The True Christian’s Faith and Experience #022 Revelation (part 1 of 2)

Henry Jason

This podcast is devoted to the first half of Chapter 16 on the true Christian’s faith and experience concerning the gospel of salvation.

The true Christian believes the gospel of life and salvation. The true Christian also obeys this gospel.  And life and immortality are brought to light through it. The light of this gospel shines in his heart. He has shown a true repentance, he has turned to the light of this gospel which is the power of God for salvation. This gospel has been and is preached in every creature under heaven. Through knowledge of this gospel, the true Christian has received life, liberty and salvation, thereby obtaining those precious promises made of old by the prophet Isaiah (25:6-9).

The sabbath of rest is now entered into. The true Christian can say gospel times are glorious times, Christ reigning and ruling in his heart, giving victory over death, hell and the grave. All those saints who accept the gospel of peace and salvation arrive at the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

The nominal Christian says he believes in this gospel and obeys it. But does he? Is the secret of this gospel revealed in him, in his heart? Has he shown a true repentance or turned to the light? Does he know it as the power of God for salvation? Is he saved by it? Does he know life and immortality brought to light? Does he display a holy life and conduct? No. He rejects the light and denies revelation, saying that there is no revelation these days or any possibility of living a holy life, or enjoying the glorious promises made of old, while on this side of the grave. He does not believe as the true Christian does that the sabbath or rest in which one shall not speak one’s own words or think one’s own thoughts, or bear any burden, can be entered into or dwelt in on this side of the grave. The nominal Christian has no faith in any of these things. Therefore, his faith is imaginary and indeed that which may be called another gospel which is not of God but of man.
