Ohio Yearly Meeting's Podcast
So, if thee is interested in learning the differences between Conservative Quakers and other Quakers, or would like to understand differences between Quakers and other Christians, thee may well be at the right place. On the other hand, the Conservative Quaker perspective is so strikingly unique in contemporary society, that it will be a balm to many seeking spiritual fulfillment. To assist these seekers is the true intent of publishing our podcast.
A good many of the podcast installments will be presented by Henry Jason. Henry is knowledgeable in the Greek of the New Testament and has a fascinating way of tying the meaning of the original words with the writings of early Friends. Listening to him provides a refreshing view of scripture and is an excellent way to learn about original Quaker theology. Henry's podcasts are usually bible classes and so they are often interspersed with discussions, questions and insightful comments by his students.
The music in our podcasts is from Paulette Meier's CDs: Timeless Quaker Wisdom in Plainsong and Wellsprings of Life available at paulettemeier.com.

The True Christian’s Faith and Experience #021 Revelation
This session is devoted to Chapter 15 in the true Christian’s faith and experience concerning Revelation.
Many Christians say there is no revelation these days. Revelation has ceased. There is no spiritual vision to be known now. However, the testimony of the true Christian is: where there is no spiritual vision, that is a perishing state. “None knoweth the Father but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.” There has never been any other way to come to the true knowledge of God except through revelation. The outward veil in the outward temple in Jerusalem was a symbol of the veil that is spread over the hearts of men. The rending of that veil was a symbol of revelation and spiritual sight, i.e, the taking away of that which stood between man and the true sight and knowledge of God. No man has ever come to the knowledge of God through any other means. Traditional and historical knowledge are all worth nothing. Likewise, there is no complete knowledge concerning the devil except through revelation.
The devil can appear like an angel, a messenger of light, and sit in the temple as God and be worshipped as God. Many are deceived with him there, since they see no further than his outward appearance. In this way, as an angel of light, he deceives many in the form of religion who could not otherwise be deceived. This is the “mystery of iniquity” which cannot be discerned until revelation is known.
All the divisions among the Christian denominations arise out of lack of acquaintance with revelation. There are as many minds concerning Christ Jesus now as there were in the days of His flesh. However, one must be watchful, after having heavenly revelations that the veil not spread over one again. As with Peter, self-confidence, zeal, and emotions, with a knowledge of Christ according to the flesh can take men so far; heavenly visions and revelations can be seen and partaken of before a thorough conversion. Until one grows up to the stature and fullness of Christ, there is much danger. So, let no one feel exalted because of revelations and visions. Let no one rest in zeal and feelings or lay up manna for tomorrow. Rather, wait upon Him from whom all heavenly blessings and graces spring, so that a growing up in Him will be witnessed. This is the converted state.
Heights can separate as well as depths. In hearing and obeying the beloved Son, there is peace, blessings and safety. But in hearing and obeying the devil, there is tribulation, anguish, sorrow and great danger. All who wait and watch in the true Light, enjoy the one, and escape the other. The Light that shines in the heart is the safe dwelling place of its children.
