Show Notes

Information on Ohio Yearly Meeting’s 2021 session can be found at ohioyearlymeeting.org/events/.

Henry starts out with a review of true Repentance and a reading from Robert Barclay’s Apology for the True Christian Divinity.  He discusses the measures necessary for entering into the Kingdom of God.  He also describes the three remaining Conservative Friends’ Yearly Meetings today, asking what it means to be a Quaker or Christian.  This leads into the worldly influences on Conservative Quakerism today.  He compares the different bases of belief of Catholics, Protestants and Quakers.  In response to a question from a participant, there ensues a discussion on the Bible, on the real "Word of God", and the Spirit of Christ.  Recommended books to read are Traditional Quaker Christianity by Ohio Yearly Meeting and The True Christian's Faith and Experience by William Shewen.
