Word of God out. See, you go back a few generations and people know the word of God. The youth these days, don't know the word.
Simon Pinchbeck:I don't even know how Jesus sees on his Christmas. He don't even know
Reverend Ben Cooper:what that Yeah, so the word has been stripped out, year after year after year. So when you've got a generation that don't know the word, and you've got people in church that don't know the word, what have you got? The enemy don't even need a fight you just always got to do is take the word out, then you come away. And look, you know,
Simon Pinchbeck:looking for a little bit of inspiration from from a song or a feelgood factor won't be touched by the spirit of this time never know is the word of God looking at that the Our Father, in the Lord's Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth is in heaven. So it is already telling you Yes, we will be done on on earth as it is in episode is already telling you there's a battle going on in the spiritual realm for his for before he's fully his will to be done. The
Reverend Ben Cooper:Battle of words was in Genesis, the Battle of words. It's been from Genesis right away until the battle of Armageddon, the rapture of the church, eschatology all that old jazz and razzmatazz that goes along with that the Battle of the word. Am I following the word or am I gonna listen to another word and follow that word? We've had too much of a watered down gospel, the gospel has been peddled for cash. Look at Simon the sorcerer. Now we take a lot of reference to that little fella. He's upstairs or downstairs. Come in, come in, tell us. He said, I'll have some of that. gonna pay you for that God. But already before that, isn't it interesting what the culture and the community said about him. It's like God is doing great things. It's like a God that he's doing miracles things are happening. happening through witchcraft, sorcery, black magic, occultic activity. And there are many things happening. paganism is rife in the church,
Simon Pinchbeck:all the way through the church
Reverend Ben Cooper:all the way through. So there are things happening in the church that are happening from the wrong side of the cross. But the church don't recognize these from the wrong side of the cross because it's a sign and a wonder. To fingers. But where's it come from? You don't know the word to recognize the difference?
Simon Pinchbeck:Exactly. You know, check out your word. Is it scriptural is this does this happen in Scripture? The
Reverend Ben Cooper:Bible says test every spirit, every spirit test everything, everything we say, for the for the visual for the audio, check everything,
Simon Pinchbeck:check everything,
Reverend Ben Cooper:check his research, listen, look, get the word out. See what What does the word say?
Simon Pinchbeck:What does he words? Yeah, Ben, as you know, last week, and I was led to a quote and I'm gonna paraphrase it it's it's, it's from Winston Churchill. I don't know if anyone remembers old Willie Churchill. He said this, he said, and I'm going to paraphrase it he said that never given in great or small these are not dark days, but sterner days. These are great days. Everyone doing their part for the kingdom never give in. Never surrender to the enemy. Never Look Back, never never, never given. How spiritual is that?
Reverend Ben Cooper:quote? Yeah.
Simon Pinchbeck:Never give it
Reverend Ben Cooper:never give it never given to the enemy.
Simon Pinchbeck:Yeah. Now look back. He never looked back
Reverend Ben Cooper:when that needs to be pulled over in a way that we are talking in the spirit world. We don't give in to the spiritual forces because the battle says that our battle isn't against flesh and blood against each other. Yeah, but the battle that lies in the heavenly realms, you know, that's where the fight is, is resisting the enemy's temptation, the enemy. The greatest thing that the enemy uses is his voice, his voice of temptation.
Simon Pinchbeck:I'm going to tell you a bit, you know, and I'm not the only one. I know that you you're with me in this but we are in the middle of the business. spiritual battle right now. Yeah, the biggest spiritual battle since the cross. Yeah, we cannot give up praying. I mean, don't give up fast and we cannot give up getting into the word and surround ourselves with the word. The church is, you know, sadly sleepwalking into the stuff that is coming. Yeah. And they just gone along with everything the government is exactly is throwing on honors, you know, and, and we will be tired and we will be weary and it will be tough it will be, it will be and this is exhausting. And a couple of scriptures in one Samuel 36. David was in ziklag it's been everything I've been liking from everything, everything had been gone. And the look like these men were even going to come and attack him and bang him in stone him and what did he say? What does it say in that in that scripture? It says David encouraged himself in the Lord.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Lord, I got encouraged myself in the Lord not
Simon Pinchbeck:so what did he do? He pursued and I took another claim and he took back he took back
Reverend Ben Cooper:everything stolen what the enemy had taken so
Simon Pinchbeck:at the real lowest point there
Reverend Ben Cooper:at your weakest your tightest when your flesh is all done when people around you that you walk with that you've even been in a battle with Yeah, want to tear you down or tear you down? Yeah, you seek the word.
Simon Pinchbeck:It's just a small thing encouraged yourself in the Lord is God.
Reverend Ben Cooper:He cried. Shannon hollering
Simon Pinchbeck:but I pursued another game and that's
Reverend Ben Cooper:Atari thing in it pursuing Yeah. Pursuing ninja overtake? Yeah, when you're tired. When you're exhausted. Yeah, there's a big time you've got pursue. So you've got to sniff out the enemy. You've got pressing. And when you get to where they are, you got to overtake, yeah, but in the overtaking and then a pursuing, you've got to be refreshed by the power gun. pretty well. Word through the word, he can only be the word that will strengthen you and encourage you and drive you. We are limited fleshly.
Simon Pinchbeck:So that that that grew that scripture and Haggai that came across was, be strong, be strong, be strong for the Lord your God is with you. Be strong.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Be strong, be strong for the Lord, your God is with you. How personal is that? Yeah. That is right into the depths of your heart, your innermost being right into your
Simon Pinchbeck:spirit. And you see your
Reverend Ben Cooper:God your load is with you.
Simon Pinchbeck:So we've you if that those words that go down deep and are planted inside of you. Yeah. When you're going through that stuff. Just bring it forth and speak it for Be strong. Be strong, be strong. Be strong for the Lord your God is with you. And all of a sudden, the backup camera. Yeah, start the look. And you started Yeah, I'm okay. I can I can move forward. And sometimes been Yeah, it's a matter of inches in it.
Reverend Ben Cooper:It literally just yeah. Tiny just little creek, a little creek. As we're moving forward. Yeah, that's the thing. just just just one thing. Never give up. Never got to the end of the day. I resisted that today.
Simon Pinchbeck:Yes, yes. To this place,
Reverend Ben Cooper:I resisted. I've got to the end of the day, Lord, I didn't go and look at that thing on my phone. I got to the end of the day, Lord, have made it and I didn't touch a bottle of stellar arturis you didn't know I didn't know how to get to the end of the day and have a little scratch card on the way I'm done. Because I called on you. I called on you because I can't do it. But with him I can do and that
Simon Pinchbeck:is the key to it.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Oh yeah.
Simon Pinchbeck:I didn't do this in my own strength. I can break the strong and that is submission that can't pollute. Yep. And that's when when God can can work with you. That's when you listen. He's got this and I don't know who's listening to this. But he's got amazing plans. Yeah, but not not because you are who you are. But because you submit yourself to Him and you're totally obedient. Because get this. Listen, what is this? Galatians six.
Reverend Ben Cooper:We're ready Lord.
Simon Pinchbeck:Galatians six nine tells us let us not be weary, in doing good for in due season. We shall reap. If we do not lose heart. Don't lose heart. You might be one step away from your, from your crate for door. Yeah, you may be one step away, and you turn back and loads go in just a bit more. It's just just some Almost gets to five o'clock.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah, get to five o'clock
Simon Pinchbeck:for some people that may be what it is just get
Reverend Ben Cooper:to five just just get yourself out of the office get in your car and go home just just get out. Just get your job done and go just go Yeah, just turn the right way down the middle way tonight don't go the other way. Just Just go home just go home just don't stop in a petrol garriage don't get another tinny No, I'm getting down just just drive by two stroke average. You're late to scratch car pay for your fuel. interest. Now the enemy tempts us at the tail. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you could win a million quid. Just one little card. And then addiction comes in.
Simon Pinchbeck:I know someone who's lost. Yeah,
Reverend Ben Cooper:yeah. Listen, it's that that's that that is that's it. The fingers.
Simon Pinchbeck:Listen to this. Isaiah 4610 toes tells us that God knows the end from the beginning.
Reverend Ben Cooper:He does Isaiah. Amazing.
Simon Pinchbeck:He knows the end from the beginning. So he knows he knows where you're
Reverend Ben Cooper:going. And he says, He says, I am God. There is no other like me. I am gone. There is no other. There's no like me.
Simon Pinchbeck:Don't he's not surprised. But what you're going through,
Reverend Ben Cooper:I know, the end. From the beginning. Where was the beginning? In the beginning was the Word. So the beginning is in Genesis before or was created. So when God said very clearly to Adam, if you touch that tree, you'll die. So redemption plan was already in place already in place? Yeah. So he knows. He knows. He knows. He knows my failures, my weaknesses, my troubles. My doubt. He knows everything about me. So I just got to start living for Jesus. Totally and live in for Jesus.
Simon Pinchbeck:And, you know,
Reverend Ben Cooper:drop your nets come and follow me
Simon Pinchbeck:what Ben was saying there. What is so so true. Sometimes all of us are hanging on by
Reverend Ben Cooper:the edge of the table or this
Simon Pinchbeck:one step. But we can get on and one more scripture. We're gonna pull forward. Yeah. little step by step. Like I said, you know, just stay away from our website. Just stay away from
Reverend Ben Cooper:Petrocaribe.
Simon Pinchbeck:Yeah, just walk away from
Reverend Ben Cooper:away. Just go walk past the tough accountants.
Simon Pinchbeck:And and if you know you're getting frustrated or angry with your kids, or they're getting on your nerves, just take time out to say timeout before you walk through the door. Just give yourself 1015 minutes a break just a brief, declutter just a brief. And when you walk through the door, give your family everything that the Lord wants you
Reverend Ben Cooper:to go. Just little steps, little steps but massive achievements.
Simon Pinchbeck:There's a huge harvest out there, man.
Reverend Ben Cooper:It's enormous.
Simon Pinchbeck:And and the Lord knows the Lord knows and is using us all for this time. This time has been a pollicis
Reverend Ben Cooper:the season. It's been appointed to us. This is the moment. This is the moment in this pandemic, in the bubble in the lockdown with everything doors of the church are shot. Churches trying to go back to the old skipping rope. But it's done. This time
Simon Pinchbeck:is now wanted to us yet
Reverend Ben Cooper:now. Because now I'm doing a new thing. Yeah. Now a new thing is being birthed. What the Old Testament now I'm doing a new thing. Mozart. Oh, God. Yeah. Now I'm doing a new thing. new thing. A lot. I want the skipping right with church again.
Simon Pinchbeck:I want that. I just want safety net. I wanna say,
Reverend Ben Cooper:I want to skip on a Sunday morning with my
Simon Pinchbeck:one little dummy.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Boy. Yeah. Well done. Good sermon, Pastor. Oh, no.
Simon Pinchbeck:We're living we're living for.
Reverend Ben Cooper:We're live. In fact, Jesus Christ, one of you for Jesus course. 100%. Right. And that that scripture where it talks about the form of things are falling away. I'm doing a no thing.
Simon Pinchbeck:There'll be rivers in the desert roads in the wilderness.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah. We are living in very prophetic and very powerful times. And then obviously, we were coming or finish it guys and gals, wherever you're watching and listening, wherever you are. The most important thing we could ever say to anybody is follow Jesus.
Simon Pinchbeck:Follow Jesus. Don't give up. Don't give up the ghost writer. Do you know something? Then let me tell you. The enemy ain't worried if you start something really not worried. He's seen 1000s and 1000s and 1000s of people start things. Yeah. And they come up and say this is a great idea. That's a great idea. He's not worried. What gets us there. tension is when you don't give up. Don't give in and you persevere, and you press. And what's he saying? James 112 been blessed are those who persevere under under trial? Because under trial because they will be blessed.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah, perseverance, perseverance must finish.
Simon Pinchbeck:Those who enjoy will be saved. Come on. That's what gets his attention. That's when you that's when someone that is radical
Reverend Ben Cooper:for me.
Simon Pinchbeck:That's when you're going to radical, radical, radical. That's the radical,
Reverend Ben Cooper:radical. I've got to believe what the scripture says the Bible, the Bible pin was I had never heard of the Bible. So I'll put my coffee cup on the Bible that the Bible says, keep your eyes on the author perfecter of our faith. Keep your eyes on everything you go for, but the churches Keep your eyes on the author of the latest book, Pastor. Okay, your eyes on Jesus, you keep your eyes on JSON Web ever.
Simon Pinchbeck:The trouble is when radical faith radical faith comes before radical obedience
Reverend Ben Cooper:Exactly. comes before Yeah, amazing. Yeah, yeah. things from Jesus. It's all about Jesus. Yeah. Um, radical faith, radical faith. Now, yeah,
Simon Pinchbeck:as you said, into the guest to enter the petrol station, ignoring the scratch squad, but listening to the word when he says, gone tell that guy over there, he's going through a bit of a tough time. Just come and you know, see how he is with tell him about my son Jesus. Yeah. Oh, no, Lord. You know, I just, I've got to get back with Sally. I want to watch this, you know,
Reverend Ben Cooper:and almost got it going. But you listen to the devil telling you to get the ball. You listen to the devil telling you to get the scratch card. But listen to me telling you to God talk to that man. Because that man could be on the edge of suicide.
Simon Pinchbeck:100% so on bounce, the bounce out is this. Yeah. The bouncer is this. Refusing to take that scratch or refusing to go in a bar. That six pack exactly gives you the strength to listen to the Lord to bounce on to encourage someone else.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah, that can be the biggest fight anyone will ever have is putting fuel in the car. In the van, walking up through the doors, putting your mask on keeping your distance. The silence in the petrol station. You're getting closer to the tail. Just one card. Yeah, just this one. could get you out of debt. We missed this one.
Simon Pinchbeck:Is this one? Yes. This one. The whisper is
Reverend Ben Cooper:one. Cool. Yeah. And if you get the card and your win, tie out of it. Oh, no doubt. What
Simon Pinchbeck:am I gonna give you a lord? Oh, Lord. So you, you in you, then you're using exactly Jesus as a genie in a bottle instead of just allowing him to walk through your life? Yeah. Because imagine that. No, no, I'm not going there to die. I'm not good enough scratchcard though, unless you pay for your fuel. As you step out, the Lord goes well down. Now go and tell that guy yeah, he wants to do the same thing as what you were gonna do. Just because you might you know, I just lost got all my art that you were gonna buy a few Scratch. Scratch cards. Yeah, I've got a 10 I was gonna do that. We say no. Just Say No. Just Say No. Because there's a there's a there's a God that loves you out there. Is that Jesus Christ.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Free even though go for the valley of the shadow of death. I go for a valley and the Valley of temptation. The valley the valley, the valley. Fire just grab that if I just grabbed the Xs if I just get some cigarettes for just grab a quick ball.
Simon Pinchbeck:And what is he saying? The Internet? You lay a table before me in the presence of my enemies. And let me tell you this. This is cornucopia which is a great word. And
Reverend Ben Cooper:that is all about young mothers
Simon Pinchbeck:a whole table full of stuff. Oh, thank you eat it from one corner. nibin a cracker. I want you to get involved in the full band, a football banquet because at the end of the day, yeah. What do we want to wear? What do we want to wear up and say, Come on, Ben, what do we want to wear?
Reverend Ben Cooper:We want to read God's sight of us well done. good and faithful servant. That's what we want. We got to hear
Simon Pinchbeck:how worldly praise or reward we want to a godsend
Reverend Ben Cooper:when this so drops to the floor. And God calls me on and I'm standing in front of the Creator of heaven enough. Welcome.
Simon Pinchbeck:Yeah,
Reverend Ben Cooper:that's that's that is all I want to hear. He does. That is my goal. He doesn't get into heaven. We
Simon Pinchbeck:don't want to hear him say that person. Can I ask you to go and speak to but you was a little bit too busy.
Reverend Ben Cooper:He was in a rush.
Simon Pinchbeck:Yeah, we've got someone else to speak to him down the line, but the You didn't need you know, we I would love you to spoken to him. And I have a whole list of people here that I would love to have spoken. Why
Reverend Ben Cooper:didn't you deliver that message? Yeah. Why didn't you preach? I you should Why did you? Why did you follow worldly things?
Simon Pinchbeck:really tell them the truth and ditching he didn't really stand in there. He didn't really stand there and eyes are burning right into the hole now
Reverend Ben Cooper:Hawk got well done good and faithful, Well done,
Simon Pinchbeck:good and faithful servant. Next place,
Reverend Ben Cooper:and then you look over Jesus's shoulder. That's the man that you should have delivered the message to someone else delivered the message to who's in the kingdom. And he's in a big mansion. And he's out there
Simon Pinchbeck:10 storey house
Reverend Ben Cooper:I've rushed down. I went back for the boxing. And it would have taken me seconds just to say, Jesus got Yeah, yeah, Jesus loves you.
Simon Pinchbeck:That's having a go for Jesus. That's just that is it that sermon ago in a nutshell, but the
Reverend Ben Cooper:church should give you the pulpit. It'll tell you you gotta have the pulpit before.
Simon Pinchbeck:Oh, no, please
Reverend Ben Cooper:don't you just gotta be in the market and go, you know what, I'm gonna pray for you.
Simon Pinchbeck:They'll give you a spreadsheet, a set of questions and answers, all that sort of stuff. No, no. Listen, Jesus let the Holy Spirit because he calls you to it. It will put you through it. And that is the truth.
Reverend Ben Cooper:And I get you through it. It will get you through it.
Simon Pinchbeck:Yeah, amen. Ben, do you want to pray for anyone? Right?
Reverend Ben Cooper:Yeah, church that what we do in church. I feel the Lord
Simon Pinchbeck:of bilpin we should end this with a prayer for you is string out some for people that don't listen to this. They're on the very edge maybe have given up and turning back into the world.
Reverend Ben Cooper:Okay, come on. Let's this. Father, we just thank you for this time, Lord, when we can just chat and be completely open.
