Psalm 23:4 — Jesus, Bring Gentle Comfort as the Evening Deepens Live from London, England • United States • Portugal • South Africa • India Psalm 23:4 (NIV): “Even though I walk through a quiet and unsure place, I will fear no harm, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 91:4 (NIV): “He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and protection.” Jesus, as the evening settles across my mind and home, I turn to You for steady comfort and gentle reassurance. The later hours of the day can sometimes bring reflections, unfinished thoughts, or quiet concerns that rise without warning. Thank You that Your presence meets me with calm rather than pressure, and with peace that gently steadies every part of my heart. You remain close, offering comfort that is warm, thoughtful, and reassuring. Your guidance helps me breathe more easily and find a rhythm that brings my spirit into rest. Lord, Your Word reminds me that I can lean into Your care without hesitation. Your comfort is not rushed; it is soft, kind, and strong enough to help my thoughts settle into peace. As I reflect on my day, let Your nearness help me release any heaviness I may still carry. Let Your faithfulness remain over me like a peaceful covering, bringing balance and clarity. Thank You for the encouragement that flows from Your love, encouraging me toward a calm heart and a rested spirit. Jesus, let this evening be filled with quiet strength. Surround my thoughts with peace and my emotions with gentle stability. Let Your guidance shape the way I think, respond, and rest. Thank You for being my comfort, my support, and my steady hope. As I prepare for the night, let Your presence give me confidence that tomorrow is held securely in Your care. Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself Reverend Van Cooper recorded live here in London, England, where the world gathers for five minutes of faith, hope, love, and strength wherever you are across this world. Thank you to everybody on RB Christian Radio that's listening to No News, No Weather, No Traffic Report, Pure Worship, and everybody that is in the archives of uh the podcast that we've been doing, you know, all the prayers, you go right the way back to the very, very beginning. It is a long way back. There's probably around about 2,005, 2,600 podcasts now with over 1,300 quick-fired commuter prayers. Please indulge in those prayers, download them, send them out to your prayer groups, your friends, your brothers, your sisters, wherever you are. Come on, we're gonna lock in and we're in Psalm 23 verse 4. We're in the prayers of David through this nine session that we're doing today, and we're raiding out, we're reading out of Psalm 23, verse 4. Jesus, bring gentle comfort and evening deepness. Father, we need some deepness tonight. Lord, we've got to go deeper into your presence because Lord, we don't want to sit around the fringe of the Garden of Gethsemane. Lord, we don't want to be like those disciples that sat around the fringe and fell asleep. Lord, we want to, dear God, go deeper into your presence. Lord, we want to go deeper into the word of God. We want to feel the love of God, the power of the Holy Spirit. Lord, we want to have a deeper walk with you. So tonight, Lord, bring gentle comfort as we go deeper into your presence. Holy Spirit, as we pray out of Psalm 23, verse 4, even though I walk through, even though I walk through, I thank you, dear God, that you are there. Even though we walk through the valley of uncertainty, even though we go into areas of unstability, even though we go into areas that are very unstable, even though we go into areas, dear God, where angels fear to tread. Holy Spirit, I pray right here from London all the way to the Americas, all the way to Portugal, South Africa, and India. Let there be an outpouring of your spirit. Jesus, settle hearts and minds today. Holy Spirit, wherever we are, if we're kicking the duvet off, Lord, whether we're getting in bed, sitting on the edge of the bed, Lord, whether we're getting dressed, we're on a school run, we're on the life run, whatever we may be doing from the battles of life, Father, bring peace and bring hope to our lives. Father, I pray that you will order our steps and we believe that no harm will befall our tent. And right now, you are our refuge, you are our shield. You protect us, you carry us, you guide us. And Lord, I pray today, whatever the hours have been in my life, whoever I've been in contact with, whatever the situations have been today, Jesus, I pray that you will bring calm, that you will bring rest and you will bring hope. Father, from the battles of life to the circles of life. Lord, every area where we're woven together, with family, with friends, with work colleagues, with brothers and sisters in church, out of church, whatever our life reflects, Jesus, bring a gentle comfort to our evening right now. Bring a gentle rhythm to our life right now. Lord, we want to feel the presence of God. And Lord, as hearts are settling, as minds are settling wherever we are, dear God, on this beautiful world, Lord, we pray that the love of God, the fire of God, the mercy of God, Holy Spirit, Lord, you are the Lion of Judah. Lord, we want to walk in your presence. Lord, we believe in healing. We believe in miracles. We believe that you are a healer. We believe that our God is healing us. We believe that you are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. But right now, Lord, let there be healing, let there be miracles, let the divine, dear God, dear God, we pray that the divine, the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, will take us to a place of rest. And as we come to you, Lord, help us to open up the word of God. Lord, as we've had a busy day, a busy life, a busy week, whatever the time zone is, from the battles that we are going from, from the battles that we are coming from and going to, Lord, on the field of life, Lord, every situation, Lord, the inner storms that no one sees. We pray that you'll give us peace on these inner storms that no one sees. Lord, in the outward environment, we pray for this outward environment that, Lord, that you will steady our steps and at this hour, Lord Jesus, bring comfort as the evening continues. But Lord, take us deeper into your presence. May the love of God, the power of the Holy Spirit be with you at this hour. Never give up. Jesus Christ is with you wherever you are across the world, whatever your life looks like, don't ever, ever give up. God bless you. I will see you in two.
