Be Strong and Courageous | Joshua 1:6 — Daily Christian Prayer Devotion

Daily Prayers for Strength | Daily Prayer Podcast | Morning Devotionals UK & Global

Welcome to the Daily Christian Prayer Devotion Podcast—a powerful, Spirit-led prayer experience designed to anchor your faith every single day. Today’s prayer focus, taken from Joshua 1:6, is both timely and timeless:

“Be strong and courageous, for you shall lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.”

These aren’t just ancient words—they’re living promises for anyone facing uncertainty, fear, or spiritual resistance. This 5-minute daily prayer devotional is your opportunity to pause, realign your heart, and receive boldness through the presence of God.

Devotional Focus: Strength & Courage in the Face of Fear

What does it truly mean to “be strong and courageous” in today’s world of anxiety, instability, and spiritual warfare? This short, impactful prayer reveals that biblical courage is not rooted in personality—it’s birthed in God’s presence.

You’ll be guided to:

  • Declare God's Word over your situation
  • Choose faith when fear whispers loudly
  • Recognize courage as a spiritual decision, not an emotional reaction
  • Draw supernatural strength from the Holy Spirit within you

Strength and courage begin not with what you feel—but with what God has already said. As the Lord encouraged Joshua, so He encourages you today.

Scripture References:

  • Joshua 1:6 – Be strong and courageous
  • Joshua 1:9 – Do not be afraid, for the Lord your God is with you
  • 2 Timothy 1:7 – God has not given us a spirit of fear
  • John 7:38 – Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water
  • Romans 8:31 – If God is for us, who can be against us?

Life Application for Today

You might be facing a relational storm, financial uncertainty, a health challenge, or ministry fatigue. Whatever your “Jordan River” looks like today, this devotional prayer is a reminder that your next step doesn’t rely on your strength—it relies on God’s power within you.

As you pray:

  • Speak boldly with faith
  • Call on the Holy Spirit for strength
  • Declare courage over your fears
  • Remember, you are not alone

Let's pray, father, in the name of Jesus. This is a great day because this is the day that the Lord has made and I shall rejoice and be glad. And the prayer that we are looking at today is coming from the old testament and we have picked it up in the book of Joshua, chapter 1, verse 6 be strong and courageous. Father, in the name of Jesus, will you help us be strong and courageous, just as the instruction was given to Joshua and Moses, father, you told them, both at significant times in their lives, to be strong. Lord, you told Joshua, you told Moses, you told many others that we got to be strong, we got to be faithful in the word. But, father, we thank you for the beautiful book of Joshua, chapter one, where you tell him to be strong and courageous. Father, I ask you today, will you help myself and the brothers and sisters across the world listening to this prayer and joining in as we start the day? Father, help us to be strong and courageous. Lord, will you help us to bridge the gap, lord, whatever life is bringing to our door. Today, father, we pray for strength, we pray for redemption, we pray that we will realize that you are sovereign and you are king and you are all power, lord, and we bless the most beautiful name in heaven and earth. And today, lord, will you help us to be strong? Will you help power, lord, and we bless the most beautiful name in heaven and earth. And today, lord, will you help us to be strong? Will you help us, lord, to be full of courage? Will you help us, lord, to stand on the rock of all ages?

Speaker 1:

Father, we pray today for breakthrough in school. We pray for breakthrough in life. We pray for breakthrough at work, in relationships, in ministry and in church. But help us to be strong, lord, as we look across the landscape of life, father, will you help us, lord, not to look by eyes of fear, but, lord, to look with a heart that is full of faith. So today, lord, as we stand, dear God, at the beginning of a new day, maybe, lord, we're in the middle or the end of the day, beginning of a new day. Maybe, lord, we're in the middle or the end of the day, wherever and whatever the clock says, in our time.

Speaker 1:

Today, lord, father, will you help us to be strong and courageous? Will you help us to step out in faith? Will you help us to lean into the word of God? Will you help us, lord, not to see what we see with our natural eyes, but, lord, will you give us the faith to see beyond the natural ability of the retina of our eye, of our vision of this world. But, lord, help us to see far beyond, lord, you tell us in the book of Hebrews, 11, verse 1,. Now, faith is.

Speaker 1:

So today, lord, I ask you for myself and brothers and sisters around the world, lord, as we're in prayer together, as we pray together, as we stand together through this Christian prayer podcast, today, we stand on the rock of all ages. We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the gospel of truth, we believe in the testament of God. Father, we believe, from genesis to revelation, that your word is without, ever. So, lord, help us to live by faith, to be strong and courageous, no matter what comes our way. Father, will you lift us, will you carry us, will you melt us, will you mold us? So for father, today we thank you that there is power in the most beautiful name in heaven and earth, and at the name of jesus, every knee shall bow on the earth. Under the earth, through the earth, every tongue confess that jesus christ is lord and today is the day of victory. So, dear god and heavenly father, wherever we are across this world, father, give us the power and the authority that we know that we have, but, lord, help us to speak that power and authority. Out of our belly shall flow rivers of living water. Lord, let it rain today. But, brother and sister, wherever you are, remember, be strong and courageous. Be strong and courageous. Do not let the book of the law depart from your mouth. Wherever you are today, pray the prayer of faith, be strong and courageous.
