Oh, welcome back to the Potter discussion. Finally, within the Quizmaster episode, it has been too long since I, one of these I've gone out and I'm very excited today because we have a very fun quiz on the magical creatures of Harry Potter. One of my favorite topics, especially because there is so much to explore in this region.

So many different creatures that there are in so many different ways that they are using. Scene in that the Harry Potter, infant Hastick and beasts movies. So I am very excited today before we get started, I will remind you that the toolings in the agendas below are still available. Maybe we can get up with, uh, get up a few places. So that's random and pretty cool. Okay. I've done enough. Stalling. It is now time of, for the episode.

similar to our previous school semester episode, we are going to be starting off with a power round. There is going to be three rapid fire questions that I'm asking. Say, you're going to try to answer in your head. And then at the end we will go over the questions. It's only going to last like a couple seconds, but we both go over the answer at the young.

So don't shout it out. Just keep it in your brain and remember them because they are going to be coming fast and you should definitely be prepared. So I'm going to say creature, and then you're in try to guess where those creatures live. Now. They don't have to say like, oh yeah, of course they live in Southeast Asia.

Now you can just say like what kind of climate they enjoy, where they thrive, anything like that. But if you can't. You get bonus points for that. So we are starting off in the 3, 2, 1. Where do Thunderbirds live? Where do a bow truffles live? Where do red caps live? Don't change your answers. Think of when your brain or what did you think of when you're starting out with Thunderbirds?

So I started with this one because I knew. Some people would recognize the name Thunderbird and connected to a creature we saw in the fantastic beasts. So Thunderbirds, like open Plains or it's. I said hot where the sun shines and she said, Arizona bonus points to you because Newt's commander brought Frank the Thunderbird to America in hopes of bringing him to Arizona and letting him free even more bonus points.

If you know that Frank was in Egypt before Newt found him, and that's where he came from, but he enjoyed the hot desert Plains. So that is the Thunderbird. Now we have boat truffles and we did see this in the Vanessa these moves. And we also saw this in the Harry Potter books, bow truffles, enjoy freeze, but not just any trees, wand, wood, quality trees.

And I don't know why. Maybe they're just extremely Vicky, but that is where Bojangles live in Wanda wood quality trees. And they will come out. If they know someone who's approaching like. And that island and the lake, there was a tree that was apparently one would call it, it because of struggles were in it, nudes and Leda were going up to there.

And Newt said, they recognize me and they know I'm coming. So they come out, they know I'm friendly. Of course, that's great. And that just proves a point that they know that what was going on and they know that Newt is with them. So that is pretty cool. And that is both truffles, but now you have red caps.

They're red caps, I think are going to be a little more challenging for a couple. Only because we only hear about them in the prisoner of Azkaban and they only appeared. It's not like a big feature. They only appear a couple of times. And red calf are very often confused, a lot of different things, but here is the answer for the red caps.

Red caps reside in places where blood has been changed. Anywhere where blood has been shed, that could be, you know, Dungeons of tassels battlefields. If you gotta kind of cut while you are taking a jog, I dunno, red caps are there. And I mean, that's, that's basically, it I'm forced blood has been shed over a lot of places, so they are everywhere, but that is it.

There's, there's no one specific place that they go. It's just where there has been bloodshed. I've said that way too much, but that is the power round. I hope you're a nice warm. Yeah, because now we're getting to the serious questions. We're going to be sending us, spending a lot more time on these. And, uh, it is going to be very fun.

So let's, let's get into these big questions.

Okay. So we're going to start off with a name that might sound a little familiar and might be a little difficult to blazers ringer on all where you've heard this name from, but I think you will get it. Who is facing. I know it is really difficult, but I'm hoping you can get this one. Rank is the Thunderbird we were just talking about.

Of course the most, the easiest one so far, but I put discussion because Frank is awesome. Frank is so cool. He's great. He talks he's he, he, he screeches, he flies. He has like 500. Um, so Frank is great and I especially want to touch on the scene where he takes the souping evil venom and puts it into clouds with that that has strong oblivious.

Um, that's how Newt saves the city. Um, so I just want to talk about this and he goes, Frank was so good in that scene. He, number one, new has a bottle. That's like a vile it's so delicate. He throws it in the air and Frank catches it and doesn't break. And in Frank's a beak no less. How so new it wasn't tending to let new, uh, Franco and Arizona, as we were just talking about, but he said New York would just fine.

Uh, of course it does not, but frankly, just fly to Arizona or wherever he needs to, he could fly. I'm sure there's some great places in, I don't know, like Vermont or Massachusetts, I think those are right around New York. So he could just go there, but I mean, everyone was a bit of a flight, but if you could really use there, I'm sure he'd go there.

Uh, I mean the bottom line of the scene, I mean, it's funny because Frank is awesome. Like that's like, I mean, like I would love to have. Carrie my packages and his beak. That's like the ultimate version of an owl, I mean sure ahead of IGS. Great. But like Frank, come on, Frank is pretty cool. That is 100% of why, but just to talk about how awesome.

Yeah, I mean, this is like this pretty much. I was, it was going very different in my head. Okay. I think it's time he gets to the actual.

Question number one in what book do blast ended scrutiny appear? What do you think? So the blush in its boots are those, those like, like crab slash shells slash creepy you slimy, crawl, creepy crawly thing that Hagrid. For the class for the manage the care of Metro creatures class. And I mean, they are infamous.

They, it is a, you know, the entire class is dreading going to care, match for futures just because of, of these, uh, of the blessedness Greece. Of course, I think it is. It is a little easier to guess. Um, uh, why or whether when these previous appear only because there are only three books where there was care factor.

It's still, I think it is difficult, especially because they, I mean, how you're gonna always have a new, crazy beast. Eddie wants to present to the class, a new idea that he wants to say. I knew whatever. And I think the box of the scripts are just the latest edition of that. So whatever you think locked it in a right now, answer is the fifth book.

The fifth book is where the blasts and then screws up here. A very, a very little. Time, the trio takes care of management, creatures, coincidence. I think not, not at all. In fact, I'm reading apple prints. If you didn't know that from my saying, get 14 bajillion times less episode. But in the very beginning, Ron was saying how he could not take another glass.

You get his mind just cannot handle it with another round of the blast. And it's. Um, so that's where that comes from. And also of course they don't take it in the sixth book, but I do, I think a couple people do, um, and they're just completely respected, but also Hagrid really hurt. He thinks that the trees are really liking his class, but it's just, they like him.

I mean, it's a heartbreaking Hagrid, especially because he is like, it's his class and it's his first class and he can do what he did. And then he finds out, he likes it, not even as best friends, enjoyed his own class. So I think that is definitely the biggest heart wrench for Hagrid that the blast had.

Spirits just didn't do it for some reason, the six foot long stingers and the explosions and the burnt hands and the petrifying fear of walking toward taggers hut. For some reason, they just didn't want to do it again. I mean, those people, honestly, the nerve lab. If I had to do with the blast sentence groups, I would not do another year.

I would try to quit as soon as like good I'm sure care, magical creatures. We had a fantastic class, but I mean, agric come on. He has to sometime realize that not everyone can handle the kinds of things that he can. He is definitely of a different caliber of a different strengths then. I mean like 15 year old kids.

So I think. Definitely a different situation for Hagrid and he has a whole, whole different set of values in his head. Um, so that is the first question. Question number two. What are the abilities of the Aquaman? I'll give you a second to think about this one, because I think you think I know what you're going to think, and I think you are going to think what I.

All right. It's not many that made any sense. I think I know what the answer is going to be for what you are going to think. This is, I confuse myself too much. All right. I think I know what you were going to say. And I think that you think, you think what I'm going to think, and when I'm going to say, I want to stop there and I'm just going to talk while you think of the answer.

So the argument now, of course, I'm not going to tell you the ability to drink and what it does, because that's the. But I will say, I think it D it does sound like something that appears in the Harry Potter store. I'd be like, like, Akami, it sounds like, I don't know some kind of like mood or spell . I, I could say that.

Or like Aquaman C or like something like that. It definitely sounds like a Harry pottery kind of like magic, magical something. Um, so it's definitely fitting for this presenter services, but it is a magical creature. If you can not guess, um, as this, this is the magical creatures Christmas. Well, the alchemy is actually, it was one of my favorite parts of the movie it appeared in, um, because it was just like every, it stayed the exact same.

I, okay. Hint eight physically did not say this name, but I think it was the same kind of creature. So I think I've given you enough time to think if I'm sure I'm okay. All right. All right. All right. All right. I'm not going to say the think analogy. The alchemy, the abilities of the army are to grow and shrink depending on the size of the space it is presented with.

So if that didn't ring the bell, if you didn't get it, I will give some deeper explanations. So in the fantastic beasts series, the army is appears in the first fantastic based movie. So the  is that like little purple-ish blue, like snake lizard type thing that bites Jacob and I trust. And that also goes into the huge Macy's department store in New York and expands and the, and like the, the, the storage area and the Demi guys goes up.

The, like the, the, the thing with all of the white hair, who's invisible goes off kind of babysit and the ahkamie is gigantic. Um, it fills up the entire department store storage area, and then we just drag it. And then new Queenie, Jacob and Tina have to, they, they find a bug to, to give to the alchemy. They throw it and somehow the bug doesn't fly.

So the bug just, it just kind of like Nero brown and plops tops in the thing. I mean, like blocking me means. Um, and then, yeah, and then Yakima kinda, kinda like goes up and swirls down and shrinks to go into the TB. With the bugs. So that is where the autonomy comes from. And that is the answer to question.

Number two, I personally love the alchemy so cute. And especially when Newt gave, um, the, the alchemy eggs to Jacob, because those aren't worth so much their salts over anyway. Question number three. What feature does Dumbledore keep? All right. This one will probably be easy for a lot of you listening because it is something that is touched on a lot.

In the books, movies, and it is also a big point of the story. I don't think you need that long to talk to think about, about, I chose the question slower, two reasons for the Frank question and billing, because there is something that I want to talk about to do with phoenixes. There you go. I said, great Phoenix.

That's the answer. I'm sure everyone got it. Um, and now I want to talk about something that I think is so funny, so I'm sure you've heard it before. If you've seen the reunion. Richard Harris, the actor who played at Dumbledore in the first and second movies, when he first saw Fox, the Phoenix, he said, oh wow, they are train animals, marvelously these days.

That is just Richard Harris. I mean, that is hilarious. They train these animals marvelous these days. And of course the, the design team was working tirelessly on Fox, on the enemy. And it had like cameras and its eyes and they could like move and it had like a wings. It could flap. And like, I mean, it, it could have been a real bird.

I think it, it will always be unknown, whether it, Richard Harris was joking or not. When he said, wow, he was these trainees animals. Mara was Wesleys they traded it. And of course, Phoenix was just this. Of course they do. Why, why were they not. I don't know if he's joking or not. I really, I really can tell here.

I mean, Richard Harris has always the jokester, um, in, in the reunion they were saying that he was, you know, like a, five-year-old stuck potty of, uh, of an old man, which I think is the exact opposite for Dan, but Richard Harris. It was a really the life of, uh, of the set from what you saw in the reunion. But that I just think is hilarious.

That Richard Harris thought or at least, you know, make made a, made a pretty good joke about how the, the Phoenix was a real great. I mean, he is, he is. He really did some great stuff. I'm so sad that he passed, but I think his, his, his character, his personality will live on in Harry Potter one and two of course, because millions of people are seeing it every day.

So that is a lovely. I mean, hilarious again. That is so funny. They train these in animals Mroz days. And if, if that was a real Phoenix, I would agree because there are, I mean, hours and hours and hours and hours of filming, uh, with Fox just sitting there. But also I think then when you're moving up into the fifth movie, I'm thinking of that scene where umbrage and the minister and Percy.

And I can not think it was Kingsley Kingsley. When those four people go to Dumbledore his office to try to arrest him, to take him, to ask a ban, he's like much, what's the phrase I'm not going to, oh yes, come quietly. And then this is holding her Fox flies down, Dumbledore gloves, his hands in the air and him at Fox.

Dumbledore disappear in a flash or fire. And then I always loved the line where, where Kingsley goes, I don't, it was something like, I think you would hate to admit and administer, but Dumbledore is God's style. And that was so funny. And that was like, yeah. Yeah. Kings is cool. Um, so that was funny. And then another scene where I would have been like, whoa, they do train those animals.

So marvelously, these days, of course the fifth movie was made a while, a while after the, the, the first. But I mean, our real Phoenix as it doesn't get better than that. And even if Phoenix has existed, I to pay millions of dogs just to get went to film and even nilly, I went, would you really want to burn on stuff?

It would be so much more complicated. Just get, make it. And then I'm on track. Like they did. I think they definitely went the right route, but. They train these animals and marvelously these days, it will always be whenever I, I watched the reunion was of course, I'm going to rewatch it 14,000 times. I am going to laugh my head off as I did the first time.

And I said, the second as I will, the third, the fourth and fifth and six up until the fortune, a thousand, of course, that is my limit. And I've, I've also passed that for all the Harry Potter movies. But. All right. What'd you going to do so, yeah, that is, I just, I had to put that in there because that, that is just hilarious.

I loved that part of the reunion, especially all of the, all the reactions of the crew of Christopher Columbus, of Dan, of I'm a blueprint of everyone just laughing at Richard Harris and really remembering him. So really great line, a really great quote. Really good joke. And yeah, let's move on to question numero for.

So these next two questions, you just, a couple of questions are going to be pretty challenging. And these, the kinds of like a as holds true for all the quiz masters, you're either going to get it in a second or you're never going to, so let's just get into this question. Not number four. What creature lives in a small green pouch and enjoys eating brains for you ask?

No, not a zombie, but it is, uh, not really similar. I was gonna say it to nobody. It's not really at all. Um, but let's, I think, I think this one is definitely going to be difficult. I think it's going to be difficult to think, especially because they're a, it appears on the a couple of times. Um, so I will give you hint.

It is in the fantastic beasts series. And if you really think, I think you can easily get the first part, but not the second. The second one I think is going to be the hardest one, because it was, um, like the, the eating brains part, because it happened so fast. It was right in the middle of an action scene.

And, um, Newt says, leave. And there you go. So I think I've, I've given you a sufficient amount of hints and because you either got it or you didn't add a second or never, I think now is definitely a good time to reveal the answer. Well, the answer I actually already said in his episode, the answer is these whooping.

The swooping evil is that creature that nude God it's venom from it had that strong obliviated of, of properties. I always have it that way. I always say it's not like, I, I always say, oh, Bolivia and give it because it's so fun to say, I believe yet. Um, so the sweeping evils venom has the, has the oblivious.

And that's what Frank takes up to put in the rain clouds. And obliviated all over the people in New York have biggest of course the venom has a Bolivia. Robert is, um, and in the action scene that I was talking about where the brains, um, new 10 Tino were escaping from the ministry and they met Queenie and Jacob.

So, so the Newt like stunned and she kind of like, like fought and dueled the, um, uh, the people in those white coats were going to kill Tina and. And, uh, he was like in the middle of that, like scary death, Bernie pond, the stereotype Bernie bond. And of course he knew it was going to die if he stayed there.

So Newt let his sweeping evil go and it flew. In between them. Um, I don't know why it just stayed still because of course we sought stay still, but I, it just kept going. It was going around and around her. I don't know how to run. And Dina jumped off of the chair out of the Bernie death pond and, uh, the, the sweeping evil went with them and then it, it aided them in the.

And they, um, Newt and Tina came across a lot of ministry of wizards and they were going like, believe you, boom. I was like, how do I explain spells? But there you go, spells. So there are spells going a left and a right. Nina, you know, dude, and oh wow. I said Nina and toot. No Newt. And Tina were again, I'm gonna, I'm gonna get caught.

So let us, we'll be able to go with. And it was just flying back and forth. It was, you know, getting ministry wizards and then rights. Uh, when Newt and Tina were passing it, it was on top of a ministry worker who was stunned and Newt says, leave his brain, come on. And they keep going. So that is where that that's the entire piece of the positive lad is everything put together as one, the answer was.

Congratulations. You got it, right. It was definitely one of our faces, the name wasn't and the scene wasn't but I think if you got it right, you definitely play close attention and you worked through Harry Potter fan let's move on.

Now we have another very challenging question if I do say so I worked pretty hard on this one is another, get it, or don't type a situation. So this one and you're going to have to pay pretty close attention to throat. What kind of creature pulled the prison transport in the beginning of the crimes of Grindelwald there's the question.

Now your probably have the answer or you don't one or the other, whatever it is, let's discuss. Well, this one, I think if you think back to the Harry Potter books, you're going to have a better chance of Guinea because there is a key part of this that I wrote the question as, but I just had to, not to say, because I think it definitely would have given it away if I changed it.

If they choose the question, I want to tell you the answer. I would definitely change the question and ask you it again. And you will definitely recognize how easy it would be to get if I asked it the way I had originally planned. But, uh, with this question, I think it's important that you don't. Think of how it was done, however, the person transport was done.

It's important. Uh, you think that, that you think over the scene, just imagine the scene in your head. And I think that will get you a better chance because the, um, the Grendel vault of course, is in the prison transport, and he does interact with the creature, uh, with the kind of creature that is pulling the prison transport.

So, if you can think of answer, I think at good times, any to reveal the answer and the answer is a festival. If you didn't get it, it now seems as obvious as ever. But let me read you the question. As I originally wrote it, here it is what creature pulls the carriage in the opening scene of the crimes of Grindelwald.

That's how I originally wrote that question. And you can immediately tell that. Pulling the carriage is festivals, a 1 0 1 in Harry Potter. So if I said it, you know what, because you're supposed to character, it would have been a no brainer. Even if you heard of the crimes of Greeneville, it would have been simple just to say, oh, that's just, that's just bull carriage.

In Harry Potter, they pulled the characters in. I was granola. It's like adding a one-on-one it's too. I mean, it's simple as that. And I think, especially in this, in this situation, that, that this character is just another one of the examples and it really fits in with the Harry Potter characters because Harry Potter characters are like, usually like pretty, pretty dark.

And like, they are, they're getting there at night, so it's kind of dark and, you know, maybe like some, like a really old little drizzle, maybe the, you know, wheels splashed in the water, but. I think that's, that's really why this, um, the, the, the horses characters are. Um, so, so similar to the carriage that Grindle wall was pulled in.

I called it the prison transport just to, I need to think of different names. So that's, that's a new recommendation. That is what Grinnell was pulled in and that's, what's pulled him. And I said that he did interact with the festivals and he did when he, um, uh, like you said, I don't know if he cashed snakes at the driver or whatever, and, you know, shoved him off.

He then took the reins of the festivals and then he, uh, just, you know, drove, drove the carriage and then. Um, eventually got rid of the, of the German prime minister. Uh, that's what you call him. And the two guards that were in the carriage with what's his name? The posh guy. Um, you mate, that is just how I see it, especially because he joined Voldemort.

Come on, come on. Um, That is basically how that scene goes on. It's a pretty long winded. See it. And I think it really works the first time I watched it. And we honestly, the first couple of times I watched it, I was just like, what is happening? What does that mean? Especially when, when the, when the posture I had the, the wand and he, he was holding it and then I was like, what, wait, what the.

Huh, what a funny joke. Isn't it so funny when you go by and you're editing and the audio file that was there. Actually. Isn't so funny. Yeah. It's kind of what happened. So I've just finished. I was so close to finishing with the edit of this episode and I get here and there's nothing I've spoke to realize that the posh guy's name is actually Abernathy and a whole situation, but there's nothing else to go here.

Except for the challenge question that I kind of have to add, um, because the athlete is so, um, the, uh, the, the challenge question is what kind of creature did Queenie's grandfather breed? And as a bonus question, what kind of creature did Jacob's grandfather breed? Again? John's question is what kind of creature did Queenie's grandfather breed?

And I am sorry for the, uh, sudden cut. Uh, I blame my computer. Again, the ID file just sat at to go on vacay and it is not here anymore. So I am after this right straight into my computer microphone. Uh, but thank you.
