Evening Prayer — To Lay Down What Feels Heavy and Receive Rest

Matthew 6:11 — “Give Us Today Our Daily Bread”

Live from London, England — where faith meets the world in daily prayer and global hope  Caracas • Cape Town • Madrid • Manila BURDEN • REST • RELEASE  evening prayer when I feel overwhelmed and tired • Give us today our daily bread meaning prayer • prayer to release stress and find rest • Christian prayer for comfort and peace tonight • prayer to lay burdens down before God Matthew 6:11 (NIV)  “Give us today our daily bread.” Matthew 11:28–30 (NIV) “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest…” This is your evening prayer to gently lay down what has felt heavy throughout the day. If you are feeling tired in your mind, or carrying more than you expected, this moment is for you. This is a prayer to release the weight and receive rest. We are praying from the words of Jesus in the Lord’s Prayer — “Give us today our daily bread.” Father, as the day begins to close, we come to You just as we are. Not needing to explain everything. Not needing to hold everything together. But simply arriving in Your presence. You see what we have carried. You know where the strain has been. You understand what has felt heavy, even if we have not said it out loud. And Your invitation is gentle. “Come to Me…” So we come. Not with effort. Not with pressure. But with a quiet willingness to let go. We bring the weight of this day into Your hands. The moments that drained us.  The thoughts that lingered too long. The responsibilities that felt too much. We place them with You. So I release what has been weighing on me. I release the pressure to keep going without rest. I release the quiet exhaustion within me. I release it. And now, I receive. I receive rest for my mind. I receive ease in my body.  I receive comfort in Your presence. I receive. And now I allow myself to rest. Not striving. Not pushing. But resting in the care of God. Today does not need to be carried any further. It can be placed down. God is with you now. You are not alone this evening. Across the world, wherever we are listening, You are bringing rest. From Caracas to Cape Town, from Madrid to Manila, Your Spirit is easing burdens and restoring strength. Father, we rest in You. We release this day.We receive Your peace. In Jesus’ name. Welcome And Evening Invitation

SPEAKER_00

Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself, Reverend Ben Cooper. Wherever you are across the world, thank you for making daily prayer part of your life and part of the rhythm of your day. It is the early evening prayer, and I invite you to stay with me. I know you're tired and you're weary, and there's still so much to do.

Laying Down Heavy Loads

SPEAKER_00

We're praying out of the book of Matthew, chapter 6, verse 11. This is the title to lay down what feels heavy and receive rest. Holy Spirit, I feel I have been carrying so much weight and so much pressure from my history. Will you help us to lay it down right now? Lord, whatever we are carrying that feels heavy and feels scary and feels uncertain. Today, Lord, we want the burden to go, we want rest and we want reassurance. Lord, as we try to unwind through this early evening devotional prayer time, we come to you right now. Jesus, we feel overwhelmed, we feel quite tired, we got fatigue over the skin, over the bones. But

Faith Over Feelings

SPEAKER_00

Lord, help us to get in the Word of God and realize that we don't live our lives by emotions and feelings. Firstly, we live our lives by faith. You tell us to seek ye first the kingdom of God and thy righteousness and everything else will be added unto thee. So Lord, we stand on the gospel of hope. Lord, on this early evening devotional prayer time, we are praying through the beautiful book of Matthew 11, 28. Come to me, all of you that are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Father, we thank you that we can go to you and find rest. Lord, we understand, Father, that we cannot find it in the way of the world. You tell us do not conform to the pattern of the

world. So, Lord, right now we believe that you are giving us our daily bread. For those that are worrying about financial implications, those that are worrying about mortgages and rents, those that are worried about the children and relationships, those that are worried about their job and they're just the circle of their life. Holy Spirit, we pray, give us today our daily bread and lift the burden that feels so heavy and so overwhelming right now. Jesus, we are praying through this early evening devotional time, Lord, that you will take away this feeling when I feel overwhelmed and tired. Give us today our daily bread. And Father, help us to realize that Jehovah Jirah, Jehovah Nissi, Jehovah Shalom is over our lives. And we want to hear the Lion of Judah. We want to walk in the power of freedom. Lord, we need stress to go. We need rest to come in. Lord, where you're quiet in our hearts right now. Father, we pray for sickness and disease, worries and fears to go. We pray for mental health to go. We pray for freedom to come in. Lord, today, at this hour, at this early evening devotional prayer time, I'm trying to lay down what feels heavy and trying to receive rest. But Lord, the life that I live is noisy, the house is busy, work is really fierce right now. So Lord, wherever we are, from the battlefield to the boardroom, to the field of life, we pray, dear God, for the love and the glory and the power of the Holy

Spirit. And Lord, as we stretch out live from London, England, we pray for Cape Town. We pray, dear God, for Madrid. We pray for Australia. Lord, we pray for Japan. We pray for Oslo. We're praying for Singapore. Lord, Bogota. We are praying, dear God, for the love of God over every nation, every color, every tribe, every language, every tongue. We are praying, Jesus, give us today our daily bread. Father, will you show us the way forward? Because we feel overwhelmed, dear God, in this early evening devotional time. Settle the heart, settle the mind, settle our spirit and help us to lay down what feels really heavy right now. Lord, we're carrying suitcases, dear God, of fear. We're carrying suitcases of doubt. We're carrying suitcases of history. Lord, we don't want this unnecessary luggage in our lives anymore. We need to leave it at the cross. So, Father, help me, help us to lay down what feels really heavy right now. And through this early evening devotional time, help us, dear God, to get out of the office, to close the laptop lid on work today. Help us to get on the bus, on the train. Father,

Leave The Luggage At The Cross

I pray for those that are cooking, that are washing, that are looking after the family, wherever we are around the world. Holy Spirit, when we feel overwhelmed and tired, Father, bring peace to each and every one of us. But Lord, remind us of that beautiful book of Matthew 11, 28. Come to me, all of you that are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Jesus will give you rest. Don't
