In this episode, we analyze the second trailer released by HBO for the Harry Potter TV show. This one is for a behind-the-scenes special called Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic. It is a behind the scenes look at the production of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the first season of the Harry Potter TV show. Enjoy!

Topics/Summary:

Listen to episode 326 analyzing the first official trailer here!

·      2:54 Dominic McLaughlin looks so much like Harry! But it’s not in the way that he looks like Daniel Radcliff, but that he looks like the Harry from the books.  There are still some differences, but that continues to support the idea that these characters will be similar, but not the same.

·      9:00 Wow! We’re getting behind the scenes footage! It’s crazy to think that we just got the release date to the TV show itself, and we’re already getting full releases of behind-the-scenes specials. We’ve almost graduated the point where the product itself is the goal, but an expansion of the fandom and the story.

·      14:56 Philosopher’s Stone? Christmas? We glossed over some of the most important pieces of information we learned from the trailer. For one, the project is called Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, not the Sorcerer’s Stone. And it will be released this year! Christmas has the right feeling of magic and family to make for the perfect release date.

·      21:13 Still no Voldemort? HBO has confirmed that he has been cast and will appear in at least a few seasons, so it’s odd that we haven’t heard a peep. They’re really keeping this under wraps! I don’t really care about the name of the actor playing him, just the interpretation of the character. In this way the casting does actually matter, so any information would be great!

·      27:29 Snape and Dumbledore and still stealing the show! Even in the special trailer, these two had big features and interviews. I want them to have a heavy feature, but it would be a shame if they took over the screen.

Intro

SPEAKER_00

Welcome to the potter discussion. To the potter discussion discussing the Harry Potter books, films, TV show, and the wizard wolf fandom. I'm your host Oscar and this is episode 327. Thank you everybody for joining me today. It is, of course, my greatest honor to be recording with you all today. So I'm still reeling after last week, of course, we had the release of the first official trailer for the Harry Potter TV show. And we had, I mean, a jumbo episode. Looking back, it definitely feels like that. Analyzing every last bit of that trailer, of course, if you have not heard that episode, I highly, highly recommend that you check it out. That link will be the very, very first link in the show notes. Definitely go check that episode out. And please watch the trailer again. It definitely means something different. You know, a little different every time you watch it. So I highly recommend you go back and take another look. But I was expecting to just do kind of a follow-up this week of last week's episode to kind of dive a little bit deeper to really take a look at some of the things that maybe we didn't have time to look to talk about. But there's just there's whole there's things are happening left and right. And there was a trailer posted yesterday about a new special, a special going up on HBO today. This episode comes out on April 5th, and it is this day, Sunday, April 5th, that Finding Harry, the craft behind the magic special, is going up on HBO Max. And they posted a trailer, uh, and it is a behind-the-scenes look. We see you have interviews, there's some behind-the-scenes footage. I don't know exactly what it's gonna be, but I'm really hoping that there's gonna be some interesting stuff. So that is what we're gonna be talking about today, kind of in tandem with some more uh wrap-up sort of things with the trailer. So it's gonna be a really, really fun episode. Uh, two very quick notes of housekeeping. One, I am a little under the weather, so I'm a little nasally, I'm sure you've heard it. Don't worry. Uh this episode will still be fantastic. And also, there is some work being done on the other side of the wall that I that I record on. So you might hear some clanks and some and some bumps. Not to worry. Uh, it's all it's all fine. Uh so that anyway, just wanted to mention that. Any questions, comments, topics, anything at all that comes into your mind while listening to this episode, definitely reach out to thepodger discussion at gmail.com. That is thepodger discussion at gmail.com. And of course, share this episode with someone if you uh feel the need. If you enjoy it, I think there is a chance that someone else will too that that that you know. So feel please feel free to share this episode, and this show really, really helps me out. Uh okay, that is everything that I want to mention before we begin. So without further ado, let's get into today's episode.

Dominic McLaughlin looks so much like Harry!

SPEAKER_00

There's one thing that is consistently jumping out at me uh while watching these two trailers, the the TV show trailer and this new special trailer. Uh, and there are, I mean, you know, th there are a lot of things that jump out at me, of course, but there's one in particular that I'm beginning to to notice, and that is uh Dominic McLaughlin looks like Harry. It seems silly to say, but it's true. And if it's strange, but I feel like almost more so in this special trailer, you know, the behind the scenes trailer, you know, the moments where he's not acting, I almost feel like he looks so much more like Harry than I thought. And this is a kind of interesting, you know, kind of facet of this new show because, like we've been talking about for so long, it can't be the same. It can't be the same, and it also can't be different. So there's kind of a uh there is an interesting choice that the filmmakers have to make, because if they make this series and they put it out there and fans say, wow, this looks nothing like the original, that is either a really good thing or a really bad thing. Of course, depending on the person, but also depending on the product. But seeing these characters, especially with Harry, I'm beginning to kind of come around to this idea that it is different, but that doesn't mean that it is not the same story. And I think this is one of the things that I've been grappling with, I mean, that we that we've been talking about forever. You know, how can they possibly change what we see on the screen? It is so difficult to kind of change our vision of what we have, you know, been watching for 20 years, uh, and now they are you know officially changing, changing this whole thing up. They are giving us new images of who would who and what these these characters are. I think this is also kind of going hand in hand with the uh full cast audiobooks that are that are also being being published, because that's another idea here that you know the old audiobooks are are old, you know, and we we want the the new ones. Of course, I don't think anyone could possibly beat Jim Dale, uh, but it is definitely interesting to see that we are getting kind of this this new generation of Harry Potter content. And it was I'm trying to think specifically, it was the shot. Let me actually let me let me look at this trailer because I want to find the exact shot. There was one moment in particular that jumped out at me as so looking so much like Harry. It was I'm scrubbing through the trailer right now. And it was so strange because it's like, it's not like and this is kind of maybe what's striking me. It's not that, you know, we are seeing a better version of the films, it's that we're truly seeing, you know, we are truly seeing the the books on the screen. And that is that is just so cool, you know, that we aren't, you know, it's it's it's not a remake, you know, it's just this this kind of new version. So that's what's really jumping out at me. And with you know, seeing all these uh, you know, people who who are we've been watching for so long, it is such an interesting experience to kind of see that and know that they are you know the same, but they're also different. And with with these images, you know, where we have whole new you know concepts of who these who these characters are, you know, what they mean for for the story, I think it's definitely an important uh you know thing to keep in mind that there are there are differences, but there are also similarities. So looking at like Dygon Alley and all these new kind of shops that are new but not like totally new, uh it is it is really important uh to keep that in mind. And I think I found it. Uh it is at it's like for a split second between one minute 13 seconds and one minute 14 seconds when he's getting uh you know uh dressed up or you know the costume department's working on him, it's that like second that like sh like struck me, and I was like, oh my gosh, that is Harry from the books. Like it's so clearly uh from the books, it's not from the films. I think that is an important distinction here because again, it can't be the same, but it can't be different. So where's the middle ground? And really, where uh you know what is the middle ground between, I guess, because we it can't be between the films and the books. The TV show can't be made, you know, balancing those two, uh, because then it will be just kind of, you know, the most like it it will be kind of a mix of both, which we want, but also would just mean it's kind of the same. So we're looking for something that is almost, you know, its own thing. Almost, but it is still so clearly uh the the books. So I think they are they are attacking this in a very interesting way. And I think there are a lot of risks, but there are a lot of rewards to the way that they are approaching this. So Harry is, I just wanted to mention that the Harry is just like it is looking a lot like him, you know. Uh and what's interesting is Harry, uh, you know, Dominic McLaughlin's Harry looks very different than than Dan Radcliffe's Harry. I think there's, you know, some stark differences there for sure. So I am very, very interested to see how once we really begin to see him on screen uh and we compare, especially, because I mean I'm sure, you know, not every scene is going to be the same, but we are definitely going to have scenes that are very similar. And I'm wondering here, you know, how are we going to uh you know deal with that? And I'm I'm very curious to see kind of these scenes side by side once we begin to get the actual content of the TV show on Christmas uh 2026. You know, I will I'm definitely curious to watch these scenes side by side to see what choices were made and things like that. And I'm I'm hoping that there are gonna be some, you know, uh, you know, odes to the film. I that would be, I think, a very appropriate thing to do, you know, if the filmmakers on the TV show said, let's, you know, if this was on the film, let's just, you know, pay homage to the you know uh previous version. I think that'd be that'd be totally appropriate. Um anyway, so that is the first point I wanted to make about Harry. He looks so similar to Harry the books. Of course, that is that goes for several of the characters in this story. Uh but there is more to discuss, so

Wow! We’re getting behind the scenes footage!

SPEAKER_00

let's move on. The next point I want to make is oh my gosh, we're getting behind-the-scenes footage. Uh that is, I mean, we can't gloss over that, that this is a really, really big deal. And not even just behind the scenes footage, but behind-the-scenes footage before the actual show. You know, this like we're getting we're getting a sneak peek behind this this whole big production before we even see what the actual production is. So this is such a unique situation, and I think it's because I mean this is just such a big deal. The um, you know, all these trailers and all these things that are that are being uh published, it is such a huge, you know, production. Like well, literally and figuratively, I mean, how many people are waiting for for this TV show? A billion? You know, like something crazy like that. Like I maybe I wouldn't be surprised. Uh, and it is definitely a a very important facet of this whole thing that you know this is a this is not like a a your average feature film coming out, you know, and there's there's you know some buzz for it, and they post a trailer, and I was like, oh my gosh, you know, this is this is gonna be good, and then it goes to theaters and everyone goes watches it, and then you know, that's that. No, this is this is this is something different. This definitely feels different. And it's almost like because we've like we've graduated that, you know, we're s we're so far past that. Like we had those days where first the books came out and then the films started coming out, and you know, everyone's so excited watching trailers for the films and going to see them, and and then the fandom just kind of kept growing, and now we're kind of we're we're at this like legendary status. Like, no fandom is could could ever compare to the Harry Potter Phantom. And we've reached this point where like there's just so many things happening and so many, you know, fans that we've kind of, you know, it's not like it's not a uh you know a hot release of this new hot series, you know, it's just like this cultural event, you know, and that is kind of the sense that we're getting here. And that's maybe why they're publishing, you know, things even before the the TV show comes out. Because they understand just how big of a deal this is. And I personally am a huge fan. I am so, so curious to see who they highlight, what they highlight, you know, really what they talk about. Uh first, I mean, how long is this thing gonna be, you know, where are they gonna kind of go? Because we didn't really get a whole um we didn't really see what it was kind of about, you know, it didn't really tell us what what this uh you know special is about. It is a behind-the-scenes look, and we saw some interviews from some of the uh the actors. That is kind of all we're we're we're working with here. So I'm definitely interested in kind of seeing how that develops. And once we watch it, I mean, of course, once we watch it, we're gonna we're gonna definitely have a really good idea of what the heck's going on here. So there's some interesting things going going on here. And one of the other things that I would love to see is like the special effects. Like, how are they doing these? How are they creating these environments? And we did see some of that. I mean, we saw some of the prosthetics they were using, we saw some of the modeling, uh, but there was a very interesting shot of the train, of how they were they were they were on the outside of the train, they were clearly on like the sound stage, and there was like the screen behind them that shows like the landscape it was moving, you know, it was it was it was moving pretty pretty quick. So that's kind of like the landscape going by. So I'm curious how they're going to recreate that. Because of course it's it's a very iconic thing, you know. They have to they have to make sure that it's that that it's right. And there were some, there were, you know, clearly some people mentioning, I think it was Janet McTear talking about how like she walked into the Great Hall for the first time, and it was this really profound moment. So I think we're gonna hopefully see more things like that. Like we're really gonna get the full picture of okay, what does it mean to be on this set? What are the actors thinking? What are the actors feeling, and really what is the impact here? So that is hopefully what I think we're gonna get from this special. Uh and I'm also interested, especially uh I've been to the uh Leavis and Studios where they are currently filming and where they have filmed, uh, where they filmed the uh films. And I am very, very curious to see just what the overlap there is. And I'm wondering uh if, you know, because uh seeing seeing the Great Hall, it was very, very, very similar to the Great Hall that we saw in the film. So I'm I'm wondering if maybe they're using the same Great Hall, or maybe they built another one, or I'm not sure. I mean, we've gotten some behind the scenes, you know, some some um it was a while ago we got some uh press leaks of some uh uh sets being built and it looked like the Great Hall was being built again, but uh the truth is I don't know. Especially considering the fact that the original is first of all still sandy, but is in such good shape. I think it would be a shame for them to just completely not not use it at all. So there are some there are some very interesting parts of that, but if anything, that speaks to the quality of the sets that were that were previously built. You know, thinking of that, you know, thinking of it's it's almost like filming on location, you know? Uh that's that's crazy to think that the the film sets are so iconic at this point. If they film there, it's like they're filming on location because of all like of the huge impact uh that these film sets have had. Then of course how meaningful the films are, uh, it really makes a difference that they are filming uh, you know, close to, if not on, these actual film sets. So there is an interesting discussion there, and I'm hoping we're gonna get some of that. I mean that seems like kind of a that seems like a really important part of this whole thing, you know, if if they are actually using the film sets or not. And I'm sure there is some overlap, uh, but I guess we will see. We will see today. Uh because of course this episode is out on the day that this special is out. So there is some there's some fun stuff. There is some really fun stuff to keep looking out for. I am looking forward to seeing what the overlap there is. And there is a lot more to discuss in this episode. So let's move

Philosopher’s Stone? Christmas?

SPEAKER_00

on. Now let's talk a little bit about the intersection between these two trailers. Uh, and in the sense that there are a few odds and ends in the last episode that we didn't talk about as much as I think we should have. Uh because there are just some pretty big, you know, announcements, some some pretty big parts of that that are important to continue to discuss. There are two that I want to quickly mention. One is that this new uh, you know, the the the trailer was not for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, but Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. So if you were making bets that it would be one of the other, congratulations, finally we have an answer. And honestly, this wasn't something that I was paying too close attention to, because there are more important things than what it's called. Of course, the title, I in my mind was decided, you know, it'd be Harry Potter. That's that's that's what I always imagined, but I guess I didn't consider the fact that there are different titles. So I think it is a right uh direction that they're moving in. It would be a shame if they called the whole project Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, because then they'd kind of be just be playing into uh no American audiences, and that's not you know what they should do. They should do it as you know faithfully to the books as they can. So if they have to choose one, I'm glad that they have chosen Philosopher's Stone. So that's very interesting. But it also means that they will be talking about the Philosopher's Stone, not the Sorcerer's Stone, in the film. So that is also going to be an interesting part of this to kind of wrap our heads around that. Um, but it's also interesting to note that in the trailer for the TV show that came out um last week, we had no mention of, first of all, we had no mention of the title, we had no mention of the plot, and we certainly had no mention of the stone. So we currently have no idea really what's going on with the stone or the plot or anything to do with any of that in between. But what we can now kind of, you know, see is that there is a truly faithful adaptation of the books forming. And it also kind of reminds me of this like idea that it's so much more for the fans than for the story. And that also is supported by the by this new trailer for for the special coming out uh with this special out today. Uh, and it is, you know, it's a very transparent process, and that's what we're kind of going through here. And it's it's interesting that it's so transparent because it is so much more, like I said, it's so much more for the fans than for the story. I'm not saying they're trying to write a bad story. No, that's very actually the opposite of what I'm saying. I'm saying this is as much a celebration of the films as a new iteration of the story, you know. This is a lot more of, you know, kind of celebrating where we are, the progress we've made, kind of, you know, looking back and seeing just how big the phantom has become. Uh, it's almost it's that, you know, it's celebrating what what we already have in the form of making something. Could you call it new? It is new. So we you could say in the form of making something new. So this is all in the pursuit of something, you know, kind of bigger than just a remake, and I am really excited to see kind of where that uh energy is going towards, especially as more trailers get released, you know, more previews get released, and as uh we begin to really see the bigger picture begin to take shape. So very, very cool stuff uh in that regard. The second thing that it is important to note is that this is coming out this year. And that like wasn't gonna happen. That's not allowed. Usually when they say it's it's gonna be uh, you know, I think they said late 2026, early 2027. Is it gonna come out 2026? Obviously not. That's just what they say, you know. It could be, I wouldn't be surprised if it came out February 2027. You know, that's what I was expecting sometime around there, which was, you know, which is a shame, but it does give us more time to build up, so pros and cons. But it's not, it's coming out Christmas of this year, Christmas of 2026. And if you ask me, that's sooner than I thought it would be, but it's also kind of at a good time. I was thinking of uh the first film, the you know, Chris Columbus Sorcerer slash Philosopher Stone. Uh, and I was thinking how much of a kind of a Christmasy feel it had. So I was kind of glad that this one's kind of getting released on Christmas too, because it's kind of following that vibe. And we saw on in in the uh first, you know, release trailer, there was a lot of snow, you know, there's a lot of Christmas. We saw a lot of you know, Harry and Ron around the fire, you know, Hagrid making making a snow angel, you know, things like that. There's there's definitely you know Christmas magic parts of it. And I think there's also it's interesting that they would choose to put it on Christmas. If if I were them and I chose to put it on Christmas, my thinking would be, well, it's you know, the magic of Christmas is kind of family and friends and spending time together, you know, getting together and celebrating. And Harry Potter is very much a family show, and it's also kind of this magic, you know, this this return to the wizarding world. So Christmas seems like a good time to do that. Uh, it's the kind of journey that you know we go on with our family and with our friends. So Christmas does seem like an accurate time to have that have that whole thing happen. So, good, good stuff. And of course, I mean, I'm just really glad it's happening this year, if you know, if just barely. Uh, because of course I'm on as soon as we can. I definitely want to have a really, really soon uh, you know, release here. But and actually, I was looking at the calendar, uh, we are gonna have to step on it for uh tea leaves for our uh you know complete right of the Harry Potter TV show. We only have I think it's something like 40 weeks uh to create essentially six seasons of episodes. So it's gonna be tight. It's gonna be tight. You might have to be some do some do some doubling up. But anyhow, uh this is going to be fun. This is this is gonna be very fun. So I'm super glad that it's coming out of Christmas, really keeping with this Christmas magic. Uh, but there are a few more things I want to discuss in this episode. So let's move

Still no Voldemort?

SPEAKER_00

on. Another thing that's you know slowly becoming more and more of a gaping hole uh, you know, with the special trailer and with the release TV show trailer, is there's no Voldemort. Still waiting, you know, we're still waiting. Of course, you know, he's cast. I think I think that's what WB said. Uh I'm pretty sure HBO released, you know, in one of their press releases, they did say that uh Voldemort was cast. But they're not telling us. They're not telling us a thing, and I must say, this it's effective what they're doing. It's very effective. This this awaiting on the edge of my seat, I am so curious who I am dying to know. But truth be told, it's not just the name of the actor. You know, I'm not like I'm not, you know, honestly, it's not the actor. To me, that matters. It's the interpretation, you know, it's how Voldemort is, how he acts, how he looks, how his backstory is presented. And I think they could spin any actor into any kind of Voldemort. But based on the person they cast, I think we could kind of guess either way, you know, we could get closer to the idea of who it is. Because, you know, certain actors are known for different things. And I think it would be interesting to see just, you know, what this Voldemort is going to be known for. Of course, Ray Fein's absolutely killed it in many ways. And he is such a good Voldemort, and it's such a hard thing to follow. But like we've seen, like we were just uh earlier discussing a few minutes ago about Harry, you know, how similar Harry looks to the Harry in the books, and how, you know, Voldemort doesn't look exactly like he did in the books. There are some clear differences, like eyes and things like that. You know, the red eyes is such a characteristic part of his of his you know uh of his face, of his look, and it wasn't in the film. So things like that, those little differences that are gonna come across, I think are really gonna make a big difference. So I'm very, very curious to see where this is going. And I like even in this special, is he there gonna be any mention? I don't know. I mean, even briefly, they could just do do a little tease, like, oh, all these prosthetics, you know, especially with Voldemort, it's really like just a little tie-a little tiny bit. Because of course he appears in this first film. This first season, I mean, gosh. I think it would be it would be an interesting choice to have no Voldemort in this first season. I think I definitely want some Voldemort. And this is an interesting balance, and this is kind of something I was reflecting on earlier, because one of the, you know, most impactful parts of the sequence in Goblet of Fire where Voldemort kind of gains his form back. One of the, you know, most meaningful parts of that whole sequence is the fact that he finally has a body, you know, that we're looking at him and we are actually looking at him, not just a shadow of his soul, you know, imprinted on the back of some random dude's head. You know, it's it's very different. It feels very, very different, you know, that looking at him, knowing that that is his you know corporeal form, you know, he is cast and he is ready to rumble. So it's a it's a it's a strange thing to see to look at him. And of course, we have a few years to wait to get there, but there's gotta be something. They've got to throw us a bone. And this honestly might be a perfect segue into another part of this episode that I want to mention, and that is there's still no mention of Lillian James slash flashbacks. We aren't really getting any of that so far. We haven't seen any of that. The only hints we have as to what potential uh, you know, we have for those is you know scenes that we have uh seen being being filmed, like at you know, the uh uh house for the old couple, I think it was called, on that leaked timesheet that we saw. So that maybe the flamels we have definitely seen have some whispers and some photos of uh Dumbledore filming with the flamels, so that's interesting, you know. Uh so there they're those might be the hints of the flashbacks that we've seen, but still nothing in the Lily James and other, you know, Marauders Hogwarts regards. So, you know, I think already our our Tea Leaves is maybe getting derailed. But why this relates to Voldemort is such a good, I mean, that's that's what what we did in Tea Leaves in our remake and in our you know uh writing of of the TV show. That's what we did, that's what I'm hoping is is gonna be made, is perfect opportunity. A flashback is the night that Harry, you know, defeated Voldemort, the night that Lillian James were killed. And that's a that's a you know moment that we're gonna be returning a lot to, so I understand if the filmmakers don't want to go there right away, or at least go there, you know, in full force, I guess you could say right away. But it's such a perfect opportunity to set up this conflict, you know, at least, at least like how they did it in the films, you know. It was kind of uh, you know, kind of a 24 FPS you know style shot, you know, where uh it wasn't we didn't we weren't looking at faces and we weren't looking at all you know, things like that, but we saw what was going on. While Haggers explaining this whole thing to Harry, some flashbacks, like Voldemort has gotta be involved, even if we just see his hand or his foot or his you know gleaming red eyes, you know, something like that, something like that that would just make it so so interesting, so just you know, so so terrifying, but so complex, you know, a TV show that we just have to keep watching. That's a perfect opportunity for something like that. So Voldemort and Flashbacks go hand in hand. They are two really, really important parts of the series that we have been planning basically all our episodes around. And yet, and yet we have heard nothing about any of it. Nothing. So we are just kind of waiting here, just kinda waiting. That's that's pretty much where we're at right now. We're just kinda waiting to see what's going on. And I just I'm just really hoping it's not gonna be underwhelming because I think with all this build-up, there is you know, room for failure, and I just have to hope that this is this is gonna go well. So we will see. We will see what is what is going on. Uh good luck to us all, I guess we could say. There's one more thing I want to quickly mention before we close out this episode. So let's

Snape and Dumbledore and still stealing the show!

SPEAKER_00

move on. The last note I want to make in this episode is about Snape and Dumbledore. Because, first of all, I have watching the the the uh TV show trailer just so many times in this past week and I cannot get enough of the few, you know, of the milliseconds we had of them. I am so excited to see. I mean, we we I gushed about this in the last episode, but I think it is worth revisiting for just a moment. Dumbledore, I mean, he looks so good. He he looks so so good. Uh everything down to his expression to his his wardrobe to where he is. I mean, it's just so interesting. You know, seeing his like seeing seeing his fedora is so cute, and seeing his um his his tuning fork, like I'm cute, like what is he what is he doing it for? So he has a really snappy outfit. He's he's uh he just looks the part. He really looks the part, and I'm looking forward to seeing him in action, you know, seeing his lines, all that. I think you know John Lithgow could have a really interesting interpretation that we haven't seen before. I think he has a different voice for it, you know. That that was occurring to me while reading or uh watching some of his interviews. I think he could be a really intriguing character in this. Of course, that we know how layered a character Dumbledore already is, so add the years of of you know analyzing him that we've had, I think this could be a really, really cool opportunity. And of course, Snape, I'm so looking forward to having a Snape that is the right age. I think Alan Rickman was such a good actor, really the perfect uh actor for Snape, but he wasn't exactly right for the for you know an adaptation from the books. Because of course, Snape is in his 30s, you know, he is the same age as Harry's parents would be. Uh, and that's definitely not the case. And I think it's kind of similar with with the Durslies. The Dursleys are like almost like grandparent-ish towards, of course, they're not, they're not, but they're they were closer to that than parents, and they're definitely younger. Uh they're much more similar to how they would seem in the books in the TV show, and something similar with Snape. Um, and it's it's gonna be so cool to see. I think Pop I C Dio, of course, we've talked about how just how just how perfect he seems on on the face of it, and seeing some of the interviews in this special trailer uh is really exciting. So I'm sure I'm really hoping that we're gonna have some really cool moments with him in the TV show, but also, you know, today with this with this new special that's out. So definitely I'm curious to check that out. Uh but one thing, one final thought, and one closing idea that was was also occurring to me uh, you know, along these lines is they kind of seem to be the face of this whole thing. Of course, Harry is the face of this operation, but in terms of other characters that we're that we're getting, we're getting a lot of Snape and Dumbledore, not a lot of other people. Like I'm thinking of like the Weaslies. I haven't seen a lot of them. McGonagall, we gotta, you know, we got maybe we got a few shots, we got a few shots of Hagrid too. But Snape and Numbledore are kind of taking the show here. And it might be because they're championing these two characters because they are important, you know, they are the uh, you know, some some cornerstones for the story for sure. But I'm hoping it is just because they don't have enough time to show everyone, and these two happen to have particularly important roles. I'm hoping that's what it is. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. But I'm just saying, if we watch the first episode and it is the Snape, Dumbledore, and Harry show, I'm not gonna be happy. I'm not gonna be too happy. The point of this show is to expand. I want juicy Snape scenes, and I want the most heartfelt Dumbledore scenes, but I want that juice and I want that heartfelt uh, you know, with every other character too. So let's see if we can make it happen. Uh, but this is still heading in the right direction. I'm so excited. We will getting back uh to Tea Leaves in the next episode, because we have, like I said, the clock is ticking. We have to start uh, you know, cranking out these episodes so we can meet the deadline. It's nice at least we have a day so we can uh begin to really make a plan and double up, you know, maybe uh well, hopefully we won't want to speed up too much, but we'll see how it goes. Uh but anyhow, thank you so much for joining me. Such a pleasure to be recording with you. Um definitely reach out. If anything occurred to you while listening, thepoderdiscon at gmail.com.
