How are you feeling? I hope you're well. It's been a long day at work, at home, looking after the children. Whatever you have been doing, let's hold it together. Just for these four minutes or so, we're going to jump straight through to the prayers of David.
Psalm 91 Shelter And Rest
SPEAKER_00We're in Psalm 91, verse 1. This is the title of the late night devotional prayer time together. Rest securely under the shadow of the Almighty. Holy Spirit, help us to rest. Lord, life has been very frantic, been very chaotic. Lord, we are listening to the political words. We're listening to the rhythm of the season of whatever nation we're in right now. Lord, we're listening to the shipping lanes of life. Father, we're listening, dear God, to the war cry. Holy Spirit, I pray that we will not react to the atmosphere of the world. And Lord, that we will not move in the way of the world, that we won't conform to the pattern of the world. But right now, we will find security under the shadow of the Almighty. I pray, dear God, that we will live in the presence of Jesus. Lord, I pray that we will live in the presence of the King through the living word of God. And Lord, I thank you that the kingdom of God is within each and every one of us. Let Go Of Fear And Doubt
SPEAKER_00Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge, my fortress, my God in whom I trust. Lord, help me to make you my refuge. Help me, dear God, to surrender. Help me, dear God, to be like that athlete on the track to let go of that baton. Lord, I need to let go. Lord, if I keep holding on to that baton, Lord, I won't get to the end of the race of life. Because Lord, I need to let go and let God. And wherever we are right now, Lord, we are on a fierce run. Lord, the run of life, the track of life. Holy Spirit, Lord, as we run around the track of life, Lord, we are at full stretch. We are tired. And there are certain areas of our lives that we got to be like that athlete in the relay race. Lord, we got to let go of the baton of fear, the baton of doubt, the baton of weariness, the baton of life. Holy Spirit, that baton represents so much. And I pray that wherever we are, Lord, that we will learn to rest in Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Savior. Lord, I pray that we will speak this beautiful prayer over our lives. Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge, my fortress, my God in whom I trust. Help me to trust you more and more. Help me, dear God, to walk in your presence more and more. And Lord, as we stretch out, Lord, at this late hour, Lord, we are tired, we are weary. Lord, I ask you that the conversations that we had will become quieter and quieter, and the pace of life will slow down. Lord, calm our hearts right now. Lord, I pray that your loving arms will be wrapped around each and every one of us. Lord, that we will feel your presence. And Lord, I ask you that you will prepare us, that we will sleep all the way through tonight. And as we stretch out, Lord, I thank you that the love of God is over our lives and whatever we are going through. Lord, whatever season we are in right now, I pray for the spring, the summer, the autumn. Lord, whatever rhythm we are going through, whatever the attitude is, whatever the emotion is, Lord, I ask you for peace. And Lord, as we gather, Lord God, to rest from the battlefield to the boardroom, to the dance of life, to the walls of life. Lord, as we climb the rock face of life, whatever we are going through, I pray that you will bless everyone under the sound of my voice, that their sleep will be sweet. Remind us that angels have been deployed because the God of Israel cares for each and every one of us. Lord, from the four corners of this world, will you breathe over us tonight? Because Lord, we need to sleep. We're tired, we are weary. Help us to close the lid of the laptop. Help us, Lord, to turn the key on the office. Help us, Lord, to gather our thoughts in the greatest name in heaven and earth. And I pray that your heart will be healed as you continue the journey with the God above all gods.
