Unshakeable - Daily Devotional - @10 - Battling Spiritual Heaviness
Stand Firm – The Armor of God
Scripture Focus: Ephesians 6:10–18
Podcast Series: Unshakable – A Daily Christian Devotional Podcast
Have you ever carried an unexplainable weight that pressed on your spirit? That heaviness may not just be stress or fatigue—it could be evidence of a deeper, unseen spiritual battle. In today’s episode of Unshakable: A Daily Christian Devotional Podcast, Reverend Ben Cooper leads us through a powerful devotion grounded in Ephesians 6:10–18, helping us understand how to be spiritually equipped in a world full of unseen warfare.
God calls us not to strive in our own strength, but to “be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” This short but powerful daily devotional podcast reveals that the spiritual battles we face are not ours to win alone. Instead, we are instructed to stand firm while clothed in God’s divine armor. The victory belongs to Him.
Reverend Ben unpacks the six essential pieces of the Armor of God:
- The belt of truth
- The breastplate of righteousness
- The shoes of the gospel of peace
- The shield of faith
- The helmet of salvation
- The sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God
Each of these is more than a metaphor—they’re essential tools for spiritual survival. Whether you're feeling emotionally drained, spiritually attacked, or simply overwhelmed, today’s devotional prayer offers both biblical insight and practical encouragement to help you remain grounded in God’s protection and peace.
This episode is perfect for those seeking a quick yet spiritually rich reset in their day. Whether you’re listening during your commute, lunch break, or early morning quiet time, Unshakable is your trusted daily devotion.

Now let's dive into today's devotional and discover the power of God's unshakable truth, wherever you are across this world. As I always say, let's get in the greatest book the world has ever seen. We are going to the book of Ephesians, chapter 6, and we are going to pick this up today at verse 10. Whatever your day looks like, however, your life is being reflected right now. I want to encourage you through this daily Christian devotional podcast that never give up, because God is with you, and I want you to be strong and I want you to trust God's word like never before. And also I'm repeating this and saying this and bringing myself to this as well. We've got to encourage one another wherever we are across this world. I want to pick this up in verse 10 of Ephesians, chapter 6. This podcast is just raw and live. You know we record these straight away and they are put out within hours, within hours of them going live on Spotify and all the other podcasting platforms. But we want to encourage you today to be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Speaker 1:Whatever you face, whatever your life is reflecting at this moment in time. Are you on the commute? Are you on the school run? Are you at home? Is it summer holidays? Where you are? Are you on vacation? Have you taken time out? Have you retired? Are you looking at ministry? What is your life reflecting like at this moment in time? Do you find that life is quite hard at the moment? Things are extremely difficult. Do you think that there could be a bit of spiritual battle going on without us realizing?
Speaker 1:I believe that where we sit according to the world, according to the Bible, more than actually the world, and you know what I mean. I want to encourage you now. We are getting ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ, but we want to dive straight into this unshakable daily Christian devotion. And we are in, as I said, the book of Ephesians, chapter 6, verse 10. But do you feel that there is a spiritual heaviness? Do you feel that there is a spiritual heaviness? Do you feel that there is a weight upon your shoulders? Do you feel that you are, you are pressed on all sides according to the word of God? Do you feel that you're walking through this continuous valley of heaviness and weight? I just wonder.
Speaker 1:I'm asking myself this question this morning, at this hour, wherever you are. Is there a spiritual heaviness onto my life that I've never seen before? I believe there is. Is it because of the lifestyle choices? No, is it because I've done something wrong? No, it is because of the calendar is showing us, according to the word of God, that Jesus Christ is preparing the bride of Christ.
Speaker 1:So now is a time to get ready spiritually, to be encouraged and to stand firm in the gospel of truth. So what I am saying is simply what verse 10 says in the book of Ephesians, chapter 6. Finally, be strong in the Lord and his mighty power. When I look at that text, that really makes my heart sing today, because God is telling us to be encouraged in the trials, in the tests, in the worries and in the fears. Let's just read this one more time Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Let's be strong together. Let's believe for miracles, let's trust in God's unfailing love.
Speaker 1:And as we come to a time of prayer, through this daily devotional podcast, I want to tell you and encourage you today never give up. Be encouraged that the word of God is over your life. Be encouraged today that all things are possible to those who believe. So, as we step into a moment of prayer, will you join me in prayer Wherever you are? Shall we ask God that he will keep us strong and fervent for the gospel of Jesus Christ? Father, as we come to you in prayer right now, in the greatest name in heaven and earth, father, we bow the knee. We bow the knee to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, and we are expecting.
Speaker 1:We are expecting a miracle today and, lord, through the gospel of hope, through the word of God, lord, through your power, through your anointing and through your love, we are expecting strength. Today, lord, you tell us finally be strong in the Lord. And Lord, will you help me and my brothers and sisters across the world to be strong in the Lord. Will you help me to rise as on wings, as of eagles? Will you help me to rise out of the ashes of life and, lord, will you help me to be strong? You can almost hear the Lord saying what do you want to be strong for, ben, Lord? I want to be strong to make proper decisions. I want to be wise, lord. I want to be wise in your eyes, lord. I want the wisdom of God. I want the wisdom of Christ. I want the wisdom of the word of God. I'm being bold there. I want the wisdom of God. Come on God, come on Jesus.
Speaker 1:Wherever we are at this moment in time, lord, we thank you that this is real, this is authentic. This is. We thank you that this is real, this is authentic, this is straight out the can of truth, this daily devotional podcast. And as we come to you in the rawness, lord, in the beauty, in your majesty, in your sovereignty, we cry out today, lord, we cry out holy, holy, holy is the Lord, but we believe, we believe in miracles. The Lord, but we believe, we believe in miracles. And today, just as the word of God says, we put on the armor of God and, finally, we're being strong, strong to make decisions, strong to make the right understanding, the right lifestyle choices. We are finally being strong in the Lord. And what do you mean, jesus? What do you mean through that text? Finally be strong in the Lord. And what do you mean, jesus, what do you mean through that text? Finally be strong in the Lord.
Speaker 1:We understand that the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit is omnipotent. Omnipresent. God is everywhere. God is in all things, All things are possible to those who believe. So what does it mean, what does it mean, rev, what does it mean, reverend Ben, to be strong in the Lord? I believe? I believe it's a simple understanding like this we understand that the word of God is from Genesis to Revelation and what we need is to make a life application, because that's what we need to do A life application so that I will put this into a physical application, so that my life and I stretch out in faith. So today, lord, I believe, when you tell us to be strong in the Lord is to take the scripture, to walk by faith, to step out of the boat of comfort and believe that we can walk on water. I've got to see it first. So, lord, will you help me to be strong in my vision and in my dream, not to waver, but to be strong in the Lord. You know, the word of God will carry you, the word of God will lift you, the word of God will feed you, the word of God will get you to your destinational point. I believe.
Speaker 1:Can I be completely open and honest for this devotion this morning? I believe that we may have lost our identity through the church. I believe that we may have lost our identity through life, through finances, through materialism, through ministry, through relationships, through family. I believe that there are many people in our lives that are trying to mold us, trying to shape us and trying to be the vessel that they want us to be. But who does God want you to be this morning, at this, this hour, this afternoon or this evening, whenever you capture this podcast? Who is God calling you to be? It takes strength to be the person that God is calling you to be. It will take everything, but the Bible says seek you first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and everything else shall be added unto thee. So when we look at the scriptures that we're in are we allowing god to shape us, and that takes strength. So the bible says in verse 10 of ephesians, chapter 6 finally, be strong in the lord and in his mighty power.
Speaker 1:Verse 11 put on the full armor of god so that you can stand and take the test that the devil schemes. Schemes come at you, for our struggle isn't against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of darkness of this world, against the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms. You know, are you feeling heavy today? Are you feeling the weight of the world, so to speak? I want to encourage you. Wherever you are, whatever your culture, whatever lifestyle you're looking at at this moment, however old you are, whatever life may be pushing down the corridor of your life, I believe there is a great miracle waiting for you. I believe that there's not just one miracle, but there's uncountable miracles for you. Today, in this 15-minute Christian devotional podcast, as we come before the cross of Calvary today, I want to tell you and encourage you be strong in the Lord and put on the armor.
Speaker 1:Read that book of Ephesians, chapter 6. Put on the armor today when you go to school. Put on the armor when you go to work, put on the armor. When you leave the house, wherever you live, put on the armor of God. And you know what? Lord, we take it off, but we shouldn't take it off. It should be a continuum. We are always dressed in the armor, we're always ready for battle.
Speaker 1:But hang on, let's just wait a moment. What do you mean? We're dressed ready for battle? I don't feel like fighting. I don't want to fight. We're not saying fight. What we're saying is stand your ground. Stand your ground and be ready. But be dressed and be ready, because the Bible says the battle belongs to the Lord. Whatever your name is, whoever you are, the battle that you face is is God's.
Speaker 1:So when the Bible says be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power, what does that mean? We come to the cross daily. The Bible says pick up your cross and follow me. It takes strength beyond human understanding to lay everything down at the cross of Calvary and to stand at that cross. Visualize that cross now, wherever you are, and say to yourself Father, in the name of Jesus, as I stand at the cross of Calvary, as I visualize this cross, as I've got it in my dream world, lord, I've got it in my forefront of my thinking. I stand at the cross of Calvary and, lord, I leave my battles, I leave my fears, I leave my doubts and, lord, I take up the strength for the word of God. And, lord, I stand strong in your scripture and I thank you, lord, that I haven't got to battle my way through life, that I haven't got to jump in the arena with any human being, but, lord, all I got to do is be dressed in the full armor for the protection of the skin that I walk in against the vials and what the enemy throws my way.
Speaker 1:So, lord, will you help me to get dressed today? Will you help me put on the armor, lord, on this beautiful, heavenly armor? Will you help me to put on the breastplate of righteousness, lord? Will you help me to put on the breastplate of righteousness, lord? Will you help me to carry the sword of the spirit? Will you help me, lord, to pick up the shield of faith? Will you help me to put on the helmet of salvation, the buckle of truth around my waist, lord? Will you help me put on the gospel of peace on my feet, lord? Will you help me to be dressed and ready? But, lord, I thank you.
Speaker 1:All I've got to do is get ready and stand firm, because the battle belongs to you. So today, lord, wherever we are scattered across this beautiful world, I pray, lord, that we will realize. All I've got to do is be dressed and allow the Holy Spirit to work in me and through me. But, lord, as I get dressed ready for battle, I haven't got to fight, I've just got to be faithful through the word, because the battle belongs to the Lord. According to the scripture, the battle is God's. The battle is the triune Godhead, the father of Isaac, jacob and Abraham. The battle belongs to the God of Israel.
Speaker 1:All we got to do today is get dressed in scripture. So, as you rise, maybe in the middle of the day, in the evening, as you're unwinding, as you're preparing for the day, wherever you are, whatever your time zone is, shall we get dressed in the full armor of God? And, lord, as we get dressed in the armor, will you make sure that we always stay dressed, that we never want to take off the helmet of salvation, we never want to drop the sword of the spirit? Lord, we want to be dressed and ready, but, lord, we also want to be ready within ourselves to say Jesus, I thank you that the battle belongs to the Lord. I love you, lord, and I bless the most beautiful name in heaven and earth and wherever you are today, whatever your name is, god is calling you. God is calling you to grace, god is calling you to mercy, god is calling you to walk different, and he's speaking to me today, today.
