March 10, 2021 MuttStuff Media Season 1 Episode 28
BewilderBeasts!
BONUS: Balto, Togo and the Great Race For Mercy
Show Notes

The story of the 150 dogs and 20 men who raced against odds, weather, frostbite, fake news, and the worst storm in decades to save the kids and Indigenous people of Nome, Alaska, from a deadly diphtheria outbreak 5 years after the flu of 1919.

This is the first bonus episode of Bewilderbeasts- and it was originally told in Episode 10: The Dogs Who Saved a Town at the End of the World to commemorate the running of the Iditarod sled dog race that is happening right now, and the anniversary of when Melissa's town went into lockdown due to COVID restrictions.  The resources for this throwback can be found
