25. Party like it's 1999 | John Hay
Show Notes

It's the 25th episode of the "funnest and most goosebumpy" podcast! And because of that we've made it a bumper instalment in our longest episode yet. The big discussion is the TOP TEN 90'S FILMS. From Forrest Gump to Mission Impossible every film released between 1990 and 1999 was up for consideration. We are joined again by Gareth Bradwick who's back due to popular demand to discuss the decade. Gareth is a crier, Ellis has a heart of stone and Gwilym makes some rogue decisions, it's all happening. Plus there is a lot of love for Steve Buscemi.

Excitingly, we had the privilege to talk with John Hay, the director of new Sky Original film 'To Olivia', available now on Sky Movies and NowTV. We spoke with John about editing a film in the midst of a pandemic, who could play the next James Bond, and which is the greatest Roald Dahl book. He was a pleasure to talk with and we couldn't recommend 'To Olivia' enough...so make sure to give it a watch.
JOHN HAY INTERVIEW TIME STAMP - 23:32 - 50:08

Plus the usual nonsense: Ellis mispronounces Zack Snyder's 'Justice League', Gwilym is apprehensive about some 'The Last of Us' casting and Gareth recommends one of his all time favourite TV shows. Our 'Wandavision' section is shorter than usual but we still had to include it. If you want to avoid spoilers then skip this time stamp: 16:20 - 21:40

So if you lived through the 90's, get ready to reminisce; if you didn't then don't worry, at least two of the hosts didn't either. It's just a celebration of an incredible decade of film. To miss out on this one would be a "Big mistake! Huge!"
