Show Notes

“Black Men don’t protect Black women” is a phrase that had been circulating the internet a few months ago. With the Death of Breonna Taylor, Oluwatoyin (Toyin) Salau, and videos of Black Men abusing Women on the internet, it seems that the narrative of Black men being abusive, disrespectful, and hateful towards Black Women is not an over-generalization, but a fact. It's as if there are no good Black Men out there based on this narrative. However, all narratives come with truths and falsehoods. In this episode of Black Composition, I discuss with a panel of Black Women and Men about what does it mean to protect Black Women as well as the negative narrative and perception of our Men.
