thank you for joining us today on our daily christian prayer podcast with myself. Reverend ben cooper recorded live here in london, england, for your five minute time of prayer. Renewal, strength and encouragement, peace and biblical truth for everyday life situation. How are you feeling today? You know, may the spirit of the living god carry you, may the anointing of God lift you. May the word of God just bring peace to your life today. Do you need rest, do you need renewal for your life?
Speaker 0:We're going to jump straight in to the book of Psalms, 116, verse 7, and it says return to your rest my soul, for the Lord has been good to thee spirit, spirit of the living God. We pray for the listeners, wherever they are at this moment in time, that the presence and the love of God will keep them strong, that the fire and the anointing will be over their lives. Father, I pray for the listeners. I thank you for their prayers. I thank you, lord, that they're praying for us and we lock shields of hope today. But, lord, we're praying for rest. We're praying, dear God, for rest. We need this word called rest, father. We need to rest because life is so busy and crazy. Lord, we need renewal right now. Our souls. Lord, we need renewing, we need strength. Lord, we pray for peace in stress, calmness in uncertain hours. Lord, we pray for safety in god's presence, the prayer of strength, lord to restore us in jesus christ, and as we seek the father's heart, as we seek the father's voice, as we seek the scripture, tonight, this hour, this morning, wherever we are, lord, I pray through the psalm today, that you will remind my soul to return to the rest of goods, god's goodness, that I will rest in god's goodness and lord. I thank you for peace, renewal of spirit, assurance of god's faith and his love over our lives. Lord, we need, through this daily devotional time, the assurance that god is going to restore the weary soul today Because, lord, we're tired. Lord, we're tired.
Speaker 0:According to the Psalmist, psalm 116, 7, the prayer for rest. We need renewal for our soul. Peace in stress, calmness in everyday life situation wherever we are, calmness, god, calmness of the mind, calmness of the spirit, calmness of the heart, lord, we need rest in God's presence, safety in his care, strength restored to Christ in the name of Jesus. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Lord, we need joy in God's goodness today. Let us realize that the goodness of God is over our lives, that there is comfort in weakness, there is power in glory, assurance of God's love.
Speaker 0:Today, lord, let us rise on wings as of eagles. Help us to make this a life application. Lord, we declare the fire of God, the anointing of God, the power of God, the anointing of God, the power of God. Lord, we speak the psalmist over our lives, the prayer of David. Lord, the psalm of David.
Speaker 0:We speak Psalm 116, verse 7. My soul returns to rest. Help me to make this a life application. Help me to come to you tonight, to morning, lord, wherever it is, this morning, this night, this afternoon, whatever the hour is. Spirit of the Living God, we need your fire, we need your presence over our lives. Lord, let my soul return to you. Lord, let my presence come to you. Lord, I got to walk to the cross, I got to get in the word of God. I know that we are saved.
Speaker 0:Lord, I pray for the listeners today that they will see this power of salvation, that they will see the hope and the favor of God, that they will know that their Redeemer lives and because he lives, they can face tomorrow, that they will feel the love of God, the power of God, the presence of God, that they will feel this anointing that we read about, lord, that we will feel the book of Acts, chapter 2, when the Spirit of the Lord fell from heaven and it seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and sat and rested on each of them. Rest on us, holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, rest on us as you did in the early church. Holy Spirit, rest within us, rest on top of us, lord. Our hearts are hungry. Lord, we are thirsty. Lord, this nation is dry, the church is dry, ministry is dry, the world is dry. Lord, we can't keep drawing from Jacob's well. We got to draw Lord from the guard of gods. We've got to draw from the word of God. We've got to walk in the spirit of the living God. Lord, there is favor over our lives. There is anointing on our body.
Speaker 0:Lord, give us the courage to be strong. Give us courage, like David, to run and to face the bear and the lion. Give us courage, like Joshua, to stand in the face of adversity. Give us courage, like David, on the battlefield. Give us courage like Esther. Give us courage like the disciples. Give us courage like the writers of the word of God. Give us courage, like Moses, to stand before Pharaoh. Give us courage right now, in the name of Jesus. Give us courage like Meshach, shamrach and Abednego. Give us courage that the fire isn't going to take us out.
Speaker 0:Give us courage today, because my soul rests in the eternal arms of the Father. So, lord, we thank you for the psalmist. We thank you, lord, for the prayers of the psalmist, david. We thank you for the prayers of David. But, lord, we pray that our soul will find rest and courage. Rest and courage, power and anointing. Lord, we love you and we bless you. Lord, may the spirit of the Lord be over you, listeners, wherever you are. May the fire, may the glory, may the power, may the anointing of God rest over you. Let's seek the Father's heart. Let's seek the whisper of heaven. Let's ask God to supercharge our hearts, because I need living water. I'm tired and I'm weary, trying to feed myself from the world. I need the word of God. Wherever you are. May the glory of God be over you. My name's Reverend Ben Cooper. Thank you for joining us today. May the Lord bless you and keep you until tomorrow.
